In the unlikely event that both Pato and Abdoun get injured, Andy Reid is not a bad left wing. Failing that, I expect Halford could fill in. I wonder how Pato would get on as striker - his ball control and eye for the goal are a lot better than Cox.
{Ed034's Note - one thing cox has got is fantastic ball control. pato is good at twisting, turning and running at defenders. the formation we play does not suite pato as a striker. the only way he could, would be as part of a front two

I doubt we will sign any quality players until 31st January as they will all be waiting to see if a Prem. club comes in for them

Ed, I think Harding did the best he could whenever he played - if that wasn't good enough for you don't you think your criticism should be aimed at the manager, not the player?

If you're suggesting that Henderson and Lars are a similar standard then I would be very disappointed in the new signing! Henderson has never been good enough for us, Halford was a better striker.
Maybe Brazil wasn't up to the job I bet SP could get them playing - he won't stand for any nonsense

Ed, I think perhaps your reply above says more about the Coach/Manager than the two Algerian players. They are good footballers and we saw what Abdoun could do even if Djebbour didn't get a chance. If the coach could get them playing at their best ( his job? ) then I would love to see them in the team.
{Ed034's Note - they were given a chance and neither of them have taken it. Brazil had nothing to lose by playing them and didn't. How is this so difficult to believe??
3-1 sounds good to me also. Buck the trend, start with our best players and sub them if they can't last 90 minutes. I'd rather take them off 2-0 up than bring them on 2-0 down.
