According to the official site, Antonio was sold for an 'undisclosed fee.' I'm not entirely certain why that phrase is used so often but I've always assumed that it means that one set of fans would be up in arms if they knew how much/little money has actually changed hands. Hmm.

Lol.you don't give up do ya? he wanted a move and he was granted it. stop being mardy about it.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 23:41:01
7million according to sky and the we wanted the money upfront.how can we be angry about making that much profit on a player?fans moan saying we give our players away and never make any money on them.
Our fans minds change more than the weather

I guess, reading between the lines, that the cash will go straight into Abdoun and Majewskis pockets!

4.) 02 Sep 2015 06:17:24
The term undisclosed fee is because some clubs choose not to disclose the amount of available funds as not to pay overinflated prices for example man city are filth rich so selling teams sell for a higher price knowing that there is ample money in the pot pretty simple really and nothing what so ever to do with upsetting fans.

5.) 02 Sep 2015 10:01:34
What does it matter?
Fawaz was happy with the price under the circumstances so us knowing and moaning changes nothing.

A month back we thought he was going for 5 mill.

Sad news today about the passing of former Forest manager Dave Mackay. We needn't trouble ourselves too much about his other achievements as a local football manager (!) but he was unquestionably among the greatest players of his generation and an overall top man who I was lucky enough to know personally when I worked in his local a few years back (big mates with my late dad too).

RIP, big man.

So. SP goes. hard to complain about that - I doubt even his most enthusiastic supporters would have taken him on as coach if they'd known things would be the way they are at this stage of the season (and if they would, you have to wonder why). And then, DF comes in. There are reasons why a manager like Freedman would appear on the club's radar around this time and they will include a) immediate availability (though I suspect this isn't an appointment negotiated entirely in the time since Saturday's result), and b) the ability to point to previous successes in dodging relegation. It looks to me like he's done an okay job in his previous managerial roles and, while I'm not jumping for joy (or anything close), we now probably have a better chance of changing our fortunes than we would if the change hadn't been made. In a way, I'm pleased SP has gone for his own sake as I wouldn't want him to suffer the ignominy of getting us canned back to League One. Whether DF can avoid a similar fate remains to be seen but make no mistake about it: this is a salvage operation now and it's hard to imagine how the new boss could possibly make things any worse, right? Right?

1.) Who did he dodge relegation with?he put a team there but don't get them out of it.

Just spotted yesterday's poll (Should early round cup matches be used to experiment with youngsters in the team? Yes - 19% No - 81%) and was reminded of the wholesale changes (basically resting first choice players) we made to face an under-powered Tottenham side in the League Cup. I think it's true to say that the result in that game marked the beginning of the downward trend in our fortunes this season (we were unbeaten at that point in late September and have only won two games since). Coincidence? Is it possible that you can tick players off by denying them a rare opportunity to face a top-flight club when their tails are up? Is it wise to set yourself up to lose the winning habit? I know there's much more to the story of our season than that but I do wonder.

1.) What makes it stranger is that in the previous rounds against so called loweropposition we fielded nearly full strength teams!

2.) If you do well in training that week your in!! Do we actually have a first team??

3.) Number 9 I totally agree with your last 2 comments. I know he didn't want any key players getting injured in the spurs game but I honestly think at that time we could have gone and had a go at them. Never a dull moment as a forest fan!

Oh - and that £17M? He personally blew every single penny of it, and plenty more besides that the club still carries the can for.

Two things.

1. FAH has been in charge for almost five years and is clearly therefore fully responsible for failing to establish a sustainable business.

2. I'd rather the club have to rebuild from next to nothing now than see this jackass run us any further into the ground.

Friedel? Keep in mind it's very rare for a goalkeeper to achieve much in the game after hanging up their boots, the problem being that they're not really proper footballers in the first place.

If GB and JL are appointed to the first team on a permanent basis, they will inevitably end up sacked and in all likelihood leave the club. In view of their contribution elsewhere this would be very bad news.

@1978: Forest have a financial debt to FAH which he can make repayments on as he sees fit.

You don't have to delve too deeply between the lines to understand what's happened here: BA has been the subject of transfer bids which have been used as a lever to increase his salary and also his job security over the next five years. You can also bet your life that his new contract will include a valuation which triggers his release, which basically hands the reins over to BA's agent.
