Obviously a thoroughly disappointing and fairly wretched afternoons work with a performance not far behind that of Reading away with the highlight for me being the chanting and banter of a large sectiopn of Forest supporters directed aganst a , shall we say ,rather portly lone Ipswich fan which was responded to and dealt with with great good grace by both parties and to you sir I take off my hat.

That should tell you how the game was played with both sides showing no real quality in a first half littered with errors from both sides and just crying out for someone to stamp a little authority and class on the game which in fairness to Ipswich we had by far the better players on the pitch to do so but it never happened.

The second half saw Ipswich at least stringing a few passes together and in truth we played the game from then on in mostly in our own half and for me we were lucky to come away with a point.

Lolley was one again effectively crowded out of the game and I get the impression,as others have noted , that Colback is playing more on the left side where he appears less suited.
Not sure of the reason for Milosevic to have been on the bench and in truth Benalouane had a bit of a shocker with his distribution being for the most part woeful.

The clamour for Carvalho was once again apparent but his introduction made little if any difference but in fairness I doubt the introduction of Messi would have had much effect either so although it would be harsh to single him out I am a little mystified as to the calls for his introduction

The best and worst of Pantilimon on show with a couple of good saves late on but on the flip side his continued kicking high of the ball into the teeth of a gale and watching the ball coming straight back became very irritating although it must be said that there was not a lot of willingness and movement to give him much option.

Much has been said and made of Murphys " goal " which on review was clearly never offside and would have seen us, perhaps undeservedly, take the lead and it goes with the littany of errors made by officials which have , if not in this case , then certainly others have no doubt cost us points but my view is this.

I would hazard a guess that if you spoke to any supporter from any club in this league they would almost certainly highlight to you penalties given against, penalties not given for, goals chalked off for any number of reasons which on review proved incorrect, red cards that were'nt etc etc and ad infinitum.
Most certainly Ipswich were on the wrong end of a few yesterday and I cannot subscribe to the thory that we are a special case to be spiked at any opportunity.

The season is played over 46 matches and is decided by what you do,the goals you score and those you don't concede and come the end then the best two teams go up.

In closing it is perhaps indicative of the quality of the Championship this year that we are still only three points from the play offs and as inconsistent as we may be we are in good company so following the boring international break its Swansea up next with the hope of at the very very least a much improved performance and

As always
