I think we should be targeting these players
1 rb . Byram offer 1m. Plus add ons after he's played set amount of games and proves his fitness
2 holding midfielder. Colback 1m lower his wages but over 3 year deal.
3 lb Bidwell free
4 gk Westwood free
5 creative midfielder?
6. Speedy Winger to compliment Lolley
7 forward to challenge grabbon
Some of these could be loans.
But we need to shift at least 15 off retained list.

Looking forward to the new season with optimism.

A new GK pref Westwood

Back three of Figeredo Worrall and Robinson

Byrom Yates Carvalho Cash Osborne

Lolley and Grabban

Young side with a bit of experience thrown in and no need to get the cheque book out apart from Byram.

I know I have missed out Colback but won the last three games without him. Just my opinion.

Really hope MON goes for quality over quantity this summer. Maybe 6 signings either on free or loan deals. All of whom know English football. No more Dias', Goncalves' types who don't cut it in England.

GK - Hart / Pope / someone similar from PL (loan)
RB - Byram (loan)
CB - someone like Mings (loan from PL)
CM - Colback (free agent)
W - someone like Wilson (loan deal)
ST - someone like Abraham (loan from PL)

Doesn't need big spending in terms of transfer fees. Yes, maybe some higher wage demands but if we can trim the squad and offload around a dozen players, that will go a decent way to helping with cost of strengthening the team.

Thoughts on transfer business and potential chances next season?

I know the seasons only just ended.
But which players would we all like O'Neill
To retain. We've got to shift at least 20 players on.
Theirs a few bargains to be got with players contracts ending.
ie Bidwell, Westwood Routledge ect becoming free agents.
Thoughts please.

A lot of players need shifting IMO.

Plenty of bargains, yes. Some are worth looking at, others not.

I would like us to bring in some bright, young, hungry, passionate players (Yates, Lolley,. ), unlike more past-it's (Watson, Murphy,. )

Like I do, I'll stick my neck out on who I think should leave this year, contracted or not, some of course may be loaned:

Henderson
Wright
Clough
Goncalves
Vellios
Watson
Grant
Guediora
Janko
Hefele
Dawson
Bridcutt

If this formation was to be the way forward it does feel that we’ve got the players to play it (with back up) whilst still being able to tweak it.

Wague, Milosovic, Robinson, Dawson, Figueiredo (think we should move heff and benelouan on)

Osborn, cash, Darikwa , + one (Colback could play this but doubt he will be back)

Pele & Guedioura can do the same job

Yates & yacob can do the same job, I think we’d need more cover too if colback doesn’t return.

Carvalho (we’d need some else too)

Lolley

Grabban. I don’t know enough about Soudani to comment. You could say the rest are surplus with a few additions for resilience in formation tweaks. They’d need to be different types of player though .

It would be good to see the formation win the last two to honestly assess its merits. It tells me that an observation made before (probably FF) that the good players we have are all of a similar style.

Monday may as well try :
Pants
Byram, milosovic, wague (only because we have no one else) , Robinson
Yacob
Guedioura, bridcutt
Lolly Carvalho (or Appiah)
Grabban

From the players available I think these are the best at the club .

Osborn, cash, Yates offer too little threat for me.

Sorry guys had a very senior moment hit the post button before completing.

So start again
Keep hearing on here about a big clear out but MON will be restricted as to who he can jettison prior to the new season.
As i see it the following players contract are up end of June 2019,
Pele
Bonatini
Colback
Janko
Goncalves
Ward
Wague
Henderson
Fuentes
The following year june 2020
Ansarifard
Yacob
Osborn
Murphy
Bridcutt
Robinson
Dawson
Watson
Benalouane
Guedioura
Milosevic
Steele
There is a further eleven two years after that.
With this in mind how will this restrict MON getting in the players he wants for his own style of football.
