“I feel the same as the fans - against a strong team, don’t worry, we will be there.
Sabri Lamouchi celebrates for Nottingham Forest against West Brom

“Against teams not at the same level, we need to increase our level to be more determined and make the difference. ”

Even though the boss says it and I do, I know I'm always wrong FF79 so it's not worth mentioning.

But if we don't beat the bottom teams we are screwed.

We have still only lost once to a top 7 team. However we are not playing one until April. THIS is the test.

Start beating the bottom teams or we are in this division for another year. End of story.

We need to beat teams when samba sow doesn't play is the answer not so much who they are.

We need to take it one game at a time play our best 11 and play every game like a cup final 13 games to go win 8 and i'd say were well in play offs.

We will beat Bristol then!

Surely the best 11 is the in-form 11. So that would mean dropping Grabban for the next game as his form is poor. We played him again and he did diddly-squat again. My guess is that he is carrying an injury but I could be wrong.

We rested Cash and he scored against the team who were top of the league when he came back.

I agree that we should try to play the best team we can every game but it isn't as black and white as we all wish it was. The boss watches training and talks to the medical team and with modern medical science they know exactly who is genuinely 100% fit. We don't. They also keep it quiet sometimes when a player is not truly fit for obvious reasons.

I'm still thinking that we can do it but we haven't consistently beaten teams lower down for years. We have to start doing that now whatever team we put out. Everything crossed for the run-in.

Come on Forest. Do it for us.

Sadly the best 11 is black and white, the legacy of a garbage looking January window, there isn't really genuine competition for places in any position on the pitch.

Yes I agree we need more depth. On the other hand we have some good young players. If we keep signing players then when will they ever get the chance?

My other point wasn't about rotation in the way you might think. What I mean is that what we think is the "best team" sometimes isn't because the medical team and boss know details about fitness we don't. so we might THINK we have not played the best team when actually we have made the best use of resources.

(e. g. If Cash was tired or had a minor fitness issue we are not privy to so we rest him. Then he is brilliant after the rest then it could be a good decision even though it looks a bad one at the time. If we played him when not fit and he picks up an injury or struggles that is bad management.

It really isn't black and white no matter how desperately annoying it is when we can't put the same 11 out every week. If we could why would we need more depth? Obvious really.

Also if the squad is only poor because of the January window then why was it good enough to put us just outside the top two places before we signed more players?

As football fans we let disappointments (e. g. in transfer or selection) twist our opinion too readily. One minute Lamouchi is the Messiah. Next minute he's a liar and doesn't have a clue. Neither is true.

Redcyclist yoir just going round in circles with your daft arguments we play the best 11 and take each game as it comes if we make play offs we make play offs its a bonus nobody expected us to make top 6 with lamouchi and the squad at the start of the season so the rest is a bonus happy days uredddssss.

We're in the top two places without really utilising much of the squad, its becoming all too evident which eleven players need to be on the pitch to get a result. Lamouchis not culpable, he's done a great job of giving a pretty average bunch of footballers an approach that gets results.

I also doubt he was part of the January window that gave him nothing to build on what he's done so far. Amazing when you consider we go into one of the biggest seasons end for many a year.

I seem to remember that one or two on here criticised the club getting an unknown foreign manager with no experience of English football and then he was further slaughtered for making unknown foreign signings that were as crap as the dross we already had at the club. All because we hadn't spent a fortune and their alleged stats. We were in a relegation battle before we had even kicked off the season .
My point is let's just give the new lads a chance to settle in and blend in with the squad then judge them .
cant believe some fans and how quick they are to jump on players backs to criticise.

I am with you Skegsjay. It's so easy to be hyper analytical and over critical. Lamouchi has excelled with the squad that has been available to him.

Skegs, If you're going to say someone is making daft arguments then you need to say what is daft about them otherwise you are just blowing hot air. Or is it just a fact that I'm not really daft at all?
