Police are investigating a claim that a steward was pushed to the ground by Nottingham Forest player George Elokobi at the end of a game on Tuesday night.

Reading FC had just clinched promotion to the Premier League when the steward attempted to escort the away player off the pitch at the Madejski Stadium.

The 50-year-old reported to police he needed stitches after he was pushed to the floor causing him to bang his head.

Left-back Elokobi is currently on loan from Premier League side Wolves.

The game on Tuesday ended 1-0 to the Royals, which ensured their automatic promotion back to the top flight.

Nottingham Forest have yet to comment.BEAST!!!

Presumably after they finish investigating why George was assaulted by several thousand reading fans.

He shoves who he wants, he shoves who he waaaants, he's George Elokobi, he shoves who he wants!

If Reading help the Police in pursuing this alleged incident, then Forest shoudl report Reading to the Football League for a breach of their security undertaking. There must have 10,000 Reading fans on the pitch before the players had exited the field. Anything could have happened to them. Even the Reading players looked frightenend to death. who knows what happened but you can see a scenario where George was pushing his way through to the changing rooms and the steward simply got in the way. you don't go through the common courtesies in a situation like that.

Agree7 Disagree1

It tells you a lot about what this country has become that the police would get involved over someone being pushed over.

Agree15 Disagree1

This means all Reading fans that entered the field of play should receive life bans as advertised round the Madejski Stadium.

was it Steward Little?

Forest to be sold this week by a consortium of German and Swiss business people with the Head man being Mark Arthur!! (you heard it here first).

I am unsure of how much the deal has cost, but have the following info...

1. The academy will be named after Nigel Doughty
2. Steve Cotterill will remain as manager with SoD as his number 2.
3. Rob Kelly will have his contract terminated.
4. There is around £10m of income made available for transfers and salaries. Any money spent on salary is seen as the length of the contract, and not for year 1.

All 3 bids (yes 3 official) bids are on ice...but do not worry.

We know we'll be in the Championship next season, but all bidders are waiting for the final hurdle of the proposed financial fair play system.

The football league are voting on it this month and it will define how the club can move forward.

Mark Arthur and his team have the cash available to meet all requirements and the fous of their bid is based on academy funding.

FFP will also affect the academy; you can only invest so much money. Nigl Doughty along wih Mark Arthur and Nick Marshall were creating a plan to meet the "tier 2" status.

Arthur and Co are hoping that their pledge to see this through will help them to become succesful in becoming the new owners
