I mentioned a few weeks back, that getting to 50 points was going to be tough. Barring stellar signings, that thought hasn't changed. We are in a fortunate position where 4 or 5 teams are worse than us but with 6 pointers to play, that could change. I'm not going to sugar coat the situation but AK needs to find some steel for our defense and get some points on the board.

MW's style of play was not suited to our players or our current league position, we need AK to address this. Another concern is the lack of goals in the league, what's the story with Murphy? His purchase and contract aren't looking great decisions at present. With Cummings seemingly going, McKay peripheral, Darikwa not good enough and Dowell dipping in form, our summer business isn't shaping up. I hope AK can dig up some warriors, up for the fight and the owners back him. If not, we're still not out of danger. FTID.

1.) 14 Jan 2018 19:57:34
If Brereton's going (and I hope not) I hope he goes through the door and not "the window". as he'd be no use to anyone!!! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

2.) 14 Jan 2018 20:03:28
Murphy has a back problem.

3.) 14 Jan 2018 19:54:02
Very true scouse.
Those you mentioned are Warburtons signings.
AK needs to offload a few players and get replacements permitting funds.
He has a huge task ahead but he needs time.

4.) 14 Jan 2018 20:21:16
Yep he wants to be back in Ireland with his family, especially now Ireland are out of the world cup?
Came here to play regular got back in their side and now the dream is over, just a theory?

10 Jan 2018 13:01:41
Back to the serious business of the league. Does anyone think AK will make many changes v Villa? Worrall suspended, so Mills or Fox as a straight swap? Does he give credit to the team who played so well or stamp his authority on the squad from day 1? Interesting dilemma. Regarding transfers, I don't expect any movement for at least a week. Big boys will start spending soon, then we'll get the trickle down effect. Result for Sat? Honestly take a draw now but hope to win 2-1, didn't Villa beat Bristol City 5-0 recently, tough league. 😐.

1.) 10 Jan 2018 13:43:04
Tough one to call, everyone who played on Sunday deserves to start but i suppose AK will want to stamp his mark on the team but i think we will beat villa with confidence high and the new manager syndrome

2.) 10 Jan 2018 14:44:23
He'll probably listen to what Brazil has to tell him about the squad, then see how training goes.
Barring injuries can't see much change in team selection.

3.) 10 Jan 2018 18:26:55
In my opinion all A K will do is reorganise the team to play his way.

Any team that did as well as the lads did in the Cup deserve to start.

4.) 11 Jan 2018 17:46:57
AK generally played a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 which is pretty much what we have been playing so doubt much will change.
I am hoping Fox is fit to replace Worral as I personally Mills is not good enough for Championship any more and is too slow and I think he is trying the Andy Reid diet of late.
I guess the only other change could be Bridcutt could come back in depending on how Vaughan is feeling or if anyone has a niggle or will AK try Carayol who he knows from his time at Boro, it would be very harsh if anyone who played Sunday is left out unless they have a knock or suspension.

04 Jan 2018 12:08:56
It's very quiet from the club, calm before the storm? Maybe our new manager hasn't the pedigree we'd hoped for? Time will tell, let's see what players he brings in, what sort of results and performances he inspires. Then after 10 or so games, question the boards decision? Or hopefully see some progress and start dreaming for next season. FTID.

1.) 04 Jan 2018 14:36:21
yes and as per normal we call for his head the first losing run we go on!!!

2.) 04 Jan 2018 16:58:39
Guys, myself and a workmate,(who's also a Forest supporter) are hoping to get to the Forest V Brum match (march 3rd) any info regarding hotels, pubs etc, would be greatly appreciated!!

3.) 04 Jan 2018 17:05:56
You could try the jury's in rogie.
They are usually good value and not too far to the ground or city centre.
Pubs everywhere mate.

4.) 04 Jan 2018 18:22:54
Happy Days mate. cheers!!

5.) 04 Jan 2018 19:26:28
The Brittania is reasonable, close to the city centre(on Maid Marion Way) and is the rarest of hotel's as it has some smoking rooms (if you are that way inclined)

6.) 04 Jan 2018 20:19:20
Let us know when your here I'll buy a pint.🍻🍻🍻

24 Dec 2017 22:26:31
Ok, I think I'm a fair and level headed fan, usually. Can someone educate me as to what a fair and reasonable timescale is expected, for a professional footballer, to 'adapt' to a new style of play? As far as I'm concerned, if you haven't worked it out by now, then MW is flogging a dead horse.

If in business, a new process is needed to succeed and your employee can't or won't pick it up after 5 months and your paying them what Β£5k to Β£15k per week? Sorry, time to get rid. Stop pandering to the over paid prima donnas, if they can't do it now, then they never will. Interesting transfer window, will MW move on all the players he doesn't trust to deliver his 'vision'? . FTID.

1.) 25 Dec 2017 10:03:16
Watch a Premiership game: it's all about speed and pace, everyone good at passing, all good at positioning, and defenders who can tackle and then move the ball accurately up front letting the midfielders into the game. It's one touch stuff and at present we only have Dowell who can do it, so the others have a long way to go to catch up, and to be honest many of them never will. We need centre backs like Maguire, Stones, Company, and they are like hen's teeth. MW is looking for a mindset which is about confidence and fluidity so he's asking a lot from who we have got - the young ones are trying to do it, the older ones are a bit stuck in the past and usually tempted to hoof the ball out rather than making defence into attack. Once we master the technique and the skill level we will be challenging for promotion. Four more good additions in the right places and we'll be looking at Top Six.

2.) 25 Dec 2017 12:44:18

I think you are making it sound to simple.

Warburton wants the team to play a passing game, to get the best out of that way of playing takes technical skill, that can take years to learn.

You also do not seem to take in account young players learning to cope with media pressures.

Off course there are some players that will need to go but Warburton was not able to get rid of all of them in the Summer.

3.) 25 Dec 2017 13:41:41
When and if our young players get to a certain level history shows they are allowed to leave ,this is a big reason we,ve spent so long in the wilderness and with the cash available in the PL this won,t change!

4.) 25 Dec 2017 15:09:03
I think we will look back and agree that MW played a masterstroke signing Dowell. Far from holding back the development of our younger players and Clough he is showing them the way to play one touch passing football.

Against Preston some of his first touches were sublime. Hopefully our work in progess will learn to make the runs BEFORE he gets the ball played into him and lays it off?

We have no hope of keeping him as he will be in the England team once he gets some Premiership matches under his belt.

3-1 win against the Owls. COYR's

5.) 25 Dec 2017 15:24:48

No one is doubting Dowell's ability, but he could be holding Clough back, our coaching staff should be improving our lads technique all the time.

6.) 25 Dec 2017 19:29:01
Our players need game time.
I understand the need for loan players but why should we give players from other teams game time when we have quality in our squad.
Given game time Clough could be a capable player but seems frozen out the squad.
I agree with grey. We need to mould our players and not enhance loanees.
Dowell will return a better and stronger player whilst our own suffer in the doldrums.

7.) 25 Dec 2017 22:13:35
The difference is Dowell has the touch and ability coupled with vision and play with his head up. He may not be a Sam type player so you never know we might woo him if he loves us enough!!!!

8.) 26 Dec 2017 03:59:28
Rutland red1

Even if sam does not want him, we can afford him.

20 Dec 2017 13:24:10
Ben Woodburn next to be linked by NP. Makes sense, needs game time, Nottingham born and McParland knows him from his time at Liverpool. I know the negative would be taking a place from one of our own but better players in the squad, especially young, hungry ones, must inspire our own youngsters. Prefer it if we were linked to a few more defenders though.

1.) 20 Dec 2017 20:08:47
Be no point in Woodburn, can't see it either. we play one up front can't see him being able to lead the line.
All it would do is keep Brereton on the sidelines.
I'd rather see no signings in January than young kids on loan.

2.) 20 Dec 2017 20:34:02
Don't knock young kids on loan FF79.
Without Dowell's goals this season we would be in big trouble.

3.) 20 Dec 2017 21:47:15
That's weird Fred cus on the banter site you say you'd prefer more experience? Hmm?

4.) 20 Dec 2017 21:58:19
Read it again mate but properly this time!
I said I would prefer more experience for a "defender in the championship.

5.) 20 Dec 2017 22:07:17
So what's the difference between needing an experienced defensive player, but it's ok to have young forward players?
We have mostly experienced defenders already, barring Worrall.
Read mine again,I'd rather not sign any young loan players, they stop our own from progressing.

6.) 20 Dec 2017 23:52:44
We ain't got a leader in the back line so I'd personally prefer someone with experience at the back to lead rather than follow.
It doesn't mean nor did I state that I would be against utilising the lad Salter from Chelsea if it came about even though I know very little about him.
Dowell on the other hand was known to me due to several Everton fans I know holding him in such high regard.
Like I said without Dowell's goals this season we would no doubt be far worse off. A good percentage of his goals have not come from good team play but have been thrashed in from absolutely nowhere.
Is he holding back our own youngsters or has he been a blessing in disguise?
Hope that clears it up for you mate.

7.) 21 Dec 2017 09:17:18
Why do need more loan players that are not our own stock?
We don't need to nurture other clubs possible future starlets.
With FF on this one, the club needs experience not youngsters.
We need tough players with grit in their teeth when on the on the ball not young pups who like bambi will fall at a slight tap.
Experienced proven players please.

8.) 21 Dec 2017 10:14:45
We've had more than enough loan players o we the last few seasons and 90% were useless,So let's sign players permanently or go without.
There's no future in loan players.
Dowell has stopped clough from being given a run in the side.
You can't build sides with loans, they should only be bought in to cover for long term injuries

9.) 21 Dec 2017 13:03:47
Totally agree FF as good as dowell is our own Clough is left out.
Personally loans are good in a dire emergency and not as a buffer to give playing time to players from other teams.
Seems a common trend for a short term fix where both parties benefit.

10.) 21 Dec 2017 14:53:52
Zach Clough lol!
I know, a prem team offers us one of their players on loan but we turn it down without even trying him because it means Zach Clough won't get a game.
Warburton obviously see's it differently.
Maybe It's a height issue cus let's face it if Osborn,Vaughan,Bridcutt,McKay and Clough were all on the team sheet the opposition wouldn't know if they were getting a game of football or a tour of Charlie's chocolate factory!

11.) 21 Dec 2017 15:25:42
Loans are well and and serve a purpose but it also hampers the development of our players who we paid for in transfers fee etc.
Clough can be become good if developed but at the minute he's frozen out by Dowell. A loan signing.
Swings and roundabouts I'm afraid.
I think Warburton likes players smaller than him because of 2 things. heres my theory.
Warburton doesn't have big burly players because the sheer physical presence of big lads makes him less powerful.
Talking to hobbit sized players means he can throw smaller objects during pep talks causing more damage to the players thus causing minimal damage in the changing room.
Also the hobbit sized players of forest have feet devoloped for walking on grass bare footed and they are not used to having boots on them making the pass the ball to one other rather than upfield.
Besides hobbits are renowned for their lazy tenacious behaviour and lack of of physical attributes ie weird feet, small body structure, inability to take on board simple commands and Last but not least they lack the will to fight and would give in at first signs of defeat.

12.) 21 Dec 2017 15:42:22
Hahaha🀣. That had me in stitches Fbb! Cheered me up on a boring last day at work.

13.) 21 Dec 2017 22:05:12
It must be very lonely caretaking at Fawaz Towers for you to come out with guff like that!
Rumour has it you have been blocked on your local Stoke City forum for speaking FBB?

Karanka now favourite

3.) 08 Jan 2018 15:37:07
Totally agree Redman there was no hesitation in his voice when he said it wudnt be him. It would be a total knee jerk reaction, keep him where he thrives and benefits the future of forest.

Friends who are Everton fans want him back, I've told them he's not ready for the Prem. Finishing the season for us will give him a good grounding, getting on the bench and first team minutes at Everton is up to him. Looks like he is still 'growing up' to me and hopefully he plays even better for Forest, for the rest of the season.

Tbf to the owners, they bought a poorly run, loss making business. Yes we can still be called a 'sleeping giant' of the football world and the owners have taken a punt on that potential. Should any players get sold, my only gripe would be if there was no re-investment.

Our academy is our main source of income and sadly we will see many players sold, before we see the best of them in a Forest shirt. Reality bites but there is a chance that the owners vision includes keeping the best ones. I hope so but accept if a few have to go to keep us a viable business, then it is what it is. FTID.
