How can the present owners put forward the City Ground as a security against a loan being obtained by the new owners, when the ground is owned by the council.

Because we have a long lease on it.

I think i'm right in saying that Forest own three quarters of the city ground and the bit they don't own is the river frontage viz the trent end which is leased from the council.

Does it specifically say the city ground? It may be the academy land its refering to?

I think it refers to the property they own around the ground in various streets as well as the training ground and Academy.

There is a list of properties including 2 houses, area at Gresham gardens trent pool. areas next to ground etc. Quite a long list. Papers mean they can lend forest money as they take control while takeover is finally finalised. Looks as if it will not be long now.

Forest own all the 4 stands and buildings they lease the land off the council.

That is correct JBFC. They own the ground but not the land it stands on which is on a 99 year lease signed recently for a peppercorn rent. It is a like owning your own leasehold flat.
