The daily mail have just put on
A story saying that fawaz is using forest to bring through middle eastern talent as they are low fees and wages. He will control transfers and sod will coach them. I've heard off various people that we will see very little in transfer activity apart from the triallists! Hope I'm wrong {Ed034's Note - I will be commenting on there page

Believable17 Unbelievable13

You lost me after "The Daily Mail".

J

Agree12 Disagree2

I protest. The daily mail is a reputable tabloid...... Although they do go tomorrow with "world will end due to inflation, immigration and global warming" which could be deemed as melodramatic at the very least. Is this the same daily mail that gives forest a square inch of coverage at very best. My mum reads it, enough said!

LCD {Ed034's Note - The daily mail is no longer the publication it was and are now on par with the mirror

Agree4 Disagree4

I have just read this on the Daily Mail for myself. I am not hitting the panic button just yet but I am firmly pressing the concerned one. Just what are the intentions of our new owners? You can see why so many 'iconic' managers steered clear of us if this is genuine.

Agree7 Disagree5

Supposing this is true (which I believe it to be utter nonsense and just the usual lazy journalism), what exactly would they seek to achieve by bringing Kuwaiti players through the club?
It seems an incredibly expensive and time consuming process just to raise the profile of a couple of Kuwaiti footballers.
Personally I think this is to help raise our profile in the Middle East, which can only be a good thing, and if they aren't good enough then they will go back. The Al Hasawis won't benefit from investing in sub-standard players and potentially getting relegated. I think they're brighter than that! As has been said before, we might even unearth a couple of gems, as happened with some of the African/Asian players some years ago. {Ed034's Note - I totally agree. Worst that can come out if this is it's a bit of publicity in the middle east

Agree8 Disagree3

It's typical of the daily mail to print something like this. it's always been a very bigoted and xenophobic paper. it feeds off its readers' fear and in turn tries to create that fear in order to sustain sales. unfortunately, a lot of people read it and believe in the rubbish printed inside. but at the end of the day, regardless of the paper itself, how would the journalist know this information? there is just know way they could know this for certain. the fact that they write the article as if it is certain indicates what they want their readers to believe. and what they want their readers to believe (that basically, football fans can't trust middle eastern business men) fits right in with their whole shtick. besides, SoD would never comply with that. i wouldn't pay any attention to it

Agree4 Disagree1

And if these unknown Middle Eastern footballers turn out to be unknown Gems & we run away with the championship will you still be complaining.
Oh ye with short memories: Remember a certain carpet fitter playing non league football who played a big part for NFFC in the past. Not sure how good he was when he was spotted but I think he finished upo playing for Manchester United. Think his name was Birtles or something like that.
Give the new owners a chance to throw some new ideas in the mix.
It is their club now to do with as they please.

BC Stand G Block Row 28

Agree5 Disagree2

Give the owners a bit of slack, they have come out and said they're with the fans so they don't want to alienate by creating a Kuwaiti conference team. The trialists will only be retained if they're any good and if they are what's the problem. Some Kuwaiti Beckham equivalents can only be good. After all they saved us a fortune by not going for a big named, big waged flop of a manager. They stuck to their brief of bringing passion back to the reds.

Agree5 Disagree1

When MM turned us down my first thought was that he already had had another, better offer. Now I am not so sure. Does anybody out there know or can find out why EXACTLY he walked away?

Agree0 Disagree2

Daily Mail reputable - it is a Tory rag - Brian would not have touched it!

Agree5 Disagree1

It could explain why the high profile managers turned us down and they had to turn to a low profile "Yes man". I'm worried about Forest. I hope I'm proved wrong.

Agree5 Disagree5

If they'd written all this BEFORE the whole world knew we'd taken on several Middle Eastern trialists I'd have given them some credit. Its like me looking in a cakeshop window and writing "Cakeshop will sell 5 cakes today!"

Agree1 Disagree1

We didn't just get Sean coz he is a yes man he was recommended by the players and coaching staff these owners are sensible give them a chance this season is about stabilising rebuilding nothing more if we get up its a bonus

Agree5 Disagree0

I see it this way, the new Kuwaiti owners know Kuwaiti Football. They have invested in an English Football club and have the chance to bring in the 'best' from their county.

That's all it is and tbh I'm don't want to know why MM walked away, maybe he just didn't get the job!

Agree7 Disagree0

I think you may be right, I also think the new owners opted for Sod as he has an eye for players, and i think he may not have such a big transfer pot as some make out!

The next few weeks will tell us all in which direction these new owners are taking us, look out for freebie signings and loans!

Agree2 Disagree0

It cost more to get SOD to us than take on an out of work MM; this is lazy journalism from a xenophobic paper which delights in lurid headlines. Ignore it, they only put it online to stop people using the paper as toilet paper. Ps Ed your typing on there was awful! {Ed034's Note - The comment i put on there website?? Not the best thing to do on my phone, after a few beers lol

Agree1 Disagree1

Every body assumes mm was offered the job, what he said was he ruled him self out of the running after his interview(might of had a stinker),any way its better for mm to let everyone believe he turned the job down as it looks better for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ithink MM didnt want the job because he didnt want to work with a director of football, time for people to calm down and stop panicking,(Pass the valium)

Agree5 Disagree0

How many of these trialists will actually get work permits to play in the first team? Answer - very very few. So we need look elsewhere to get players in shirts and very soon. {Ed034's Note - If you know that and I know that, you can bet your last pound that o'driscoll and the owners know that

Agree2 Disagree0

Who is that greysaltspain guy? he sounds like a right person! i'm not your mate ed (no offence lol) but you publish my posts. he's just a bigot. i hate fans like him {Ed034's Note - to be fair even if any of my mates posted on here, I wouldn't have a clue because I only see the comment and people's id number, which are 11 digits long. His posts are obviously poor, hence the reason they don't get on

Agree1 Disagree0

The owners said they had a 3 - 5 year plan ie. 'we aint gonna splash the cash' assumung they know something about football being expetienced owners theywill know sod knows wht he will need and will back him accordingly.give them a chance please....only been here two weeks and already had the nouse to cancel a pointless tour (no manager no squad)

Agree1 Disagree0

All the press seem to be ripping us with the appointment I wonder what they will be saying when we're playing like arsenal and climbing up the table

Agree2 Disagree0

Kuwaiti players are on higher wages than most of our squad! {Ed034's Note - where does it say this?

Agree0 Disagree0

I have just had an interesting talk with a friend of mine who goes out with a reserve player at man city,as she knows i am a reds fan she told me that we are signing stefan savic on a loan till jan.i dont think he is a decent prem player, but could be ok for champioship.also wooton is coming back for season loan.thoughts ed! {Ed034's Note - Has a good reputation.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Wooton was poor when i saw him last season

Agree8 Disagree7

The thing about wooton was he was played out of posistion most times in midfield or right back at centre back I think he would do well but would prefer lascelles this season to get championship experience

Agree5 Disagree0

Savic is out of his depth at city, might work for us though.

Nottingham Forest are believed to have enquired about Joey Barton on an initial 3 month loan deal!

Daily Mail

Good player but attitude will almost certainly be an issue, no thanks!

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Has he not got a 12 game ban anyway

Agree7 Disagree3

Do you have a link? Kind of doesn't make sense due to his lengthy ban {Ed034's Note - I read it on ssn last week I think. It says us, Wednesday and Blackburn I think are interested

Agree1 Disagree1

Rumour is Nathan dyer is in advanced talks with Nottingham Forrest .

Source swansea player {Ed034's Note - Good

Agree10 Disagree8

That's him and Djouf been linked with us. christ what sort of team do the rumour mongers want us to have wouldn't have either of them selling programmes let alone playing.

Agree3 Disagree1

Nathan Dyer will never drop a league after the season he's just had

Agree5 Disagree2

Jordan Rhodes deal to be finalised tnoz and medical Monday morning

Inside knowledge {Ed034's Note - inside from who?? Hope it's true

Agree1 Disagree6

One off his relatives that's all I'll say

The start Is here hopefully many more to follow {Ed034's Note - One of Rhodes' relatives??

Agree0 Disagree4

Well my friend knows jordan rhodes' brother, so i'll be asking her about it and we'll say whether you're right :)

Agree0 Disagree3

Has anyone done background checks on these guys ? Does anyone really know how wealthy they are ? {Ed034's Note - Yes. It has been discussed on here many times. One is worth 700m alone.

Agree1 Disagree2

3 great things about Nathan Dyer 1, The kids quick has electric pace. 2, Fantastic technique, ball control. 3,He's an awesome diver, I've lost count how many times he got dive of the week on soccer am. All that being said he'd be a great signing but it'll never happen.

Agree5 Disagree1

Joey bartons ban (as im aware) is a 12game ban from playing for qpr in prem and carling cup games therefore loaning out to championship club is an option as after qpr have played 12 games he'll be ok to play

Agree0 Disagree0

Barton would destroy the unity in the dressing room and is a poor example of a human being let alone a footballer.

Agree6 Disagree0

Rhodes maybe, Nathan Dyer? Behave!

Agree4 Disagree1

Barton? Solid player but an utter liability - nearly cost QPR their prem status on last day of season (were it not for results elsewhere). Not a good role model for kids either. Should've been a cage fighter not a footballer. No thanks.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 21:16:37
Rumours are we're interested in Justin Fletcher? Probably a bit old but incredibly versatile and can play a number of roles.

Source: Gigglebiz

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Lol. At least if he did sign, it would be easy to get my 3 year old boy to support us :) {Ed034's Note - The city ground is the only place I get away from that turnip

Agree0 Disagree1

Ha ha funny, my daughter will love that

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, you let this one through but not some of my serious ones :/ {Ed034's Note - Thought it was funny.

Agree0 Disagree2

It's hilarious. Justin fletcher!!!

Agree2 Disagree1

Who the hell is Justin fletcher somebody tell me?!!! {Ed034's Note - Kids tv presenter

Agree1 Disagree0

Mr Tumble...we signed him past season (Miller)

Agree2 Disagree0

...and his understudy, Derbyshire

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 20:57:51
The European left back who forest have been in talks with is Armand Traore.
JPT

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Where u found this mate cant find it anywhere

Agree1 Disagree0

Can't see QPR letting him go, he's there only left back!

Agree5 Disagree3

Europeans from Senegal?

Agree2 Disagree5

Hope so !

Agree2 Disagree1

Armand Troare is French

Agree2 Disagree1

Only left back???? Clint hill?

Agree4 Disagree3

They've got fabio da silva on loan from man utd as well so they might let him go

Agree4 Disagree0

Centre back mate {Ed034's Note - Plays both

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't rate him, but it would be one more left back than we currently have.

J

Agree0 Disagree0

Got taiwo as well

well the rumours about signing george friend aren't true, according to bbc sport he's signed for boro

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Forest giving bader al mutawa 1 month trial was on ssn earlier {red west}

Agree5 Disagree2

In no whatsoever does it say 'signed'. In fact it further states that they expect more bids. I just don't get some people's interpretation if info on this site!!

Agree2 Disagree1

When do prem teams have to name their 25 man squad ? {red west}

Agree1 Disagree0

The bader al mutawa thing also on o/s hope he does well looks good thoughts ed {red west} {Ed034's Note - Me too

Agree1 Disagree0

Reckon its at the end of the month 27/28th

RG09

Agree0 Disagree0

1st September

Agree0 Disagree1

(red west) new rules in premier league so any names they dont add to 25 man list will possible loans for other clubs.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely at 27 yrs of age this guy would have been snapped up by someone if he was any good. Scouts for the big clubs in Europe do not miss out on anybody.

Agree0 Disagree0

Friend has not been signed by Boro they areinterested is all same as us......wish people would read propely!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 19:28:36
Just seen on on the around the web section of the BBC that forest are intrested in Allen Hutton on loan thoughts people {Ed034's Note - Good signing and also makes the Gunter business look good

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Middlesbro have had a bid for George Friend accepted by Doncaster source BBC

Agree3 Disagree4

Bring back perch

Agree5 Disagree14

I can't see this on 'Around the Web' on't BBC website? Or anywhere else remotely legit for that matter. Just me? I do believe he has been excluded from the squad for the pre-season tour of the US.

Appears to have been ousted by some young RB they've signed from Sheff U.

Sign him up!

Agree2 Disagree1

C'mon we have two right backs, we have one centre back and no left backs. Priority needs to be defenders as we dont have long now.

Agree1 Disagree0

However we do have surplus attackers, sell them off and bring in some god damn defence. Brendan moloney is not good enough and he is our only defender now!! FFS get some money pumping through and get some players in.

Agree1 Disagree0

'Ed034's Note - Good signing and also makes the Gunter business look good'

he's on about 50 grand a week, it would cost all the gunter money to loan him for a season and then he goes back to villa.

that strikes me as the exact opposite of good business. {Ed034's Note - I can't find what he is on anywhere and who said we'd be paying his full wage??? You are just presuming

Agree0 Disagree0

Freeman plays left back for Wales.....just saying!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 19:12:06
FansFC.com says we could be interested in Alan Hutton in Loan from Villa!

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Yes please.

Heard a horrible rumour that Pep is being sought after by Norwich and Reading! Hope this isn't true! Someone find out!

RG09

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Norwich and reading are buying everybody,if you listen to there supporters that is.
surprised if no one else is interested in him though

Agree2 Disagree2

Why disagree? I said it was a rumour! If you disagree then make a comment saying its not happening

RG09

Agree0 Disagree6

A friend of mine knows John Mcgovern and he has heard this as well. It would be a blow.....

Agree2 Disagree2

Sign him quick give him whatever he asks for it will be worth it

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm starting to really hate reading {Ed034's Note - I cannot find it on any website. Has anybody else??

Agree5 Disagree1

Well, Norwich are chasing Snodgrass and McDermot is quoted as saying all his summer business is done. Feel better?

Agree4 Disagree0

Garath & Chris are bound to tell there gaffer to sign him.
We should stop messing around and sign him instantly.

Agree1 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 17:59:00
Bids have been made for Matthew briggs and george friend

Believable4 Unbelievable6

So looking at today's rumours then, we are talking to about 15 players, having another 8 on loan and already signed 6 more. Should have a squad of about 50 for the start of the season. Plenty then.

Agree4 Disagree4

George Friend, the same bloke thats in talks with Boro.

Agree2 Disagree2

Thats why they are called rumours!

Agree4 Disagree0

Matthew briggs is class doubt he would come to us

Agree2 Disagree3

21 Jul 2012 17:22:49
Wooton and Macheda to return to the UK from South Africa rather than go to China to sign season long loans with NFFC

Believable4 Unbelievable8

Not seen any evidence on any site to back this up

RG09

Agree3 Disagree1

Mechada would really shine in the champions, would be good if we can get him

Agree0 Disagree2

Well that's not true because Wooten has just tweeted he is in china

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 13:59:42
Kaspars Gorkks in talks with forest

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Now that's the first realistic signing I'd be happy with :)

Agree4 Disagree4

One little point though, he really isn't. Move on!

Agree1 Disagree0

Not a chance, played 42 times for them last season and they need his experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 13:28:41
How about this for a list of potentials:

Gallas - Spurs
Macheda - Man Utd
Wooton - Man Utd
Higginbottom - Stoke
Jenas - Spurs

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Great. Any rumours?

Agree2 Disagree2

And Pep and big George

Agree3 Disagree3

No, we would be going down if we had thm {Ed034's Note - Lol

Agree1 Disagree2

This time last week I'd have said all of them within our reach and budget. This week......... Maybe wooton

Agree1 Disagree3

Gallas - unrealistic
Macheda - possible but can see him being integrated into man uniteds team next season
Wotton - possible, would prefer st ledger
Higginbottem - yes, good commanding centre half
Jenas - injury prone, will add to the dead wood we have at the minute.

We want youth with a touch of class. Not ex prem looking to cash in with no fire in their heart for success.

JC main stand

Agree5 Disagree4

This is not a rumour its a wish list
Jenas is not coming

Agree5 Disagree1

Wooton is being given a shot with united so cant see it.

Army

Agree1 Disagree3

Id have everyone accept higginbottom tbh.

Agree1 Disagree5

Yeah they are the type of players we should be after but maybe a bit more youth

Agree0 Disagree0

Gallas,Macheda not realistic due to ages etc....others have potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance. Gallas needed by Spurs (king retired), wootton in Manu first team squad. Higgy said 1 more year in the Prem.

Agree1 Disagree2

Id have Jenas and wootton. Gallas is too injury prone, Higgs is not quick enough, and would be too costly (wages) as back up. I am in the same opinion as all other forest fans about pep, he and Cohen in the middle would be awesome. If we can get somebody like kightly, and with Reid, that midfield would be awesome. It worries me that we need a whole back 4, very little time to get a understanding. It is certainly exciting times for us though.... In Sean I trust!

Agree2 Disagree0

So it only me who thought wooton didnt have 1 desent game for forest last year. he was utter crap. dont whant him back

Agree1 Disagree1

Pep and Cohen in midfield would be bad both are the same type of player like lampard and gerrard {Ed034's Note - Completly different players

Agree0 Disagree6

Do you know bout footy kid .cohen and peps nowt like each other

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree with ed

Agree2 Disagree1

What is it with this web site.... for some reason you become addicted to reading about absolute drivvel half the time........ ed034 all you do seem to state is the blatent obvious to any one with half a football brain..... now i have recently been checking out the posts and you obviously have your group of followers. and will not post any new comers comment. really hope you dont any kind of wage for youth. {Ed034's Note - Well you can see I give everyone a chance to air the views and when I comment I say what I feel, or only put what I know. Would you rather I lied?? You've really got two choices. 1 you carry on reading the site and enjoy the light hearted posts, opinions etc or 2 you don't come on......it's over to you

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed......pointless rant and no doubt same guy from Daily Mail. Get a life is a popular phrase I gather!

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 13:14:16
I dont get what everyones problem is with middle eastern players, i'm sure they have as much quality as african, european and south american players. Just because they are from a certain area in the world doesn't mean they are bad footballers. {Ed020's Note - i think the point that was tried to be made was the quality of football in the far east is'nt up to the standard of european football, yes there is quality over there, but in comparison to what we have, it's probable below the standard everyone expects.}

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Yeah Ed's right it's the quality that you're playing against essentially, he may have an awesome goals to game ratio but it's like where I'm from Bangor City's Les Davies had one of the best scoring records in europe and was in the frame with Messi and David Villa. Problem is that Welsh Premier standard is awful.

Agree4 Disagree2

Having looked at the Youtube videos of any player mentioned as a candidate for NFFC it is quite clear that none of them are good enough. The standard is similar to Conference level at best and I would be surprised if any names mentioned so far get a regular place. They look flash in spurts, but check out the flat-footed defenders they are up against. Check out the loss of control where they don't get punished because the defenders aren't quick enough.

A 30 yard screamer looks good on Youtube but McGugu has done plenty of those in the past few years and he is not exactly flavour of the month.

Middle Eastern football is progressing but it will be another ten years before there will be talent ripe for picking. It is not there yet.

Agree6 Disagree4

Middle eats players wont last 5 mins. As for lower league players all well and good for 1 or 2 signing's but come on if we are heading back to the prem, then lets have a few decent signings - we will mid table. It all started all so positive, with sod in charge and his track record, i think we will struggle.
Alot of hot air from the owners just like at other clubs who have been taken over. SHAME.

Agree3 Disagree5

I'd go for big george, pep, higginbottom, wotton (loan),dobbie, routledge (loan) and play maloney freeman and lascelles a bit more, just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree2

I find the level of ignorance and the dismissal of these players without knowing anything about them quite offensive. It has parrallels with the introduction of black players into the football league when ignorant people questioned if they could handle the cold winters etc. The reason we have a manager is that he judges these players, the owners said as much. Some people seem to forget we are a struggling Championship side not a Premier League side. If they are good enough for this level and SOD wants them then that is good enough. Xenophobia or racism?

Agree6 Disagree3

There is a slight contradiction here against some other posts. On one hand we're saying middle eastern football is of conference standard but other posts on here have said how good mccleary was for us. Did he not come from a level BELOW the conference. Let them train and you never know we might find one gem amongst them

Agree5 Disagree0

30 yard screamers? I remember McGoldrick against Scunthorpe.

Agree0 Disagree2

Mcgugan is lazy and inconsistent, when he scores they are usually from outside the box but that's because he always shots from outside the box he has 10/15 chances and scores 1/2 in return!
Plus Bader al Mutawa was being watched by Malaga in La Liga so he can't be that bad!

RG09

Agree5 Disagree0

They are on trial thats how we find out if they are good enough not you tube nothing wrong with trying them out

Agree2 Disagree0

Are you seriously judging the potential of a player and the standard of International Football, national football by you tube?!? How utterly foolish and thank god we have proper people in charge with a real football man as Manager.

Agree4 Disagree0

Hot air.....wow a real hard core an willing to back the team and manager...not! The season has not started, the signings not made but already the judgement has started. Try the Derby page its more your scene.

Agree3 Disagree2

Yes 10-15 years ago people doubted african players would make it here, then whether far east players would. look now!

Agree3 Disagree0

We can all speculate as much as we like, SOD is the new boss now it's down to him and the owner's. So if they want middle eastern players that's down to them.

Agree2 Disagree0

I remember a certain Roy Keane playing in rubbish below standard irish leagues, but we gave him a trial and the rest is history. Players need a chance if there not up to it they won't be signed no matter what there nationality.

Agree3 Disagree0

Quick note - Kuwait beat Australia not too long ago 2-0. Quite a few European based "quality" players in that Ozzie team. A certain Mr Al Mutawa scored a great goal...

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 12:41:15
Marc Pugh from bournemouth a deffo taget, SOD wanted to sign him for Crawley

Believable2 Unbelievable10

We are in the Championship if we don`t sign a higher quality standard of player than this guy we may as well give up now. Ambition is what is needed!

Agree5 Disagree0

For Crawley in Divison 1 yes...not for Championship with players at the club who are already better than Pugh.

Agree6 Disagree0

Will someone remind me where mcleary came from i seem to recall it was bromley

Agree2 Disagree3

McGugan, Raddy, Cohen, Reid all better than Pugh we do not need attacking mids we need a winger or 2 and a decent defensive mid.

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jul 2012 12:11:33
forest in talks with former leeds ace harry kewell after he left his current club good addition if we got him {Ed020's Note - he'd be an expensive injury liability if you did sign him, i personally would'nt bother}

Believable5 Unbelievable10

Right....so you read somewhere and put 2 and 2 together. yawn. jog on

Agree4 Disagree2

He's already in talks with Blackburn and he's 33/34injury prone and not played at a good level for a while

RG09

Agree3 Disagree1

I agree with ^^... just because hes spoken out to english clubs, come get me.. doesnt mean it will be us.. i hope not... 5/6 years younger..maybe

Agree1 Disagree1

21 Jul 2012 11:42:49
Players out of contract and available..all being considered by SOD. Zak Whitbread a very good choice at CB, Gabbidon....CB but has a flaky reputation. Peter Ramage a good no nonsense defender very comfortable at right back. Paul Scharner a CB or CM....has attitude but great experience and could drive this team on. Justin Hoyte, massive experience at right back and very accomplished.

Just goes to show some quality available.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Ramage, former Toon player, are you for real? He was useless for them, always in the wrong place at the wrong time and managing a number of OG's. Does anyone know of any players yet actually expected to sign do we know?

Agree5 Disagree3

The thing is, do we need to go for out of contract players: now we have wealthy backers, why can't make bids for players who are in contract with clubs who are skint (ie, most clubs). Do we really need to only go for the peas that Birds Eye rejected: what about setting our sights a bit higher from now on?

Agree2 Disagree4

Out of contract does not mean bad and I say again Ramage left Newcastle 4 years ago and had a decent career with QPR and spells at Palace and Birmingham on loan. Keep up!

Agree1 Disagree0

I still think that we should be targetting players that club's want to keep not those that they are prepared to let go. there will be exceptions of course (like PepAnd George for instance) where club's have too large a playing staff, but - unless you are Forest - you tend to hang on to your best players and keep them on a contract.

Agree0 Disagree1

21 Jul 2012 11:22:23
A little bit of transfer gossip, I got from talking to Steve Chettle on Thursday

Mcgoo on his way to Leeds (1m), the Buzz man to replace from QPR, George Friend is definately on his way from Donny for 1.25m, Zac Whitbread also being spoken to (free) however there is prem interest in his signature.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Not sure about Chettle but good call. McGugan not a million but good riddance. Friend will be more like 250,000 as short time left on contract and Doncaster desperate to off load wages. Whitbread would be a very good signing....can be a regular here something he desperately wants.Ball playing CB right for SOD.

Agree4 Disagree1

Bulls***, mcgugan won't leave but im not sure about friend

Agree5 Disagree3

Yeah they run all potential signings through chet

Agree2 Disagree2

I thought general gossip runs through all work places ? chettle should have heard things and is well respected at the club.

21 Jul 2012 10:58:19
Expect SOD to ask Boro about Stephen McManus an experienced old school centre half but still only 29. Former Celtic captain he would be a great addition..... possible deal involving Miller. Also expect George Friend who has interested Boro as a left back but who SOD converted to centre back at Doncaster.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

21 Jul 2012 09:04:14
Friends dad is an Academy Coach at forest (Russ Lovatt) and he says that we are looking to bring Coppel across from Crawley in a DOF role an also sign Crawley centre half Kyle Mcfadzean, we have also had a £200,000 bid for Kyle Benne tt at Doncaster turned down. Kelvin Wilson and Curtis Davies are two other defensi ve targets!

I really hope we can aspire to better player rumours than all these recent ones. Worse than ever!

Agree7 Disagree2

Surely we need to buy players that have had championship experience firstly before buying lower league players... {Ed034's Note - We have that. I would like to see a 3/4 players that have played higher (Higs, pep, Eli, routledge), a couple of hungry up and coming lower league players (Rhodes is in this bracket as has yet to play higher),a couple of surprise foreign players (trialists maybe) and a couple of up and coming players in the brink of the top five in the prem (rose, Wooton).

Agree8 Disagree2

Saw mcfazden at alfreton and bits of him at Crawley look a great prospect can play center half or center mid be a good signing I think. .dartred.

Agree4 Disagree1

Dartred are you from dartford ?

Agree0 Disagree5

I am all for prospects and giving the kids a go...but I feel that at this moment this should be a secondary concern. The time it took to sell the club and appoint a new manager means we are way behind the other teams as far as bulding a team goes. I think we need guys who can come straight in and play, otherwise we could be playing catch-up all season. Once we are organised then we can introduce prospects and the kids.

Agree4 Disagree0

Curtis Davies will go to Norwich for 4 million and we won't be spending those amounts on 1 player.

Agree4 Disagree3

No mate nottingham nickname is dart.

Agree0 Disagree1

Birmingham need money and Norwich have cooled on Davies. However he will not be coming to us. No better than Whitbread and he is free!

Ex Bolton left back Paul Robinson has been training with Forest since Monday with a view to a permanent move.

Source - One of the starting 11 last season who has obviously training with him so this is 100% true and verified.

Would be a good signing in terms of experience and apparently he's impressing so expect to see him in a Forest shirt next season.

COYR {Ed034's Note - Left back.....what's one of them?? I've heard they used to exist but I thought it was just a myth like the loch ness monster

Believable16 Unbelievable5

No thanks the man is a thug

Agree10 Disagree5

My brother is a west brom fan and he said paul robinson would do a very good job for forest, good prem experiance as well...good leader aswell poss captain

Agree6 Disagree6

He has been with Forest since before SC was sacked actually......he will be kept around in case signings do not come in on time but he is not a first choice for Sean.

Sod is a big fan of dobbie, he is planning a £2million bid for him. He would fit in to the system sod would play. I would love to see this come off.

Believable10 Unbelievable8

Nah,his first choice is Celtic who are heavily interested in him and he wants to play in the CL.

Agree0 Disagree1

We. already have an abundance of midfielders on trial and possibly Pep, good player thou no doubt! We need to concentrate on getting defenders, we have no 2,3,4,5,6,7 in the squad! After Camp is Derbyshire at 8!

2 mill is way to much for Dobbie...

Agree8 Disagree5

Dobbie is a SOD type of player but not at that price.

Agree3 Disagree3

S'OD will bid 2m and a sock.

morning fellow reds word up north is we are close to signing carlos bocanegra and dont shoot the messanger but also close to bringing kelvin wilson back

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Love 2 c wilson back in a red shirt

Agree8 Disagree12

Is he on strike again and looking for a move?

Agree8 Disagree2

Remember 2 season's ago when Wilson spat dummy out and refused to play.? It wasn't good enough for him then so screw him.

Agree6 Disagree0

Wilson is a selfish person who went on strike when we needed him most. Selfish and not a team player, will not fit in new team ethos.

Agree6 Disagree0

Actually, billy davies froze him out. he wasn't allowed in or around either the ground or the training ground. the only communication he had with the players was outside of the club, via text or at the gym. sad but true

Agree6 Disagree3

BD reacted to Wilson not trying in games or training because he did not want to get injured.

Agree2 Disagree3

Wilson didn't strike. he was frozen out because he had already agreed to move to celtic, so for 6 months we didnt play him. he'd already agreed to go, i worked with a girl that 'knew' him... ey up ;)

Agree1 Disagree1

Dont want wilson, he will get booed badly {Ed034's Note - He wouldn't by me
