There is truth with the Martin O'Neil story, he is invloved with trying to find a consortium to buy Forest, with his inspiration coming from Niall Quinn.

MoN wants to run the club from top to bottom, and he is the major selling point for attractive consortiums. He is in contact with Nigel Doughty who approves of the concept, however at heart ND still does not want to sell the club.

Because ND has a foot in both camps the Chinese deal collapsed and he is quietly hopeful Frank Clark and Steve Cotteril can guide Forest to financial stability and promotion.

Due to ND's reluctance to sell (even to a consortium backing MoN) it is unlikely the club will be sold until at least another 12 months which gives FC and SC chance to improve the current situation.

If under the guidance of FC and SC we happen to gain promotion (stranger things have happened: think Blackpool and Norwich) ND will remain with the club as owner.

What might have occured 2 or 3 years ago, should not have a direct outcome on what occurs today. However MoN and JR ary very keen to do something new in football and that step is ownership. The fact they were not asked by the Leicester owners some months ago also went some way to explain why they hve chosen not to go back to manage leiceter - despite the invitation.

Due to MoN and JR not yet being able to find the right investors - ND placed the club with a London finance company to assist with any future enquires.

End of.

Blackpool & norwich had a great team spirit, a never say die attitude and more quality than us.

we've got nowt but a bunch of overpaid players, it would be a much stranger occurance this side going up than either norwich or blackpool
