Down to 9th, still only 4 points off top 6. Next fixtures, Bristol City, Wigan and Brentford at home before WBA away. That performance has moved the goal posts somewhat. Our back four will take some picking too. Are we realistically going to have a new manager in by next Sat?

Some have rumoured the club had no one lined up, a tad careless? General consensus is ex-Fulham manager. He's currently being paid PL wages and after watching today, may stay at home collecting said wages. I full of doom and gloom at our short term prospects. Certain fans casually claiming, once we get the new man in, we can clear AK's dross and get back up the league.

That's assuming they're AK's choices, that's assuming we can afford to replace them in a shrinking window, that's assuming the new manager gets appointed soon and succeeds where so many have failed before him. Never assume, it makes an ASS out of U and ME. I regrettably predict a bottom half finish for Forest, 14th seems about right. ยฃ10 of my money, for every place higher we finish, to the charity of FF79 and Skeggies choice. Their wisdom knows no bounds. ๐Ÿ˜ FTID.

1.) 12 Jan 2019 23:52:05
Better get some extra shifts in then scouse.

2.) 13 Jan 2019 07:25:30
AK should of stayed on for the reading game then resigned, if I decided to leave my job I would have to work a full week why should football managers be any different. Were a shambles yet again

3.) 13 Jan 2019 08:32:30
Don't mind if I have to FF.๐Ÿ‘

4.) 13 Jan 2019 08:35:40
Scouse that's a lot of assuming mate and 14th is a improvement on last season and a one place improvement on where I thought krankie would take us 15th so all in all its all good ๐Ÿ˜†

5.) 13 Jan 2019 09:52:32
Oh you are awful Skeggie but I like you.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

03 Dec 2018 21:36:18
I'm going to say it, not to upset the romantics amongst you but I truly believe it's for the best. Please play well Forest but lose to Chelsea, then get back to your proper jobs of getting us promoted. Eyes on the prize you reds. ๐Ÿ‘€.

Scouseduckred

1.) 04 Dec 2018 02:04:30
I agree. But a score draw and a game replay at city ground could turn out to be a win for us. i reckon its a blessing too as we can play premier league opposition soon already haha

I'm going for 2-2

2.) 04 Dec 2018 08:21:29
Nah, go out there and smash them 5 - 0 then lose to burton in the next round. Do it the forest way.

3.) 04 Dec 2018 16:48:38
5-1 last year, hope it will be closer this year, it's a good test for us.

28 Nov 2018 17:49:21
I've convinced myself Villa's midfield is thread bare and we will boss the game. No mistakes, clean sheet and a 1-0 or preferably 2-0 victory. Fancy one of our full backs to score too. I had a dream. COYR

2.) 28 Nov 2018 21:29:15
Currently 5-5 so don't think I'll ever take a tip from you SDR.

3.) 28 Nov 2018 21:41:21
5-5. Brilliant entertainment

4.) 29 Nov 2018 22:58:25
Agreed Trev, luckily Lolley saved my blushes.๐Ÿ‘

04 Aug 2018 21:27:52
Accepting our poor record away to B. City in recent reasons, I'll begrudgingly accept an away point. They're likely to be one of the teams challenging us for a top 6 spot, after all. If we draw away and beat those teams at home, we'll be doing ok. WBA will present a different challenge, especially after losing to Bolton. I hope AK has Forest ready from 'minute one' on Tues and the fans are rewarded with 3 points and a performance. FTID.

1.) 04 Aug 2018 22:38:06

LOL

2.) 05 Aug 2018 08:17:30
Spot on scouse my sentiments exactly when we play wba we will see how far we have progressed

3.) 05 Aug 2018 09:04:35
If that's the 'Red Dog' off the bird site, still missing pretty boy Lansbury?๐Ÿ˜ As for that post being a rumour, our Ed's are busy boys.๐Ÿ‘

4.) 05 Aug 2018 11:13:57

Nope not the Bird Site Red Dog this is the real Red Dog. FTID

6.) 05 Aug 2018 19:55:30
scouseduckred sort ya self out its only the first game of new season and you have gone and cocked it up already. and please don't get like ff79 and skegjay ( alias basil fawlty and manuel ) and ffs don't mention the war-burton.

7.) 05 Aug 2018 21:46:57
Lol.
Chopsey I will say this only once.

Cheers Chopsy, proper techo phobe me. I'm surprised my carer allows me a smart phone, especially after a few beers.๐Ÿ˜ FTID

9.) 06 Aug 2018 20:25:23
Let's look at it all after 10 matches, no point in talking about it yet.

09 Jul 2018 09:50:24
AK's decision to get his transfer business done early, is working a treat. Bringing the squad back early for pre-season training, should give us a fitness edge. Spanish training camp and including youth team players, will hopefully unite the squad. No stone is being left un-turned in the pursuit of 'success'. So why am I so nervous? Maybe because I haven't seen them play yet? Maybe a few good, early league wins will settle my nerves? What ever it is, this World Cup distraction isn't helping. Born in 67, so I've always been let down by England. But now I could see Forest in the PL and England win the World Cup. I think I might explode. ๐Ÿ˜.

Scouseduckred

1.) 09 Jul 2018 11:53:26
A world cup win and promotion this, two things that I thought I would never see inky lifetime

2.) 09 Jul 2018 12:50:01
I'd be grateful for 4th place in the WC and a top 10 finish!!

3.) 09 Jul 2018 13:19:07
There's only room for a no1 or a no2 in the "WC"๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

4.) 09 Jul 2018 13:44:29
Sswe anything less than top 6 I am sure would be considered unacceptable to the owner given the level of investment

5.) 09 Jul 2018 13:51:47
Now who pooh poohed that one??๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

6.) 09 Jul 2018 20:30:55
With improving performances and results, fans expectations rise. Before all of the signings I'd have been quite happy with a top ten finish. I am now wanting more. Does that make greedy? Regarding England ,pre tournament I would have been happy to get through the group but now I want the world cup to come home!

7.) 09 Jul 2018 20:37:23
No just makes you like the owners.
Top ten won't do playoffs at least

8.) 09 Jul 2018 21:01:34
Don't think I've ever felt this optimistic about my country and my beloved reds :)

9.) 09 Jul 2018 21:09:23
On a serious note it is looking good Daz on both counts ,really looking forward to Wednesday and Sunday and then holiday and then the new season.

10.) 09 Jul 2018 21:14:36
I don't really care about England winning the World Cup as long as Forest get promoted. Or at least have a good go at it.

11.) 09 Jul 2018 21:41:01
Phsyco,season don't start for a month,lets win one thing at a time.
World cup is massive,I was nine last time we won it and want to see it again,it gives the whole country a boost and won't affect what we do next season, which with the signings looks good.
One thing at a time my friend starting with the world cup.
Come on.

12.) 09 Jul 2018 22:27:43
Agreed ff799 forest now seem to have all there ducks in a row isn't it nice to sit back and watch other teams struggle with ffp like the sheep and villa who are finding it tough going even stoke are saying we will be promoted strait back boro thought that and we know what happened there

13.) 09 Jul 2018 22:49:27
It is 52 first let's win this world cup.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

14.) 10 Jul 2018 09:09:39
If I had a choice I would prefer us promoted over and England world cup win. because i'm irish haha. best of luck tomorrow night lads.

15.) 10 Jul 2018 09:29:53
Mucser it's really good to see so many NFFC fans from the Island of Ireland on this forum. Some our most talented players in the past have come from the emerald isle. Long may it continue! YOU REDS!!

16.) 10 Jul 2018 18:23:29
Hope you guys win too!!! However if Forest get to the promised land,I'll lose the plot!! In fact ill be sitting in my front garden with a pair of pants on my head, complete with two pipe cleaners up my nose, shouting "Wibble!!"๐ŸŽ–๏ธ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

17.) 11 Jul 2018 10:39:57
As long as you don't get the colly wobbles or you'll end up in your local pound ๐Ÿ˜‚

18.) 11 Jul 2018 10:55:36
Slightly off topic but has anyone heard where the team will play their Spanish friendlies? Cheers

19.) 11 Jul 2018 11:24:32
Heard they're training in Marbella is all I know , Fuenguerola meself on sat maybe I'll nip over get a look if they're still around ๐Ÿ˜

Lol and Villa fans want Dean Smith sacked. Forced Bruce out for playing the wrong kind of football, got their Villa fan Smith in and it's all gone tits up. Now the excuse is 'they're Bruce's players'. I wonder how long our 'new manager' will get, with MW and AK's players?

Scouseduckred

1.) 14 Jan 2019 11:00:50
Who have we got left in the first 11 that mw bought in ?

2.) 14 Jan 2019 11:20:36
Murphy on the periphery- thatโ€™s it I think.

3.) 14 Jan 2019 11:44:04
Darikwa as well

4.) 14 Jan 2019 12:07:24
Of the current listed squad of 28 players 19 are from Mr Karankas reign, Darikwa, Bridcutt and Murphy are from Mr Warburtons time leaving Smith,Henderson,Fox,Osborn,Cash and Yates as players who precede both.

12 Jan 2019 16:54:12
Well at least it wasn't a draw eh fellow reds? Lost to a bottom side, finished with 9 men. Welcome to the post AK era. Any hope of top 6 may well be disappearing and we're waiting for the eunuch, saviour manager coming over the horizon to entertain us at home, sigh. Look at that lovely green grass on the other side.

Scouseduckred

1.) 12 Jan 2019 17:01:26
At least ff and skegs are happy now thatโ€™s all that matters!

2.) 12 Jan 2019 17:01:50
You think that wasn't the starting 11 ak wouldn't of chosen you ate very wrong still his 11 with same tactics so I feel your wrong on all counts, where's Gary Brazil I wonder

3.) 12 Jan 2019 17:03:18
You make me laugh on here all those saying drop calvahalo he's crap, well this is what we'll play like without him unless we change formation.
Said we have no other player that can play that role.
On the flip side of things our first team coach hasn't got a clue when it comes to management

4.) 12 Jan 2019 17:19:22
Same old same old fans calling players crap I think me and ff said we will be crap without carvalho he does a lot more than fans think and like I said because heโ€™s not scoring 15 goals assisting every game or taking players on all game fans think heโ€™s rubbish!

5.) 12 Jan 2019 17:42:55
Well we at least agree on one thing mate

6.) 12 Jan 2019 17:49:00
We were crap with him at millwall, donโ€™t put this shambles of a performance down to not having one player not playing

7.) 12 Jan 2019 17:57:54
But played on the win against Leeds where he out muscled pontas a couple of times and never gave up on anything, not bad for someone who is said to be rubbish and lightweight.

8.) 12 Jan 2019 18:02:55
Sutton heโ€™s played every game this season ever thought he might need resting ?

9.) 12 Jan 2019 18:03:26
I'm not Stevie, just pointing out we can't play karankas system without him

10.) 12 Jan 2019 18:56:14
Sutton as it happens I have never called him rubbish just overrated and not worth the outlay , as it happened Steve hodge said pretty much the same on the radio, think he knows more about midfield play than me an you put together

11.) 12 Jan 2019 19:12:22
I really do rest my case on the Forest Flying Circus.

The feeding frenzy has started again and come May we will find out whether the Greek DoF actually has a clue on player recruitment or whether a very decent man had the integrity to walk before being set up for a fall?

12 Jan 2019 09:27:43
Gregor Robertson in the Post, a voice of reason. Be careful what you wish for and beware Greeks bearing gifts. Nicholas Randall, a manager should be awarded the luxury of time? Shallow, empty words. Give me 9 points from the next 3 games and all will be rosy in the Forest garden. Trouble is, Maranakis has just dug a massive hole in it. Has he found a ladder to get us out of the hole or is he just going to keep digging? FTID.

Scouseduckred

1.) 12 Jan 2019 09:54:12
I know then Scouse let's get rid of marinakis?
Then you'll be happy and all the rest now that "god has WALKED away"
We would then be insolvent with no assets and no one interested in buying us.
Brilliant idea to have a go at the owners.
Forgot that 16 wins in 52 games is a fantastic return from a brilliant manager๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”
Gregor needs to print facts not fiction

2.) 12 Jan 2019 10:15:03
I'm taking your positive outlook 79. With Karanka my expectations were going for promotion over the next couple of seasons but after yesterday I'm as you say with the owners and I now expect promotion this season.

3.) 12 Jan 2019 10:30:12
Being widely reported that Marinakis spent time on Thursday trying to persuade AK to stay. Maybe fans are too quick to blame the owner?

4.) 12 Jan 2019 13:28:30
Itโ€™s like I said karanka as thrown us fans under the bus for his own agenda, he canโ€™t take the pressure an as done the 1 thing heโ€™s good at walked so why arenโ€™t we saying good glad you gone we donโ€™t want people who arenโ€™t committed to Nottingham Forest???

11 Jan 2019 15:23:19
Ok, still trying to digest the news, of YET ANOTHER MANAGERIAL CHANGE๐Ÿ˜ . The disappointment is not about who is leaving or why they're leaving but the upheaval, again. The club's owners are boxing clever, I believe, by allowing AK to leave on 'his terms'. I would guess there's a confidentiality agreement in place, a severance package has been agreed, so that both sides save face. AK walks 'on principals' and the club hasn't sacked him, he asked to leave. A new manager? Does it really matter? They're not going to be here long. ๐Ÿ˜ The Reading game will show how the players feel, I'm sure some mysterious injuries will have cleared up but what performance/ result should we expect? As for certain people on here, throwing the daggers at AK's back, as he's leaving? No class, which if anything AK leaves as his legacy. Please remember, at present we have no manager. Wallowing in your satisfaction of AK going, before you even know his replacement? Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't.

Scouseduckred

1.) 11 Jan 2019 16:51:21
I am saddened by another managerial change and was on the fence with AK anyway. I think we should have given him time but how many times have we said that. we have been here before and ended up in a worse position than we started and I hope it's not the same again. We do have a decent squad, the best for a while and we have to move on now. I hope we get a good manager to push us forwards. You Reds.

2.) 11 Jan 2019 17:11:00
Scouce. You say better the devil you know. Does that mean you think we should keep playing Pants?

3.) 11 Jan 2019 18:32:28
Gazzi, we have all our opinions on players, I was at the home game v Millwall, so am no great fan of the dopey giant. The difference is we have Steele in the squad and know what he offers. Any new manager appointed is starting from scratch with these players. Now that could be a good thing or a bad thing, only time will tell. My concern is losing more ground on the top 6, while his (or her๐Ÿ˜Š) ideas are implemented. It feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I'm not AK's agent, want what's best for our club, just concerned we've dropped a clanger.

10 Jan 2019 18:56:23
From memory, when AK had his wobble at 'Boro, they were top? We're 7th and it's his first full season in charge. I get that Maranakis has backed him, although I'm not sure all of the players are AK's choice. I believe that part of the remit was top 6 by Jan 1st, close but no cigar. It's clear that the daggers are out at the City Ground, if rumours are to be believed. But, in all honesty, a change now is destined to fail. If I felt there was a senior group of players against him, I could understand the need for change. So far I can only see the 'possibility' of Grabban falling out with AK. From the outside it appears about AK stamping his authority, I can only back him there. In a transfer window, better players will be bid for and unsettled, squad players will be moved on, some will bitch and moan. Yet we still have a first team that, bar recent poor games after Ipswich, are fighting for the club and manager? I'm bemused and frustrated, we're so close to getting it right and yet seem to be preparing to scrap it and start again. ๐Ÿ˜ Let's hope it doesn't drag on, sully our good name or cost us points in upcoming fixtures. As always, FTID.

Scouseduckred

1.) 10 Jan 2019 19:26:56
Very well said Scouse.

2.) 10 Jan 2019 21:10:17
I also agree Scouse all we can do is cheer for AK. This is my second year as a season ticket holder. I seriously would reconsider renewing if they sack AK. However he could well walk away as he is fed up with the disrespect from players and especially the owner. I wouldnโ€™t blame him. He is probably staying because the good players want him to as do the fans

3.) 10 Jan 2019 22:06:18
We are in an very similar league position to Boro in AK's first season. Downing thought he knew better and AK wanted to make changes in Jan and sought backing from the board to make it happen. He won and they got into the play offs with his team with Downing sidelined.

On the basis it usually takes 2 seasons with a settled side to get promotion you will appreciate why despite the football not being the best I've witnessed at the CG I will back this successful manager over suits and impatient fans who think they know better!

At this stage in his reign I really do not see what the problem is with progress given Boro had better resources when he joined them?

The Greeks are entitled to huff and puff but they should be very careful not to blow the house down as it will take much longer to put it back up!

Onward & Upward

4.) 10 Jan 2019 22:22:12
Question is redinexile, you seem to trust karanka above our owner Mr marinakis whoes money is being spent?
You could chuck your life savings in if it's a banker??๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

5.) 11 Jan 2019 00:11:24
Maybe he should chuck is lucky red trousers in as well ๐Ÿ˜

6.) 11 Jan 2019 00:38:22
Marinakis knew the timescale it took Karanka to gain promotion at Boro.He was given a contract that mirrors this. Why do we give managers these 2 and 3 year deals?

7.) 11 Jan 2019 06:26:59
So because the owner is spending cash we should trust him more?olypiacos havnt won the league because the owner knows what heโ€™s doing and they have won that league legitimately.why would you trust someone more who has had allegations of match fixing corruption and having a hand in blowing up a refs business?
Itโ€™s like te West Ham owners moaning saying arnoutavic isnโ€™t for sale and he has a contract and he should honour it,why donโ€™t owners honour contracts theyโ€™ve given to managers they have employed?

8.) 11 Jan 2019 08:12:07
So now your having a go at the owner, whoes put millions in and made us financially stable,
If your talking about honouring contracts should we not have done that with warbo??

9.) 11 Jan 2019 08:43:46
The happy clappers will blame anyone except karanka

10.) 11 Jan 2019 09:15:09
Happy Birthday Skeg

Evertonians are calling the McCarthy rumour up here. 'When he's fit, he's a cracking player'. So not fit and on PL wages. Loan with a view to permanent, subject to contract maybe? But agree, we need 3 midfielders shifting first.

10 yards further forward? We have zero pace at the back. Unless we have the quality of players to keep the ball, we are wide open to counter attacks. A sweeper type keeper would help, which CP isn't. I said Villa fans thought O'Neill was long ball, if that means direct then I'm all for it. Fannying about with the ball in our half, while the opposition gets 10 men behind the ball, is a massive turn off for me. Stuff possession, more, quicker forward passes, more shots (on target) equals more goals and wins. We need to play to our strengths, which means letting the defence have the ball for the least amount of time possible. Get it forward, get it wide, get the crosses in. Put the opposition under pressure for a change. Not hopeful for the weekend, too many missing. I'll be more optimistic for the season, when we get some reinforcements in. FTID.

Smacks of a Fawaz stunt. I'll reserve judgement until the end of Jan. We'll know more about hs ideas and funds available then. I wish Martin and his backroom staff all the best, he'll need some Irish luck on Sat anyway. My Villa mate says get used to route one football? It is, what it is. COYR.
