vellios was a Greek signing. Forest have still not paid his transfer fee to marinakis as the understanding was EM would pay it once at forest. There is now conflict between the two and it is a factor holding up the takeover. One or about two or three snagging points. Could be an issue here but I think an agreement will be reached.

If I'm honest this sounds like a load of rubbish. wouldn't we own the money to vellios's former club rather than the Greek himself? if the Greek hasn't paid and forest haven't paid how do we own EM any money? lol. sort of contradicts what your saying to be honest.

No. we bought VELLIOS from a Greek club that is not olympiakois. Marinakis employed the director of football Pedro pereira and was going to pay for VELLIOS transfer fee. That fell through because he failed fit and proper as we know. Now it still hasn't been paid at all and marinakis is wanting his money back as he has paid for a player that has no affiliation with him. Fawaz selling him to another club would possibly pay the fee, he ain't going to put another penny in himself. Or moores comes in during transfer window and pays it. But the Greek does what his money hence why there are rumours saying VELLIOS is heading back to Greece with olympakois where EM is. This is not linked to the VELLIOS to olympaikos transfer rumours. That's just a bit of lazy journalism I think. The Greek just wants the money. Between 800k and 1.1 million. Just one of many issues behind the scenes that have held the takeover/investment up this long.

Third party ownership of footballers no longer allowed.

You've just said the Greek was going to pay the transfer fee but couldn't because of the failure of the fit and proper persons test so if what your saying is true then we don't owe the Greek anything as he never paid for him! we owe the club he came from.

Yes but it was marinakis dealing and he needs money to pay to the club he came from.

He will be contracted to forest not the Greek so it's us who owe the club money. if no money has changed hands for vellios we only owe his previous club and not the Greek.

Yes we owe the club money - but the transfer was sanctioned by EM so he owes the money. Either way they haven't paid it yet and forest owe yet more money to either EM vellios old club or both. Another cock up.

So now you're saying the club he came from gave us the player without even getting any money. for six months. come on.

As our most reliable striker Vellios is not being selected it seems to me that part of the deal to sign him will have included a what if the Greek deal does not go through clause given the size of the fee? Forest must have made a down payment for the deal to get clearance so there will be some haggling over a final settlement payment which is why he is not playing. Forest will not recoup the reported fee if they try and sell him? Vellios will probably want to stay in England given he has had a reasonable goal return and the potential for better wages. Sounds like someone is trying to trade 2 camels for a rather expensive donkey this nativity?
