Since reid hobbs and cohen got injured we all no we have been missing a leader and this is partly why we are struggling. we really do need a leader to come forward and take this great squad forward but who can do that?as you look through the team its evident that there isn't a natural leader in the group plenty of quality players but not that attribute of leadership. we need a player that is vocal and can rip into or encourage the team when he sees fit. in my eyes you can't bring that sort of player in on loan or buy him as he needs to know the team well, like reid, hobbs and cohen. without a leader we will struggle to get out of the rut this is why its important for the fans to get behind the team and most of all the players to get there heads up and play for each other and the badge but also to help the fans get behind them. we will come good i have no doubt about that.
Come on you reds

Defensive frailties aside, we do lack leadership and we lack a creative playmaker in central midfield. The fact Lansbury is a prime candidate for both, yet has embraced neither, goes along way to explaining our current predicament.

Last season you would have counted on Lansbury, but nope. Also Darlow could have been an option, but nope.

Well I have been labouring these points - creative midfielder, link between defence and attack for some weeks now but I guess the management cannot do to much because of new curbs on expenditure via FFP etc. Lansbury not leading anything. So get racking your brains and see if we still have an inspiring leader elsewhere in the squad, or if not who could we loan on a temp. basis who has those qualities and is around and available elsewhere - it doesn't matter what position they play. We need options we currently don't seem to have but I bet there's an experienced 30+ player out there who could do it!

If Darren Fletcher wasnt on crazy money at Utd I would suggest him. Otherwise its got to be Guedioura.

His name is Steve ;-)

Since when was Geddy a leader?

He was captain of Algeria.

For me the disappointment is in KW and MM both players have a wealth of experience both playing in Europe against some brilliant teams and it appears as though neither can organise a championship defence. I would be looking at KW and MM to put their hand to be the leaders, but neither seem to say a lot on the pitch or set an example when we're up against it. That's more so recently because we have shown character earlier in the season, ballmouth springs to mind.

When? Thought it was Bougherra?
