Crystal Palace are in advanced talks with Manchester United about Wilfred Zaha. £2m loan fee up front and first option to buy permanent if Zaha don't fit into any future plans of United.

Got to be honest and say I'm not really bothered to be fair. Don't get me wrong, Zaha is a decent enough player, but do we really need him? No, I don't think we do. And as others have already stated, I would prefer to splash the cash on getting Lansbury to accept a new deal, as he is easily on a par with Zaha - in fact, better if you ask me. Lansbury is a battler, and as tough as they come when it comes to tackling, and his footballing brain is almost unequalled in the Forest team; I would say Lansbury, Reidy and Cohen are our creative force, able to turn games on a dime and conjur something from nothing. So we don't need Zaha. just my two-penneth worth! Lol

Totally agree mate if we need the likes of Zaha we will bring that type of player
We will do it in January for the final push for automatic promotion.
At mo we've got plenty attacking options in Antonio pato Burke Britt lars fryatt plus goals from Reid Lansbury.
Sooner use money extending Lansburys contract and bringing in another defensive centre midfielder. Who is not injury jinxed and let Vaughen be the cover. And play Cohen lb.

I don't agree Lansbury is a better player than Zaha, but he has a greater short term worth to Forest in that he is firmly established as the heartbeat of the team. Agree with all the characteristics mentioned, but I would go with Reidy as the footballing brain of the team.

It's like comparing maple syrup and bacon. They are very different joys. Together though they would taste fantastic. We love Henri of course but it's daft to say he is better than Zaha. Both have great potential and, if we get the chance (which I don't think we will) we should add both to the team pancake.

{Ed034's Note - my belly just grumbled

SP wants width, we saw that on Saturday. How many times did we ping balls the full width of the pitch to wingers hugging the line? Check the list of players you name: Reid, Lans, Lars, Pato, Britt etc. and add Osborn, Cohen, Vaughan, et al. All prefer to play through the middle and an injury to Antonio or Burke could severely disrupt team shape. I don't personally feel we need Zaha as such but if SP wants to play the way we did on Saturday then he needs more quick, skilful options out wide.

It amazes me how fans suddenly think a player would be no good to us when it looks like he is going somewhere else.

Also how can you compare Lansbury with Zaha?

Two completely different players

Makes no sense

If I was the forest boss then I'd be encouraging Pato to do extra work on his speed. Weights and drills. He has the skills to become a genuine winger.

If we can get Zaha then great. If not then it is the job of the coaches to bring these players on.

ISn't McLaughlin meant to be a winger?l

I have a good friend who is a Palace fan and he said Zaha is a talent but is very lazy and if the game gets physical he goes missing. I think Pato has what Zaha doesn't a strong heart a will, just needs to be brought down to earth and SP is the person to do that. I hope we can bring out his true potential before someone else decides he has value.

There is a reason why Zaha has played twice for england and Henri hasn't just saying

Why would Zaha drop down to the championship? He'll go to a club like CP or similar.

Have no problem with zaha just can't see where he would fot what's the point getting Antonio and Burke in if they are just to warm the bench we also have pato and Reid who can play out wide, also what's the point in splashing 5 mil if we bring zaha in to play upfront?
