Down to 9th, still only 4 points off top 6. Next fixtures, Bristol City, Wigan and Brentford at home before WBA away. That performance has moved the goal posts somewhat. Our back four will take some picking too. Are we realistically going to have a new manager in by next Sat?

Some have rumoured the club had no one lined up, a tad careless? General consensus is ex-Fulham manager. He's currently being paid PL wages and after watching today, may stay at home collecting said wages. I full of doom and gloom at our short term prospects. Certain fans casually claiming, once we get the new man in, we can clear AK's dross and get back up the league.

That's assuming they're AK's choices, that's assuming we can afford to replace them in a shrinking window, that's assuming the new manager gets appointed soon and succeeds where so many have failed before him. Never assume, it makes an ASS out of U and ME. I regrettably predict a bottom half finish for Forest, 14th seems about right. £10 of my money, for every place higher we finish, to the charity of FF79 and Skeggies choice. Their wisdom knows no bounds. 😐 FTID.

1.) 12 Jan 2019 23:52:05
Better get some extra shifts in then scouse.

2.) 13 Jan 2019 07:25:30
AK should of stayed on for the reading game then resigned, if I decided to leave my job I would have to work a full week why should football managers be any different. Were a shambles yet again

3.) 13 Jan 2019 08:32:30
Don't mind if I have to FF.πŸ‘

4.) 13 Jan 2019 08:35:40
Scouse that's a lot of assuming mate and 14th is a improvement on last season and a one place improvement on where I thought krankie would take us 15th so all in all its all good πŸ˜†

5.) 13 Jan 2019 09:52:32
Oh you are awful Skeggie but I like you.πŸ˜πŸ‘

03 Dec 2018 21:36:18
I'm going to say it, not to upset the romantics amongst you but I truly believe it's for the best. Please play well Forest but lose to Chelsea, then get back to your proper jobs of getting us promoted. Eyes on the prize you reds. πŸ‘€.

1.) 04 Dec 2018 02:04:30
I agree. But a score draw and a game replay at city ground could turn out to be a win for us. i reckon its a blessing too as we can play premier league opposition soon already haha

I'm going for 2-2

2.) 04 Dec 2018 08:21:29
Nah, go out there and smash them 5 - 0 then lose to burton in the next round. Do it the forest way.

3.) 04 Dec 2018 16:48:38
5-1 last year, hope it will be closer this year, it's a good test for us.

28 Nov 2018 17:49:21
I've convinced myself Villa's midfield is thread bare and we will boss the game. No mistakes, clean sheet and a 1-0 or preferably 2-0 victory. Fancy one of our full backs to score too. I had a dream. COYR

1.) 28 Nov 2018 20:04:28
Clean sheet, lol.πŸ˜–

2.) 28 Nov 2018 21:29:15
Currently 5-5 so don't think I'll ever take a tip from you SDR.

3.) 28 Nov 2018 21:41:21
5-5. Brilliant entertainment

4.) 29 Nov 2018 22:58:25
Agreed Trev, luckily Lolley saved my blushes.πŸ‘

04 Aug 2018 21:27:52
Accepting our poor record away to B. City in recent reasons, I'll begrudgingly accept an away point. They're likely to be one of the teams challenging us for a top 6 spot, after all. If we draw away and beat those teams at home, we'll be doing ok. WBA will present a different challenge, especially after losing to Bolton. I hope AK has Forest ready from 'minute one' on Tues and the fans are rewarded with 3 points and a performance. FTID.

1.) 04 Aug 2018 22:38:06
And this is a rumour??

2.) 05 Aug 2018 08:17:30
Spot on scouse my sentiments exactly when we play wba we will see how far we have progressed

3.) 05 Aug 2018 09:04:35
If that's the 'Red Dog' off the bird site, still missing pretty boy Lansbury?😁 As for that post being a rumour, our Ed's are busy boys.πŸ‘

4.) 05 Aug 2018 11:13:57
Quality. rumours in banter and general chat in rumoursa. Keep it up Ed :)

5.) 05 Aug 2018 18:17:10
Nope not the Bird Site Red Dog this is the real Red Dog. FTID

6.) 05 Aug 2018 19:55:30
scouseduckred sort ya self out its only the first game of new season and you have gone and cocked it up already. and please don't get like ff79 and skegjay ( alias basil fawlty and manuel ) and ffs don't mention the war-burton.

7.) 05 Aug 2018 21:46:57
Chopsey I will say this only once.
It's better to eat bread one slice at a time, than trying to devour the whole loaf in oneβ˜οΈπŸ€”

8.) 05 Aug 2018 21:54:46
Cheers Chopsy, proper techo phobe me. I'm surprised my carer allows me a smart phone, especially after a few beers.😁 FTID

9.) 06 Aug 2018 20:25:23
Let's look at it all after 10 matches, no point in talking about it yet.

09 Jul 2018 09:50:24
AK's decision to get his transfer business done early, is working a treat. Bringing the squad back early for pre-season training, should give us a fitness edge. Spanish training camp and including youth team players, will hopefully unite the squad. No stone is being left un-turned in the pursuit of 'success'. So why am I so nervous? Maybe because I haven't seen them play yet? Maybe a few good, early league wins will settle my nerves? What ever it is, this World Cup distraction isn't helping. Born in 67, so I've always been let down by England. But now I could see Forest in the PL and England win the World Cup. I think I might explode. 😁.

1.) 09 Jul 2018 11:53:26
A world cup win and promotion this, two things that I thought I would never see inky lifetime

2.) 09 Jul 2018 12:50:01
I'd be grateful for 4th place in the WC and a top 10 finish!!

3.) 09 Jul 2018 13:19:07
There's only room for a no1 or a no2 in the "WC"πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

4.) 09 Jul 2018 13:44:29
Sswe anything less than top 6 I am sure would be considered unacceptable to the owner given the level of investment

5.) 09 Jul 2018 13:51:47
Now who pooh poohed that one??😁😁

6.) 09 Jul 2018 20:30:55
With improving performances and results, fans expectations rise. Before all of the signings I'd have been quite happy with a top ten finish. I am now wanting more. Does that make greedy? Regarding England ,pre tournament I would have been happy to get through the group but now I want the world cup to come home!

7.) 09 Jul 2018 20:37:23
No just makes you like the owners.
Top ten won't do playoffs at least

8.) 09 Jul 2018 21:01:34
Don't think I've ever felt this optimistic about my country and my beloved reds :)

9.) 09 Jul 2018 21:09:23
On a serious note it is looking good Daz on both counts ,really looking forward to Wednesday and Sunday and then holiday and then the new season.

10.) 09 Jul 2018 21:14:36
I don't really care about England winning the World Cup as long as Forest get promoted. Or at least have a good go at it.

11.) 09 Jul 2018 21:41:01
Phsyco,season don't start for a month,lets win one thing at a time.
World cup is massive,I was nine last time we won it and want to see it again,it gives the whole country a boost and won't affect what we do next season, which with the signings looks good.
One thing at a time my friend starting with the world cup.
Come on.

12.) 09 Jul 2018 22:27:43
Agreed ff799 forest now seem to have all there ducks in a row isn't it nice to sit back and watch other teams struggle with ffp like the sheep and villa who are finding it tough going even stoke are saying we will be promoted strait back boro thought that and we know what happened there

13.) 09 Jul 2018 22:49:27
It is 52 first let's win this world cup.πŸ‘πŸ‘

14.) 10 Jul 2018 09:09:39
If I had a choice I would prefer us promoted over and England world cup win. because i'm irish haha. best of luck tomorrow night lads.

15.) 10 Jul 2018 09:29:53
Mucser it's really good to see so many NFFC fans from the Island of Ireland on this forum. Some our most talented players in the past have come from the emerald isle. Long may it continue! YOU REDS!!

16.) 10 Jul 2018 18:23:29
Hope you guys win too!!! However if Forest get to the promised land,I'll lose the plot!! In fact ill be sitting in my front garden with a pair of pants on my head, complete with two pipe cleaners up my nose, shouting "Wibble!!"πŸŽ–οΈπŸŽ–οΈπŸŽ–οΈ

17.) 11 Jul 2018 10:39:57
As long as you don't get the colly wobbles or you'll end up in your local pound πŸ˜‚

18.) 11 Jul 2018 10:55:36
Slightly off topic but has anyone heard where the team will play their Spanish friendlies? Cheers

19.) 11 Jul 2018 11:24:32
Heard they're training in Marbella is all I know , Fuenguerola meself on sat maybe I'll nip over get a look if they're still around 😁

Kev Campbell doing a football talk in Kirkby, Liverpool this Friday. The Evertonians love him, hoping to get a Forest shirt signed. Wish me πŸ€ luck. πŸ‘.

1.) 21 Mar 2019 20:19:08
It is not April the 1st yet.

16 Mar 2019 19:13:27
The Emperor's New Clothes, springs to mind. I hope the owners stay interested. Hope springs eternal, then reality bites. Just not good enough. Summer holidays booked. 😎.

1.) 16 Mar 2019 19:35:45
Couldn't blame him for losing interest could you?
He provided the funds to have a real go at it this term and looks at the table and sees Preston, Wednesday and Bristol above us.
Shocking really after what he's invested!

2.) 16 Mar 2019 19:55:31
The emperors new clothes was one I used ages ago with regard to carvallho, some on here seem blind to his obvious shortcomings and keep making excuses for him

16 Mar 2019 09:07:47
Should we win at a battling Ipswich today, we cling onto the hope of a top 6 finish. Villa, Preston and Sheff Wed all have form at the business end of the season. There results will be key. I'm hoping that Dawson, Figs and Grabban will be back after the International break. April is a massive month for the club, away to both Sheff clubs and home to Boro, will make or break us. I'm not predicting wins in the other fixtures, I don't want to tempt fate. Just looking at teams above and around us, the 6 pointer games, dreaming of dragging ourselves up the table not being pulled down by the likes of Rotherham and Swansea. FTID.

13 Mar 2019 22:11:51
Stopped Grealish and Abraham, forgot about McGinn - one that got away. Doh. Nearly time to plan for next season but I'm not giving up yet. FTID.

1.) 13 Mar 2019 22:32:14
They are a good side Scouse, they have talent all over the park, grealish is the difference though,it's no coincidence they couldn't win without him.
He is there escape route and can hold the ball, dribbles, buys free kicks, very clever player and will go on to better things.

2.) 13 Mar 2019 22:33:10
Thought tonight was shocking apart from colbacks cross cum shot never looked liked scoring no forest player stood out for me very dissapointed simply not good enough start rebuilding for next season the one highlight 29000 in the ground

3.) 13 Mar 2019 23:20:06
Grealish spends the game talking too much. What is he gassing about? He keeps cuddling opposition players,( except Pele who was clearly flirting with him). Maybe he liked his shapely shin pad free legs.

Seriously though: MON had a game plan that could have worked but sadly Villa looked to have more class than us. After 5 mins you could feel the game had gone.
It won't dampen my anticipation for Saturday. It will be the only game where I see the Reds in the flesh this season. Can't beat the feeling I get when the players run out and I am actually there staring at them-wonderful! After all these years still love it.
If only we had won tonight.

13 Mar 2019 17:00:17
Two great European champions, battling it out in a massive game and couldn't be separated last time. What do you think about tonight's game, I ask the scousers? Well Bayern will be tough. no, you dopes Forest v Villa. COYR, keep the season alive.

1.) 13 Mar 2019 17:44:27
Reckon it will end up 10-10!!!

2.) 13 Mar 2019 18:11:01
Rogie 4-1 forest get your Guinness flowing

FF, if the only thing that MON and RK learned from BC was build from the back, we're in safe hands. Would like more goals and control in games but obvious they're just getting the best out of the squad at their disposal. I would also suggest they are keeping it simple and back to basics, no more confused players on the pitch! Long may it continue and more than happy to make my charitable donation, especially if top 6 is achieved. COYR.

I'll drink to that πŸ‘. Agree, promoted no but top 6 in an average year was achievable and is still possible. For the record, you can shove your possession and 'controlling the game' bs, a win is a win and I'll take the 3 points everyday. FTID.

Again, missing the point. The change is the problem, not who was in charge or any dislike of MON (as if). The opportunity of top 6 became even more difficult with the timing of the upheaval at the club. If we are galvanised by MON/RK and achieve a top 6 finish, I will be as ecstatic as every Forest fan. I just have a nagging doubt that we've shot ourselves in the foot. Give me 3 or 4 wins on the bounce and my faith in the owners will be restored. Top 6 at the end of the season and the change was the right decision, anything less and we'll never know if it was a bad one.

Fickle fans eh? Make your minds up are they all dross to clear out or a competitive squad needing a 'better' manager to get the best out of them?

The club brings the players in, not the manager. The manager picks the team (we hope), formation and style of play. We have a lot of pieces from lots of jigsaws, MON has replaced AK but we still can't make a complete picture of a team. We've lost some pieces to injury/suspension, tried to force some in and apparently lost a few. Results? Up and down, as they have been all season. Only bonus is between the 2 management teams, we've enough points to avoid a relegation battle. From an owners perspective, football on the pitch, 5/10. Peed money up the wall, for little return. Off the pitch, 8/10. Maybe this is where the owners should concentrate their expertise?
