Great read Ed001! Plus spot on with regard to fans being the life blood of football. Coaches today have lost the plot, with the side to side, side to back football. I watched Man City v Chelski yesterday, omg, what is with the playing out from the back.

Goalkeeper suicide, defenders who can't pass a football, and no intent on going forwards.
If fans stop going to watch games, if fans stop paying Sky, there will be no football to watch. Stop the negative tactics, play football and entertain the fans please!

{Ed001's Note - thank you Tedtree, and I agree fully, the fans are being shafted.}

I had to turn Man City off after 15 mins Redtree. Sideways backwards. Unwatchable.
Oh for the Newcastle Keegan side v Liverpool games. Just a beautiful watch every game.

To be fair if sides as small as Bournemouth can play exciting forward thinking football why can't the rest? Even Leeds are looking decent on the eye. That goal for DCL that won goal of the month was a class team effort. Only one of the so called top teams play exciting football imo and that's Arsenal and that's mainly due to the world class wide players they have.

As for City, tippy tappy sh@te, imagine that group of players playing front foot high press and intensity a la Klopps style. Would be unbeatable. ?.

Good post Ed and an interesting read. I hadn’t really heard much about Slot unlike Klopp began to recommend him as his successor, so I guess praise doesn’t get any better than that. Do Slots previous teams play the same way? If his tactics might be a loss of nerve?

{Ed001's Note - his tactics were different, he used in essence 4 centre-backs at the back, the wide ones would invert. He looked to get down the sides and cut the ball back.}

Ed, I wonder why Slot has changed what’s worked for him in the past?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know and I don't understand it. But he has also moved away from using youth players, now he barely uses them. Seems like the pressure has got to him.}
