The sun are saying that Middlesbrough have landed assombalonga for 14 mill with 60 grand a week wages hope it's not true.

With it quoting how much he's been sold for and how much a week he's going to be on, it will probably be true. Shame because there's a good vibe about the club at the moment.

that's the Irish sun
not sure about this. but 14mill u can understand if he went
forest can not offer that sort of wages
Brereton could be the one this year give him a run of games.

Why would he have been shown training with the team just yesterday if he was leaving?

Its on the bbc site too. I know its just the gossip bit but states the deal is done.

It's on the BBC website but it's by the sun again.
We'll see.

Pure speculation to me. Have read the story on the papers website and it state's "The plan is to ink the deal when he get's back from Forests Florida trip". If it was an absolute done deal they'd send him home to finalise in my opinion.

Nothing on sky sports about it either.
All made up, and guess work.

I pray it's all made up but if it ain't then let's pray brereton can step up or even cummings and vellios they are all good strikers.

14 mil is a joke and joining another Champ team makes no sense, I could understand if it was to the Prem, this is of course if it is true:)

Please don't try and replace with some second rate over the hill striker.

warburton and mcparland signed both andre gray and scott hogan from lower divisions for little money and both of them scored lots in the championship and were sold on for lots more, so i wouldn't be suprised or worried to see us spend a small amount on a striker to replace britt should he go. hopefully he stays though!

Face it, he's going.

I'd imagine a deal has been agreed in principle and the only thing holding up its completion is Assombalonga's party waiting for a Premier League side to come in and gazump Middlesbrough.

Although, I don't expect any of you ardent fans to believe that. It sounds too much like common sense for a football fan.

I think i maybe the only one not worried if Britt does go. I think people will be surprised by Brereton and Cummings this season. I also think if Vellios gets game time he could be dangerous combined with McKay and Clough on the wings, a bright future with or without Britt.

I agree we have alternatives but Brereton and Cummings are relative unknowns whereas you know Britt is going to score goals, and lots of them. That said, I am optimistic that goals are going to come from a number of players next season including clough, McKay, Brereton, Osbourne and Cummings. And the forgotten man Carayol.

Now reported that Burnley are going to come back in with an improved offer. Let's ride this out and see how much we can get for him. I did read that the Boro offer is upto 14 mil if they get promoted after an initial fee.

But he has also been injury prone, and how do you know he'll score lots? It all depends on MW style of play for the season, remember the end of the season was a smash and grab he has now had nearly a full pre-season.

I think he will be gone, disappointed but i have two hopes that would turn that feeling around- firstly, that we manage to eek out a few million more to say 17m, secondly that we release the purse strings a litle to buy a quality replacement and a quality athletic central mid player. If this happens it might turn out to be a decent move.

17.) 13 Jul 2017
13 Jul 2017 14:55:04
I still think if Burnley and Watford are in for him we could reach 20mill. I worry about who is going to get the goals when he is gone. Ben is good but not ready for a whole season up front.

13 Jul 2017 15:28:22
Don't forget the slice we will owe the Posh as well? Rumours abound a big sell on clause 30%-40% if you wish to believe those figures?

19.) 13 Jul 2017
13 Jul 2017 19:55:34
Assambolonga is leaving, defo, 100%. Nffc are currently in contact with Britt, his agent and Middlesborough to get the best deal. We can't compete with £60,000 a week wages, £15 million is a fair price, but goal scorers are priceless, who will replace him?

20.) 14 Jul 2017
14 Jul 2017 08:49:23
If we get 15m for Britt any striker we go in for will be overpriced by the selling club. Was good business to get Cummings in early before britt left.
