Henri Lansbury will not sign a new contract at Nottingham Forest and is set to instead join Burnley in a deal worth around £3.5million as he looks to fulfil his ambition for Premier League football. According to a National Paper.

I for one would not like to see him go, especially for that amount, but we have an adequate replacement in Chris Cohen if fit.

Also if Cox & Mackie go we will have a 23 man squad which will explain why there will be 2 further signings to make it 25.

Be sad to loose Lansbury he has quality written all over him. If he still has two years left on his contract we should dig in and get the Burnley singles to dig a bit deeper in to their premier league war chest if they are serious about signing him. 5 mil should be about right.

Hi Ed,

Here we go again it seems, and the season not yet started! 2 weeks ago the team seemed to be shaping up nicely, with a good all round balance in the squad. An encouraging mention of even academy players seeming going well in pre-season, all great, and yes I agreed with stuart on radio Nottingham, the only concern was to strengthen a little more up front.

Fast forward only a matter of a week. Perhaps I need to understand more about the fair play thing, squad numbers and general financing but why oh why let the strongest players go again when seemingly stuart had a great platform with virtually everything in place for us to mount a great challenge, yes more fire power was needed but now if the likes of cox, mackie, landsbury, hendo and otheres go that puts us back at square one up front does it not.
I can now totally see the point of the 2 going to Newcastle, but were we not meant to be building?

{Ed034's Note - are we not building by keeping the two lads on loan for a season and then signing Antonio and assombalonga??

{Ed034's Note - other than Lansbury, the other three Pearce wanted gone, so he could bring in his own.
They are gone so we can then build.
The only one that Pearce doesn't want gone of the four mentionmis Lansbury and that decision is Lansburys.

Sorry Ed, you'll see I pressed the button on this post not Knowing about Antonio and Assombalonga, this is of course great news.

Turned down 5 mill but are now accepting 3.5 mill? Apparently?

I reckon we will pick up one quality cm to replace Henri and happy days ahead.

Why is everybody so worried. Lansbury is a good player but is injury prone and won't play a full season, take the money now. I ave seen Osborn a few times now and his passing is quality and really think he could be one of the stars of this season. With the new two with their pace this could be a good season. Glad Darlow is back but could not see lacelles playing a lot of games if Hobbs stays fit.

'Why o why' needs to be added to 'end of' and '30 goal striker' as phrases banned by Ed please.
