Sad day . he is a real talent , and will not be out of place in the premier league.

we will not be able to replace him for sure . hard times ahead.

Sad indeed, but we all have to be realistic about where we are. Getting to next summer without the transfer ban must be the priority, as DF says in the NEP interview. I can't see that MA loss is a total disaster t, and we'll still survive. It's living beyond our means that has got us in this mess in the first place. 5.5m profit in 14 months can't be bad. Saying he won't go for less than 8mill was always an obvious bargaining position.

Sad to see him go but assume we have a plan B. Interested to see who will come in to replace.

It's like you don't remember the last 3 times we have "accepted deals" for Lansbury.

MA was missing for all the first half and first bit of the second on Saturday. He skulked about not tracking back and staying on the ground when he got touched. No desire to help the team. Fair enough something happened in the second half ie. Osborn came on and MA started to try and had some fire. Maybe thought his signing on bonus was dropping. You can't force a player to stay if they want to go. Get what you c for them and see from there, just better sell to Prem and not a rival. Problem is the squad is very thin and needs a half decent replacement. Stop blaming fawaz the players are people with opinions and desires.

This is clearly not in the interests of the team: selling our best player is the result of financial cluelessness leading to waste on a colossal scale and the proceeds will go towards paying debt recklessly incurred by (and probably owed to) FAH. This nice man/passionate supporter/successful businessman is lowering the quality of your Saturday afternoon to pay for his own catalogue of mistakes.

😂😂😂 some of the reaction son here are comical!fawaz grabbing the money, yea because he needs it doenst he?what he is doing is letting a player move on in his career and also giving the club a massive profit from this which helps towards ffp.
Should we of kept him with his head being up in the clouds thinking of player prem football but in stead is player under a poor manager that hasn't got a clue!

Antonio has to go- he was dead space for most of the game Saturday and clear he wanted off! It will only get worse if he stays- get someone in who wants to play!
Pato- never really matured after West Ham hat trick and never fulfilled his potential-
You can't blame the players who who are picked - they are doing what they are paid for! It's not their fault they are not good enough so you may as well suck it up!
DF has his hands tied by FFP so a no win situation - the damage was done by a badly run club and we must have known we would get hit by FFP! We took a gamble on getting promotion- it back fired- it's simple!
Fawas backed the manager- but was badly advised! Again a no win- back the manager with signings and getting slated- don't sign anyone- get slated for not backing the manager!
We are where we are - in FFP from out own making - so cannot buy and DF is doing an impossible job and you should all be sympathising with him and backing what we can do- and that's not much!

@ uptheforest: I'm not suggesting that FAH personally needs the money but I am suggesting that he's in no small way responsible for a situation in which we have to cash in on a prized asset. If MA goes for the suggested £7M, that will represent a huge mark-up on the £1.5M we paid for him but it will all be chalked off against debt, much of which is allegedly carried in director's loans. What that would mean is that the club has to pay money back to the owner in order to get itself back into a financially sustainable position. To be fair, £7M for the player isn't a bad deal - or rather it wouldn't be if it weren't all disappearing into a black hole in the accounts. I also understand that the club has to bring money in to reduce its losses but that doesn't exonerate those responsible for the expensive mistakes that led to those losses in the first place.
