Ben watson expected to sign after the Fulhsm gsme. Positve talks held at the academy. Will be great for us.

rutland red1

1.) 02 Feb 2018 16:53:30
Him and Coleback would be a couple of firebrands in midfield, along with Bridcutt I can see our work-rate going up.I don't know how Bouchalakis is going to fit in. There will be a lot of question-marks over our present players by the summer.

2.) 02 Feb 2018 17:34:50
I can't see where osborn and dowell are going to fit in

3.) 02 Feb 2018 18:30:22
Really Dowell is one of the best players we have

4.) 02 Feb 2018 21:03:36
Dowell is a luxury, which is fine when your playing well and winning.
His problem is he goes missing in games, sometimes for 70 mins then might pull a thunderbolt out of the blue.
Other than a big deflected goal against wolves,he has not played well for a while.
Needs to put a full shift in,but then you have to take into account he's been in a side that has a unbalanced midfield with four being left footed on everymatchday.
Should be more balanced now,but i'd leave him out tomorrow in favour of ged colback osborn cash and tomlin.
Stronger players against a very good side in great form.

5.) 02 Feb 2018 21:07:06
He is very talented i will give him that. he's a luxury player if the teams playing well he does well other than that he's very lazy

6.) 03 Feb 2018 08:12:45
Your right ff. we now have pit ponies as well as show ponies.

7.) 03 Feb 2018 11:42:41
New guys aside as I don't know about them, Dowell is the only one who can hit a decent free kick.

8.) 03 Feb 2018 13:24:04
As well as a dodgy corner 🙄

9.) 03 Feb 2018 21:22:20
Like i said should have left Dowell out, snowboater who plays for himself, not the team.

10.) 04 Feb 2018 11:58:13
Dowell needs to be dropped for a few games.

11.) 04 Feb 2018 14:57:29
Lol what's a snowboater it sounds good craic 😂

27 Jan 2018 22:31:22
At least now their can be no argument. Karanka has given him a chsnce and he has taken it. I told you all Velios is not crap well done karanka.

rutland red1

1.) 28 Jan 2018 06:39:53
Just seen the goal, great finish. Playing brereton ahead of velios has cost us .

2.) 28 Jan 2018 09:48:49
Two bad defensive errors cost us.
I said it was game over at half time.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 14:28:21
Ff79 you seemed happy with the line up yesterday. You then thriugh what you saw changed your tone. Was it really that bad???

4.) 28 Jan 2018 16:16:41
Rutland. Nearly everyone thought it was a positive line up. We even convinced ourselves that Carayol might be part of a master plan. We sat or stood mainly and watched absolute garbage.

5.) 28 Jan 2018 16:51:12
Ff79 i do not get csryol. He always looks liks he is limping either thst or he has one leg shorter than the other. For sure Karanka will have his eyes open now. Its so disrespectful to 4000 travelling fans for that to ever happen again.

6.) 28 Jan 2018 21:03:34
Rutland

Karanka will have Carayol out the door as he had his eyes opened at Boro with him. He has no work ethic or courage and is good for about 20 mins a game on a good day!

He'd be better off in the French league where he will get more space.

7.) 28 Jan 2018 22:22:19
Rutland I was happy with the line up,the problem is they didn't turn up yet again.
They win a game against the top side in the league and follow it up with a shocker, been doing it for too long now,It's inexcusable big clearout required as they don't have the mental strength to succed

8.) 29 Jan 2018 05:15:31
Mental strength that's a good point. These next 4 days are going to be interesting. What does karanka do??? Stick or twist????

9.) 29 Jan 2018 08:36:31
On that performance twist.
Boukalkis fox Carayol definite non starters for me and and Dowell and Brereton dropping to the bench.

21 Jan 2018 13:46:46
Karanka has said we will finish the window with a stronger squad than we have now. That was after the game yesterday so he must have soms agreements in place!

rutland red1

1.) 21 Jan 2018 14:17:07
Great News, and in the Red door walks.?

2.) 21 Jan 2018 14:21:41
Could also mean Worrall and Brereton are going nowhere as well as

3.) 21 Jan 2018 14:58:20
All we need to do to have a stronger squad at the end of the window is sell Mills?

4.) 21 Jan 2018 15:21:06
Ha ha good one

5.) 21 Jan 2018 16:23:43
Finishing the window stronger could just mean the players he has will improve in their right positions, not necessarily any more additions to the squad. Unless of course McKay or someone else leaves. Personally I think we have a good talented squad who can keep us up, even though there still will be ups and downs in terms of results. Let's work with what we've got and not expect some sort of single saviour to come in and put everything right all of a sudden.

6.) 21 Jan 2018 16:33:52
He may also mean that they will be mentally stronger following this and the Arsenal results and their new found team ethic.
That or we have some decent players coming in. maybe he is close to someone arriving.
Clayton please!!

7.) 21 Jan 2018 16:43:43
I think he will add two this window. One central defender and one strong chsracter in midfield. We have no cover for worral or bridcutt. Personally manciennd is no captain as he never ever speaks on the pitch so maybe expect a vociferous addition.

8.) 21 Jan 2018 18:02:07
Bsred, I think Karanka would like a general on the pitch. A strong character to lift the players if we are flagging, to enforce AK's directions. Clough had McGovern, AK trusts a player at Boro, I hope he gets his man.

9.) 21 Jan 2018 18:35:03
Billy (like him or hate him) sought out & got McKenna. We've had no-one since other than CC but always injured.

10.) 21 Jan 2018 19:02:09
Mancienne might not be a captain but we are a much better team when he’s in the back 4.

11.) 21 Jan 2018 19:32:59
Never saw McGovern give the team a lift ,like Mance just got on with his job and led by example.
Others in a that side were much much more vocal than McGovern ,you don,t have to bawl and shout to be skipper you need the others respect.
CARLO

12.) 21 Jan 2018 20:14:55
Captains work in different ways, a crunching tackle to set the tone of a game, encouraging defensive shape, scoring a whopper. You could be the best player but a rubbish captain, I like a talker who praises, chastises, rollocks and encourages, a conductor on the pitch. We don't have that but I believe we would be that stronger side, if we could sign such a player.

13.) 21 Jan 2018 21:17:23
Carlo mancienne struggles with concentration. His communication with colleagues is ziltch. He is not a bad player but then he is not a great player. Captain material nope.

14.) 21 Jan 2018 22:32:33
Not a massive Fox fan but he was talking up the youngsters all game yesterday, good stuff from him.

15.) 21 Jan 2018 22:46:55
There's no great players at mid table championship clubs.
CARLO

16.) 22 Jan 2018 00:05:58
You can have great players in any league and at any standard, the problem is keeping hold of them and trying to make sure the clubs get something out of them ie . Promotion or cash in the bank.

17.) 22 Jan 2018 00:58:28
Have said for a while that it is ridiculous that the only player I see every game shouting and talking to everyone all the time is young Joe Worrall!
None of our players who have worn the armband lately are overly vocal, Manchienne, Lichij or Mills. No matter what position a leader is something we need.

18.) 22 Jan 2018 13:09:17
All that means is mills will be sold 👍

19.) 22 Jan 2018 14:13:07
Who is going to buy Mills and pay 10 g a week ,perhaps Dougiie will take him to CP ?
CARLO

19 Jan 2018 07:02:24
Karanka has denied bidding for clayton saying he is concentrating on " my own players "
That would indicate no signings this window. Brave man?

rutland red1

1.) 19 Jan 2018 08:51:57
lets wait and see shall we.

2.) 19 Jan 2018 10:26:43
Suttonpete: the worst thing would be to panic buy players who are cheap but are journeymen with no real talent as we have done in the past. Maybe we should just stick with our own lads, and bring a few more youngsters into the side.

3.) 19 Jan 2018 11:11:08
Wasn’t wanting more youngsters in one of the reasons MW and co got the sack? We need experienced Championship players but I don’t hold out much hope of getting the Boro lads, they are the type of players we need. Not much time left to get deals done.

4.) 19 Jan 2018 11:23:33
I think Karanka mentioned we had a very young side and suggested that going forwards he would address this so we are more balanced with experience as well.

I'd be surprised if we don't see 1 or 2 in during this window, there is probably more going on behind the scenes than we know, duck swimming analogy and all that.

12 days is loads of time:)

5.) 19 Jan 2018 11:58:05
I have not assumed anything or stated he should or should not. I have never panicked being a forest fan, my glass is always half full and try and remain optimistic. I am certainly not one of these calling for a managers head every time we are on a losing run. We obviously need some improvement, but that comes over time. let's not forget were we were last season!!

6.) 19 Jan 2018 13:00:43
got to agree Gingerkid
We should be pleased that we are being more professional as a club not like the Fawaz days.
There is plenty of time to bring in the right players to improve the team

7.) 19 Jan 2018 13:01:22
Let's not forget there is more than one team we can buy players from 😂

8.) 19 Jan 2018 13:23:33
From what I have read, we have shown interest in the Boro players, but can't match or compete with the wages. If we get some players out first, it then frees up some money for wages.

9.) 19 Jan 2018 13:29:36
Daz - I don't think one of the reasons MW got sacked was for bringing youngsters in??? he got some youngsters in and then tried to get them to play out of position or in a different way. Bit like a site manager getting sparkies to do the plumbing :)

10.) 19 Jan 2018 13:58:19
2Tone I was trying to highlight the fact that MW wanted to bring in “more” young players to go with what we already have and the powers that be didn’t agree with that.So it was not “the” reason but apparently it was one of them.

Read with interest the debate on the rumours site. Seeing both sides of the argument i have to say statistically and factually ff79 is spot on. I agree with most of what he says on this occaision. The counter argument holds water too.
The fact we conceded from a bouncing low ball into the box suggests our defending is still frafile. On the 7 unbeaten run everybody cheered up and felt right now we are not losing we can maybe expand a little and build an attcking ekement for the future. Truth is we have collapsed again and confidence is being sapped. Only the manager knows the answer to these issues and the higherarchy knows the consequences of a poor run in. Karanka needs to rinse the hell out of this squad and get the positivity back. Only a fool would ignore a survival by the skin of the teeth job. I would like the men upstairs to back Karanka and tell him that just survive and we will back you with investment in the summer. Take the pressure off and unleash the players for the rest of the season. I don't go to many matches so rely on those who see it first hand. If blackburn and wigan get promoted i will be at more matches. But for now its get behind the team and management. Change is not needed but might be inevitable as paticence is not plentiful from the man in Greece.

Having listened to the banter, its clear a lot are disgruntked with Aitor. Ff79 is consistent in his negativity, to which he makes a lot of fair points. I only hope he does not still hold a candle for the clueless warbo. Personally i said i would have preferred Gary Monk to Aitor as Monk would bring a different dynamic and purpose. A few laid into me for these thoughts. Monk seems to have reinvigorated Brum and did a sterling job at Leeds last season. But we have Aitor and i doubt that will change before mid season next year if things do not imorove. Its ok shoring up the defence but we have never dealt with our inability to score or create a lot of chances, going by what i read on here. I have akways said that even the tightest if defences neec the luxury of a few gials going in to at the other end to take the pressure off. We still seem tk struggle with balls into the box at set pieces and lose attacjers in the box from open play. Someone said we need a striker. Possibly but we need more creativity. I think the defence is creaking again and without the flair we are on a knife edge. Cash is missed with his tenacity, although his decision making with his fjnal ball can be naive but he is much more alert and decisive than Dowell will ever be, mystery why he keeps playing imo.
Karanka will need to conjour up a plan that gets us a few goals and lifts the spirits. We will probably survive by the skin of our teeth as the gap to relegation is just too wide. But if the positvity does not increase over the run in it may not be a given that Aitor Karanka will be afforded time in the summer. I sincerely hope he can muster the troops!

rutland red1

1.) 08 Apr 2018 09:51:58
By all accounts Dowell had another stinker but I bet he did enough to be in Tuesday ,s squad ,since his loss of form it,s often been like playing with ten men ,we obviously have an agreement with Everton that suits them much better than us and have allowed it to ruin Clough as a Forest player ,we are playing a dangerous game in continually playing him when he is so blatantly bang out of form ,he seems to be bigger than the club ,plainly ridiculous.
Be strong AK and demand to be allowed to drop him for the good of US!
CARLO

2.) 08 Apr 2018 09:53:01
Here we go again, the doom and gloomers have come out of there holes, for goodness sake every team goes through a bad patch whether top or bottom of the league, i understand we need an out and out striker (half chance taker) and our midfield could be more creative, but calling for AK to go now is madness, so squeeze the cheeks of your bums together and sit tight the last 6 games are going to be a heart stopping roller coaster, so enjoy the ride, we ain't going down 🏇

3.) 08 Apr 2018 09:58:59
Spell checks working well Rutland?😂😂

4.) 08 Apr 2018 10:08:53
Every time you sack a manager you start again whether it be AK,Monk whoever.2 weeks of a transfer window and 3 months of a season isn't going to turn a struggling team which we were, into promotion contenders.AK should be fairly judged next season after a full pre season and another bite at the transfer market. This crave for instant success is what's got us and many other clubs in a mess. The squad has been poor for years and AK made a start in dismantling it in January.More major reconstruction is needed in the summer and I look forward to it.

5.) 08 Apr 2018 10:29:57
Nobody is expecting instant success perks,it's about seeing some progress in our performances on the pitch.
There is none it's gone backwards,he's signed 8 players and two he doesn't bother playing at all.
Sends three strikers out on loan without taking a look at them, leaving us threadbare up top.
Plays darikwa over Eric and has a makeshift left back even though he's signed one.
Two holding midfielders in home games
One striker up top
An overweight tomlin trying to unlock defended.
That's not progress

6.) 08 Apr 2018 11:11:13
79 AK will never please you,I get that.

7.) 08 Apr 2018 11:19:50
Oh well 79 we have veloios lol

8.) 08 Apr 2018 11:27:41
Karanka is a class act and the best manager we have had in decades. He is staying and will be backed in the summer to complete his jigsaw.

So all you Foremoaners get back in your box and get real! Maybe we should swap him for Pulis to give you all something to really moan about?

Boro fans would have him back in a breath!

9.) 08 Apr 2018 12:41:38
What jigsaw?
You can't put one together with so many pieces missing.
Best manager my ar""e,
He can't be backed in the summer unless we can off load a dozen players first,I wouldn't trust him.
The loan players all need to go back with the exception of tobias.
Sign a goalkeeper who can catch the ball instead of fisting it for a starter.

11 Mar 2018 17:39:02
I thought ben watson got yellow card in first half? Ref gave yellow to watson then colback. Or did i imagine it?
Btw how good was fox again today.
Brereton only plays to occupy their defence no goal threat, no good in the air. Cash wasted out wide. One up top leaves us struggling to get on the end of anything and that proved so today. Good battling performance but attacking threat required.

rutland red1

08 Mar 2018 15:46:07
In view of the discussions re our next game and how we seem to be moving firward nicely. I would let Velios loose on Sunday. Murphy is spent this season and maybe permenantly. I think tomli velios and lolley could really get at Derby. Ben B is a liability at the moment and could end up having an early bath. Velios is a big lad with a bit of skill who needs a run in the team. Trust plays a big part in AK'S selections.
Talking of big lads i watched the wolves demolish Leeds lastnight. Power pace skill and top drawer finishing. They could have scored 10. Maybe leeds were just poor who knows.
Can't wait for Sunday!

rutland red1

1.) 08 Mar 2018 16:04:08
Not the Velios thing again we’re that bad up front we after rely on a bloke that 3 managers wouldn’t play and what’s aks answer to it all send Cummings clough Walker out there all a lot better than what we have up front now be better bringing someone in from the under 23s than have Velios the clown up front

2.) 08 Mar 2018 16:19:32
Skegs you stick with your goaless wonders and we will push for decent striker. If you think walker cummings ben snd murphy have goals in them at the moment get some money on them. Murphy is done end of. And out of Ben and velios its time to give him a go. Their is nobody else at the club. And unless you are blind when velios has played he has got into decent positions. I just dknt know where you come from skmetimes skegs but you really have it in for indjviduals which does you no favours.

3.) 08 Mar 2018 16:54:47
Finally someone talking sense. We fans don’t just say stuff to be controversial. We watch the team week in and week out and form an opinion based on what we see with our own two eyes so when people like Skeggs call Velios a clown it kind of makes me wonder how he came to this conclusion. I think he just likes to annoy people with his daft comments.

4.) 08 Mar 2018 16:55:27
Did someone say Cummins, Clough & Walker are better than what we have up front?

Cmon, let's keep this real.

5.) 08 Mar 2018 19:39:01
When I last looked at Bolton to see how Clough and Walker were doing,Walker wasn't even in the squad and Clough was on the bench.Hardly tearing it up.Brereton might come good in time but in terms of next season we need to spend some good money on one in the summer.

6.) 08 Mar 2018 20:26:17
🙄👆lol

7.) 09 Mar 2018 08:49:53
Red one makes me smile as what your saying is we just post nice things and nothing negative?
Well dropping Brereton from a side that's on a run is negative for a start,if it ain't broke why try to fix it?
And yet some still want vellios in as though he's some sort of super striker, which he's knowhere near.
We have fans saying Karanka is the one,Maybe and hopefully that will prove the case, but in reality it is too soon to make that assumption.
So everyone take no notice of red one and the way he sees forest through his blinkers and keep posting, wether it's positive, negative, middle of the road or just plain daft or funny.
Because it is BANTER.

07 Mar 2018 08:17:28
Who would have thought that hotchpotched back four would be working as well as it is. Danny fox getting a run in the middle and doing very well. Personally pleased for him. Still not defending crosses confidently but somethjng is going our way at the back. Maybe its the fact that their is more talking and cajoulling particularly from the keeper and Fox. It sounded a bit dour lastnight but as we all agree that we needed to build a platform on not conceding. We have a skipper in Watson and goals in Lolley and tomlin. That will do nicely, well done to all.

Would AK have dropped worrall and mancienne anyway? Worrying if its just luck that forced his hand. Mancienne for me, and i said it many times is poor. I hops worrall watches and learns. He will have future with us for sure. Lkke most on here was delighted that fox has been drafted into the middle. Pants has been a revelation in goal for many reasons but his organisational qualities shine through.
To go to bramall lane, a tough rough team fighting for promotion and keep a clean sheet is commendable and to come out on top second half is evidence of ambition. Well done lads.

Great post hog. One thing I would add is the addition of velios up front removing brereton, Ben has pace but has no ariel attributes, poor decision making etc. Lee Tomlinso is crying out for a clever more streetwise stiker to feed to and off. Murphy looks wooden and unfit so velios to me fits the bill.
So pleased for Fox, we now have a keeper a captain, tenacity and move the ball quicker. Real positive steps!!!

My honest opinion is that their is nothing to lose from massive changes. The minimum from sat is a battling draw. In reality we need to take the game to them, we need some fire in the offensive!

Forget top flight i would be happy with being competitive and consistent in this league. Battling for a top 6 finish and a settled club would do going forward. Their are not many sean dyche's around this era. The big money prem and its premadonas can wait a bit longer. let's get the club competitive and respected once again. Then maybe we can dream!!!!

2 star if pearce had come in now under this regime things might just have been a lot different. Remrmber pearce did bring in some good players, he had our two top plsyers sold from under him to newcastle. Although loaned bsck uz it undermineded pearce. He had massjve injury issues and was under embargo.
I agree with everything you say about neil harris, a great lad and gave us everything when he played.

Ff79 yes he knows best but you have to question why do we put so msny crosses in to the box when we have no recognised striker. Ben is about 5'11 and jumps about 5'12. I think Karanja looks at the non stop running of Brereton and sees thst as an asset to defending from the front. Personally i would like to see velios paired with tomlinson for 30 mins at least.I think the ball would stay out of our hslf longer and we would have more of a goal threat.

Top six should always be your aim. If you aim for mediocrity then the trap door awaits. Warburton was an idiot. No point in elaborating. He is history and has damaged a lot of the youngsters.

rutland red1
