I may have missed something but can someone tell me why QPR have not been hit with a transfer embargo seen as they broke every FFP rule the year before last and still owe a £58 million fine. They are making some massive signing for quite a bit of money with people on high wages again but it dosent seem fair compared to other teams under the embargo. Yes I know the promotion saved them to a certain extent but surely if someone owes you nearly £60 million you would put them under an embargo.

Not entirely sure, but isn't it to do with QPR threatening, or actually submitting and official challenge to the legality of FFP? Until that's resolved they're technically not 'condemned'

Suffolkred.

So if Qpr fail to win their appeal would they have to sell any players they buy before the appeal was decided ?

No idea. was just suggesting why, at present, they are acting as it's business as usual and not under an embargo. How long would an appeal take? Ages possibly. the system isn't fit for purpose. We accepted the embargo without challenging its legality and we're stuck. If you say 'up yours' to the system, it seems you might get a stay of execution. Just personal opinion, I'm not privvy to the actual rules governing FFP and haven't researched them.

No this happened with Barcelona as well, they knew they were going to have an embargo and then bought players while appealing the legality of the rules but then are under a transfer embargo now. That Is why Suarez was able to move, it is looking like QPR will have loads more problems again if they don't go up this year buying the Swindon lads for about £5mil and being linked with players like Carlton cole with an already massive wage bill.

Theredz.

I can see where you are coming from, but as someone said to me Barcelona had an embargo for something else, and have a different governing body.

I do feel though it is wrong to be able buy players while appealing.
