I'm hearing rumours we've re signed Sam Surridge? Anybody else heard this or is it a windup?
I thought he did well for us by the way.
1.) 01 Feb 2025 01:26:44
Right now I'd take him over Taiwo and if Everton are serious about taking him off us its got to be win win.
23 May 2024 17:14:18
There's talk linking us with De Zerbi. So long as it's not his much less successful Championship brother De Derbi. ????.
14 Jan 2024 21:25:35
Paul Taylor of the Athletic says we are to be informed we are in breach of FFP tomorrow. He's not usually wrong. ???.
1.) 14 Jan 2024 22:12:34
50 quid fine ?.
2.) 15 Jan 2024 12:12:55
Wrist slap, after appeal. ?.
3.) 15 Jan 2024 12:23:23
I d add quite a few noughts to that Skegs if I were you mate! And that’s if we are lucky. It’s loss of points that will kill us…….
4.) 16 Jan 2024 01:50:21
“The name of the club doesn't matter. Every club should be treated equally under the rules set out.
“But the elephant in the room isn't being addressed. 115 charges, zero action. Why? ”.
5.) 16 Jan 2024 09:32:22
There's a cult developing In this fanbase. Some fans am have fallen for the clueless and wreckless owners nonesense about ambition while breaking rules he voted to make last year at the long term expenses of the club. Thankgod for ffp to protect the long term future of clubs from bad ownership. Show some real ambition Instead of being nodding dogs to mariankiss, he sells anyone good buys a team for the money he gets and says that ambition, the ground was announced five years ago nothing, we are a laughing stock under him. Get these out while we're prem and hope for proper owners from USA or suadi.
6.) 16 Jan 2024 18:27:39
My nonsense-meter is twitching!
Owners take a calculated risk to stay in the Prem. Get accused of being wreckless when it works. Fans like being in the Prem are called members of a cult.
The solution: Get owners like the ones at Man United (Glazers? ) or Man city (109 charges and run a country where women celebrate being ALLOWED to drive in 2018),
Forstphil, what team do you support?
7.) 16 Jan 2024 22:23:12
Forestphil1234 - what a load of tosh!
21 Dec 2023 11:18:06
I don't usually pay much credence to the comments of Jamie Carragher aka Spit the Punk Dog, but the NEP s reported conversation between him and SC is very interesting and worth a read. It's a good summation of SCs "nightmare"situation under Marinkinakos ( and presumably that situation will be continued under Nunez).
It would appear that SC had no idea of what players ( and in what numbers) would be arriving at the club, despite his oft repeated mantra that he, the owner and the recruitment team were all supposedly "reading off the same page"?
It might be a rare glimpse behind the scenes at our beloved club before the media gag is imposed as part of the terms of SCs payoff.
1.) 21 Dec 2023 12:21:52
Tough to see SC go and we have to remain positive about Nuno. Did a great job with Wolves so just got to see how the City ground welcomes him saturday.
Transfers wise, realistically, we sell McKenna and Worrall unless they are given a chance by Nuno. I think we cancel the loans for Montiel, Tavares, santos and origi - they have offered us nothing all season.
Maybe sell Boly as he hates Nuno from their time at wolves and maybe sell Felipe due to injuries (hard for me to say this) but he's a strong leader in the group.
We sign Nino from Fluminense (centre half linked with) and get Omobamidele involved more with 1st team squad
The midfield is sound and we cover - Yates and Mangala start.
We buy another winger who has PL experience to compete with Hudson-Odoi and Elanga (Sancho on loan but doubt that will happen! ) and then we buy a striker. Maybe try and get the lad Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart for 17.5m release clause but he may go elsewhere. Keep Wood as a last minute backup ready for Awoniyi.
2.) 21 Dec 2023 14:12:18
I don't get why we keep going on about players coming in are not the managers choice, it been like that for years now thier is not one manager out their that has control over the players that come in.
A manager years ago would go and scout the player themselves and go back to the owner or chairman and say who they wanted, however we don't have managers anymore they are HEAD COACH who are just told to train the players and its done to the director or football who we bring in, and it's also a lot to do with agents who in my opinion have spoilt the game.
3.) 21 Dec 2023 15:14:21
Lower BC, that’s why we willl never attract any great coaches. Can you imagine Klopp, Pep or Arteta putting up with the interference like SC has had to? Hence, the merry go round of new appointments.
4.) 21 Dec 2023 18:12:51
Do you really think they have that much say on who comes in aswell, good example kelvin Philips great prospect went to man city and has sat on the bench, he was not peps choice of player and it shows pep didn't want him, arteta never wanted ramesdale his first choice was alway raya.
We won't attract no big coach at the moment due to not finishing high enough in the league and no European football.
Who is a top class coach you would like to see though being our head coach, for me I would like Marco rose.
{Ed001's Note - neither of those examples are true, both Pep and Arteta have full control of recruitment.}
5.) 21 Dec 2023 19:40:32
Thought so Ed1. What’s the recruitment agreement at Liverpool with Klopp?
{Ed001's Note - he has final say.}
14 Mar 2023 18:08:56
Dennis also I guess before Ayew. Though, as I say, none of those replacements have pulled any trees up this season . ?.

Curses! Some posters on here would have been right at predicted defeat by 5 or 6 goals but for that pesky Dyche defensive masterclass! ??
Ok, not one for all you football purists out there but we were disciplined, organised and hardworking ( and we are starting to look much fitter and stronger going into the last 10 minutes ( the much derided hard yards).
The atmosphere was electric from start to finish and the players drew energy from that and looked pumped up.
That point could be very very important at the end of the season. I’m hoping we maintain that level of performance against Braga ( and more importantly Brentford). I said before the game a draw would be an excellent result against one of the best teams in the world and undoubted Champions this season.
As a footnote, just look at the value and quality of the subs they brought on, compared to ours. Arsenal inhabit an entirely different football world. COYR!
1.) 18 Jan 2026 12:41:43
Yeah, there were some great performance yesterday, Anderson looked fresh and was at it right from the start.
Dominguez spent absolutely everything yesterday for the cause, well played lads great point well earned.
Lets hope they can follow it up with a similar performance away at Brentford in the league next Sunday.
11 Jan 2026 19:15:22
Red Robin, in a belated light bulb moment I’ve just posted an explanation for a post of mine which you may have taken the wrong way inadvertently on my part, from yesterday mate…….
1.) 11 Jan 2026 23:53:43
Hey Stokey, don't worry mate, i was being a d**k for my part in all the shenanigans anyway. But yeah the Cloughie part went straight over my head. ?.
2.) 12 Jan 2026 11:32:39
Red Robin, my profound apologies. Entirely my fault mate……?.
3.) 12 Jan 2026 13:21:11
Lol stick a sock in it Dino Dyche lover?, twas all banter anyway. If you want you can think what you like about yourself, not for any of us lower peasants to judge. ??.
4.) 12 Jan 2026 14:14:38
??????.
11 Jan 2026 14:18:58
Looks like we’ve retained the Brian Clough Trophy for another year………????.
10 Jan 2026 16:22:31
As I appear to be causing much irritation and offence on here I hereby apologise and promise to cease and desist. I’m confident that my predictions regarding SD will be proved right at the end of the season ( as I was right about SC). But, time will tell and I won’t confuse those whose minds are made up with any facts as to progress made.
My golden rule of banter is that if you can’t take it, you shouldn’t dish it out but so be it.
By the way, the dinosaurs were an extraordinarily successful life form, existing for around 200 million years ( in fact when you next see birds in your garden you can see their avian descendants are still around to this day). The large dinosaurs were only destroyed by the unavoidable impact of asteroid (s).
The supposedly more advanced species of Homo sapiens have been around for around 2 million years and will probably destroy themselves by either nuclear war or climate change….
Most us on here support Forest so let’s enjoy it while we can comrades.
1.) 10 Jan 2026 17:21:53
I think people forget where we were when Dyche arrived. In the relegation zone.
After the Ange disaster we needed someone to steady the ship and keep us up. If he does that. Mission acomplished. And we should applaud him.
He is what he is. Your not going to get champagne football (like Ange) but its all about results. If you look at our first or best team it is exactly the same as last year minus Elanga and Wood. So all that money spent and the only teo who have at times showed us something is Hutchinson and Luiz. You can't blame Dyche for that.
All that said whatever happens I doubt SD will see out his contract.
2.) 10 Jan 2026 17:23:08
Never apologise Stokey, for anything as you always say what is in your own mind and feel correct. I am 100% an SD supporter as I also was SC. There is no doubt we will end up mid to lower table. Our problem is the players that will then feel they have achieved all they can at the City Ground. Who would blame, Anderson, MGW and Murillo if they moved on.
Personally I believe McAtee was bought as a potential replacement for Anderson or MGW.
One aspect of Nunos time is he came in when a squad had gelled with SC. This has happened this season at Brentford. Next season there will be big changes and SD is needed to gel the squad together.
3.) 10 Jan 2026 17:40:06
Good and thoughtful posts, Nono and 67. I don’t apologise for my views only for any personal offence they may have caused.
Anyway, back to my armchair navigation with a glass of malt whiskey, woodburner on and heading for the coast of Chile and Peru on HMS Surprise in “ The 13 Gun Salute”!
I give you joy, shipmates! ??.
4.) 10 Jan 2026 17:42:44
You obviously can't take it stokie or you would keep having a pop at individuals and their views, when they differ from yours. You say you will be proved right at the end of the season.
Well I say you won't. So let's see. Your pro SD, I'm anti SD. We don't need an History lesson to explain it just watch it unfold. One of us will be proven right.
5.) 10 Jan 2026 17:50:40
???? nonodyche heard it all now.
6.) 10 Jan 2026 18:44:12
Stokey grow a pair for gods sake. Sticks and stones mate, would have thought that in your career you faced a lot worse than Ballons, Skegs, DTP and myself not agreeing with you. ??.
7.) 10 Jan 2026 19:23:09
Please don't apologise. Varying opinions are what make this site interesting. While we may not agree with every post, it's valuable to hear different perspectives.
8.) 10 Jan 2026 19:24:12
Stokey - you're a dinosaur, just admit it. OK you may be intelligent, humorous, learned, well-measured, a staunch supporter and very good company to be with. However, you need to bow to others' opinions on here as they are always right. I would have thought that by now you would have realised that the likes of Larry and DTP are the font of all human wisdom - and, as such, never wrong.
Apart from Larry constantly misspelling your username (unless that is deliberate? ).
9.) 10 Jan 2026 19:30:19
Never change Stokey mate!
10.) 10 Jan 2026 19:59:04
He wasn't lever enough to make inspector lego ??.
11.) 10 Jan 2026 20:11:40
You haven't made yourself look"CLEVER " there balloons ??.
12.) 10 Jan 2026 20:12:52
But he can spell the word 'clever' correctly Larry.
13.) 10 Jan 2026 20:29:11
Well, I did make Acting Inspector a period long enough to get a rollicking good Inspectors pension but I didn’t have enough “lever” to make it any higher mate! You missed off the “c “ as in C’nt my friend. ????
Don’t worry about me comrades I’ll be sniping from behind the grassy knoll…. In Dychey we trust……. ??.
14.) 10 Jan 2026 20:46:34
There's no "we" in dychey though.
15.) 10 Jan 2026 20:54:46
I'll be sniping at you from the grassy knoll if you keep using the word 'comrades' on here Stokey. You make it sound like a communist-loving, lefty-besty forum!
16.) 10 Jan 2026 22:12:39
Offensive? You’re definitely not offensive.
17.) 10 Jan 2026 22:23:23
Point taken Shipmate……. ??.
10 Jan 2026 13:48:45
Strand Larson just completed a hat trick? Only Shrewsbury but just saying…. Let’s get him and Dwight O Neil signed and rid of Zinchenko, Anoniyi, McAteer, Morato ( and Edu) ….
1.) 10 Jan 2026 14:19:24
Please note non League Macclesfield beat Crystal Palace. Oh dear! on the logic of members on this site he destined to be sacked!
2.) 10 Jan 2026 14:57:18
Please note, Glasner has credit in the bank, whereas Dyche doesn't. ?.
3.) 10 Jan 2026 15:06:02
Nono I don't care about palace or anyone else that gets knocked out of tge cup it doesn't disguise the fact we played shite and have been playing shite for months simples.
4.) 10 Jan 2026 15:29:36
The last thing we need is any more of your suggestions stokie. Your still drooling over the appointment if Dyche and look where that's got us.
5.) 10 Jan 2026 15:48:52
Oh dear, Red Robin, Skeggs and Larry Balloons ( by the way welcome back my dear old thing), Glasner has 2 years “credit” in the bank because that’s how long he’s had to shape the team ( or to put it another simpler way, that’s 4 transfer windows to acquire the players he wants and 2 pre seasons to coach them into his way of playing and develop them).
Dyche has been here less than 3 months and this January is his first window, obviously no pre season.
Still, let’s not let the facts get in the way of a good old whinge eh? ……. ??.
6.) 10 Jan 2026 16:23:22
Keep banging the drum for Dyche stokie and i will keep saying we are going nowhere under him. Let's see who is proven right. Simple.
7.) 10 Jan 2026 16:31:14
Well said Stokie.
8.) 10 Jan 2026 16:35:02
Huh? So taking all the laughing emojis out of the conversation you actually agree we me? Yes success brings you credit and yes success and Dyche are two words that will never belong together. ?.
9.) 10 Jan 2026 16:38:34
Dyche has no day in transfers though stokey
Thought you would of realised that by now
Hes the coach nothing else.
10.) 10 Jan 2026 16:45:22
I think your forgetting one massive thing stokie dyche is a coach he will get what players edu decides to give him he won't get is own players remember that's why nuno left I have more chance of getting 6 numbers on the lottery tonight than dyche ever doing any good with us.
11.) 10 Jan 2026 17:44:57
They’re not laughing emojis Red Robin, you should go to Specsavers my friend. This is what a laughing emoji looks like ?
As you say, we will sit down at the end of the season, talk about it, then decide I was right!
12.) 10 Jan 2026 18:50:21
Yeah fair play, funnily enough i wasn't wearing my glasses ?.
Never wrong ayy, superiority complex?, clearly you can't debate with people having differing views to your own. Typical copper. ?.
13.) 10 Jan 2026 22:13:11
Talk about good cop, bad cop red Robin?
You should join the bomb squad with that short fuse.
14.) 10 Jan 2026 22:27:42
Like I say Red Hot, golden rule of banter ( and life ) mate. If you dish it out you’ve got to be prepared to take it my friend……?.
15.) 10 Jan 2026 23:22:12
Once again fair enough ??.
16.) 11 Jan 2026 17:25:03
Red Robin, I’ve only just realised that you didn’t realise my above post about being right was an affectionate ( and self deprecatory) imitation of Brian Clough’s famous quote when asked how disputes with his players were dealt with.
You do know that don’t you? It wasn’t meant to come across as me being arrogant and superior.
21 Jan 2026 18:07:28
Do you actually watch any Reds games Cyclist?
Or you just believe the propaganda? Genuine question mate …….
21 Jan 2026 11:52:57
Cyclist “Dyches long ball 80’s football”? Not again, thought I’d put that to bed, where I’m off to now ????????.
17 Jan 2026 11:50:40
Cyclist, in a recent post to Ed 1 I did predict that Palace would be dragged into the relegation scrap if they lost more key players ( like Eze) and I mentioned Wharton and Guehi by name. The fact that Glasner, an excellent manager, has now stated he is off in the summer is an additional bonus for us.
However, I think he would rather nail his own gonads to a wooden fence than work for an “erratic” owner like ours. Besides which, there will be no vacancy to fill……. ?? ?.
14 Jan 2026 08:59:51
???.
13 Jan 2026 21:02:56
Red Robin, no mate I don’t know anything about Taremi. I know much more about Strand Larson having seen him play a few times. I think he might do a job for us but I’m only guessing here. Who knows what Edu and the recruitment team have lined up as Woody replacement. But SD will have told them what he wants.
22 Jan 2026 16:26:23
Someone please, please kill
me now……. ???????….
22 Jan 2026 16:24:57
I don’t know much about Braga or their pitch Mossy but modern pitches tend to be well drained and not prone to turning into quagmires.
Any long balls aerially tend to zip off a wet surface and go out for a throw or through to the keeper.
But as we don’t play a long ball game anyway, it’s irrelevant……????????.
22 Jan 2026 16:21:27
???????Same old, same old eh Skegs and Larry….
21 Jan 2026 21:17:03
Talking about wrong predictions Skeggs you made quite a few mate. But don’t worry, it’ll be a case of “ Alls Well That Ends Well” this season my friend ……??.
21 Jan 2026 20:25:34
I think Keeff we need “ The Taming of Edu” before we can move on to mid table safety when all this fuss with be “Much Ado About Nothing” and the supposed sacking of SD just “ A Midsummer Nights Dream”. We might even be able to play football “ As You Like It” ……????.
