Clark and Arthur off the board but continue to work with club (BBC East Midlands Today)

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Didn't see it but hope its true, certainly in MA's case.
Frank does not seem to have done much since he took over.
Not sure on that one but hey the guys that have took over, its their money they can do what they think is right.

U Reds

Agree1 Disagree1

"The Board" is just a name. Being a director doesn't affect anything on it's own. In fact it's usually better for an employee not to be a director as they don't then have any legal responsibilities.

I assume Pelling is staying as they legally need a qualified FD.

Agree1 Disagree0

I am afraid I dont see the value of anything Mark Arthur has done - in fact I hold him partly responsible for the fact that we werent promoted in the two years Billy did so well with us. Id like to see the back of MA {Ed034's Note - I think as ma is the only guy who speaks to us from behind the scenes, he tends to be the focal point for fans frustration. The good thing about the new owners, they clearly are not going to take any of the smelly stuff, so he is going to have to pull his weight

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark to be ambassador for forest

Agree2 Disagree0

I absolutely think it is the right thing Arthur and Clarke have been kept. Clarke especialy; what a ridiculous statement to make "he does not seem to have done much since he took over". Before he took over the club was in ruins; Doughty had withdrawn all investment and McClaren had done an excelent job of reducing the squad morale to nothing. Frank Clarke bought stability to the club at a difficult time and was instrumental in our championship survival. Having personaly met both Arthur and Clarke, I can assure you they have nothing but the clubs interest at heart. Therefore I think it is an excellent decision by the new owners, one that I think can only stregthen the club.

Agree6 Disagree0

MA is held in high regard by the FA. I think that's the reason he is being kept on by the new owners, they are not daft these guys.
I was very encouraged by what they said at the Press conference......Passionate, realistic and switched on, with money to spend but not willing to disclose how much they are willing to spend....That'll do me.

Rumour on the street is that it is going to be Roy Keane as the next manager, also reason why negotiations are taking a little longer than they hoped they are trying to bring a certain N.C. in as his number two. Player to sign to make the tri-fecta is J. Jenas who will be installed as Club and First Team Captain.
Happy Days COYR

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Not a cat in hells chance would Nigel Clough come to the mighty Forest he would always be in the shadow of his late father and his managerial record just isn't good enough!

Agree3 Disagree5

Still take Billy back, but I'd have Harry if he brought Joe Jordan with him! Now that is motivation! I can see him picking a fight with Nigel Clough right now....

Agree7 Disagree4

Like your story about keane, it was the n.c bit i like the best yer he is really going to step down as manager to be a number2 ?

Agree2 Disagree1

Nigel clough doesn't have the right coaching badges to manage any other team than derby now because the rules changed since he became manager of the sheep

Agree2 Disagree1

Why on earth would Nigel Clough leave his job as Manager to work as Roy Keanes number 2? This 'rumour' has no credibility whatsoever.

Agree3 Disagree0

No way would clough be welcome at the city ground hes a sheep now ,dont want him back

Took a look on the Dexter Blackstock page on facebook and some guy who is a police officer has posted a picture up of Louis Saha posing next to the Forest Tree.
Looks Official and like i said on his profile it says he is a police officer,so he must have got to go inside for security.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Saw it aswell mate.

Agree2 Disagree2

Have a word.....big fan of saha even back when he was at man u

Agree1 Disagree1

Bit old possibly almost as old as boateng

Agree2 Disagree1

Looks photoshopped to me... perspective aint quite right and the pixels round his head and forest logo dont look right. i could be, and wouldnt mind being wrong, but just my opinion

Agree2 Disagree0

Agreed, very photoshopped looking. Where do I begin in saying how hacked this looks. Theres a pixelation feathering around is whole body....

Agree1 Disagree1

Its definitely photoshopped without a doubt

RG09

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe the camera he was using was just an old phone or something? also it does say he is a police officer so would he lie?

Agree0 Disagree0

Photoshopping pictures aint against the law... so yes, he could well lie?

and, its saha's head on elokobi's body apprently, so its fake.

in the interview last night on forest player, the hasawis said they want a manager who is very experienced at this level. mm is the only one out of the possible ones who is. billy davies, keane and the rest are not as mick is the only one who has got 2 championship teams promoted {Ed007's Note - I have heard Alex McLeish's name being mentioned.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I'm NOT calling for him to return, BUT on what basis is Billy Davies NOT very experienced at Championship level?

Agree8 Disagree4

Billy Davies is an experienced Championship manager. Knows Forest and many of the current squad. Only reason we didn't go the final bit last time was lack of investment. Billy Davies with financial backing = Premier League. Its king Billy for me.

Agree10 Disagree6

What do people not understand about " we are talking to 4-5 people and that will start in the next day or so"?

Agree1 Disagree1

Al Hasawi Stated he was looking for the best in the business!! In what way are the managers on the bookies made up wish list the best in the business?

Agree4 Disagree1

New manager needs to be sorted quick waiting more days means less time to sign and gel a squad do u agree ed {Ed034's Note - I think every forest fan will agree with that

Agree2 Disagree1

Get bader al mutawa check his goals on youtube he could cut it in championship could be the new collymore just what we need

Agree1 Disagree1

Will the billy Davies groupies ever give it a rest? He isn't coming back! Get over it!

Agree5 Disagree4

I liked Billy but he did not like the academy !

Agree4 Disagree3

Phil Scolari... you heard it here first.

Agree2 Disagree5

What is it with most forest fans calling for 'King' Billy to return? people saying the only reason we didn't go up with him was 'lack of investment'. Correct me if i'm wrong but we spent about 6 million quid in the summer of 2009, which i would imagine was more than 90% of clubs in the division at the time. One of the reasons we didn't go up with Billy was his lack of tactical nouse when it came to the key moments - ie failing to set us up correctly against a 10 man swansea team in the first leg of the play off semi in 09-10, then starting the second leg with McGoldrick (who incidently cost 1mil+ of the a forementioned 6 million quid) and Tudgay up front, only bringing Earnie on with 12 minutes left when we needed a miracle.

wake up people - Billy Davies isn't the football genius some of you think he was. A good manager maybe but nothing amazing. Ask youself the question why he's never been given a shot with a prem club?

Agree9 Disagree4

How can you say Billy had a lack of investment when he spent close to £12,000000 in two years

Agree3 Disagree4

KING BILLY FOR ME!!

Agree6 Disagree9

Didnt keane get sunderland promoted in his first season ?

Agree5 Disagree0

If BD had been given the contract extension he was always angling after, we would have had more chance of promotion.Look what heppened at the sheep.
Looking for insurance.

Agree1 Disagree4

Roy Keane would not be good news for us or our memories of him as a player.
Also add to that, Stuart Pearce, both legends.

Agree2 Disagree0

Lets think about this play-offs 6-7 times promoted once with the derby, then sack with what was the start of the worse points in prem that season ever, yer he sounds great, keane taken over sunderland in december at the bottom won the league? same with mick with wovles lets think which sounds better manager?? no more billy talk

Agree5 Disagree3

Yes keane took over @ sunderland when they were in the bottom 3 and won the league with them the same season. Then kept them in the premier league the next year when they were one of the favourites to go back down. He quit when things went wrong and don't do a great job at Ipswich though had no money at all. I wouldn't mind keane coming in as he is an inspirational figure though the only thing about keane is that it can turn into a "me me me" show at times. If Mcleish is installed as manager I will be the most p**sed off forest fan in Ireland hands down!

Agree2 Disagree0

Redknapp took pompey up from this league and stabilised them before leaving, so he's got championship and premier form. plus they wouldn't rule out speaking to him in the PC yesterday!

Agree2 Disagree0

Reference the lengthy post about Billy Davies and his so called poor record. There are not many managers have a better record at championship level. The reason he hasn't cut it at PL level is because he isn't a very good PL Manager. Remember he received NO backing in the Jan Transfer window when teams around us were spending heavily. But his record suggests he is a good Championship manager. I stand by what I said, Billy Davies with Financial backing = Premier League.

Agree1 Disagree2

Billy was way too confrontational. It doesn't seem like that style would go down well now.also, billy scrapped the reserves and was reluctant to give the academy a chance which seems contrary to what was said in the press conf yesterday. Give it up folks

Agree4 Disagree0

As I remeber keano spent loads while at sunderland...not very wisely much of it as well as it turned out

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would consider mm iconic?

Agree1 Disagree1

I journo I follow on twitter had an interview with the owners today and asked a few very good questions.
One was about the city ground and if they plan to redevolop it, which was answer yes straight away.
Another was about whether they plan for a new stadium and they said it's in there plans (or words to that affect).
Thirdly he asked one that I asked him to ask about transfer and who has the final say. This one he asked during the broadcast press conference and the answer was the manager as the final say, but they will recommend.
The journo is called Ben Jacobs and I highly recommend listening to it.
Ed034

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Why not mm gets teams up and if he does look at a high profile manager then to take over

Agree2 Disagree2

Why didn't they answer these questions
in the press conference.Priorty team building.

Mate of a mate of a mate (sounds bad I know) works at the club and has seen some of the names linked. There are some Kuwaiti names, Guedioura, Elokobi and Higginbotham are on it...BUT the name that stood out to me was...well, Adebayo Akinfenwa.....I kid you not!! I can't believe it!

Believable3 Unbelievable10

THE BEEEEEAAAAAST THAT IS AKINFENWA

Agree7 Disagree3

Id love to have ade and big g in the same team... maybe not lacking quality but thats 2 cult heros there. and if any trouble kicks off with the sheep gunter will have 2 huge blokes to back him up ;)

Agree4 Disagree4

Hardly a Stella signing

Agree7 Disagree3

I very much doubt it

Agree4 Disagree2

I will only believe this if you can come back to me and tell me the list was on the back of a pacxket of Camel lights?
I know Fawaz likes those smooth clean low tar family favourites.

Agree2 Disagree2

Hope so. He is a TANK!!!!!!!!

Agree2 Disagree3

Load of Cobblers.

Agree7 Disagree1

Doubt it, but whats so good about that?

Agree2 Disagree2

This guy COMPLETELY destroys and obliterates his opponents!! It's rubbish though, he's L2!

Agree1 Disagree2

Yes all the information was kept in a file marked Top Secret and accidently left in the Robin Hood Suite. Thanks to your mate's mate for finding it and telling us first.

Agree1 Disagree2

The guy is 30 and never played at a good level! I'd rather have Marlon Harewood back!

Daily mail announce forest meeting with mick mccarthy on monday

Believable8 Unbelievable8

4 icons must be...Martin O'Neill. Luiz Felipe Scolari. Kevin Keegan. Rafael Benítez.

Agree3 Disagree11

Kevin keegan has retired from managerial stuff hes like a part time pundit now

Agree8 Disagree5

Didnt they say with championship excperience?

Agree7 Disagree4

Why do people want big name managers we need one that will see it through when the going gets tough not walk away with a big fat payoff

Agree4 Disagree4

Would love it to be Keegan the man is an icon the world over. The interest he would generate for the club. Loved his energy skill and work rate as a player the way his teamed played think of the knowledge he can pass on to players I mean he has won everything he was capable of winning he is a true gentleman as well.

Agree2 Disagree6

Full press conference on official forest website and its a free video so anyone can watch enjoy ! {Ed034's Note - Stupid adobe flash. I left my laptop at work and Only have my phone and iPad grrr

Agree2 Disagree1

They sey 4-5 well known managers in the football world, whit a perfect understanding of this league

Agree1 Disagree2

One of my buddies plays for wolves and is good friends with mick McCarthy who has not been contacted about the forest job.

Agree1 Disagree2

Whoever the new king is, we need to be positive and get behind him! This is a fresh start for the club and we all know how negativity can destroy success (the national team)! This season may only be mid-table but we know we are financially secure and a bright future

Agree4 Disagree1

Would love Keegan / he won everything! he dint win european cup with hamburg when we beat em

Agree4 Disagree3

Won it with liverpool

Agree2 Disagree1

If you want to watch the press conference on iPad download skyfire app - just worked for me.

anyone know where we can see the press conference in full, or even hear? Sky Sports have been a proper let down

Believable3 Unbelievable1

NFFC Website, it's free {Ed034's Note - Can you hear it through an iPad or o you need adobe flash?

Agree1 Disagree2

Bbc iplayer i think

Agree0 Disagree2

The press conference is on the BBC iplayer radio nottingham {Ed034's Note - Thanks

Agree0 Disagree2

Just watched it and im very impressed with what I heard... I think good times ahead for us all :-)

Agree4 Disagree2

Anyone know where to watch it on an iPhone? {Ed034's Note - Don't think so, unless it happens to reach YouTube ;-)

Sky Sports News - Mick McCarthy is set for talks with Nottingham Forest over the vacant manager's job on Monday.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Harry is still there no.1 man and they will get there man. Stories about managers are getting boring!

512 {Ed034's Note - Then stop posting on them

Agree5 Disagree3

Personally, I hope they're wrong because while the owners may be in for the long haul, it will be a much longer haul with Mick: if we go up, his track record says,we'll be straight down againm then up, then down. He signed about 30 players at Wolves and i bet he can't even tell you who half of them are...or where they are.EW must be able to do better than Mick: he's about as iconic as Terry the Kit Man...now, there's a thought!

Agree4 Disagree2

When he ruled himself out ages ago

Agree0 Disagree2

Either mick or harry and I for one will be a happy man that our great club will be guided back to the big time. No moaning billy, no ex england bosses to do the same job as mcclaren (shocking), no foreign speaking managers please. Harry or Mick 2 horse race.

Agree5 Disagree5

Nottingham forest announce talking to 4-5 potential managers but will not say if they have talked to Harry Redknapp about the job and denie talking to hoddle

Agree5 Disagree2

Billy will always be a fans favourite because of what he achieved in very little time and I for one would love to see the king back, however I dont think he will be back so I agree with either Harry or mad Mick I would rather go up and down then not up at all at least we get 50 million in payments :-)

Agree5 Disagree4

Billy was guilty of getting frustrated with the aquisitions panel no one else! and I think if he had have been given a bit more leway and some backing in the January window we would have been up so I for one would welcome him back

Agree8 Disagree4

Marthur is going nowhere. Can't see Billy Davies getting a look in. Forget about BD

Agree2 Disagree2

Fill in the spaces guys. Mr Al H said 4-5 ICONS who understand / know the championship & who they will be talking to over the next few days.
So: they must be free, able to start immediately & Iconic.

Is MM Iconic?
Is Billy Iconic?
Is Warnock Iconic?
Is Harry Iconic?
Is Keane Iconic?
Is Keegan Iconic?

2-3 from 6 British managers you might say are Iconic. The others are certainly not ICONS. That would include Billy, MM, Warnock & possibly Keane as NOT Iconic managers.
Harry & Keegan have great success on their CV's but will it be either of them?

i for one wouldn't like to put money on it.

I think we are in for some more surprises by the middle of next week.

The Future is Rosy Red

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd happily buy a house in Skeg for Harry if he wants to be by the seaside!

Contact has been made about loan deal for adam johnson on season loan. Has good experience at champ level {Ed034's Note - I get bored of asking, so can people please say how they know these things.....please

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Adam johnson wouldnt come to us you speek rubbish

Agree9 Disagree6

Unlikely as it is dependent upon the new manager's decision. No manager yet so no decision on players. Irrespective of whoever takes over let's hope that they sign AG.

Agree12 Disagree2

Not a chance. id love if true but the lad was close to going to the euros and liverpool were told they had to pay 20mil for him... so no is the answer {Ed034's Note -

Agree5 Disagree2

Adam will go to a prem club anyway i want adlene guedioura and george elokobi

Agree9 Disagree2

Mick our new manager doesnt get along with adlene mate {Ed034's Note - From what I gather, adlene and ebanks-Blake had a big dingdong and one had to go. I don't think it's because he and mick don't get on. The same was said about billy and camp, but was bull

Agree5 Disagree3

Ed is is right it was ebanks Blake and pep that fell out they had more midfielders than strikers so it was pep that was shipped out

Agree1 Disagree2

As a Wolves supporter you have no chance of getting Adlene if MM takes over, he played Adlene right wing, left wing, right back but never centre mid all you will sign is Irish or hard working players who have no technical ability, he may well get you out the league but thats as far as it goes, totally tactically inept.

Agree5 Disagree3

forest first signing is Fahad Al Anzi good young talent

Believable2 Unbelievable13

How do you no, every player is going to be forest's first signing

Agree6 Disagree2

I thought the Kuwait players were just coming for a month trail and its up to the new manager if they sign? {Ed034's Note - That's what was said

Agree13 Disagree2

Why do people not read/listen to facts. Any young players are coming to the academy for the new manager to look at. most of them will never be granted work permits.

Agree9 Disagree2

Yes, they will

Agree2 Disagree4

I've researched them, they will. Disagree all you want...

Agree1 Disagree1

To be honest people are just grabbing random asian football players and "linking" them with us

Think sky r showing it but not 100% sure REDMAN

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Nothing on sky yet, im watching it at the minute

Agree1 Disagree3

Its harry he,s coming

Agree2 Disagree6

Marthur going nowhere! will we ever get rid of him?

Agree7 Disagree2

Frank Clark will remain as the clubs ambassador, Mark Arthur is very important part of club. Main thrust is that passion comes before cash. 4 or 5 being interviewed for managers job, decision in days.

Agree1 Disagree2

Marthur has connections in the league therefore can be imortnat to us. But I do expect his role to cange.

Agree3 Disagree3

How can forest get any young talents or new players without a manager i dont know were you guys get this stuff from

Agree4 Disagree2

The problem here is the same as it's been for the last 12 years: Mark Arthur.
While he is at our club we will always have one eye on the Championship, the other on League 1. Marthur has run Forest on ND's behalf for years and I am still confused as to how a CEO can lose his boss a reported £12m a year and keep his job! Sorry, but if Marthur remains in a day-to-day running/decision making role with Forest we will remain a Champ/L1 club and our new owners, like ND will lose huge amounts of money. Sorry if this seems like a personal attack, it's not meant as one but the Marthurs poor track record at Forest speaks for itself.

Agree11 Disagree2

Sky sports news now guys

Agree1 Disagree1

As long as Martha's kept away from transfers and any negotiations no problems

Agree8 Disagree1

Personally think marther staying was inevitable and probably a good idea. Revolution this may be but some continuity is sensible. Even if we think marther has been a joke he will have less responsibility

you can listen on radio nottingham or follow this link and listen live online, like we do in spain. loads of forest lads excited/apprehensive over here in the sun....'arry for me boys www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham

Billy Davies as just arrived at the City Ground in a Black Bmw sat in the passenger Seat !!!!

Agree4 Disagree12

Im outside the city ground on my mobile and there is no Black Bmw why lie?

Agree8 Disagree1

Is that true or just wishfull thinking?

Agree1 Disagree4

Billy isnt coming to us the al hasawi's are still in talks with 6 potential managers nothings final yet {Ed034's Note - where did you get six from and how do you know billy isn't one of them??

Agree3 Disagree1

6 managers was confirmed to be talked to by the al hasawis in the press comference so who evr wrote the note on that statment is wrong {Ed034's Note - I thought they said 4-5

Agree3 Disagree2

Ed your right it is 4/5 "iconic" managers! Never been 6

RG09

Agree3 Disagree2

It was 4-5 not 6 silly they probably didnt know that they said 4-5

Agree2 Disagree1

Ed if you thimk someone else is wrong dont keep commenting on them no one is perfect {Ed034's Note - That is the whole point of me doing this. If you don't like to, don't come on

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Jul 2012 10:20:44
I went to a wedding reception last night at The City Ground and the rumours circulating around the catering/bar staff was that Harry Redknapp will be unvieled today as manager and Fawaz himself as new chairman. Not sure how reliable the rumour is but they seemed pretty sure!

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Somebody must be outside CG looking to see who is arriving and hopefully post on here first

Agree4 Disagree2

Fawaz will be chairman there is no dobting about this, the family bought the club aiming to run it not have someone like frank clark in place. Also I really cannot see Harry coming as when he was at spurs he still travelled everyday to london from his home in sandbanks (portsmouth area). He will be unwilling to come up north as other people have already said. Personally I'd like to see the small scot back in a job

Agree6 Disagree8

Billy coming back would be awful news if it happened. Surely we can do much better now...

Agree7 Disagree8

Geography not your strong point then,Sandbanks in Dorset(Poole) no where near Portsmouth(Hampshire)

Agree5 Disagree1

Ha ha. yeah whatever

Agree0 Disagree2

Your geography not very good either than mate, poole is about an hours trip from portsmouth mate.. i wouldnt quite say no where near! i personally just want someone who will play on the floor and bring through some academy lads.

Agree4 Disagree0

But is is South and not far from Sandbanks in Range Rover Sport

Agree2 Disagree1

Not sure if billy could do same if he came back

Agree4 Disagree5

Harry isnt coming neither is billy the potential managers are Hoddle, Mccarthy, Mcliesh but he may be out of the running and Keane {Ed034's Note - It was confirmed they havnt spoken to either hoddle, nor his advisors

Agree2 Disagree2

They confirmed they have not spoken to hoddle mcleash is ruled out, but they wouldn't answer about Harry (I doubt he is coming) but he seems more likely than at least 2 of the people you said lets face it the only one we know for sure is big mick who is confirmed to be on the short list

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Jul 2012 10:04:24
As I am not one of the chosen 100, I would like to know about the following;
How long they see themselves at forest?
What are the plans for the city ground and will fans be consulted if a new stadium is going to be built i.e location, design etc?
How involved in choosing transfer targets and who had the final say if a player is signed?
If/when we get to the prem, where do you see us competing with short term and long term?
Will you try and make football more affordable for the everyday man and family, rather than pricing then out as it is now? {Ed034's Note - This was my post btw

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I'm one of the chosen 100 and some of those questions are on my list. Especially location of a new stadium and pricing of tickets etc. I will ad the rest of yours to my list and try and get some assured answers.

RedRich {Ed034's Note - Thanks rich, you lucky sod

Agree3 Disagree1

Does anyone know how us outside fans will hear about what's going on? Will it be filmed and later released on site or news or is it all kept underwraps?

Agree2 Disagree1

Like to know of these 100 how many away matchers they have done in the last few years?

Agree2 Disagree3

It's live on Forest Player {Ed034's Note - Is it just the press conference, or is it the meet the fans one too??

Agree2 Disagree3

The OS is screening it live from 1230, you have to sign up though

Agree1 Disagree1

To whom sent ----Like to know of these 100 how many away matchers they have done in the last few years?
it dont matter how long theve been fans they have a season ticket DO you?
so hey no jealousy they got picked you didnt TOUGH

It doesn't say whether the fans' meeting will be included; I hope it is. It does say that there will be a video available shortly after.

I posted something earlier in the month that Mark Arthur would be gone by the end of July and would be on his wy to Derby to replace Tom Glick who joins Manchester City in August. Rumours now circulating amongst my contacts that he could be out already. Will be interesting to see whether he is at press conference today. Rumours are that the new owners are seriously considering the return of a former Red's legend to be new CEO. No names in frame but my money would be on someone like Tony Woodcock. Possibly the end of Frank's chairmanship also with Fawaz set to be named as Chairman during press conference this lunchtime. {Ed034's Note - It's going to be an interesting listen. Gutted Im not 1 of the 100

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Mark Arthur's Dad plays Golf with a friend of a friend, and told him yesterday that he was no longer on the Board, and that John Pelling the FD had also been 'removed'. Based upon the way in which the new owners have rolled so far, something is telling me that they have more surprises lined up for today's press conference - wouldn't be surprised to see the new Manager announced and/or new signing(s).

Agree5 Disagree2

Arthur gone. Yippee Best news yet.

Agree3 Disagree3

Mark Arthur will remain at Nottingham forest, heard it on bbc Nottingham radio.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hasawis have confirmed that he is staying with the club, but they will be taking charge as a team, there will be no Chairman.
