Huddesfield are set to sign naki Wells from Bradford think maybe forest should have gone in for him, I know it's still early days in the transfer window but hope it doesn't follow previous ones witch show plenty of promise but delivers nothing REDMAN

1.) 10 Jan 2014
With qpr, Wigan, burnley and Aston villa sniffing round him why would he go there? Defiantly worth a punt. Would understand if we went in and another big team got him but to let huddlesfield get him is a waste. He could be the next big thing given the chance. A £3 mil go on him would be more exciting then a £3 mil on long. Not saying long wouldn't be good for us but wells could be better and worth a lot more.

{Ed034's Note - fee agreed with huddersfield

2.) 10 Jan 2014
I'm hoping that this transfer window will not be a carbon copy of so many in the past. Still a while to go yet!

3.) 10 Jan 2014
Look, if he goes to Huddersfield, why do we not take a punt on James Vaughen? Although if Huddersfield are apparently asking £3m for Norwood you kind of wonder what ridiculous fee they would ask for him! COYR

4.) 10 Jan 2014
Billy is always very reluctant to buy young emerging talent. He always want's established players. That can go into a team and make a difference straight away. we had a chance with Vardy from Fleetwood and Billy would not take him.
Pearson took him and he has proved a reasonable buy.

{Ed034's Note - I have spoken to various Leicester fans who all say vardy is average.

5.) 10 Jan 2014
Forest are not in for Nakhi Wells and never have been.

We need a striker that can score right here right now. Nakhi Wells is not proven at this level and is therefore a risk.

A great prospect for the future agreed but not one to hit the ground running which is what we need.

This may trigger James Vaughan to us?

6.) 10 Jan 2014
BIG question to be asked of Billy Davies!

{Ed034's Note - why?? just because you think he's a good player, does not mean he is. what a silly statement to make

7.) 10 Jan 2014
Well I for one have not been disappointed with recent transfer activity.

8.) 10 Jan 2014
One can only assume that Billy and Fawaz are close to a deal re a more experienced striker as Wells would have been a good fit for us regarding future and realistic fee and wages. Personally I think it is not as urgent as we think. I feel it would have been sorted by now as it has been on their agenda for quite a few months now. I still think that with the revitalised style of football we are playing now with Abdoun and Patto stepping up we can get Cox and Henderson scoring. Keep derbyshire and Tudguay and we may just be sorted. Forever hopeful though!

{Ed034's Note - I would presume billy does not think he is capable of going where we want to go

9.) 10 Jan 2014
Oh I forgot to mention the sterling job that Greg halford is doing. Powerful in the air and is leading the line superbly. He may lack a bit on the deck but he does remind me a bit of Lee Chapman!

10.) 10 Jan 2014
Football is a very competitive world controlled too much by agents. To say that he last transfer window was "dissapointing" is a but harsh - whilst we need to keep strengtening we also cannot be taken as mugs with money, plus players really need to fit. Trust Billy and Fawaz and see what happens longer term.

11.) 10 Jan 2014
Billy has known for months that a goal scorer is needed and Fawaz will fund it. He obviously doesn't think that NW fits in his Forest team and we have to trust his judgement. It will be disappointing if we don't get someone in, but Jan is traditionally a tough month to get players in.

12.) 10 Jan 2014
If we are looking at players from the lower leagues which I have no problem with. I would look at young Scott Hogan, he as scored some cracking goals so probably worth a chance.

13.) 10 Jan 2014
At the end of the day I would be happy if we signed Hobbs and Vaughan on a permanent deal. We are scoring goals at the moment with Halford and the midfield players chipping in and if we can secure Hobbs and Vaughan we will continue to create chances for the midfield and the forwards and will continue to keep clean sheets or let very few goals in and continue to have probably the best defence in the Championship.

14.) 10 Jan 2014
I think the fact we showed no interest in wells shows we're not looking at lower league

{Ed034's Note - I think that is a wrong presumption. is it hard for fans to consider that just maybe, billy did not rate him or that he doesn't think he would be good enough for what we want to achieve???

15.) 10 Jan 2014
Wells having medical at huddesfield on ssn

16.) 10 Jan 2014
Hobbs, Vaughan, Abdoun, Lichaj, Mackie, Paterson.
Not doing too bad is he?. In Billy we trust. ;)

17.) 10 Jan 2014
In my opinion he would have been a good signing but i'd assume he would have been 4 or 5th choice for billy - he will be fully aware of what NW could have offered us but he obviously thinks he will get one of his other preferred options. strange move for the lad if it all goes through though? bit of a sideways step for a player who has certainly been well watched by lots of clubs for quite a long period.

18.) 10 Jan 2014
I wouldn't say a 'sideways step' rather more of a progression for the lad. Ply his trade in the Championship, not too far from where he lives assuming in lives in the Bradford area and if he does well then who knows where his future lies. Actually nice to see this to be honest rather than a big money move to a EPL club then being loaned out, reserves and not making the bench week in week out.

19.) 10 Jan 2014
Surprised Queens Park Forest Rangers or Wigan didn't go for him.

20.) 10 Jan 2014
I'd imagine with a price of £3m (ish) most of the bigger championship sides didn't see much value in the deal, or at least maybe too much risk if he doesn't make the step up.

if you spend £3m as a championship club you would expect a good return and i don't think wells can guarantee that. maybe a club like huddersfield are prepared to take that risk. he might be a very good buy at that price, then again he might just end up an average championship forward and for £3m (ish) you'd want better than that.

21.) 10 Jan 2014
I guess it all depends on what the guy wants and how we interpret it? i'd have thought progression would be a move to a top championship club or lower prem not a mid table close to home club - especially when you look at some of the clubs who have apparently shown interest? it obviously is a step up in terms of leagues but to me it doesn't show much in terms of ambition or confidence that he can make an impact in a top championship side, but good luck to him wherever he goes.

22.) 10 Jan 2014
I would rather us take a punt on a young striker scoring goals in league one, than a PL striker who has been sitting on the bench all season as there isn't enough time left in the season for them to get match fit, by the time they are match fit, it could possibly be too late

23.) 10 Jan 2014
I would say our transfer activity depends on off loading some dead wood our squad is massive so is our wage bill millers back Tudguy, Mousi, Greening, Derbyshire, Collins, Harding, I would be happy to get rid of them and sign Hobbs & Vaughn who reminds me of Ian Bowyer & a striker although with our style of play lately the whole team might score.

24.) 10 Jan 2014
Wrong presumption? How many forest players in the team has billy signed from a lower league team

{Ed034's Note - it was stated that because we have not showed any interest in wells, this is basically proof we are not looking at the lower leagues. That statement is ridiculous. Do you really think we do not look at lower leagues?? We are a professional football club and billy is a professional football manager. Just think about that for a second...now think do you really think if billy would narrow his search for players to only the league he's in or above?? It's a crazy statement to make

25.) 10 Jan 2014
Transfer fee is 1.2million

26.) 10 Jan 2014
£1.2m! Didn't they reject a bid of nearly £3m from QPR in the Summer? Must be some add-ons in that deal!

Also regarding lower-league signings, I think Jamie Paterson proves Billy will dip into League One if he thinks they're the right player. Clucas and Darikwa being watched too, so we do pay attention to the lower-leagues.

27.) 11 Jan 2014
In fairness Wells has now signed for Huddersfield.
