tbh I don't really mind who we meet. we can beat anyone on our day. i'm more worried how we're going to cope if and when we go up.

Thats down to being sensible and not overspending, if it means going down again but keeping a strong squad and having clout with parachute payments so be it.
Better than doing a villa and spending all the money .
Burnley are example we must follow.

Let’s get our playoff place assures first. Leeds only beat Barnsley by an own goal, and Stoke beat the in-form team Brentford yesterday. And now Cardiff on level points! Big games for us. and I just hope we turn up and are switches on; it could be squeaky bum time otherwise.

I'm with you Smithy69. Previous results against potential play off opponents count for nothing.

I don’t think anyone that hasn’t been yo yoing can ever be any where near prem ready, there is no such thing for a club like forest who’ve been away for so long. Players you get that could be prem ready are quickly sold to the prem or the parachute clubs . It’s about going up and buying very, very wisely and surviving that first season. I think we’ll need 8 new players to have a chance, I’m 50/ 50 on whether the those making signings to suit the ‘football philosophy ‘ of the club would get it right . For every poor signing there has been a good one so there is a chance I’d say. I think we’d have as much chance as any other club as we would be allowed to spend more than a few others under FFP. The hard thing as ever for us will be getting there . If we can get there the club is probably set up as well as 50% of prem clubs to stay there .

2star I think the chairman’s knowledge of already running a successful top flight club in Olympiacos would give us an advantage over most reco promoted clubs, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, it would be a nice problem to have though, and a small club like Burnley have proved with the right people at the top, it’s possible to stay there,

totally agree about sensible spending if we go up. i think the first season of going up is always going to be the hardest. of course it would be fantastic to so a sheff utd but that don't happen very often so for me the first season is all about avoiding relegation and anything else is a bonus. wouldn't it be great though to see us up there again with the big boys. its been way too long.

Stevie, trust me mate, I’m not! I’m the poster who is getting lapped by those getting ahead of the themselves! I still think we will cock this up and if we don’t I can’t see how we will produce the right performance for the entirety of the 2 games .
