Brentford to net £170 m from their success a lot of it down to the initial £6 m fee for Toney a fee we considered too much while we blowed millions on loans and mainly over the hill journey men .
Hope we’re a lot more careful this summer with our signing,s ,want players with hunger and ambition and the right age.

It is down to a owner with a dream, a system of his own on how best to recruit the right players, a belief that the clubs fans deserve entertaining football, and with a long term strategy that he has stuck with.

It wouldn’t matter who we signed, until we are less of a cluster f*** we are going nowhere.

Two star he previous managed segregated the players he decided he did not want, he then gave Cash a new role and brought out the best out of Watson.

While the players brought into his way of doing things we were doing just enough to be in and around the play offs.

Only once he lost the players confidence in him did we start to fail.

So it needs the decent signings, and good man management, oh and hopefully to be a bit more attack minded.

We could have released Grabban and had Toney. We chose to keep Grabban. Stupid decision.

Grabban had just finished scoring 20 for us, like many others he lost interest in the way Lamouchi did things.
We definitely needed to try and bring in Toney or someone with his youth and skills, you however do not tell a player thanks for scoring 20 goals this season now get lost.

GF, I still feel we’re a badly run club . It might change moving forward 👍.

Brentford deserved promotion as they have been there or there about a season or two . However 9 of the players appear to be from Europe or elsewhere and their manager also not from these shores. So are we saying Toney was the sole reason for their success or they had a scout who brought them successful overseas players.

It is not so much their scout but the system that Warburton did not like that their owner wanted to use.

Which is what iv'e been banging on about doc why do we just look at our shores for players, there's video evidence in abundance these days mate. We don't have excuses of covid etc. You look at the evidence then send a scout. It really is a joke. Pathetic when it comes to the multi million pound industry. I go back to the old days sorry. Without peter Taylor could clough be the best ever as he was in my eyes. A decent scouting group is worth its weight in gold. Literally.

GF just to touch on you bringing the fact a manager brought out the best in ben watson. Seems like yesterday just pulling the shirt on would have done that to any player. How times have changed. Loyalty only one i remember of late was lolley. What does he get for that now s#it from most.its all about pension building and which country they can afford. Look at colback fkn useless piece of sh#te. Hope he comes on this site.

Yea, if we'd have bought Toney we'd definitely have gone up. We'd probably win the Euro's too.
