Who wants the prem anyway? Those VAR interventions were appauling. Another weekend where VAR looks to the negative and not the positive. Goals are what punters want to see, not them wiped out for the most trivial of reasons. I actually think the manager should call his team off the pitch when we get situations like what happened at anfield and norwich. The supporters in the ground know nothing about what is going on, they can't celebrate a goal even when seeing the lino's running to the half way line or the ref pointing to the centre awarding the goal as he then puts his hand to his ear to see if their is a reason to disallow the goal. I thought liverpool would agree to allow norwich to walk a goal in after halftime in true sportsmanship and fairness. They were battered on their own turf by a team that came from nowhere to excell in the prem but alas were robbed by nobodies 150 miles away.
Typical that in English football we do not use VAR like it was meant to be utilised and also that in the spirit of the game its a killer not an enhancemeant.

I don't like Scottish football but yesterday seen some of the celtic game why at work and what a cracking match and if var had been involved there it would of completely spoilt the game atmosphere and result fans will walk away from a very enjoyable game and banter Ed how each side could of won if it wearnt for the ref banter and a great game var would of totally spoilt it.

{Ed001's Note - VAR is a mess but what do you expect when Mike Riley is in charge? This is the guy who deliberately gives Watford a referee who supports their most hated rivals. When they complained about it, he just appointed that referee to their games even more often! The guy is just a complete prick and he is the reason the game is in a mess.}

Agreed skegs, i saw some of that and thought the same.
I agree too Ed with your comments about Riley. Corruption is rife in the FA abd referee's association, ALLEDGEDLY lol
Loved Chelsea's comeback at Arsenal but was saddened by the card waving arsenal players abd feigning fouls etc.
As a matter of interest Abrahams was pulled back in the box off the ball, right infront of the ref, that was a stonewall pen. Apparantly he went VAR who said no pen. Then later in the game Arsenal wat georgino sent off for a similar pull that wasn't.
And just to add to the confusion, which btw is laughable and the sky guys should know better. They said they have heard that initially the pukki goal was disallowed as he had run back from an offside position, which btw you are allowed to do before a pass is made. Even their cameras show that it was impossible to define if pukki was offside so the decision should always be wjth the attacking team? Am i right?

{Ed001's Note - the problem is compounded as they use pundits and analysers who don't actually know the laws of the game. Each season the PGMOL does a meeting to give media a chance to find out the changes to the laws or interpretation of them and none of the pundits can be arsed to go. So then we have them railing against bad decisions in the studio which were actually correct, just so they can have a dig at VAR.

The biggest problem with VAR would be solved if Mike Riley would just give refs the freedom to run over to the pitchside monitor and look for themselves.

Though I have to say I thought the worst moment for refereeing at the weekend was the embarrassing way Sergio Aguero just totally disregarded Chris Kavanagh telling him to go off at the sidelines he was stood right by. Instead he tried to stroll over to the opposite side, Kavanagh even went over to physically push him off but Aguero carried on going at first. Then pretended he just wanted to shake Kavanagh's hand before strolling to the other side. How weak must a referee be to not be able to even enforce a simple rule like that? All he has to do is put his hand towards his pocket with the cards in and I bet Aguero would have turned tail and trotted straight off, instead of having a few seconds barging match with the ref!}

It needs sorting Ed whether it's through the refs or var it's just not good enough and as I say just spoils the game and banter and not to mention my bloody bets. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - it really is ruining the game.}

Why don't VAR system just use the torso and the head, not arms and legs. Their sorted.

What is happening when somebody's toe is offside. Should be for penalties and goal line decisions only. Killing the game stone dead.

It's the daft rules of the game that's the problem not VAR. VAR is keeping to the letter of the law.

I agree with all the comments ref. VAR but Ed I am shocked and really surprised that Watford have any big rivals? 🤣 who are they? Luton? Boreham wood?

{Ed001's Note - you were right with your first guess, it really is Luton! That is true.}
