All the early season optimism has evaporated in the space of 7 games.
Can't come back from a one goal deficit to even salvage a point in 3 of those games.
Cannot defend a lead, two nil up at Villa and three nil up at Norwich in two of those games.
If you can't fight back in a game or hold on to a lead then your really shafted!

After a decent unbeaten run gave us some breathing space we are back to being an embarrassing shambles of a team that are all to easy to score against.
If Brentford do the usual in the week and turn us over at home then by the time we get to play the Barnsley fixture it could have massive significance and could see them overtake us in the league.

That postponement could really cost us as at the time if we'd managed to beat them we would have been as good as safe. Now they are playing better and we are getting worse.

Good post Fred but the warning signs have been there for a while now.
Not scoring is always going to end badly as it's a matter of time before we started leaking goals again.
To many loans in the side,it never works long term.
Time to drop them all and play players who are here next season.
Other than tobias I don't want to see any of the others next season.

2.) 07 Apr 2018 20:58:15
Very true. Keeping clean sheets papered over the cracks somewhat.
Apart from the QPR game where everything we hit went in, goals have been as rare as hens teeth. Once the clean sheets dried up it was always going to spell trouble.

3.) 07 Apr 2018 21:51:49
Three goals I've seen in all our home games fred and one away at hull.
Given up with away games too expensive a day to watch his tactics.
Stands there with his hands in his pockets.
Shows no passion and it shows on the pitch.

17 Mar 2018 22:59:26
Worrall and Mancienne getting injured and falling ill in the week building up to the Burton game forced Karanka's hand and may have saved our season.
Since then we've kept 4 clean sheets in the last 7 games with Figueiredo and Fox at centre half so it was a blessing in disguise.

Yes Watson and Colback have provided a more solid wall in front of the back four but would we have kept those 4 clean sheets with Mancienne and Worrall playing? I very much doubt it and remember Colback played in front of them against Fulham and Hull when we conceded 2 in both games.

1.) 17 Mar 2018 23:56:31
Got to agree Fred it shouldn't work on paper but it is.
That's football for you Fred we can all day play Eric he's far better than darikwa? Play anyone except fox as he's crapp?
But sometimes it works as they have an understanding that the so called better players don't.
Can't knock the defensive side of the team.

2.) 18 Mar 2018 05:12:13
Would AK have dropped worrall and mancienne anyway? Worrying if its just luck that forced his hand. Mancienne for me, and i said it many times is poor. I hops worrall watches and learns. He will have future with us for sure. Lkke most on here was delighted that fox has been drafted into the middle. Pants has been a revelation in goal for many reasons but his organisational qualities shine through.
To go to bramall lane, a tough rough team fighting for promotion and keep a clean sheet is commendable and to come out on top second half is evidence of ambition. Well done lads.

3.) 18 Mar 2018 10:39:59
AK knew Manc was no captain and brought in Watson to do the job, the injury was a bit of luck for him. Manc's a possible transfer in the summer, a pity because there is a good footballer in there somewhere.

4.) 18 Mar 2018 14:05:27
I have to say the last few games I watched Worrall play were painful, just mistake after mistake and treating the ball like an unexploded bomb that might explode any second. No doubt heโ€™ll come good but he had started costing us points

5.) 18 Mar 2018 20:20:31
I reckon that getting rid of the ball like an unexploded bomb thing is a hangover from Warburton's ridiculous demand that we ALWAYS played out from the back. How many goals did that gift? Remember Hobbs and Jordan v Sheff Weds? That was a turning point for me. It made two pro's look stupid and gave the opposition ANOTHER goal head-start. We don't see that rubbish any more now we have a defender who has played at the highest level in charge. Hmmm.

10 Feb 2018 21:28:37
Forest lost last 5 home matches.
Failed to score in 7 of last 8.
1 shot on target today at home!!!
Hull's first win in 10.
Hull's second away win in 33!!
We'll be ok when the new signings get match fit. It's not like they've played the game before.
We'll be ok once Karanka decides on the best players for his system.
We've got all the time in the world.

Red Fred

1.) 10 Feb 2018 22:45:14
7 points off bottom 3, with continued form like this it could be squeaky bum time again this season.

2.) 10 Feb 2018 22:46:12
All the players got paid, regardless. This is where football has gone so wrong IMO. Performance related pay and a lower basic. Too late now, player power.๐Ÿ‘Ž

Enjoyable second half after a woeful first.
Had Murphy converted one of his two great second half headed chances we would have had an unlikely point.

Ben Osborn has his critics but i thought when he came on he gave us much needed momentum and at least tries to drive the team forward. Granted he gives the ball away on occasion but always gives his all and is a far better option than Bouchalakis and Bridcutt who seem pedestrian in comparison.

Brereton is a complete waste of a shirt at the moment. Yes being played out of position but his body language is all wrong. As No 22 so rightly said there is no excuse for not putting in a shift. Move him or lose him. Darikwa is very poor defensively and it baffles me why he starts ahead of Lichaj. Cohen, Vaughan,Ward and Mancienne would i think make a massive difference to us but they are rarely fit. Mckay is our only highlight at present but more often than not finds himself against three players.

Every time the ball goes in our half i fear we will concede and that cannot be right. I don't pretend to have all the answers but something ain't right and all of you that say we are a work in progress are just deluded. A very frustrated Forest fan.

Red Fred

1.) 24 Sep 2017 06:12:20
Completely agree, we need Mancienne back in the defence, Worrall needs to be dropped for a few games.
We defo need a solid defender & a good goal keeper in Jan window.

2.) 24 Sep 2017 07:37:56
Ben Breretons body language is all wrong because he is being asked to play out of position, it all started against the friendly at Notts County, he came on second half and played through the middle, he was full of energy and scored. Next minute he was told to play right wing and he looked like a kid in a sweet shop with no money to spend. He should put in a shift but MW needs to change things instead of churning out a pretty much unchanged 11 each game. Mills is terrible, Worrall inexperienced, Darikwa and Traore go missing up the field far too much, keeper inexperienced. opposition teams do their homework before a game and they just know how to punish us.

Reading's first win in 11 matches.
Swift's first goal of the season but he somehow always manages to score against us.
How could any well run club have to make do with playing a central midfielder in defence and only having one fit striker (an old carthorse at that) for so long?

Red Fred

1.) 12 Jan 2019 17:17:34
Hi Fred, some reality needs to click in Iโ€™m afraid

Fernando?. Isn't that a song?
So I wonder who the next manager will be?
Bruce, o Neil, Keane?

2.) 29 Dec 2018 17:33:39
steve bruce never, he is related to my wife.

3.) 29 Dec 2018 17:38:00
Where is rie?
Hmmmmm hiding I think?

26 Dec 2018 22:34:41
Darikwa deflecting the Vrancic strike was the big turning point of the game but what confuses even more than some of Karanka's substitutions is why the hell can we defend better in games when we are 0-0 than when we are 2 or 3 nil up?

Red Fred

28 Nov 2018 22:05:08
Wouldn't pay either teams keepers in rusty washers after that.
They both contributed massively to that scoreline.
No way should it have been 5-5.
It had 4-4 written all over it ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Red Fred

1.) 28 Nov 2018 22:11:23
No no 5 4 To us

My third visit to the Pirelli to watch Forest and the third time I've come away having watched a totally inept performance by the away team.
We have a Big squad but 10 changes is far too many with a place in the quarter finals at stake.

Hefele looks like he's wading through quicksand and he along with Janko and Goncvales should be nowhere near the first team again unless we've got 15 injuries.
Dias is so frustrating. 2 great through balls for the goals shows He has ability but needs to add consistency.
Oh well back to league business.

Red Fred

1.) 31 Oct 2018 03:51:39
I will add that Osborn never ever gets played at left back again, janko an bridcutt played as if theyโ€™d been sulking, Watson needs to leave, legs have gone, soudani struggling aswell, the Portuguese lads think they get as much time as they want to play but when other players create space for them they can play, its A typical forest performance again, if they donโ€™t show up against Sheff Utd I fear for the manager.

Bob Hope with either Red always.
Westwood back in favour since Luhukay was sacked and Heaton back to being Burnley's No.1.

If that's true then it's very likely going to be adios.
Our record at the Den stinks.
We're probably going to need to be 3 goals up again to get a result cus as soon as Millwall get desperate and bring Morrison on then the aerial bombardment begins and we're done for.
We couldn't defend a 2 goal lead in the home fixture.

Why?
They will be relegated by then and we'll be in the automatic promotion places.

Shame he didn't choose Birmingham instead.
Not really excited by this one.
2 decent seasons in his career and probably past his best now.
Villa fans didn't rate him very highly as went missing in big games.
Then there's that ridiculous beard! Oh dear.

Why did the game even merit a prem ref? They can't wait to steal the show and give a pen or red card.

Agreed. Shocking starting 11. It seems Picking Murphy ahead of a striker on 15 goals is more to help defend opposition set pieces than for any attacking threat. Osborn in the no.10 roll lol.
If Lolley doesn't perform then where is the threat in that starting team?
Get used to boring predictable tactics as that has always been his style.
Can't keep relying on speculative 25 yard strikes and a dodgy keeper not being able to keep them out like last week.

There's obviously a reason why they're still not at these better clubs than ours.
The team we fielded against Bristol City would be lucky to win another game all season.
