Realistically QPR at home and Reading away, 4 points dropped AK and the club's fault- their falling out. Blackburn at home and Rotherham away, 4 points dropped MON and RK's fault- experimenting with team, when still a chance of top 6. Leeds and WBA away, 4 points dropped cheating players and poor match officials fault- disallowed goal at Preston possible too. We took points off Leeds, WBA, Sheff Utd and Derby and only Norwich and Villa got the better of us in the top 6. Feeling positive for next season? Not me, still feeling down about wasting this one. I get what you are saying scouse, but it's mostly ifs ,buts and maybes. The league table doesn't lie ,at the end of the day.(Yes I just said that!). The fact is that over the course of the season we just weren't up to the required standard.Martin and Roy will separate the wheat from the chaff during the summer. We have just had our highest finish since 2012 (I think) and I believe we can push on next season. By the way, birds are one of the most successful and diverse types of creature on the planet and they descended from dinosaurs. Just saying.

That's called evolution, are we evolving quick enough? The league will be no easier next season. Preston, Bristol City, Boro, Hull, Sheff Wed, Swansea, Stoke, 3 losing play off teams and 3 relegated PL teams are all going to be challenging again. The league may look at Sheff Wed and Derby/Villa, if they don't go up and try docking points but I think they'll bottle it. The Fawaz era has got us playing catch up and against a lot of clubs with parachute payments. Not a level playing field, so we have to adopt the Sheff Utd model and stick with the manager, for a change. FTID.

I would imagine most teams have lost points through bad ref decisions or from positions where they should have won. It's no excuse. We've been as good as anyone on our day this season beating top sides but we've lacked any consistency.
Not quite good enough but moving in the right direction and I'm looking forward to next season.
