Leicester have made a bid for Jack Hobbs. SSN.

{Ed034's Note - have or expected to?

1.) 28 Jan 2014
According to sports channel made a bid ed

{Ed034's Note - thanks

2.) 28 Jan 2014
They can't afford to give the players they already have new contracts let alone hobbs 20k+ every week

3.) 28 Jan 2014
This would be a real kick in the teeth!

4.) 28 Jan 2014
Just seen it Ed'. its not losing Hobbs that gets to me. its losing him to a rival

{Ed034's Note - they have only bid

5.) 28 Jan 2014
Ok see it now interesting text in the article states we have not met Hulls requirements. opinions anyone

6.) 28 Jan 2014
I wish we would only confirm these so called signings after everything has been agreed. Medical, personal terms, fee, visa's etc etc

We're starting to look very amatuerish of late. Get this Cortese chap in as the CEO. He knows how to close a deal quicky & proficiently.

{Ed034's Note - so you would rather the club say nothing at all and had no interaction with the fans?? funny I bet you wouldn't have said that five years ago.
do agree though, that an experienced CEO would be a good move

7.) 28 Jan 2014
I for one am devastated at the Jack Hobbs situation. We are paying Abdoun £26k per week and won't pay Hobbs £20k? He should have been signed up before all of this silliness began.

Without a doubt, if Leicester come in for him, he will join them. Not only will they have Hobbs and Morgan at the back making them the strongest pairing in the league but he is pretty much guaranteed to be playing in the Premier League with them next season.

I am not one for slagging off the owner etc but this is a really bad turn of events. I'm not impressed at all. Firstly we are told that the deal is done in the summer and then he is being recalled. Then Fawaz says he has sorted it and he hasn't.

Losing one of our best players this season not once but twice due to failures with contracts is not good enough.

{Ed034's Note - how are you privy to how much hobbs wants??

8.) 28 Jan 2014
Why is our rumours site linked with players not coming to us. 3 n arf days to go and so far Chalobah gone, Hobbs gone, Miller out on loan, Gillett out on loan, Vaughan on his way Weds and so far Rafik has said he's signed but no confirmation from us so that's 5 out none in. I thought Boyd-gate was bad 12 months ago!. that looks like being an anti climax in comparison especially if the so called big guns come in for our jewels in Darlow and Lascelles. guess we are Nottingham Forest and we should come to expect this : (

9.) 28 Jan 2014
Should never have come to this. Hobbs deal should have been signed and sealed.

10.) 28 Jan 2014
We already know we didn't meet their requirements (Hull). We agreed a fee apparently but didn't pay it after ten days, so it said. It wasn't just down to agreeing terms. We hadn't paid them.

11.) 28 Jan 2014
Can't we use 'the cheque is in the post' line

12.) 28 Jan 2014
I agree having a CEO would help the club but beware of thinking Cortese is going to be good, reports I've heard from Southampton is they're investigating his dealings as a big hole has shown in their accounts. Hobbs is allowed to get the best deal for himself though it seems he was trying to get a better deal in the last few weeks.

13.) 28 Jan 2014
All these setbacks are making me think were going to get promoted, if everyone from top to botten supports the club and be patient, we are nffc we don't do things the easy or right way.

Besides I would bet on hobbs getting injured if he started playing for us again, its just the kind of thing that happens to this club.

14.) 28 Jan 2014
Ed i'd rather the club said nothing until things were finalised and didn't put timescales or the number of signings out into the open domain. the hobbs deal always had a chance of falling through or changing and that is what happens when you deal in the loan market but we don't need to know the exact details of who we are looking at, or the amount of players, or that 2 or 3 will be here by the end of the window. we didn't need to be told about the potential signing of djebour, we should have been told of the actual signing of him (fingers crossed that one is coming soon?). we deserve to be told that we are actively looking at improving the squad but I don't think fans need snippets of information that can easily be taken the wrong way, misinterpreted or to put the club/owner under unnecessary pressure - and if fans are not happy with that sort of information just keep coming on here and reading the rumours which will always be floating around. forgive me if i'm wrong but didn't the club/fawaz say we will have 2 or 3 players in this window? this isn't known until they are signed, sealed and delivered, fingers crossed we do still sign players but if we don't manage to sign 2 or 3 players its just giving ammo to the fans who want to use it and leaving others disappointed. the club are slightly guilty of starting the rumours and I think would be better to keep it in house until its all 100%.
rumours should stay on here, potential deals stay in house/behind the scenes and facts or done deals can go on the official site.

15.) 28 Jan 2014
Like I said before, when Fawaz was quized about Hobbs, he repeatedly said the hull aspect was agreed but hobb's personal terms still needed to be sorted - so, he told us all exactly what the score was. not good for us but you would have been moaning if he had completely lied about the whole deal

16.) 28 Jan 2014
Starting to feel a real case of de ja vous

17.) 28 Jan 2014
I am a leicester fan and don't particularly ratw hobbs but if it means getting one over on florist I would take him lol. We might be looking at bringing him in to replace the injured moore its so good being a leicester fan at present actually its always good being a leicester fan

18.) 28 Jan 2014
Deja, so who will we sell in the 11th hour on the last day, Laschelles, Darlow or Henri

19.) 28 Jan 2014
We will still make your defence look amaterish when you come to the City Ground

20.) 28 Jan 2014
To the poster who said 'Quizzed about Hobbs' spot on. Terms agreed with Hull.

21.) 28 Jan 2014
Welcome Foxy. It is good being a Forest fan at the moment despite some of the fickle fans on here.

Is anyone really surprised? The January transfer window has been awfully handled over the last few years and nothing seems to be changing. If you don't pay the going rate you don't get the best employees- that's a fact. I am not bashing the manager or owners- but let's be realistic. There are clubs with far bigger budgets in our league who can spend to get the job done due to parachute payments etc
Jacko Loyal Red

23.) 28 Jan 2014
Would be staggered if we are paying Abdoun £26k per week. How do you know this?
Rutland Red

24.) 28 Jan 2014
Sunderland have agreed terms with a new Argentine Striker. lose Hobbs. gain Wickham. everyone happy. I think

25.) 28 Jan 2014
It will be interesting to see how quickly Wigan, Reading or Leicester tie up this deal for Hobbs. Perhaps Forest should sit back and watch how it's done?

26.) 28 Jan 2014
Confirmed on ssn. Leicester City have submitted a bid for Jack Hobbs.

27.) 28 Jan 2014
The irony of it, Hobbs possibly playing along side Morgan. Thought the bin robbers had no money. Words fail me.

28.) 28 Jan 2014
For all we know hobbs might have made a gentlemans agreement with fawas and billy to not agree terms with anyone.
would this mean he comes back on loan as originally agreed and we get him in summer for free saving us 1m and getting a better deal himself.

29.) 28 Jan 2014
Ed, do you know who we are actually in for, actively negotiating? Apart from the Algerian Striker of course.

{Ed034's Note - I know for a fact Vaughan and clucas

30.) 28 Jan 2014
According to Fawaz we were looking at 4 or 5 players with a view to signing 2 or 3. Who are they as it's all gone horribly quiet in the last few days. This could turn into a negative number in terms of players in and out.

31.) 28 Jan 2014
It gets better don't it

32.) 28 Jan 2014
I simply can't understand that we can end up losing Hobbs. To Leicester, maybe, come on Reds! Both Fawaz and BD talk about promotion, and in ny opinion Hobbs is the kind of player who can take us there. He has been more than great for us, a class defender, so sign him up If you want PL as you say!
Soon friday and losing faith by the hour, will anybody come in, or is it again a dreadfull January?
Forest Dane

{Ed034's Note - because of the wage he is requesting.

33.) 28 Jan 2014
28 Jan 2014 14:56:13
thing people have to remember is leicester where only in debt to the owners (stopping them buying people) but ever since leicesters owners wiped the debt off them and changed it into equity they're officially now a team with no debt and can buy players (Y) People Need To Read!

34.) 28 Jan 2014
You reckon we have no money (leicester) our owners are billionaires. I am not sure what fawaz is worth but rackshorin always puts his hand in his pocket. Something you forest fans can only dream of.

Up the foxes the premier league here we come

{Ed034's Note - rather silly comment when you actually look at the amount of money fawaz has out in from transfers, the ground and academy, since taking over.
I don't mind a bit of banter between rival fans, but at least get your facts right, or you just make yourself look a bit of a turnip

35.) 28 Jan 2014
We will have lascelles and Wilson at the back, get Vaughan to sit in front of them and who needs Hobbs?, yes he would have been good, but spend the money on a striker and improved contracts for darlow, lascelles and lansbury to get them to stay

36.) 28 Jan 2014
28 Jan 2014 20:48:07
Is this the same Leicester City that went into liquidation
And since then clubs have had points deducted, talk about the teapot calling the kettle

37.) 29 Jan 2014
I know they changed the rules at the right time for us no points deduction and we went str8 back up as well. Oh well these things happen we were just lucky I suppose. As for eds comment about looking like a turnip he/she was merely stating that the forest fan had put on that leicester had got no money. When leicester owe nobody anything thanks to our owners.
