I don’t think the dust will settle on this one for a while yet….
As I predicted pre match, an entertaining end to end game with nothing much riding on it and the shackles off. High scoring and with good chances at both ends. Much like the corresponding game at the City Ground and another 2 all would have been fair.
Talking of fair……. another great game ruined and overshadowed by an abysmal reffing decision. I’ve posted on here many many times about how VAR should primarily follow Snicko and Hawkeye in cricket ie to avoid an obvious reffing blooper. Ironically, VAR did its job yesterday but the ref thought he knew better than the technology. What was he thinking? Extraordinary and just brings the game into disrepute and ruins the fan experience.

If he’d made the right decision I don’t think Mbeumo or Cunha would have even argued.
Look at it another way, if a defender had done it, ask yourselves, would it have been given as a penalty? You are damn right it would.
The only other point I make is that I have a sense of foreboding for next season because it showed how much we will miss Anderson and MGW plus Murillo at the back. If we lose these 3 and don’t get quality replacements, VP will be on his way.
Still, let’s nail our bogey side next week, finish on a high and see how it goes over the summer! Coyr!

Maranakis will not let all three of them leave Stokey. MGW will stay if he gets in the England squad, but I think Murrilo and Anderson will go.
