Er so we aren't investing the money from Burke! Hah what a surprise!

Didn't Fawaz say though that they are after 3-4 players so the other (s) may be 'blow ya socks off' signings?

Yes living in hope LOL.

But if the marquee signing is being left until deadline day, we know how our deadline day luck is.

I wonder how many people now realise how the club is being shafted, as the owner at Newcastle has done, and several others too to their clubs? Are any pennies dropping yet?

How many more times are we going to have to flog our best players to satisfy FFP? We did it with Darlow/ Lascelles and with Antonio and now with Burke! And we don't get top dollar either! Each time our chances of promotion recede well after season tickets have been sold! A definite pattern.

Twf- you could also say when are fans going to realise that we can't afford not to sell some players? We either sell players, pay double for our tickets and merchandise, all of a sudden increase our revenue by a ridiculous amount or rely on owners such as fawaz to prop us up? Fawaz doesn't appear to be learning from some of his mistakes and I certainly don't think he is doing a great job but he isn't the only one to blame.
How many fans would be happy to live 100% within our means (ie. Don't rely on any external investment or owner loans etc. ) and possibly be a well run mid championship or league 1 team? Or how many would be prepared to increase their investment ie. pay more money for tickets, merchandise etc.?
I don't agree with a lot of fawaz's decisions but I still have a certain amount of respect for him and until we can get a more rounded owner I think he deserves a certain amount of support and respect. I think fans need to be careful how they treat him as he could quite easily throw the towel in and we could be stripped to the bare bones and run on a shoe string. what happens if he doesn't keep covering the losses?

I genuinely am unsure about how the FFP works but how come we got punished so bad buying Assombalonga but teams like Derby don't get punished when they've just spent £8m on Vydra?

I'm sure Derbys books are going to make interesting reading over the last 12 months!

Derby is ran as a business on and off the field, the ipro stadium is a venue for almost anything most days of the week, it generates a huge income. The city ground? Generates hardly anything, the club needs to generate money off the pitch and not just on match day.

as it has been said before, all clubs wheel and deal. You sell, raise funds and buy. If they do well you sell and use the money to buy again. that's life for 98 % of clubs. Its not a matter of ambition its life. Players want to move to improve themselves and increase their earnings so making their life secure financially.
The club owners are having to juggle finances constantly.
Yes its sad when a good player leaves but as a supporter of many years have seen this time and time again and look forward to the next star. Bonus being if the youth set up produces a star.

Hate to say it but Derby create revenue from both ticket sales and stadium hire. They are not threatened by FFP because they don't breach it.

Perhaps the best signing we could make is someone to run the club properly! Still no CEO!
