For all the negative reaction to Johan beneloane joining us and i have looked at his stats. Some of the stuff on youtube show a comepetent mobile skilful tough tackling defender. Can do no worse than what we have available.

rutland red1

1.) 18 Jan 2019 05:07:20
YouTube is the worst players best friend.youtube can make anyone look a world beater.

2.) 18 Jan 2019 07:25:19
A lot better than what we have Rutland at least he's a defender doing a defending job .not a midfielder or a winger as used over the past 12 months .hey we might even have a manager doing a managers job now as well what do you think Sutton ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜†

3.) 18 Jan 2019 07:46:09
I like it Skegs.

4.) 18 Jan 2019 08:05:23
I spoke with a leicester fan who watches every game including under 23's home and away and he says he is a very good cultured centreback. Gets stuck in and may take a few yellows. He reckons oneil is just the man to get the best from him.

5.) 18 Jan 2019 09:32:47
Can also be the best players worst friend, depends how you look at it Sutton. ๐Ÿค”

6.) 18 Jan 2019 14:36:02
Johan Benaloane. sounds like he's no mates!???
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

7.) 18 Jan 2019 15:25:14
MY Leicester mate says he is solid and a good player. He has just been unlucky with the form of Huth and Morgan and now Maguire.

8.) 18 Jan 2019 15:41:02
Is Lacovitti out on loan? If not, why not give him a game? And what about the young Swedish centre back? I hope young players get more opportunity under M O'N than they did with Karanka.

9.) 18 Jan 2019 15:57:25
Yes, what is the point of keeping Anel Ahmedhodzic if we don't even play him when no other defender is fit. It must sent the message that you will never get a chance if he doesn't get one now.

10.) 18 Jan 2019 16:00:24
And no, Lacovitti - Scottish International - is not out on loan as he was in the U23 side.

And Anel Ahmedhodzic is also an intenational.

11.) 18 Jan 2019 19:57:03
If we signed Messi someone on here would say he's past it, give the bloke a chance and i mean MON

12.) 18 Jan 2019 20:55:11
Read the comments about Iacovitti and Ahmedhodzic not being played. Seen a fair bit of these two with the U23s.
Not seen much from Iacovitti to get excited about. Ahmedhodzic is a real talent but last time I saw him, 9 months ago, still way too skinny for a Championship centre half. He's only 19 and 6 foot 5. Just give him some time to fill out. Fingers crossed, he could be a real gem

28 Dec 2018 12:02:42
Fox was seething as he came off and had to be restrained. Was it from the ref or AK? Their were some long injuries and lots of subs plus pants did his usual time wasting which is about as thick as he gets. So the ref, rightly made us pay.
Bringing on Dias would have angered the senior pros as we were dealing with wave after wave of pressure from Norwich.

Watson sat deep or Osborn harassing would have made sense but Dias? AK is on a suicide mission and will not admit his mistakes. Darikwa is so inconsistent its a shame, sorry but if AK perseveres with certain players we will never be a proper force. He has one style, if you can call it that, which is effective away but he has no plan B at home. How can teams like Norwich swarm over us at home yet we are feeble and directionless? Frustrated?!

rutland red1

1.) 28 Dec 2018 15:13:33
For me foxy and colback men of the match for me fox probally wanted to get at dias and give him a b******g after all he deserved it woeful.

2.) 28 Dec 2018 21:25:16
Pantilimon booked for time wasting in the 97th minute.
Would the ref have blown up if he hadnt p@@@ed about and just lumped it up?
Guess we will never know

3.) 28 Dec 2018 23:42:16
Pants is PANTS and any other manager will drop him,s---------tt

02 Feb 2018 16:45:05
Ben watson expected to sign after the Fulhsm gsme. Positve talks held at the academy. Will be great for us.

rutland red1

1.) 02 Feb 2018 16:53:30
Him and Coleback would be a couple of firebrands in midfield, along with Bridcutt I can see our work-rate going up.I don't know how Bouchalakis is going to fit in. There will be a lot of question-marks over our present players by the summer.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 17:34:50
I can't see where osborn and dowell are going to fit in

3.) 02 Feb 2018 18:30:22
Really Dowell is one of the best players we have

4.) 02 Feb 2018 21:03:36
Dowell is a luxury, which is fine when your playing well and winning.
His problem is he goes missing in games, sometimes for 70 mins then might pull a thunderbolt out of the blue.
Other than a big deflected goal against wolves,he has not played well for a while.
Needs to put a full shift in,but then you have to take into account he's been in a side that has a unbalanced midfield with four being left footed on everymatchday.
Should be more balanced now,but i'd leave him out tomorrow in favour of ged colback osborn cash and tomlin.
Stronger players against a very good side in great form.

5.) 02 Feb 2018 21:07:06
He is very talented i will give him that. he's a luxury player if the teams playing well he does well other than that he's very lazy

6.) 03 Feb 2018 08:12:45
Your right ff. we now have pit ponies as well as show ponies.

7.) 03 Feb 2018 11:42:41
New guys aside as I don't know about them, Dowell is the only one who can hit a decent free kick.

8.) 03 Feb 2018 13:24:04
As well as a dodgy corner ๐Ÿ™„

9.) 03 Feb 2018 21:22:20
Like i said should have left Dowell out, snowboater who plays for himself, not the team.

10.) 04 Feb 2018 11:58:13
Dowell needs to be dropped for a few games.

11.) 04 Feb 2018 14:57:29
Lol what's a snowboater it sounds good craic ๐Ÿ˜‚

27 Jan 2018 22:31:22
At least now their can be no argument. Karanka has given him a chsnce and he has taken it. I told you all Velios is not crap well done karanka.

rutland red1

1.) 28 Jan 2018 06:39:53
Just seen the goal, great finish. Playing brereton ahead of velios has cost us .

2.) 28 Jan 2018 09:48:49
Two bad defensive errors cost us.
I said it was game over at half time.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 14:28:21
Ff79 you seemed happy with the line up yesterday. You then thriugh what you saw changed your tone. Was it really that bad???

4.) 28 Jan 2018 16:16:41
Rutland. Nearly everyone thought it was a positive line up. We even convinced ourselves that Carayol might be part of a master plan. We sat or stood mainly and watched absolute garbage.

5.) 28 Jan 2018 16:51:12
Ff79 i do not get csryol. He always looks liks he is limping either thst or he has one leg shorter than the other. For sure Karanka will have his eyes open now. Its so disrespectful to 4000 travelling fans for that to ever happen again.

6.) 28 Jan 2018 21:03:34
Rutland

Karanka will have Carayol out the door as he had his eyes opened at Boro with him. He has no work ethic or courage and is good for about 20 mins a game on a good day!

He'd be better off in the French league where he will get more space.

7.) 28 Jan 2018 22:22:19
Rutland I was happy with the line up,the problem is they didn't turn up yet again.
They win a game against the top side in the league and follow it up with a shocker, been doing it for too long now,It's inexcusable big clearout required as they don't have the mental strength to succed

8.) 29 Jan 2018 05:15:31
Mental strength that's a good point. These next 4 days are going to be interesting. What does karanka do??? Stick or twist????

9.) 29 Jan 2018 08:36:31
On that performance twist.
Boukalkis fox Carayol definite non starters for me and and Dowell and Brereton dropping to the bench.

21 Jan 2018 13:46:46
Karanka has said we will finish the window with a stronger squad than we have now. That was after the game yesterday so he must have soms agreements in place!

rutland red1

1.) 21 Jan 2018 14:17:07
Great News, and in the Red door walks.?

2.) 21 Jan 2018 14:21:41
Could also mean Worrall and Brereton are going nowhere as well as

3.) 21 Jan 2018 14:58:20
All we need to do to have a stronger squad at the end of the window is sell Mills?

4.) 21 Jan 2018 15:21:06
Ha ha good one

5.) 21 Jan 2018 16:23:43
Finishing the window stronger could just mean the players he has will improve in their right positions, not necessarily any more additions to the squad. Unless of course McKay or someone else leaves. Personally I think we have a good talented squad who can keep us up, even though there still will be ups and downs in terms of results. Let's work with what we've got and not expect some sort of single saviour to come in and put everything right all of a sudden.

6.) 21 Jan 2018 16:33:52
He may also mean that they will be mentally stronger following this and the Arsenal results and their new found team ethic.
That or we have some decent players coming in. maybe he is close to someone arriving.
Clayton please!!

7.) 21 Jan 2018 16:43:43
I think he will add two this window. One central defender and one strong chsracter in midfield. We have no cover for worral or bridcutt. Personally manciennd is no captain as he never ever speaks on the pitch so maybe expect a vociferous addition.

8.) 21 Jan 2018 18:02:07
Bsred, I think Karanka would like a general on the pitch. A strong character to lift the players if we are flagging, to enforce AK's directions. Clough had McGovern, AK trusts a player at Boro, I hope he gets his man.

9.) 21 Jan 2018 18:35:03
Billy (like him or hate him) sought out & got McKenna. We've had no-one since other than CC but always injured.

10.) 21 Jan 2018 19:02:09
Mancienne might not be a captain but we are a much better team when heโ€™s in the back 4.

11.) 21 Jan 2018 19:32:59
Never saw McGovern give the team a lift ,like Mance just got on with his job and led by example.
Others in a that side were much much more vocal than McGovern ,you don,t have to bawl and shout to be skipper you need the others respect.
CARLO

12.) 21 Jan 2018 20:14:55
Captains work in different ways, a crunching tackle to set the tone of a game, encouraging defensive shape, scoring a whopper. You could be the best player but a rubbish captain, I like a talker who praises, chastises, rollocks and encourages, a conductor on the pitch. We don't have that but I believe we would be that stronger side, if we could sign such a player.

13.) 21 Jan 2018 21:17:23
Carlo mancienne struggles with concentration. His communication with colleagues is ziltch. He is not a bad player but then he is not a great player. Captain material nope.

14.) 21 Jan 2018 22:32:33
Not a massive Fox fan but he was talking up the youngsters all game yesterday, good stuff from him.

15.) 21 Jan 2018 22:46:55
There's no great players at mid table championship clubs.
CARLO

16.) 22 Jan 2018 00:05:58
You can have great players in any league and at any standard, the problem is keeping hold of them and trying to make sure the clubs get something out of them ie . Promotion or cash in the bank.

17.) 22 Jan 2018 00:58:28
Have said for a while that it is ridiculous that the only player I see every game shouting and talking to everyone all the time is young Joe Worrall!
None of our players who have worn the armband lately are overly vocal, Manchienne, Lichij or Mills. No matter what position a leader is something we need.

18.) 22 Jan 2018 13:09:17
All that means is mills will be sold ๐Ÿ‘

19.) 22 Jan 2018 14:13:07
Who is going to buy Mills and pay 10 g a week ,perhaps Dougiie will take him to CP ?
CARLO

Well 6 games in to the new regime and how are things sitting?
Fantastic I say. The feel good factor is back and cohesion restored. Players have responded, are focussed and appreciate thst if they work for the shirt they have a chance. No room for complacency the team look like a unit. Some call it hoofball but clearing your lines or advancing the ball out of defence is better than thst continuosly risky pitter patter playing from the back that clearly did not suit. The connection between the fans and coaching staff is part of the reason. With a fairer outcome from poor ref decisions we would be flying right now. Albeit we are still pegged back a bit the impact has been brilliant from Martin and Roy has moved in seamlessly. The passion restored and with it discipline, something we were once famous for. That loving feeling is growing on trentside.

rutland red1

1.) 19 Feb 2019 09:51:04
Thereโ€™s nothing wrong with a bit of direct play eventually teams will start to sit back which is when we play shortball. I think we can do both. Iโ€™d really like us to play 3 at the back (when we can) and have Osborn and Darikwa play as wingbacks with Colback and Yates. Then we can have Lolley Grabban Cash or Carvalho sitting in behind Grabban and Bonatini (though realistically Murphy)

2.) 19 Feb 2019 10:45:31
It's also good to see that the team are able to adapt to different formations and thus keep the opposition guessing.

3.) 19 Feb 2019 12:37:54
It,s starting to remind me of Harry Bassetts team ,some football ,some physical, same result next season hey ,Champions !
CARLO

4.) 19 Feb 2019 14:02:44
I do not expect anything special for the rest of this season. Not sure as yet if this is the right manager but am prepared to be convinced and patient with the man.
My one hope us that he is given a full season to see what he can do and that's something that hasn't happened for some time.

03 Feb 2019 12:56:57
Having seen the pen decision i am flaberghasted. The foul before was enough for a pen but ti send a player off which comes with a 3 match ban is ludicrous and for sure i would appeal it. His hands were face height and not away from his body. He was falling backwards and the ball had probably already crossed the line. So to give a pen a red card? Shocking. Just award a gial and move on. It was not deliberate.

rutland red1

1.) 03 Feb 2019 13:13:48
I would be more concerned about how easy the brum player went past Robinson. Far too easy.

2.) 03 Feb 2019 13:22:48
Hand to ball. Definite red card for me. No arguments

3.) 03 Feb 2019 13:46:16
What gets me is they got this double jeopardy rule for goalkeepers yet when an out field player commits a similar offence itโ€™s ok for them to be punished twice, why do goalkeepers always seem to get special treatment,

4.) 03 Feb 2019 13:48:54
Wish the Ref at Leeds when we played them had seen that one against us Psycho.

27 Jan 2019 09:40:52
Reading red bentleys lovely tribute to his 89 yr old uncle was moving RIP sir. It reminded me of my time as a season tkt holder in the main stand 89 to 92. Their was an elder chap who sat in row dz on the tunnel wall. He was a seasoned forest fan and at half time he always made his way to my seat where he would light a filterless cigarette and regale me of stories of forest through the 50's the fire and tge 59 cup final. He talked of proudly of his son, who sometimes made it on match day. It was such a joy on matchday just chattjng to him. Lovely old man. To me he was the spirit of forest and the heart of us fans. I always tried to get a seat in that area if i could get down to the CG in the 90's
He was always there and his smile when he saw me was fantastic. However late 99 his seat was empty and the next time filled by a younger man. I felt sad not knowing what had become of my old friend. Being a Forest fan is like family people enter your life fleetingly on matchday but leave a huge impression. I miss you old boy๐Ÿ˜ฃ.

1.) 27 Jan 2019 12:12:43
To all our dear departed reds fans may your support never be forgotten and your legacy live on . To all those family members left behind our support for the club is at times fanatical, sincere and honest , we praise your tolerance.

2.) 27 Jan 2019 12:50:52
Well said mate.

3.) 27 Jan 2019 14:21:47
Great post rutland red1. Your words immediately took me back to memories of my Grandad. Standing in the old Trent End with him when i was a lad, getting drenched in the Bridgeford End in the European Cup round against Oesters and going back home with him on the South Notts bus. Happy days. And if it wasnโ€™t for him taking me to those games, i couldโ€™ve been a Fester fan. But now thanks to my Grandad, myself, my brother and our four sons all follow the Reds.

22 Jan 2019 09:14:00
Bit of a rock and a hard place for MON. As he has signed for 18 months and has said he walks if we do not get promoted then in reality he has to get a team constructed and moving forward NOW. If he just consolidates this remaining season then he chucks all eggs in one basket at the beginning of next and if it does not happen early doors then desperation might kick in. I know it contradicts what i said last week but havjng given it thought he really needs a structure and better players in place this season and build some momentum going into next. Getting things in place now will give him a good pre season and not the sort of shambles we are used to.

rutland red1

17 Jan 2019 18:51:25
If roy decides to decline the offer then i think Stuart Pearce Would be a great no2 to Mon. Could sort defence has great contacts and brought some quality to the club 4 years ago. With guppy too it would be a great team.

rutland red1

1.) 17 Jan 2019 19:09:55
Agree Rutland would luv psycho back at the club he would be a great asset. If you wanna catch up tomoro pal I'll be home and you can email we can talk all things forest and the town of steel.

2.) 17 Jan 2019 19:11:19
Yes i would like that.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 19:28:04
I'd have phsyco back full stop, intellegent football brain and great with young players,he would be a great asset.

4.) 17 Jan 2019 20:58:21
And an eye for a player.
Imagine those two walking out onto the pitch or even o neill Pearce and Keane all in the dug out! lol.
That would be some chuffing reception

5.) 17 Jan 2019 21:17:02
Beats karanka hey Sutton?
Walking with his head down and hands in his pockets ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

VAR will ruin football. Life is full of mistakes and dodgy refs lol. We have been unlucky, very unlucky this season and this last week its been dreadful. However technology is not the answer. Football is wgat it is and refs mistakes are all part and parcel. I have seen var interpretation being too difficult to call and we will see it extended into other areas which thresten the integrity of the game. Refs get an awful lot right but when ghey make a mistake it can be costly. I think the punishment to the player should reflect the severity of the mistake ie points. As for the goal at preston the lino should have have helped on thst one. but var??? Sport killer!!!!!

Stevief, they are streets above us as a team. Good young debutante manager. Only 5 points but they are well organised, nice blend. Mon will need more than 18 months to reshuffle this pack. The sending off on Saturday just adds to the misery....
I am only saying how I feel but we made such a gaff employing Ak Gary monk was my choice and that is on the record...
