Charlie Adam ifhe is on a free?

There is no such thing, his agent would say:

As Forest do not have a transfer fee to pay MR Adam wants a increase in the wages he was earning, and off course my fee for being his agent increases otherwise i will recommend my client signs for someone else.

My client will also want bonuses for this, that, and the other which would still represent a bargain considering the quality of my client.

What his agent would fail to mention is, if Adam was all they were making out MR Adam would not be a free agent.

Just because a player is a free agent doesn't mean he isn't good enough. some players just aren't in the plans of that manager either there not good enough for that team or they are bringing in a player to improve them.

If the free agent was good enough another club would get to hear the lad is available for transfer and bid for him.

I mentioned in a post quite some time ago that free agents are either:

Injury prone, Too old, Trouble makers, Want too much money, Too inconsistent, or Were rubbish the previous season.

Do you think Real Madrid would let one of their top stars run down their contact, even if that player was not in their managers plans.

Ibra let his contract run down, too old? wanted to much money? injury prone? proved himself in the best league in the world.
Because they have let there contract run down doesn't mean they won't do a job for a team in a lower league or a team lower in the league than the one they are playing in.

It does not matter if you are Real Madrid, or Morecambe you do not allow decent players to leave for nothing.

Ibra as you called him only had a 1 year contract as i remember, although Utd wanted to keep hold of him once he got that bad injury they were not prepared to pay the silly sums of money he wanted.

Off course his age and therefore his ability to get back to best as result would have been a gamble, he also hung around too long to see if Utd got Champions League football next season.

Utd were ruthless once he got his injury and they qualified for CL unlike us who keep hold of injury prone players just incase they stay fit for enough gamess.

We have usually tried to buy success rather than build it by bring in lower league players and havind solid foundations to our success, rather than the hollow success we tried for.

Look where it got us, damned near financial ruin, and administration.
