Souce- fawaz twotter account

1.) 18 Oct 2013
On tv as well

2.) 18 Oct 2013
Co firmed on official forest website great news stability at last #COYR

3.) 18 Oct 2013
Get in best signing so far

4.) 18 Oct 2013
Great news for the super reds. All we need now is to get Wez from down the road and the chap from Dundee and we will be well our way. Great news!!!!

{Ed034's Note - why do we need wes??

5.) 18 Oct 2013
Fawaz and Billy what a great team. Only one way for the mighty reds.

6.) 18 Oct 2013
Great news, yet another move forward for the club.
Best of luck against Bournemouth.

7.) 18 Oct 2013
I wonder if he was approached for Sunderland job?

8.) 18 Oct 2013
Great news. Shows commitment to the club by BD and by Fawaz.

PS Ed is it me or have some rumours disappeared mysteriously?

Dazza

{Ed034's Note - had a couple of rumours that either got proved wrong or the op admitted to being a turnip, so I deleted them

9.) 18 Oct 2013
Agree ed, we do not need him. why won't people let this go

10.) 18 Oct 2013
Ed I would have wes Morgan in defence than Collins or Harding

{Ed034's Note - you'd have wes instead of Harding?? Harding plays left back and is certainly better than wes at left back.
My point is my pairing, even with wes, would be Wilson and Hobbs. Can't imagine wes coming to play as back up and I can't see either of these two being happy playing second fiddle either, so meaning one would be unhappy. Why risk rocking the boat???

11.) 18 Oct 2013
Reading the comments is it just me that finds this odd? he's not completed the first year of his contract and they extend it in October? strange. Its not like he's achieved anything yet is it? Surely a decision should of been made at the end of the season, see where we are then go one way or the other.

I will be staggered if BD is in charge of Forest in 2017, contracts to Fawaz are like yesterdays newspapers, if he feels we have failed then make no mistake Davies will be toast. If BD is here in 2017 then he's doing a very good job and I will applaud that. I await the slaughter but lengthy contracts for football managers very rarely have happy endings. i'm in no way having a go at the club, BD or Fawaz, I just find the timing odd.

{Ed034's Note - hahahaha he's building a very good squad, had moved us forward and on to a side people fear and fawaz wants to reward him. It'll give billy a lift, his coaching team a lift and the players a lift. Surely this is good news.

12.) 18 Oct 2013
Achieved nothing yet. ? Took us twice from relegation, twice to playoffs and missed last year's by a point if I'm not mistaken. Has built a formidable squad that have lost one game this year in league, brought a unity and a togetherness to the squad and club. Ray Charles could see the man has achieved a huge amount. New contract richly deserved and credit our owner for having the sense to reward that. What a signal of intent all round I say. Go on the reds.
Ro red.

13.) 18 Oct 2013
The only real difference it'll make is to BD's severance package if Fawaz wants to get rid.

Yes, it's a show of support and gives a positive message at the club but most contracts mean very little nowadays, especially at the clubs with money.

Still, nice to see all is rosy for now at the City Ground. COYR.

{Ed034's Note - short term it'll give not only billy and the players stability, but also his team if coaches.

14.) 18 Oct 2013
I agree Ed, it is good to reward success, but at the moment we haven't succeeded. At the end of the day this is a business.

I like what's going on at the club right now, but come May it might be a totally different story?

It is one thing rewarding your successful manager, but it is something different trying to get rid of an unsuccessful manager with a long contract.

I'm not saying it is wrong to give Billy an extension to his contract but I would have taken stock at the end of the season then made an informed decision.

Didn't Newcastle recently reward Alan Pardew with an 8 year contract after an average season.

Anyway that's me thinking with my business head on and not my "I love Forest head" on!

{Ed034's Note - won't cost you or I a penny, so only head to think with is your football head and this could really give the whole place that extra boost.

15.) 19 Oct 2013
Billy is top drawer. Simple.

Ridiculous to say he 'hasn't achieved' given that he came in at the back end of the last season and turned an underperforming squad into play off contenders and is sat 4th in the league now having lost only 1 game!

People forget he saved us from relegation and the following 2 seasons got us to 2 consecutive play offs. His reward? The sack!

Previous reign was thwarted by ND's regime (pleat Marthur etc) as was Harty and even McLaren who was peddled lies.

BD deserves full backing as I suspect it will be the 1st time in his career. If he gets board and fans support we will go up.

16.) 19 Oct 2013
This contract extension doesn't suprise me at all. I think I can recall Fawaz saying on EMT that Billy and I quote: "will be the Alex Fergerson of Nottingham Forest". So sit tight folks, we've got King Billy for many years to come. COYR

17.) 19 Oct 2013
Ed, Leeds fans thought that when Ridsdale was splashing the cash and trying to give their club a boost and a feel good factor, but look where their at now.

I'm not a glass half empty person, far from it, but like I said this is a business.

Giving Billy an extension to his contract at this stage of his new reign is a little bit premature as was giving Blackstock a new 4 year contract without a manager in situ.

{Ed034's Note - the only thing it means is fawaz would have to give billy a larger pay off. It is nothing like either the Leeds scenario or is totally different to blackstock.
Billy is building, has done a great job and fawaz has given him an extended contract. If a club in the prem they want to give billy a chance (let's face it there are going to be a few sacking over the next few months), now they will have to pay decent compensation.
With the job he's done building a good squad, getting us top six, playing good football, having every manager we play say we will be up there, his previous record with us and the way he has got the fans thinking and city ground buzzing, how is giving him an extension a bad thing?? If fawaz sacked him áfter today's game, he pay off will not affect the club or you or me, so what is negative about this???

18.) 19 Oct 2013
Yes, the timing is a bit unusual but overall this has to be positive in terms of stability - let's hope Fawaz is a patient man. Why do some keep going on about Wes and a couple of other ex players? Wes was (and still is) a great defender and player for Forest but with Hobbs, Wilson, Cohen & Lichaj at the back with depth to cover, the back 4 is sorted in my view and people need to move on - the front 3rd is where the concentration needs to be as we move on towards the next transfer window.

19.) 19 Oct 2013
Great news. Congrats billy. Good for the club and good for the fans. Some exciting times a head. Stability for any club is always good and shows the owners are happy with the way the club and team heading.

20.) 19 Oct 2013
A signing bringing long term stability for the manager is a great thing after the amount of managers we've had the past few years. BD, even though not a local, is Forest through and through. He's still young comparatively for a manager, and I think up or down, he'd be as passionate for success than the first day in the job and unlike others who simply had no chemistry with the club, fans, and Fawaz himself deserved to be in the firing line. I think Fawaz recognizes that the combination we have now in himself, Billy, the staff, the players and the fans, are all pulling in the same direction which is a first for a while. This is a clinical business decision on Fawaz's part, I'd be sure of it. Wouldn't it be great to have a manager in be job as long as Coughie was? I dream of those days past and yet to come!

21.) 19 Oct 2013
The owners had a lot of stick in their first season with folk saying they don't know what there doing ect. Fawaz has held his hands up and rectified his minor mistakes. Takes a lot of a man to do that. Billy knows the club inside out and has always had a vision on where he want to take forest. At this moment in time, I can't think of anyone who can make the step up and get us promoted. We have a very strong line up and I think every team in the championship is wary of playing us, home or away. The strength in depth isn't world class but decent cover nontheless. Billy has made trentside his fort and fawaz knows that a new contract is best for everybody all round. Well done billy and fawaz, COYR

22.) 19 Oct 2013
Good show of intent to the media and the competition when you see all the nonsense going on at other clubs.

Championship clubs are desperate this year to get out the division and the silly season has already started at Derby. It will be a rollercoaster so at least when our form dips the media and our fickler fans have their answer. KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON. Kuwait!

23.) 19 Oct 2013
Lets just say we got promoted to the prem and after 23 games we were bottom do u think davies would be manager don't think so forest fans would be shouting 4 his head contracts mean nothing. for players or managers

{Ed034's Note - it would mean billy would get the pay off he would deserve, for getting us to the premier league.
This would be now different to any other manager though, so I'm not sure what your point is

24.) 19 Oct 2013
Yes, he would get the payoff he deserves, but let's not forget, we are not in the EPL with 23 games gone and bottom of the league, and if we were we'd have a hug payment for that year in the epl and parachute payments that I'm sure would more than cover it. You do realize, as soon as Forest are in the EPL, we are a profitable club bar the no doubt added costs for better players.
