Dawson to be announced in the next 24 hours, Dean Marney to be announced shortly after, more in the pipeline, including Tomlin, Pantillimon and Colback if he can be persuaded to drop his wages for regular first team football. AK must be confident through discussions with the players and owners that many will be leaving this summer. My suspicion would be that we will have to pay off many of the deadwood as let's be honest, it's only lower Championship or league one teams that will want them and they won't be able to offer no where near the wages they're on at Forest. That money has to come from somewhere though so will eat in to the transfer budget. Don't expect no extravagant signings this summer fellow reds, loans and freebies will be the theme in the most part I believe.

Dean Marney, really, i know it's good to have experience and we'll have that in Dawson but i hope we don't just become a cash pot for journeymen has beens.

GazzaRed I'm in agreement with most of what you say. But I don't think Colback will drop in wage. I really have grave reservations regarding Marney! I also think Karnka may have a couple of surprise signings up his sleeve.

I'm happy with the Dawson deal as I think he brings experience,leadership qualities and an Ariel presence. Not sure about Marney and for me Colback offered nothing that Bridcutt couldn't do for a fraction of the cost. Think the money could be better spent elsewhere.
