Talk of liam Lawrence joining is incorrect from what I gather and just rumour building momentum.rob dorsett of Ssn is mates with him and tweeted saying he won't be joining nffc but either Cardiff or salonika. Think we can put this to bed and move on to........

Simon

Believable8 Unbelievable10

I don't particularly want Lawrence but the tweets do not say that he will not be joining at all. He does say that Liam hasn't had any offers from NFFC but then he puts the word 'yet' in capitals with an exclamation mark. I could be reading far too much Into that but seems a little bizarre

Sport 360 say fawaz has said the club are working on work permits for al rashidi, bader al mutawa and hussain fadel.
Thats 10 signings
u reds!!

Believable19 Unbelievable5

Dont forget moussa should sign also

Agree1 Disagree0

Fadel now apparently requires surgery on his injury so his deal may not happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Mutawa looks like decent signing he looked good last night vs brom

Agree0 Disagree1

I disagree. I thought he looked lightweight and he would be dominated by any half decent defender. Some nice touches but was a bit of a headless chicken for me. {Ed034's Note - wasn't he up against prem defenders??

Agree0 Disagree0

I already stated this over a week ago

Agree0 Disagree0

He was ed. but do u not think that we should be signing people that have the ability to mix it with prem defenders and not someone who is no better that what we already have! If he signs it will not be strictly for footballing reasons and I think we all know that. Granted I'm judging on the back of one game pretty much and I recognise that. {Ed034's Note - He'll bring an enthusiasm of wanting to prove he can mix it against big teams, he'll bring interest from Kuwait and that neck of the woods and he seems to be able to score a goal, from watching clips of him.
He seems a confident bloke and of it doesn't work out, then he won't play. For me it's worth a punt

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he is def worth a punt

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd sign him up. I thought he looked very promising. Good touch and always looking for space. I'd take a chance on him

Agree0 Disagree0

Evening all I totally get the point about being up against prem defenders and still doing ok AND his joining potentially opening us up to the asian market (which is massive btw!) I'd just like to know out of interest how many Asian lads came on trial if we are supposed to b signing three? Also I don't think SOD would be forced in to signings he didn't want so they must be able to play a bit?!? As for being light weight that's nowt that a good diet n weights can't sort McKenna was hardly the hulk but he didn't get bossed
Notts Loyal {Ed034's Note - I think there was seven

Agree0 Disagree1

I think anyone who doubts the ability of Mutawa should check him out on youtube, wouldnt class messi an heavyweight?

Agree0 Disagree0

He played really well, good movement off the ball, quick and clever also passed well. By lightweight do you mean he does'nt weigh 14 stone and move like a donkey if so then would you say Messi's lightweight too?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting these guys in is firstly only for upping brand Forest financial gains in the middle east but secondly if these guys get some game time they might just prove all the doubters wrong and become a force to be reckoned with in the championship, it's a win win situation for owners and the club. c'mon you redddsssssssssssss!!!!!!

Just herd that Lawrence will be revealed with cox tomorrow and we are still waiting on bader and fadel's work permit things looking up :)

Delay for Cox on the OS as forest are trying to tie up a deal with Liam Lawrence and announce them together

Believable12 Unbelievable15

Both republic of ireland international with reid on the left, bit of an irish thing going on ! i have seen a pic of someone that looks alot like lawence at the city ground from yesterday so this could be true

Agree1 Disagree0

Swindon his old club, there is a clause that a fee will go to Swindon 250'000? When he signs for nottingham

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not Liam Lawrence that was spotted in the crowd I can assure you, it's a lad I know from chilwell, he's quite flattered lol

Nkred

Agree0 Disagree0

Larwrence has NOT spoken to nffc. Rob Dorset replied to my tweet and said he had text LL and he is either going Cardiff or abroad

Agree0 Disagree0

Liam Lawrence was at game yesterday.
Highly.likely to join.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats weird about this though is why havent wba annonced cox's departure ? Nothing preventing them saying he has moved

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant find this anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps because they have agreed with forest not to announce it. Simple isn't it??

Agree0 Disagree0

He has signed but all the required paperwork will come through on Monday so that's when it'll be official

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant wait to next season lets hope good times are coming wouldnt mind a trip to wembley via play offs , or even better automatic fingers crossed . all i no is i will be their with my lad every home game and some away games come on the reds put a smile back on everyones faces and give us something to cheer about :) {Ed034's Note - You reds!!!!!!!!

A little confused here, Fawaz and Simon Cox have both tweeted he is a NFFC player but it ain't on OS

Believable17 Unbelievable5

Probably awaiting medical, photos and interview before posting on OS

Agree0 Disagree0

That's because they are watching for Lawrence to announce a double signing on the OS

RG09

Agree1 Disagree0

Lot of cats are saying we signing two players !

Agree0 Disagree0

It does seem strange though, there is nothing on the WBA site either, when we sign a player it is normally on the OS straight away or almost {Ed034's Note - He's definetly signed. I'm presuming a bug on the new layout.

Agree0 Disagree0

The new official site is awful..... Anyone with any thoughts on it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't say what i think of it i would get banned {Ed034's Note - Ill day but for your 'it's 'beeping' 'beep' and they should stick it up there 'beeping' 'beep' and go back to the old one

Chelsea CB Sam Hutchinson looking around the CG for a possible loan deal...Very Good Prospect...England u18&19 captain...Newark Red

Believable16 Unbelievable6

Possible look what happened to Terry (as a footballer!).

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a RB

Agree0 Disagree0

How is his fitness now?

He retired from football in 2010 and came back last season.

He has very few first team games under his belt, so a season in the championship would be a make or break for his career.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought we already had a young England defender who isn't ready?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just been on the us tour with Chelsea & played most games. His granddad lives near Grantham & told me he is in good shape after having to retire after a bad knee injury!....Sorry you were right he is a right back.....Newark Red

Fawaz just tweeted, Simon Cox has signed. Come on Simon be our 20+ goal a season striker weve been missing.

James K

Believable13 Unbelievable3

If its true, I must admit I had my reservations about him, but he has scored goals at this level. Struggled to score in PL but has frequently been played out of position.

Lots of other clubs after him so that says a lot to me.

A good signing and is our 20+ goal a season man plus 15 from dex!!!

COYR

Agree0 Disagree0

Well let's hope he's better than that 'one footed wonder' we signed from them last season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure he is a 20+ a season striker but time will tell. All his goals have come for Swindon in the lower leagues. Did nothing at west brom

Agree0 Disagree0

Can confirm the tweet. Good signing! One for all those who say they wont spend any money!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wikipedia says he is a Forest player. It must be true then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Biggest waste of 2 million quid ever.
Poor record of goal scoring.
Does SOD not realise how goal shy we actually are?
Apart from that pigmy Gillette. All SOD's signings had been solid up to now.
IERM

Agree0 Disagree2

He won't score 20 goals but he will make the team better.

Agree0 Disagree1

His record doesn't look great but after chatting with some baggies fans last night i think he'll be a quality signing. They said he was the best finisher in their team and always puts the effort in

Agree0 Disagree0

Give the guy a chance for gods sake,he might score 2 winning goals against the sheep

Agree0 Disagree0

He played most of his games in midfield for the baggies due to there 4-5-1 formation, I know a few baggies fans and they do rate him, they just wished he was played in his prefered postion, never moaned about it though, just got on with the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

HEY why biggest waste of 2mil
this league COX will bang as many goals this season than all our current forwards if played iin the right possition know your football and stop moaning go support someone else if your not happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe the negative comments ! We have just signed a quality player for 2m ! The best we could get last season was Harewood on a 1k a week. Good times ahead. Good manager , clever signings , Can't wait for Saturday...COYR....Newark Red

Agree0 Disagree0

Beginning to wonder whether people who post on here actually watch and understand football!
SOD is the first manager since OBE to actually assemble a balanced squad of players capable of competing in the League they are playing in.
Expect up to 4 more signings and a couple of departures before the window closes.
Happy days!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Newark red mate! Quite typical of our lot moaning but moaning before a balls kicked in anger must be a record even for us!
Notts Loyal {Ed034's Note - rather than having a go at the odd negative 'supporter', why don't we all use there comments to our a little bit more fire in our belly and sing so load, they the boys in red can only hear us positive 'supporters'???

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not being totally negative thank you.And i have as much fire in my belly about our new owners, manager and the team assembling as the best of them.My reaction was to 2 million quid for someone who will NOT get us 20 goals a season. If he does i will eat humble pie and my forest shirt.Hows that?
If as someone points out, that Cox is played in midfield, the happy days. But we definitely still need a prolific goal scorer,2 wingers and 2 more defenders, then we will be ready to rock in this division.
Good times ahead...Im smiling dont worry.
IERM

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello Ed, I Hear what your saying, but I wish people would remember how low we were before the takeover! To be able to spend 2m on a player was out of he question ! We are in dream land with the new owners ! Also why are the fans against Gillet ? Give him a chance ! If SOD rates him we should give him a chance ! Donny fans voted him their player of the year last year ! Can't wait for Saturday......Newark Red

Has anyone else seen the pic of Liam Lawrence at last nights game that's doing the rounds I have been sent it by my mate but not sure it's him it looks like him but the angle is not great it's the side of his head but the nose don't look big enough to me

Believable5 Unbelievable5

I was at the game last night sean him and there was no way that was him sorry to say but would be a good signing throw

Agree0 Disagree0

Liam lawrence at game last night when did this rumour come about {Ed034's Note - After the game

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I have a pic sent by my mate who was. "sat behind him" and was adamant it was him I can see why people say its him some I show say its def him others that it's not {Ed034's Note - The reporter from ssn, rob dorsett, says it isn't and he's a good mate of his

nottingham forest agree 2.5 million deal to sign simon cox from wba source skysports

Believable16 Unbelievable9

I've just seen its 2m. I've always rated him and I'm sure he'll do well here. Ureds

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't Know how this one's going to go down with the fans 2m for a player that's only scored 10 goals in 65 games (not what you would call prolific) seems better business for WBA than NFFC. {Ed034's Note - It should go down well with the fans and we should get 100% behind him, like we should all of our players, new or old

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually says 2 million mate

Agree0 Disagree0

We spent the same on miller and no one moaned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everybody keep refering to 10 in 65? He has been a bit part player for last 2 seasons in prem getting nothing more than minutes in games. I would have maybe preferred Rhodes but he is still unproven at Champ level. Cox is very similar to Billy Sharp and look at his record under SOD. 2 million for a player that several other clubs were after is good business so quit moaning and get behind the team. As for the persons chanting Billys name, your a disgrace and the club would be far better off without you.

Agree0 Disagree0

We spent 1.6 on miller

Him and dex =firepower coyrs!

All the fans chanting for billy to come back last night get over it he is NEVER coming back your not fans we are not even 1 game in and your acting like that way to support the team in fact I would rather we had 5k positive fans than 25 that are shouting stuff like that do us a favour and stay away in fact go and support notts ir derby we want a positive season where we get behind and SUPPORT the club from top to bottom SODs red and white army!!

Believable23 Unbelievable7

Went last night and never heard that chant, dont post rubbish {Ed034's Note - I've heard some say they heard a couple/three chant it. I've also been told by a mate that they didn't hear anything. At least we can see that we are all as one, just by reading the comments on here and twitter

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right, they don't SUPPORT the club, they just go down and moan, need to get a grip and show some faith in the players and manager, especially since we played well second half last night.

Agree0 Disagree1

Too right! The largest championship spend of 09/10 was still not enough. Cry about the chairman's commitment when you fail. Is that what we want? If so why not bring back David Pratt!

Agree0 Disagree0

Damn straight mate thats the one we need to get behind the boys in red this season were the 12th man especially at home so lets get behind SOD and the boys and watch the reds climb into the premier league :D::D

matt reddog

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right like all the others said theyre not supporters their just persons who have nothing better to do than moaning

James {Ed034's Note - Then why don't the 99.9% of fans that actually support our team, stand up and out song the 0.1% that moan???

Agree0 Disagree0

Mindless, brainless, clueless, sheep-like, stupid people chanting for Billy. Why can't you see Billy was only ever looking after himself? He was always stiring up trouble in the background. You think its just bad luck that he has not come back into management since leaving Forest? No club wants him and thats a fact.
Chunky_snowman {Ed034's Note - I don't think the argument is about whet billy did and disnt do anymore c_s, it's about giving so'd, the owners and every player our support. I'm sure you and me alive stood up singing, would out sing these morons anyway.......you reds!!!

Agree0 Disagree1

We have the makings of an excellent team give them time to gell together
Forest forever

Agree0 Disagree1

I was there last night and didn't hear that

Nkred

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a Billy chant last night, it was only a handful of persons, but i think it was more a joke thing to liven up a pretty poor game.
i wasnt in the chant

jr

Agree0 Disagree0

What we have to remember , we lost half the squad at the end of last season & more while the t/o got sorted , last night proved we are roughly where we finished last season , lacking firepower , cox , pacy winger & a fit cohen & we will be fine. my opinion on last nights game (goldie headless chicken , derbyshire never looked like ex/prem , moussi loses attacking momentum everytime by passing back ,doesnt read the game quick enough. {Ed034's Note - most people have said goldie did alright

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't want em' either!! up the county.

Agree0 Disagree0

No body bothered to give him a job says it all

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone who obviously wasn't even at the game makes up rubbish about fans shouting for Billy and everyone comes on here having a go at something that didn't take place. GROW UP! {Ed034's Note - It isn't made up, it was just a couple of idiots who had probably had here first ever pint and is not as serious as it is being made out

Agree0 Disagree0

I must admit, SOD would not have been my choice and I wanted BD back. It came as a surprise when SOD was appointed, but love him hate him agree or disagree, he IS OUR MANAGER si I will get behind him and so should everyone else.

To chant another managers name is disrespectful, negative and pathetic.

COYR

Agree0 Disagree0

I just hope the fans understand this season is not about promotion. I know the players all aspire for more, but even if we were to lose half a dozen matches on the run, I would be happy with clearing relegation comfortably, and the team starting to mold well towards the season end. Up and At Em 2013 or 14..........

Agree0 Disagree0

It was the 'Billy Davies is a Red' chant, think it was second half.

It was only by the 15-year-olds in A Block, sharing the one brain cell as always.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm very much a fan of Billy Davies and wanted him back for a second spell. When SOD was appointed I was gutted. An ordinary player, and you could argue hasn't achieved much as a manager, bar from a brand of entertaining football. However, that said, he has made some solid signings, bar last night pre season has been good. I think he is a couple of players away from having a good squad. For me I'd like to see an out and out striker to play with Dex, and a couple of pacey wingers, that can cross the ball! I wasn't an SOD fan, but can see what he's doing, and the players seem to be performing for him which they didn't under the last 2 managers. We all want to see us do well this season, so let's support him, if we end up in the bottom 3 by Christmas, I'll be the first back here to call for Billy back!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed mate.

Build and gel the team this season.

Promotion next. COYR

Agree0 Disagree0

Op here I was at the game and heard a few shouting it, yes it wasn't in their thousands but my point is not one true forest supporter should be shouting it

Agree0 Disagree0

The only person shouting billy last night was sitting shyly in a corner looking amazingly like nathen tyson infact it was him lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at the match last night, it wasn't one or two people, it was half of the A block.. But weren't singing we want our billy back or anything, they just sung one chorus of Billy Davies is a red, not really singing for him back is it

Agree0 Disagree0

What is everyone's fascination with pacey wingers? Reidy isn't pacey and he is class and remember john Robertson he wasn't fast either who needs pace when you have skill! {Ed034's Note - I think it's the fact we already have a winger like Reid and it would give us another dimension to our attack

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy may well have got us into to two playoff semi-finals, but we lost both of them. Forest did play well under Billy in parts, other times we were rubbish.

Billy is long gone and will never return.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was at the game last night never heard any chanting against SOD or anybody else for that matter also team was applauded off at the end of both halves

Latest rumours:
Cameron jerome on 6month loan
Thomas set to sign before fleeteood ga,e
Cox to sign tomorrow
Lawrence not coming
Miller being loaned to middlesborough

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Who is Thomas?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jerome thomas wba winger

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Cox to come, agreed lawrence wont come nor do we want him, as he is similar to COmmons in terms of just looking for a pay packet or elese he would have left Portsmouth first instead of one of the last. Millar definately to be let go, Freeman will go to County on loan
My biggest problem is a reserve keeper, as that piece of sh*** Darlow in goal last night was frightening

Even Mansfield in Non League have a better keeper so where can he go?
Let us hope Arabic trail Keeper is better, becuse he has to go does Darlow

I do not think Moussa has done enough, his touch at times last night except for one run was poor to say the least

Most impressive was the brief appearance of Taylor at let back, looked very relaxed and wanted to get forward. Harding, him, Cohen, Reid all working on the left in various combinations during the season will do us well
You noticed I did not mention Derbyshire, as I think he should have sat with me last nightin the stands, as a professional footballer he is has always been poor for |forest and I hope the owners decide to simply cancel his contract, as it would be better for both parties to simply move on

I will be at Fleetwood Monday for a tough game but I think whatever 11 he starts with will be simply to weather the potential high temp - storm approach they will put us through. But a good test before the real one - Bristol. One which I actually think we will win by a couple of goals. Come on you reds!!
