Psycho to be announced today as new manager. Will bring ex Forest players as backroom staff. My heart says yes but just hope things don't go pear shaped down the line. Football fans have no patience and no regard for failure no matter what the history is. I'm sure he is a better coach now through experience and for sure that clenched fist will get the City Ground rocking. Here's to the future.

{Ed034's Note - you can't help but feel excited about it, can you.

1.) 27 Mar 2014
I think that Pearce is my favourite over Zola. My head says his reputation is at risk and his lack of experience and success worries me.

Malky mackay I think may be the 'sensible' choice of possible.

Anyway COYR

Time to get behind the team again :)

2.) 27 Mar 2014
The vision. pearce will come in clenched fist. that lions roar to the fans. Excitment. reallity. will sit calm. keep cool. but I think we'll still get the excitement. would lift the supporters who would then lift the players. heres hoping!

3.) 27 Mar 2014
I love psycho but I don't rate him as a manager. I hope this isn't true.

4.) 27 Mar 2014
Not my first choice but agree that you can't help but be excited by it- will surely put a few thousand on next home game

5.) 27 Mar 2014
He is the man 2 put passion and pride in2 our players, will give our defence a good kick up the arse also.

6.) 27 Mar 2014
Delighted with this. Was my hero growing up. Will have complete desire to succeed and will instill belief and confidence amongst the players will also nurture the youngsters. Really excited about this!

7.) 27 Mar 2014
Is this on good authority ed. Wud luv pearce as he has grown so much over the last 5 yrs. Talk about fawaz thinking of the fans as well as the business end of running a club

{Ed034's Note - press seem to think so

8.) 27 Mar 2014
If things went a bit wrong surely we could have some patience for this guy couldn't we

9.) 27 Mar 2014
If he gets the right assistant/coach alongside him he could be brilliant

10.) 27 Mar 2014
I hope it is true, someone with passion and knows what is expected when wearing the Garibaldi Red Shirt! Red Ian

11.) 27 Mar 2014
Last time he was thrown in at the deep end. he has now had more experience and has done every coaching course out there. he know a lot about football and talks well. it will go pear shaped but after how long?that's just football. he will always be a legend no matter how things pan out because he won't put this club down. he will come in and put the club 1st. am I the only one who's hairs stand up on the back of my neck whe I read he's coming back?

12.) 27 Mar 2014
Cannot wait. The danger of him coming in so late in the season when we are playing so poor is that the fickle amongst us will expect instant results and I can't see that happening. If Pearce is the man coming in we all need to get behind him until the end of the season regardless of results!

13.) 27 Mar 2014
Blimey Ed, you're posting early! Do you know something we don't?

{Ed034's Note - I have a three year old who had two jabs yesterday, so been up most of the night lol

14.) 27 Mar 2014
Just a real sense of foreboding that it would all end in tears. What about the priority of a successful proven manager etc? He gave us great years and stayed long after the Keanes and N Cloughs had jumped ship, but let's leave it that way. Not the experienced manager we need.

15.) 27 Mar 2014
My favourite outfield player, a true legend! But it is a sentimental gamble. There is no evidence to suggest he is up to the job. I would much prefer Mackay. But if it is to be Pearce 100 % support. I hope he is a success

16.) 27 Mar 2014
Am I the only forest fan who thinks this is a terrible idea? Obviously I respect the man greatly but as a manager he's never really convinced. I hope i'm wrong but I just don't think he's the right man for the job. I wouldn't like to see the fans turn on him if he fails to get results because he's a big part of our heritage. Like I say though, if he is installed as manager, I hope he proves me wrong

17.) 27 Mar 2014
I'd settle for that. He may not be the best tactician but boy would he get them at it! That seems half the battle with us at the minute.

18.) 27 Mar 2014
Pearce will always be a hero. And even if he got us relegated I would still back him as I would know it wasn't for lack of effort or because of an hidden agenda

19.) 27 Mar 2014
It's the emotional choice but not the right choice
He's not brain of Britain and at the England 21s was seen as being restrictive and old fashioned in style.
He's not achieved anything material as a manager
Fawaz is playing the fan again and not taking a proper look. He loves being popular.

5th to 8th

{Ed034's Note - and you love dismissing everything at the club

20.) 27 Mar 2014
Psycho is a forest legend, who has coached and been coached at the highest level, every fan should back him for the forseeable future! ED excited is not the word! over the flipping moon! PSSSSSSSYCCCCCCCCHOOOOOOOOO!

21.) 27 Mar 2014
Stuart Pearce is a club legend and my favourite player of all time. I just worry what will happen if things go wrong and I'm not totally convinced by his management ability. Seem to remember Pearce being a another manager who struggles to get the best out of his strikers. Think a lot will hinge on who is in his backroom staff. maybe Mr collymore to return?;)

22.) 27 Mar 2014
According to the Star he's favourite, if he is then so be it. I'd be much happier if he had a Hoddle/Curbishley 'type' overseer.

23.) 27 Mar 2014
I expect if this is the case it might be that he will need prove he's worth the job in the remaining games

24.) 27 Mar 2014
Would love to see Psycho back but only as assistant manager. Ideally I would like Martin O'Neil as manager.

25.) 27 Mar 2014
I think this would be a disaster!

I love the man and watched his amazing passionate, driving, energy filled performances for the reds week after week but.

Should we really be pandering to what the fans want and what Fawaz wants?
Football should be the main priority here not Fawaz or the fans. They are important but we seem to have an owner who likes to have his say on team affairs and as a result can't see the wood for the trees.

I would be happier if a young manager with a point to prove was appointed and a good experienced chief exec came in.
We don't need to go over old ground to make people happy or fill seats? We need good football and both will come as a result.

Forget about sentimental claptrap and getting a patsy to stroke Fawaz's large ego, let's get on with playing football in the right way!

And before anyone says Peace isn't a patsy let me remind you he's about as meek as it gets in the dugout and failed miserably with the very best kids england had to offer.
They hounded him out at the end because he was total garbage and his tactics and style of football were totally atrocious.

Short memories?

26.) 27 Mar 2014
It ain't just the hairs on my neck that are starting to stand up mate lol

27.) 27 Mar 2014
Pearce is a great character and role model but unproven as a league manager which is a worry. But he will give his heart and soul to the job, hopefully another Tim Sherwood style story.

Everyone is also missing a major point that the team he is taking over is still missing most of our best players. Even Mourinho would struggle with this!

28.) 27 Mar 2014
Yes maybe not everyone's first choice but for the club long term (pending a bit of patience from us and Fawaz) this could be a fantastic move!

As already said, the sentimentality, passion and excitement just makes you smile and, like another club with a rich history, Manchester United have tended to employ a 'family' of ex players in all kinds of roles connected with the club, it certainly has given that added extra to them over the years.

For this managerial option, when we win, it'll feel better than ever before, when we lose, it'll hurt more than it would usually do but regardless of the result, we'd have staff all pushing for the benefit of the club for a change and not someone trying to prove the owner wrong, not someone looking for a long contract and pay out, not someone's ego and not someone's personal gain.

29.) 27 Mar 2014
Ed. just hearing pearce has turned us down. pity

{Ed034's Note - says time is not right

30.) 27 Mar 2014
He has as much experience as all the candidates if not more and he has vast variety to his cv. If uou want someone with success on their cv then they cannot always transport it take owen coyle for example

31.) 27 Mar 2014
Don't worry about weather he's a good manager, give him his no3 shirt back and and give him a game probably still better than what we have lol Gazza2969

32.) 27 Mar 2014
Rumour wrong! But good guess. Better luck next time. Next please.
