Paul Taylor has suggested letting Pinillos go could be to create extra funds for the players Warburton wants.

That does suggest Warburton is trying to get quality over quantity.

Could he be after another Andy Reid type player? We do need one.

Uptheforest,

Every manager goes back to players he worked with before, but i doubt the Rangers hierarchy will deal with us.

Who knows how much Pinillos wanted, he could even have wanted a 3/4 year deal, then if he got another serious knee injury, then what.

The way Warburton left hopefully they won't do buisness with us.
Just out of curiosity who would most keep from the squad that gave us such a disastrous season?

Rather than saying I'll keep him and himotherwise we'll end up with a 40 man squad again.
Pinilos going sounds like a lot don't trust Warburton?

Wow, didn't take long for the negativity to set back in. We have a bloated squad and a bloated playing budget, bottom line is we need to sort this out. What we don't know is how much Pinillos wanted, if he wanted to double his wages and with his injury record it was probably a hard but necessary choice. I wanted him to stay but personally i think its critical we recruit heavily in midfield and on the wing.

Of course he wanted more money and why did he want more money or demand more money? because he is a very good player and the fans loved him for that, the fans put him on a pedi stall by giving him the praise that they thought he warranted even with his injuries.
Does this mean we should get rid of Britt just in case he gets another injury?
If rangers did deal with us it will be at our cost, they will up the price on any player we want. fair play if you want to use players you trust that you've worked with before but surley you should make sure they are as good if not better than what we have or got rid of, do we really need players from the spl that are below our level swing as we only just avoided relegation?

How do you know we are getting rangers players?
If you are going on newspaper speculation were about to sign a dozen players and he's said he only wants about four.
Players have got to be moved on and he isn't going to please every fan, but he's the manager and obviously doesn't fit in with his plans, wait and see who he brings in and wether we improve for it.
We can't get any worse than last season.

Lets just for one minute say Warburton does go after 4 Rangers players, and Rangers are prepared forgive and forget.

That suggests that Warburton from his experience at Rangers, and having seen close up what each players is capable of either deems that each player he goes after is going to improve the team, or that for the money we have to spend they will be equal to what we have but work out cheap in costs in the long run.

Uptheforest, it seems you do not rate Warburton.

{Ed007's Note - Or they're represented by his daughter Elisha...... Waghorn and Tavernier are 2 I know off the top of my head.}

Ed007

Thank you for that information, that has surprised me.

Buying players based on nepotism, or just because you are good mates with someone is disgraceful. Warburton needs to watch himself, managers getting sacked happens quick enough without such like quickening the process.

{Ed007's Note - I've never looked into it in any great detail mate but those two stick in my head from the Rangers fans rants about it at the time, it only came out when Warburton left.}

Please not waghorn, he's been tried in this league and was crapp.
Garner the same.
It does show how poor a league it is when those two are playing and Kenny miller still playing and scoring at his age.
Taverner not seen him play to comment.
