Adam Le Fondre set for city ground talks about a 500k move.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

How do u know

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheap striker I can see it

Agree0 Disagree0

He's in London to tie up the deal with Watford. FACT

Agree0 Disagree0

Sven stated he was interested on the radio last night so you may as well give up on this one

Agree0 Disagree0

Said we should have gone for him 8 weeks ago when nobody else was interested. That is the type of player we have to target now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some more bull sh;t on this site again

Agree0 Disagree0

We aint go no money idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

Who you calling an person pratt of course we have money

Agree0 Disagree0

We have plenty of money, just the owners don't use it. :P

Despite his recent interviews regarding Financial Fair Play, Nottingham Forest chairman Nigel Doughty is considering renaming the City Ground to the Vue Entertainment Stadium.

As Vue Entertainment falls under Doughty's portfolio, he will not fall foul of the Financial Fair Play rules if he agrees to sponsor the stadium in this way. Manchester City recently did the same when renaming their ground to the Etihad Stadium.
The deal will be worth £10m per year to the club.

Believable6 Unbelievable15

Yep that's the way around it will definatelty happen and I have heard the main stand will be called the city ground stand

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope not :L

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't be allowed trading standards would have you for implying entertainment would occur.... Love the optimism lads

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll still sing 'City Ground' as loud as I can though before every home game. :P

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of tosh, they wont even give the old stands a lick of paint

Agree0 Disagree0

What are we gunna sing b4 games? Oh vue entertainment stadium, oh mist rolling in from the trent It's not gunna happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Great idea.Midweek drive in movies displayed on the new video screen

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was true, it'd be great - we'd all know it was a dodgy deal to bolster our cause and would obviously still call it the City Ground; can't imagine ND would mind Probably not going to happen, though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh but man city named their stadium after their shirt sponsor, so where did, vue entertainment stadium come in, surely it must be, victor chandler stadium

What a load of bollocks Doughty has said to in the NEP today. "a left back is not a priority and this posistion is hard to fill as only 1 in 9 of the population is left footed"
Get a grip man if you dont want bring in players then dont treat the fans like idiots

Believable5 Unbelievable14

Haha doughty is secret derby fan. I seriously wish he'd sell up

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, you should really apply for a job in the tabloids as you have a gift for misquoting

Lets get it straight, he actually said:

"But I think we are focusing on wide midfield players at the moment. It is really a question for Steve, but left-backs are the most difficult position to fill in football. One in nine of the population are left-footed. But we have a number of people who can play there.

So, how is this treating fans like idiots, exactly?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you listen to the interview he says its not the managers main priority,

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason we are not looking for a left back is because SMc doesnt think we should spend what little budget he has left on a position he feels we have covered with the players we have, and would prefer a winger and CF. It has absolutely nothing to do with ND.

Agree0 Disagree0

''dont treat the fans like idiots'
if the shoe fits.......

Agree0 Disagree0

This is another post from someone who probably didn't get an education. The sad thing is our club have lots of people like this who say they are fans. It really is embarasing for the club and for the majority of Forest fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bang on the money An accurate opinion at last....

Agree0 Disagree0

It just shows how much doughty knows about football

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said all you people praising nd get a life no idea

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess doughty doesnt realise that a football team isnt just 11 players, we need a bigger squad than last season, not a smaller one, you know for injury cover / suspensions etc etc.....
i can see S Mc walking out before xmas

Agree0 Disagree0

So lets get this right then , the so called forest fan experts are in agreemnet with ND that we dont need a left back and we have loads of cover. Lynch - not a bad defender but has a nose bleed when he gets past the half way line, Gunter a waste there as he is a far better right back, Choen a waste as he is a driver in the midfield that we need. This has been our weak point for 2 seasons and you dont need to be a football genius like some people think they are who post on this site to know we need a left back

Agree0 Disagree0

got it from a good source ie one of the coaching staff that we will be getting swp on a season long loan

Believable9 Unbelievable19

Steve Whealer-Preston, yea, he had a cracking season for Ilkeston Town U-19s.

Why don't we just buy him though?

Agree0 Disagree0

If by swp is shaun wright phillips bolton have bid for him.. tell your 'good' source to make up rumours for a different clubs page

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would a player of his calibre come too Forest when he can choose premeir football

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope you are right (wright) but I'd bet Premiership team will come in for him. Weren't Bolton linked at one point?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hows swp

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, we could need a new midfielder...

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah and we are also getting Milner, Lescott and Johnson..........come back with a decent remour

Agree0 Disagree0

Should never have let him go florist

someone upload the latest chris cohen interview on playing left back on to youtube please
i think everyone would benefit from hearing about the situation from a potential left back

Believable13 Unbelievable4

It's just been uploaded on to Facebook from the official sites Facebook page.

Doughty is saying he is happy with the squad. he may be happy but we are not. what is he on about we have no left back and no good strikers

Believable7 Unbelievable8

It's not that we don't have any good strikers, I rate Garner and Tudgay they will score goals but their not 20 goals a season, McGoldrick is decent and has a good work rate, one more striker will do but I can't see Doughty bringing one in

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Robbie Findley will be good, and when Blackstock is back they will make a good pairing. But we need more than 2 good forwards indeed

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if you are not happy then I suggest you dig deep into your pockets and make a donation to the club. Sure as houses the club isn't going to pay silly money. Are you?

Agree0 Disagree0

It doesn't matter if he's happy or not, he's not the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 14:29:41
According to 2days nep the chaiman has said forest r still in the market for players with a winger and striker top prioritys REDMAN

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Saying one thing and doing another are two different things

Never going to happen...........unless they are loans

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 14:14:48
I'm getting annoyed now lack of transfers all we spent it £600,000 where is that going to get us? Robbie Findley looks good doubt he can get 20 plus noone has seen him play fully yet so don't jump on the band wagon. We're not going anywhere if we don't spend. Period.

Believable4 Unbelievable8

You mean full stop?

Agree0 Disagree0

You talk about only spending 600k, but have you considered the kind of wages Greening, Boateng and Greening are on. Doubt they are on less than 12k a week. Not just about upfront fees you know.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're right about the period, it seems to be yours

Agree0 Disagree0

This is real life you know. You're not playing footie manger now you know.
Maybe if we get to Xmas and were not doing well we can just turn it off without saving?? Tool.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 14:04:02
So with the seasan fast appoching, where do people think the reds will be in may? Redman

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Third behind west ham and ipswich

Agree0 Disagree0

Mid table if we're lucky with injuries, in serious trouble if we aren't.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mid table at best, trying to avoid relegation if we are not lucky, sorry I am a red at heart but my head is telling me different, Paul Hart days all over again....

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see us in the play off chase this season, too many strong teams in this division. ill go for 8th

Agree0 Disagree0

Above derby thats all what matters

Agree0 Disagree0

Already posted mid table no chance of anything better I'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

With no further signings we'll probably finish around 12th - hopefully still above the Sheep.

Agree0 Disagree0

In the top six it's gonna be so close maybe top two

Agree0 Disagree0

Somewhere between 6th and 10th injuries depending

Agree0 Disagree0

Defo top 6

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys.............keep the faith. We are better than U think. Dont go into the season thinking mid table.
Aim high & allow a bit for slippage............dont aim low......COYR...KEEP THE FAITH

Agree0 Disagree0

NOTTINGHAM??

Agree0 Disagree0

All the dead wood is gone which was holding us back. We have a lot more experience to guide the kids. Plenty of time left before the transfer window closes. Start believing, it's top two for Forest.

Agree0 Disagree0

A team of your history should not even be in this mediocre league...... You have won that European cup you know

Agree0 Disagree0

Top ten if we're really lucky, just below mid table if not, if we have a bad run with injuries / suspensions & i think we might be looking at a relegation battle......

Agree0 Disagree0

Champions

Agree0 Disagree0

Relegation battle, bottom half?? you cant be real reds we have just as stron a team as last season and one before with the newcomers easily as good or better than the players out and even findley as a replacement for earnie would be a good one. so we have a much stronger midfield and if cohen dropping into left back so we have the same or stronger defence.. then the forwards garner and findley are pretty much new signings with dexter back after xmas so even our attacking is the same or greater than last season. we are lacking a few cover players but we have youths coming through that with the training they will recieve from our great manager and coaching staff will be perfect cover. YOU REDS

Agree0 Disagree0

This whole championship is far too tight. Sven has spent money at Leicester but I'm not convinced by them, West Ham aren't great unless they get Barton, So who else is better than us? Cardiff, and Blackpool have far weaker squads than last year. There are always a few suprise packages in the championship though, my tip this year is Ipswich and Burnley

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 13:41:50
Doughty is no good for NFFC, we have had 12 long years under his owner ship and seen this club not progress because of his lack of judgement.

We will never reach the premiership whilst this man runs the club.........end off

Oh hail the saviour

Believable12 Unbelievable9

Yeah, boot him out and replace him with Ridsdale or Mandaric......Happy days

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry to say this but you're a bit of a twit.

ND has put millions of his own cash into this club and no, we aint been in the Prem, but at least we are stable and moving in the right direction.

ND isnt Roman Abramovich. Remember that.

These new rules are not an excuse but a very valid explanation as to what has been going on.

You are obviously one of these 'fans' who think we have a divine right to be in the prem but it doesnt work like that mate. Get into the real world and some perspective.

We're not a big club but we are lucky we have someone like ND who is taking care of us and not in it for a quick buck. At least our club still has its soul.

Why not try getting behind the team? Positivity can do wonderful things...

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes. The chance he missed when Tyson squared it to him in the first half against Swansea was unforgiveable. And the one he missed 2nd half. And why did he drill that free kick against the bar and then go and hit the post. And why didn't he give those handballs

Agree0 Disagree0

Wot aload of rubbish........

so wots happened the last 2 seasons when every1 thought we were going to be promoted ur a joke mate........

Agree0 Disagree0

FFP will kill NFFC anyway. If we don't go up this season, we will never will. Next year, we will be shedding players and signing none. An over supply of players being released from all clubs will see the 3 divisions of the FL become closer in standard, as good players will not be able to sign for Champ clubs. Either that or they will go abroad. Also, the gap between the Champ and the Prem will widen. Oh and by the way, we will never get rid of Doughty because he will never get his money back, and no one will ever want to buy the club either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know exactly how much of his own money he has actually put in? This is money he has made himself.
You may not be happy with the amount he is putting in, but to say he is not good for the club is very shortsighted.

If you are not happy with the amount he is putting into the club, why not buy it off him and put your own in???

Agree0 Disagree0

Like to see the original post person put millions of his money in to a football club.
this is a business, not a who can splash the most cash competition man get up to date with economics bro

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with the original post. doughty takes more out than he puts in. open your eyes you buffoons. the club generates lots cash from ticket sales, programmes, merchandise, sponsorships and tv money so how do you explain that doughty puts 8m a year in? are we paying mcgoldrick 50K a week perhaps? stop listening to doughty and do the maths

Agree0 Disagree0

ND has put 60m of his own money into our club, this is a gift & not a loan.......he is fan of over 30 years, without his money we would be in the s**t. I'm frustrated as the next fan about the lack of signings but need to be able to afford the players & not upset the rest of the squad off with silly wages. The new players are better than what has left us....but we do need a good quality forward someone like Billy Sharp would suit us......some of the names on this rumour site make me laugh....come on & get behind the lads & stop bitching.....if you don't like it toodle off & support fester....Newark RED

Agree0 Disagree0

You are an idiot. Doughty has nearly got us to the prem from league one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe we sold around 12500 season tickets. Times that be an average of 400.00 a season ticket. That equates to 5 million pounds, add sponsorship and tv money would take income up to 8 million.

Work out the running costs based on 15 players on 5,000.00 a week, over the year that only would come to 3.6 million pounds.

Nearly half you income on 15 players, that is not including the other 10 in the 25 man squad. Then there is the manager, assistant manager, all the other first team staff. The reserves, the academy and all the other staff at Nottingham Forest Football Club, that would swallow up the other half.

That is just ball park figures, as I have no idea what the true running costs of Nottingham Forest Football Club is.

We do have a top manager, who is probably on at least 25,000.00 a week, so we do have money, but we cannot pay silly money, then silly wages for players.

Leicester have not purchased a single player that I would have purchased, we could get better players in on loan.

Accept the status quo, Nigel Doughty is the chairman, it is his train set and he can do what ever he likes. It is also his money. I would not invest a single penny in NFFC, because half the fans do nothing but moan.

Back the club or go away

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 'do the maths' poster:

mate, i think you might need an abacus or a calculator if you can handle it.

we dont generate anywhere near the amount needed to run the club on a day to day basis, hence ND making up the shortfall and this is why the financial fair play rules are such a massive blow to us, as it will limit the amount ND can put in to cover the shortfall.

we dont have a massive attendance and tv money is paltry compared to prem tv cash. you are being really cynical and you need to look at the big picture with fresh eyes my friend.

ND hasnt taken a penny from the club, simple reason is that he cant every time his soft loans come up to be paid, he pushes back the date another 3 years - he has done this since day one.

you have to stop this conspiracy theory rubbish. the season starts on saturday. lets unite and support our lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sick of hearing whinging Reds. Either stump up 50m yourself or pass off down the 52 mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please go and support County and take all of the other muppets with you. Your moaning and complaints have no substance whatsoever. People like you are NOT Forest fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot talk crap oh hes put his own money in so what thats what owners do get him out well said

Agree0 Disagree0

Reply to the person who thinks I require a calulator. I was not attempting to give a maths lesson, I was using players wages as an example to illustrate that we do not cover the basic costs of running the club.

I fully back ND and the way in which he is running the club. So I think you need to read my post with extra care, then comment accordingly.

I back the club all the way and cannot stand the whinging that goes. My season ticket was the price of two double glased windows, for my five month old baby boy. I have a right to make a comment and your comments on ability to handle a calculator, are not necessary.

Agree0 Disagree0

leicester and west ham are the only teams who have brought a lot of players in this season, the rest are in the same boat as us bringing in 1 or 2 new faces. leicester are a completely different team and i expect there to be a lot of fall outs and problems amongst the squad and staff.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Well not really cos thay havent let 9 players and staff go like our board has

Agree0 Disagree0

TOTALLY TOTALLY AGREE

Sorry for the caps...

Agree0 Disagree0

They have released and sold more players than they have brought in actually

Agree0 Disagree0

Fester are going boom or bust. They will be in deep s**t if they don't get promoted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even cash troubled brum have brought seven players in, ipswich have brought 6 in.. so what you talking bout?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but look at the quality of the players they are bringing in....ipswich for example Jay emmanuel thomas was bad last season for cardiff, he is lazy, michael chopra... his career as a striker is over....lee bowyer....well its lee bowyer
i would rather bring in quality proven players and stick with our squad than bring in any tom person and harry

Agree0 Disagree0

Our players from last season are the best in this league. All dead wood gone. A couple more players from the Premiership after the 25 man squads are announced and watch Forest fly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loving it, best players in league, all deadwood gone..... Yet your all moaning fester are stealing all our targets..... Put two and two together it's clear we will struggle

Agree0 Disagree0

What fester have got is average players.i would not swap greening reid for danns and who ever.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cardiff have made 9 signings, Derby 8..............

It's not just WHU and the bin robbers

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay well it's now clear that ND doesn't want to invest millions in the years running up to when the financial fair play regulations come in to play and yeah that's fair enough cause we have a good squad that's good enough to get in to the play-offs this year with the additions we've had this summer. BUT I genuinely think that we the fans and to some extent SMC have been decieved by ND and MA and I just don't think that's right. If ND came out and said at the beginning of the transfer window that limited funds would be available and we would only be going after quality free transfers we'd say hey fair enough, if the money isn't there then what can you do seeing as ND is pretty much the sole benifactor of the club. But for MA to assure us that money was available for SMC to spend has just proven to be a lie.

For those who like camping outside the City Ground, get there around 1.30pm today. Probably not a signing, but there is an unexpected photocall involving Steve Maclaren.

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Just got back and nothing happened

Agree0 Disagree0

It's now 2.30pm and still waiting Get a life and go back to wool pulling.

Agree0 Disagree0

What will steve mclaren do? dress as robin hood and steal the money from the "horny sven" at leicester?

Agree0 Disagree0

It was for the team photo, hardly unexpected

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you'll find members of the press are still there.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it him leaving after resigning ?

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw nothing and was there picking up the new shirt in fact it was very quiet

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 12:26:50
Definitely seems to be confirmed that there will be little or no more spending - SSN have an article about us getting ready for "new spending rules" - this doesn't seem like good news.
Source: SSN

Believable8 Unbelievable4

This is all very well if we are all playing by the same rules - which we're not.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have had it its all down hill from now on untill we get big invesrment into the club nothing is going to change

Agree0 Disagree0

For me the most telling thing about the FFP and ND's observation that we need to prepare for it is the implict assumption by ND that Forest will still be in the Championship when it starts We have been waiting since the start of the transfer window for Forest to make a 'statement of intent' ...perhaps ND has just given us that statement

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 12:14:00
If you are wondering why Forest seem to be one of the only clubs talking about FFP, it's because we are one of the worst affected.

Despite what BD might have said, he was backed by one of the most expensive squads in the Championship. Our squads wages actually exceed the clubs income. We can only cover this thanks to NDs generousity on the loans he does not expect to receive back.
However, this will not be possible going forward.

When FFP is introduced, the wage limit for your squad is expected to be set at 60% of total income. Therefore, NFFC need to make major reductions in the wage bill. They are going through the process more gradually now, than getting it forced on us at the end of next season.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Better this way than chopping a large number of key players next year

Agree0 Disagree0

How come the FFP doesn't appear to be affecting teams like Leicester? Probably because with their ambition they know they'll be in the Prem next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

He does not expect to get his money back, get real he will get it all back when he sells the club he will see to that

Agree0 Disagree0

But this rule still affects prem teams they were talking about it last year on football focus

Agree0 Disagree0

What a loqad of rubbish, Doughty has jumped on this band wagon to use it as a poor excuse for the lack of signings.........end of

Oh hail the saviour

Agree0 Disagree0

As it doesn't come into affect until next year, Leicester are going all out for promotion. The thing is we all know how difficult it is to get promotion out of this league and I would actually love to see them not go up, just so I can see just how badly it will affect them

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's all bash Doughty He got his fingers burned big style under Platt and ever since has been prudent about his management of the club as a whole. To say he isn't backing managers is inaccurate and almost irresponsible to suggest. Billy got a significant investment 2 summers ago (yes ok he didn't get as many extras as we'd like but the financial state of the club is kept inside the boardroom) he also got the training facilities for the first team he requested; Leicester are taking a major risk - perhaps they are hoping to suffer the administration cuts again if it doesn't come off For one I would rather see a secure and stable club able to progress rather than one that has to collapse in Leeds fashion when the significant changes hit football in the future. For those comparing the prem - they have a much higher income due to tv income so their salaries can exceed the championship's. Look at it in terms of a business and not through the rose tinted spectacles that we are all guilty of wearing from time to time and you will realise that although ND is now working on a secure football club and not the major high risk strategy some are calling for. Our squad is strong and, with a few loan signings, will be a force to challenge for promotion. Keep the faith and COME ON YOU REDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Teams like Leicester? That was Cardiff last year and did they get promoted?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he will get it back when he sells the club, but he cannot take it out until then.

Without his money we will not be joint third favourites to go up with the bookies.

----------------------------------------------

If Leicester go up, they will have a bigger income and there for the amount they can pay on wages will go up. So to basically say they will be in the same situation whether they get promoted or not is wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Eric Barnes was at the helm for the David Platt era. Doughty did not take full control until 2001. At that point we were losing 110,000.00 pounds a week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi i think we need more seats

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of BLX how comes the likes od dierby and fester West ham etc etc are paying ridiculous wages ? and yet we cant get players because we pay S***TE wages ? biggest spenders do me a favour 60000 in 2 years is not the biggest spenders with a wage cap to boot ?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2011 12:05:43
To hear everybody on here it feels like Wesley Verhoek is a biblical figure (a non proven player in english football) I was more upset when we missed out on Routledge.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

02 Aug 2011 12:00:01
Same thing every year, we announce our interest in a player and then don't sign them. This is obviously the board trying to trick is all. they say they want a player but then wait for him to sign for another club and then give us the crap time after time( we tried our best etc) doughty out now we need to start protesting. oh and to all those disilusional fans out there please dint comment this with the doughty is a saviour crap when he's blatantly not
Martman

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Protest? Against your own team? Your a joke Yes we all are frustrated that we haven't got the signings we all wanted bit we still have a very strong squad. We have had 2 solid previous season all be it missing out in the play offs both times but this season hasn't even started yet and your getting all negative. Let the results and the performances decide on whether we actually needed all those signing we were chasing and not your narrow mind I for one will be at the city ground on Saturday cheering on forest whether we make any signings or not It's called being a true fan. We are strong enough to push again this season. Reds till I die

Agree0 Disagree0

Who do you want in his postion then? lets pretend you know what you on about and could run the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Protest and go into Administration, effectively the end NFFC, league one would look like an attractive prospect if doughty went. I can't get over how thick a lot of forest fans are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, lets all get our pitchforks and torches out and go down there and have us a hanging.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martman just go find a new team people like you are a waste of space

Agree0 Disagree0

You are all blind doughty is a con merchant. all he does is take from the club. not a chance in hell he puts 8m a year in. where do ticket sales go? sponsorships? programme sales? merchandise sales? Tv money? open your eyes you blind blind people. he is rinsing us dry

Agree0 Disagree0

Our board is a joke. its blaitantly obvious that when SM took charge and was promised financial backing it was to get as many season tickets sold as possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Tje guy that said your blind and doughty a con man you are an person and no nothing so bog off and go watch another team you disgust me

Agree0 Disagree0

Martman why don't you stick 60 mil in and run the club then or would you rather us be taken Over by someone like Munto finance like our "friends" over the Trent??

Agree0 Disagree0

So which players have we missed out on to fellow Championship contenders (Leicester aside, who have way more money than we do)?
Fact is, no-one wants to come to us if the Premier League beckons; it's not down to MA / ND or anyone else - I'm not happy at the lack of a proper left-back, wingers or classy striker, but if Verhoek was a genuine target and he goes to the Prem, what on earth's the problem?
We offer what we can afford, he stalls until a Prem league club like Fulham comes in. Hardly our fault - it's like Routledge, we allegedly offered him better deal but he wanted to be in the top flight.

if we get to the prem we may be increasing the stadium to 37,000 capacity

Believable11 Unbelievable5

True read it myself

Agree0 Disagree0

That's great news we should stay at the CG the old girl has history and character. Although I was looking forward to having the 3 interchangeable pitches

OldJom

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no chance forest will ever make the prem while ever doughty owns the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a very big IF

Agree0 Disagree0

It'd be great if we culd get planning permission and add a tier to the main stand

Agree0 Disagree0

We can barely fill it atm

Agree0 Disagree0

Should make it smaller as we are going down to the 1st the way things are not happening

DON'T NEED A LEFT BACK
IT'S A SHAMBLES AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES. FOR PITY'S SAKE DOUGHTY, SELL THE CLUB TO SOMEBODY WITH AMBITION.

Agree0 Disagree0

Freeman is actually very good and cohen isnt half bad either at LB

Agree0 Disagree0

What we need is a 20 a season striker.because the strikers here now wont get us um .im hopping findley does it but is not proven yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

So who would you prefer at left back? Freeman, Cohen or Shorey?

Fulham have launched a bid for ADO Den Haag winger Wesley Verhoek.

The 24-year-old is being chased by most of Holland's top clubs, but he would rather move abroad which has seen both Nottingham Forest and Rangers make approaches.

However, Fulham are now ready to take the lead in the race to sign him and have lodged a bid with the Eredivisie side for his services.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

That's just frickin great. I actually had my hopes up for a long while on this one, so long as we stumped up the asking price and wages and Rangers got knocked out of champs league I thought he would be ours. Fulham ain't daft and Wesley will prefer Premier League to Championship, bye bye Wesley - I will miss what we never had

Agree0 Disagree0

What a surprise Well done Forest, your normal plan of trailing a player for weeks on end and waiting till somebody else snaps him up has worked again. Useless absolutely useless.

I have given up hope on Nigel Doughty and the board to be honest. Yes they are keeping finances stable but has he realised we let 9plaayers leave on free transfers last season? Hmm i will be happy with three signings more. However i dont believe they will be Weskey Verhoek or Tim Matavz, most likely being the free signing of Anthony Gardner and possibly a loan signing.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

OUT : Tyson, Adebola, McKenna, Earnshaw, Wilson.

IN: Greening, Boateng, Reid. (Gardner)

So we lost 5 players actually. Wilson didnt play a part and Adebola was a bit part player. Tyson has been replaced (winger) Reid. We have 2 replacements for Earnshaw in Garner and Findley.
And another 2 players in to replace Mckenna in Greening and Boateng.
Lastly its also looking likely that gardner will replace Wilson.

I really dont understand why all you boring, armchair supporters get your ideas from.. The squad we have is far stronger this season minus a left back which will inevitably be signed when a player is identified by the manager.

Its not ND, MA or SMC that are embarrassing its fans that post completely uneducated thoughtless comments like the one i find myself replying to.

Back the club.

Totally agree

Here Here to that............consider the contributions of Tys & Ade over 2 seasons. ?

Unbelievable

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said mate. Don't know why you have given the poster the benefit of a reply especially as he has posted it on the rumours page. Surely this is banter.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guy above, he's right because Rodney and Bennett also.

Agree0 Disagree0

I second the, some of our supporters are really dim, I just wish they'd be more patient not to mention grateful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Back the club? back the club in what?

what do yo think the club is trying to achieve? it certainly is not aiming to be competitive in the coming season.

the club lied to us about being interested in maynard to sell more season tickets and do you think they were ever serious about routledge or verhoek?

we clearly and obviously are not equipped for the season. promotion is a pipe dream and we're going down with one or two injuries to key players.

doughty obviously misses league one so much he's deliberately taking us back there

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the first reply and also all the players we have lost were extra baggage and not worth keeping and we have added better players to our squad this season minus a left back so surely we have the potential to do better. our squad hasn't got any worse because we have kept all of our key players and they have not suddenly got worse so we have every chance of promotion we almost did it last year with a weaker squad

Agree0 Disagree0

"the club lied to us about being interested in maynard"

Im sorry but this is a prime example of why some fans shouldnt be aloud to read newspapers and trawl the internet.

The club never once said "we are trying to sign N. Maynard"

Its laughable..

If Forest offer players 3/4 yr contracts and commit to spending that amount we will be in big trouble. Financial fair play isnt an excuse, its coming. If our losses are too much (12m last season) the club could eventually get charges/fines 1 for every 1 they lose over the allowed limit. In addition to this there will be a transfer embargo Nigel Doughty is a very clever business man and is a fantastic chairman. No other chairman/owner is the league spends what he spends.

I wish people would give the management a break they do a good job in a hard business.

Dont forget Clubs know Forest have money and try to milk us for all we have.

Finally I missed out Bennett - who didnt play for us either. So my point still stands.

This squad is stronger than last year.
Think yourself rather than believing everything you read in the papers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would also like to add.

The reason I felt the need to reply was because im passionate about my football club and unlike others i dont just see the negatives i see the positives too.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person whom wrote the first comment, actually we did. (Bennett, Earnshaw, Adebola, McKenna, Tyson, Wilson, Rodney, Byrne) Okay maybe it was 8 not 9 however we need players, our squad was small last season......its even smaller this season. ARMCHAIR supporter........well hey ho i am a season ticket holder......great one kiddo :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow. How many games did Wilson, Bennett, Rodney and Byrne actually play? Combined 15 maybe..

So FIRST TEAM PLAYERS we've lost 4 infact.

People need to chill lol.

Were still gonna finish above D**by.

Were not gonna go and get relegated.

Chances are we will go up.

ND Just left the Ramada Grantham, he has been in a meeting with, Charles Harrison from Canadian Sports Venture (google) he has been with a team of his own plus their team, according to the girl who has been waiting on them they seem to be talking about investments. Not selling, on more then one occasion the purchase of the CG has been on the skide show, including the option that Nottingham Council want ND to buy it to release funding to the council, and reference to purchasing ALL the houses behind the Bridgeford End..any ideas {Ed007's Note - The waitress is wasted in her current job if she sussed all that out. Karen Brady better watch out.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

He was at the cricket all day yesterday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blimey, if all that was discussed, guess it was over more than a cup of tea. Didn't they notice the waitress pull up a chair or did she have the table bugged? Be good if it were true though and our council would sell their grannies teeth fillings before she'd died so that part might be accurate.

Agree0 Disagree0

ND has a meeting with the Leader of City Council next Thursday and CG purchase is the main agenda item. I did post something a while back, but the rumours going around the council was that a sale of the club was likely as well. I will try and get some more info, got a meeting with the Leader myself on Thursday this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

ND is on holiday for 2 weeks source ND

Why would they be meeting in Grantham? EMA does not do flights to Canada

I play cricket with Mark Arthur at flintham and was chatting about whats happening on the signings front, he said that van aanholt isnt as good as everyone makes him out to be, so bertrand would be the only one they'd take from Chelsea if the chance arose, and with regards to a striker, apparently they've sounded out Aston Villa about nathan delfouneso on loan along with fabian delph

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Dont be silly

Agree0 Disagree0

And you probably will not be playing cricket with him much longer.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah I reckon there could potentially be some truth in it, what with the links with the villa board from the osbourne loan deal etc. Be good if it came off, delfonsou looks decent, big and quick
