First signings will be Carlos vela from arsenal and giovani dos santos from spurs. Heard this over a week ago from the horses mouth..........not red rum either!

Believable6 Unbelievable10

I posted the rumour of Dos Santos coming in Jan, i really hope this is true.

Agree1 Disagree9

We'll see

Agree4 Disagree0

Why would they come?

Agree2 Disagree1

He is going to sevilla

Agree2 Disagree0

Today's BBC gossip page says dos Santos is going to either Sevilla or Ath Madrid. Would be nice if he came to Forest though!

Agree1 Disagree4

Harry Redknapp and Mick McCarthy are in the running to take over as manager. It is my understanding that the new owners want a manager who has experienced promotion in the past. They will be looking to bring in loan players initially, although a reasonable kitty will be made available for the new manager. The issue being we will be approaching the start of the season by the time the sale is complete and the new manager has been installed. I work at NFFC and although this has all been speculation so far, this info was from a reliable source. Believe it if you will. One thing is for sure, promotion will be coming in the next couple of seasons, one way or another.

Agree2 Disagree7

More than likely going to be mad Mick. Harry got huge compo from spurs, he's loaded and don't need any cash anytime soon

Agree3 Disagree2

They can both get bent. I hope our new overlords have got more imagination than that pair. Redknapp was on something like 5m a year at spurs.

Give cotterill some money and let him get on with it. We have a good core already.

Agree6 Disagree3

Do you think they would bring in Scoleri? Or what are our chances of landing Martin O'Neill as manager? He would be alot of fans first choice - I know he has only recently been appointed Sunderland manager, but you never know - perhaps he is the big surprise - or is it just wishful thinking? {Ed034's Note - It is just wishful thinking I'm afraid

Agree0 Disagree2

If we got mick mccarthy i would be a happy man
one he is a good manager and two he is hilarious

Agree2 Disagree2

He plays negative football and does not like creativity...ask Guerdiola!

Agree1 Disagree2

I would love mick for his humour alone. Havent had some dry humour since Colin.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mick Mccarthy? really? just look at Wolves and the players he thought weren't good enough, enough said!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2012 22:41:27
According to a forest fan agent we will hear about 2 managers the owners have in mind, over the weekend in the papers, both with champ exp and at elast one of which may come as a surprise, sounded positive. Also said the owners had 'big plans' and it would be a fresh start for everyone indicating an overhaul at board level too. Excting times ahead COYR

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Yes and one of them is Darren Ferguson

Agree2 Disagree5

Roy keane anyone?

Agree3 Disagree6

Not bothered about either.

Agree5 Disagree0

Don't want Keane or Ferguson not good enough for this club got to go for someone with a bigger profile that would be able to bring in good players.

Agree7 Disagree0

"Roy keane anyone?"
God I hope not.

Agree6 Disagree0

Please stop the arrogance. We will become disliked as a club quickly with the "not good enough" attitude. The new owners will want whatever they want and as fans we have no say. I for 1 am happy that it looks like we have something to look forwards to but whoever we choose does not mean we will get promoted etc. Many have tried and few have succeeded with money. As for those bringing in Harry Redknapp, never been north of Watford gap and has a few skeletons in the closet. I for 1 would love to see us back a younger manager with a desire to play great football. Karl Robinson is 1 that has a huge future. Nobody new a great deal about Lambert or Rodgers did they?

Agree5 Disagree2

The hasawi family will only know big named managers because let's be honest, is someone like Mick McCarthy or Malky McKay going to get any recognition over in Kuwait? So, they will either stick with cotterill for a season to learnt the English game or bring in a top manager as a statement of intent, but Sven didn't work for leicester, scary thing is, Steve kean has probably got a higher profile in kuwait than most managers because of India!

Agree2 Disagree0

Keep things in perspective. Leicester spent big and didn't get anywhere.

Agree4 Disagree0

Billy would be a surpise!

Agree2 Disagree2

I'd love it to be Harry Redknapp but a more realistic target Gus Poyet?

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we should go for a big name manager like McClaren who will bring in big signings we can all get excited about like Miller, Derbyshire, Greening and Boateng.....oh wait! Has everybody forgotten the disaster that was last summer and the season that followed after that start? STICK WITH COTTERILL!

Agree4 Disagree0

Stick with cotterill he did a good job last season and clearly wheelie dealed well! He understands the squad where it needs strengthening and which players he can sign to do the job! I also believe that spending huge ammounts of money in one season doesnt normally bring success! Look at fester and it took man city 5 or 6 seasons before they won anything! 4mil a season and we we get up in the next 2 or 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Big Phil Scolari will link up with the family again

Believable8 Unbelievable8

Forest fan too!

Agree6 Disagree3

Hope so

Agree3 Disagree5

We need someone proven in this league imo. Apprently 2 in mind for the new owners with champs exp

Agree3 Disagree3

He is a contact of Mr Al Hasawi, wouldn't surprise me

Agree4 Disagree2

Scholari was a Brian Clough fan. Not necessarily a Forest fan. I don't care who is manager as long as it isn't Schteve, Megson or Platt. I just hope they are given a chance to do what they want and are supported by the owners.

Agree5 Disagree2

No, the quote from scolari was that he liked clough's forest side... so if that makes him a clough 'fan', it also makes him a forest 'fan'

Agree6 Disagree2

He is a Forest fan!

Agree5 Disagree3

Let me do it - i am a forest fan

After doing a lot of digging I'll start my rumours.
1. The hasawi group is huge
2. Members of the group sit on various boards and are shareholders in numerous ventures, the 700m quoted is just an estimate on their own companies, not the others they are involved in
3. They are likely, If not already, to get all the contracts for the Qatari world cup regarding air conditioning, this includes stadia, hotels, airports, malls etc due to their expertise, monopoly and location
4. There is a marital link to the Saudi royal family

These guys are not in it to make a fast buck because getting promotion and selling for a £50m profit probably won't excite them that much. I think we may just become an expensive hobby but I for one am going to absolutely love it.

Look at the Shard, these boys are taking over, they're the only ones with the cash!!!

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Now i'm feeling the same as Mr Pye...

Agree4 Disagree1

I'd love this to happen....

What i want to know is wayyy back when the fawaz rumor came out and he said he was buying a championship club, he also stated he was in negotiations with neil warnok to be the gaffer, now has that changed or are we gna have him in as manager ?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We dont want warnock and how do mccleary chambers and anderson feel now you reds {Ed034's Note - Well mcleary is in the prem, do I'm guessing alright. I think chambers feels stupid because of his 'I'm used to challenging' comment and then going to Ipswich

Agree4 Disagree1

He's manager of leeds so no you're not gonna have him

Agree0 Disagree4

Please take him, remember he was in charge of Leeds on that night (7-3 remember), after takeover at Leeds the new owners may want their own man in charge. {Ed034's note oh what a night......

Agree0 Disagree1

We don't want Warnock? I do, McCarthy would be decent too. Want someone with a proven record in this league.

Agree2 Disagree3

Harry Redkapp

Agree3 Disagree4

Mccarthy? never

Agree5 Disagree2

Leave SC give him a chance

Agree4 Disagree0

Chambers is a boy...he is chasing headlines. He will never achieve anything under PJ at Ipswich. They do not have the resources or the manager. Good riddance, we can look at far better and I expect Higginbotham and Wootton back.

Agree0 Disagree0

All these texts about this manager coming that manager maybe whats the betting on cotterill keeping his job till christmas

Tweeted around 7pm on 29/6 by the new owner
translated by google.

"After the Board of Directors Club Nottingham Forest in their announcement I can assure that we are about to complete the negotiations with the representatives of the owners.

We are currently in the final stages of the process of investigating the financial and legal matters. And assure everyone that we will do the impossible to keep the club in his best form

This announcement will be the last until we sign the final and God the Source of strength"

Believable6 Unbelievable1

We can officially announce that we are in the final stages of completing the Nottingham Forest acquisition deal. We wish to bring the club back to where it belongs in the top division. Together we can bring the glory days back #NFFC

Agree5 Disagree1

Only 1 person can mess this up now marthur do u agree ed {Ed034's Note - No because it's got nothing to do with him

Agree2 Disagree2

Well I hope their intentions are good and we don't become another Portsmouth

Agree4 Disagree1

I hope marthur has nothing to do with Forest in the future either. Apparently he almost bankrupt Notts CC and looking at how much was being lost at Forest the huge of ND cash 'lost' could be down to his poor advice. He was running the club for 10 years remember.

Agree2 Disagree0

MA will be a distant memory.....

psycho to make an emotional return once the take over is completed. He is to be given a 20m war chest. Warnock will not be coming. He don"t like forest from previous spats. you heard it here first. Trusted source. coyr! happy days.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Warnock may not be coming but you are wrong that he dont like us, hes always spoke of us in a good light, probably when he used to nip across the bridge for a cuppa with Sir Brian during his clownty days. Completely wrong with Psycho too.

Agree5 Disagree2

Pearce won't be coming.Legend but not proven as a manager.and 3 times that amount will be available.

Agree5 Disagree7

Mmmm, i feel we are going to see billy back within two months or some premier name manager, lets sit tight and see this club get the boost it needs. oh just seen on sky rob earnshaw in talks with cardiff about his contract he may be a return.

Agree3 Disagree6

Bring back king billy

Agree8 Disagree7

Can we please drop Billy? Please? And you're wrong about Warnock not liking us, according to Johno he's always wanted to manage us. However, it is Johno.

Agree4 Disagree2

With the family buying forest, they must have a fair bit of cash to splash (assumption) so with all due respect, I doubt they will get rid of cotterill because they need time to learn the English game and see which managers are decent, if they do appoint new manager, it'll probably be somebody with no link to forest but a name known in Kuwait

Agree1 Disagree2

Mick McCarthy will be installed as new manager.

Agree2 Disagree4

I hope not, I've got a 3D telly and his nose will terrrify the dogs!

Agree5 Disagree0

Guys: please look at the bigger picture.
IF, note IF we were to ascend to the dizzy heights of Prem & even beyond, do any of you really think Warnock, Billy D or Cotterill would be capable on the world stage.
Personally: I dont.
If this whole thing goes through, we need a proven manager with vision & who will not mind a couple of seasons in the championship with the hope of better things to come.

Just think fester last season & the money they spent on "Promotion"
It certainly feels like exciting times ahead but we need a team to play their way out of the championship with a world class manager.
Or we do as certain other clubs have done & get a good championship manager like Billy or Warnock, get promoted & then sack them.
Not a good idea IMO.

We need a Brian Clough incarnate to get us out of Championship & be capable of maintaining the momentum in the higher ranks.
Easy really

Agree0 Disagree2

We may need one.But there will never be another BRIAN CLOUGH

Agree7 Disagree0

What a crock of s.... There will be no massive investment, there will be a ground up investment in the club and its youth policy. There will be players bought in on loans..but good quality players... and perhaps the purchase of Guerdiola, Higginbotham, Cunningham and Wootton. These people are proper business people. They know it is too late to make big changes now. they will give SC until January when money will be spent but they will NOT throw masses of cash around...they believe in growth. SC will bring back those who served him well on loan and can fit straight into team...he knows this is his chance. He will off load the crap, get in a couple of exciting additions and give it a real go. {Ed034's Note - If you read up n how they did at there former club, they spent spent spent. Please do not come on here stating you know things, having a go at other posters, when in fact you are presuming and know nothing. You may have agreed with me on one post, but I am fed up with people having a dig at others on here, just because they have a different view. If it carries on, posts will just be deleted

James Henry Cross ( Sports Agent ) believes deal 99.9% done or the family wouldn't have been named.

29 Jun 2012 18:18:37
I know it's exciting news, and yes I have to admit I am excited too.

But the takeover isn't completed yet, it's close but not done yet, we've just got to keep everything crossed and hope it gets completed in, touch wood, a few days. CL football? Maybe that's too much of an ask. Yet. We'll have to wait and see what the al-Hasawi's aims are, which we'll see in due course according to the letter on the OS.

But just a warning, we're not out of the dark tunnel just yet, but the light is growing.

Dare to dream?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

If it goes ahead what sort of transfer fund would we be looking at ed {Ed034's Note - Havnt got a clue mate until they take over.

Agree1 Disagree3

Let's hope it's not a half-arsed hobby for them, like Leicester or Derby's owners. {Ed034's Note - I don't think that is the case or either club

Sport 360 website says deal expected to be completed in about two weeks. Only fly in the ointment in the official statement is where it says senior management are helping with the deal. Does this mean Marthur ?!?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Sports 360 are very unreliable, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Agree3 Disagree1

MA will almost certainly be kept on. Perhaps not as CEO and perhaps not permanently, but certainly in some capacity. New owners will need someone who knows the club and the league. MA's also influential at the FL and FA. All those things make him quite valuable.

Same goes for FC I'd have thought.

Full transcript on Forest site: The Board of Directors of Nottingham Forest can confirm that the estate of Nigel Doughty has granted an exclusive period of negotiation to Messrs. Fawaz, Abdulaziz & Omar Al-Hasawi over the potential purchase of the club.

Advisors on behalf of the Al-Hasawi family are conducting the usual buyer's due diligence, assisted by the estate and senior management at the football club.

At this time we ask fans to ignore all media speculation and we will update supporters as soon as there is anything material to report.

In the meantime, the renewal period for season tickets remains extended until such time as there is certainty with regard to the ownership of the club.

The Board of Nottingham Forest would like to thank supporters for their patience and understanding at this difficult time.

The Board will not be making any further comment at this time.

More important let's hope they know what their doing. NO Mclown type appointment please however billy back with a decent

There is talk of a statement coming out about an exclusivity deal with one party #nffc but lawyers involved so may still take some time

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Has anybody else heard of a take over proposal by a consortium led by Mark Arthur? This would be disastrous for NFFC and would secure our demise from the football league for sure! {Ed034's Note - The only place that has ever been mentioned was on sites like this and probably by none forest supportes. I'd be extremely surprised if it was the case

Agree2 Disagree2

No not heard anything about this, but agree it would be a disaster. My Dad mentioned Arthur nearly sent Trent Bridge bankrupt before he joined forest. Not good news if this is true.

Believable12 Unbelievable21

Agree5 Disagree6

When HR was at pompey, he was on 70k pw, he didn't go to spurs for less than that, he also thinks that Stevenage is a northern town. Just some of the reasons why this will never happen

Agent 279

Agree5 Disagree6

It looks like leeds are closer then us to a takeover according to the BBC and looks like a middle eastern takeover aswell, so looks like bad news for us forest fans

Agree4 Disagree8

Wouldn't supprise me if the middle eastern takeover at Leeds is fawaz, one thing is for certain of something doesn't happen soon I don't rate our chances next season

Agree5 Disagree2

Forest are in a more desperate situation than Leeds or Watford yet they have near enough been taken over, our club must be in such a mess

Neil warnock will not be approached by forest, this is news made up from a paper which made the rumour up after realising that fawaz had no intention in buying Leeds,
Frank Clark and all current non playing staff will be kept in place.the new owner will be prepared to pay off contracts to high earners to allow forest to bring fresh blood in without hindering the ffp regulations coming in place

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Hope not. Great opportunity to get rid of Cotterill & his clowns. Useless manager and not good enough for Forest. End of.

Agree6 Disagree11

Very much doubt that as that would just be saying were prepared to stay in this division, people seem to be forgetting that FFP isn't punishable for the next 3 years its being phased in, hence why clubs are going to throw the kitchen sink at promotion

Agree3 Disagree3

I'm not Cotterills biggest fan, however I am willing to give him a seasons chance if some new owners finally arrive and give him a bit of spending money. I am also a firm believer that the Mclaren coaching clan need to clear off and take their clipboard with them.

Agree6 Disagree3

If it wasn't for Cotterill and his (clowns) as you so nicely put it we would be playing league 1 football this coming season. I think he did well with what he had been given. Show some respect.

Agree6 Disagree3

You mean if not for SOD we would be back in league 1

Agree2 Disagree5

Cotterill wasn't the one who saved Forest - if he hadn't had O'Driscoll, we would be playing 1st div football this year. He doesn't have a clue! hoofball is all he knows - their fortunes only changed after O'Driscoll changed the method of play (passing game). He needs to go. Can't you remember the horror of the threat of relegation - everyone chanting for 'Billy Davies' who didn't have money to spend either, but still managed to have us challenging for promotion? 'shoes off for Billy back'??? Rose coloured spectacles springs to mind. {Ed034's Note - Rubbish. SC is the manager and the buck stops with him. So if he gets slated for playing poor, he should get praise for when we play well. I take it you watch every training session before SOD arrived and then every one after, or how else can you make this statement?? I am not saying SOD didn't help, but tactics, players, bringing in SOD, loans etc were down to SC and he deserves praise for keeping us up, in very difficult circumstances

Agree3 Disagree3

Actually I put our survival down to S o'd since the improvement only really began after his arrival. God help us now he's gone with just clotterill left in charge. {Ed034's Note - Didn't his arrival coincide with the arrival of loan players??

Agree3 Disagree2

Well said Ed

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed - the buck might stop with him, SC, but by a massive coincidence!, Forest's form changed significantly after O'Driscoll arrived and his arrival might have been down to Cotterill, but all I am saying is, without OD, we probably would have continued on a downward slope. What do you think will happen now OD has gone if Cottrell isn't replaced? Cottrell did nothing for his previous team either - they were languishing at the wrong end of the table. I didn't watch every training session, or every one after - but the improvement in form after OD arrived couldn't have just been a coincidence. Yes SD deserves praise for bringing OD in and for the loan players, but it still doesn't make him a good manager. {Ed034's Note - disagree

Agree1 Disagree2

Agree with the Ed for a change. Such small minded gutter talk is just wanting to sound like the other morons. SC dragged us through last season...he rejuvenated McCleary, he bought in O'Driscoll and the loan players. He ran the management team that collectively kept us up. He will stay in place at least until January because those with brains, including the new owners...can see it is too late to disrupt things at this stage.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have gained understanding fahwaz has bid for both leedsand nottingham forest. He has bids for both, my source says although has passion for both teams he favoured leeds origanally as one club city, but is losing interest through bates greed and complecations in leeds financial history. He has been given sole interest in leeds as they have announced but this is only due to leeds having no other interested parties. Fahwaz is now looking go finalize forest at better deal and will also look to take warnock. Ciry ground to have named changed to enable money to be supplied thru sponsership as thru fairplay forest arnt gona be ableto spend loads as not making money. Leeds are only one of few in league making profit. In short fahwaz is after one of the 2 bu is swaying to forest due to leeds messing him around. Do we want to be 2nd choice?

Believable2 Unbelievable11

I can see a few people being mightily disappointed in a few weeks when it turns out there were no arabs involved at all.

Agree5 Disagree5

If fawaz wasn't involved why did forest bother to put out a statement of ' no comment'. Why not say 'there is no truth in this rumour and forest are still seeking a buyer' this was the only rumour to which forest gave any kind of response.

Agree5 Disagree0

And no money

Agree0 Disagree3

I agree with above, just got a feeling that it’s going to be a consortium of local business men and not a wealthy individual. Not saying that’s a bad thing but may not be as exciting as we all hope.

Agree2 Disagree0

Spot on, the ONE and only thing the media have said is that they don't believe this Fawaz chap is involved. Yet because of a rumour started on twitter and some cheap/lazy journalism everyone thinks its him. {Ed034's Note - the majority of media are saying it is Fawaz

The sale of forest will be concluded tomorrow, fawaz will be the owner and it will be announced early next week to the public,an update will be placed on the os to confirm the club are now only concentrating on one party, the squad I believe will be informed by Sunday.
Also luke chambers will sign for Ipswich on weds,he feels as though it's time to move on,Anderson is joining hull.
Gunter wil join villa providing they stump up 3.5 mill, the club don't wish to sell as he is the only contracted defender and regarded as the best at that level.
Time for transition and negotiations with clubs will start as soon as seymore give the green light!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Everyone seems to forget we have the liker of Freeman and Lascelles when they go on about lack of defenders

Agree2 Disagree2

Probably the same people who were moaning about them not being used last season.

Lascelles going spurs, freeman yeah but not tested at this level,so I think a lack of defenders is a fair comment

Agree1 Disagree1

The only truth in that statement was that forest will be putting something on the os to say one party has been given exclusivity.. Everything else in that statement is an opinion from there on after

Agree0 Disagree0

If lascelles does go, part of the deal would be that he gets loaned back to us for a season. Hopefully.

Lascelles going to Spurs...proof!?! Freeman good enough, Moloney...
Chambers no loss and soured relationship with fans last season. Far better options available.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lascelles to Spurs? You still believe that?
