ED could you shed any light on strikers that Forest are interested in? as it looks like Leicester are willing to pay ridiculous amounts for average players (mills and Maynard) {Ed016's Note - There is interest in Maynard but like you said they want ridiculous money other targets are being kept firmly under wraps}

I have read more than once that forest have signed Tim Matavz from FC Gronigen, maybe good, maybe bad cuz I've never heard of him, after a quick check on wiki it says he's scored 64 in 153 career apps (1 goal every 2.3 games) maybe a good signing.. If true

UUUU REDS
in mac we trust

Believable19 Unbelievable4

Very decent player seen him a couple of times if thats the case looks a possitive player and maynard can go to leicester oh by the way leicester stop trying to poach

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Sven has no imagination so he needs to copy Forest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see how, Matavz played today in a friendly for FC groningen

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't have to be under contract to play a friendly

Ed by now you know me? my name is cath and i post on here telling you what i know. for personal reasons i can not tell you my position at the club or my future may be looking bleak. what i can tell you is this. this morning a contract was drawn up for wayne Routledge on a three year rolling contract. News will not be revealed until monday as the Nottingham evening post has to take the pics, and wayne has to give his Interview for the press. Seeing as it is the weekend and a few people who deal with this are not back at work until monday it only made sense we waited. Giles Barnes will also be offered a contract of 2 years. Giles is intrested but still has to wait for his agent to sign a few papers. It looks very unlikely that forest will be signing Nicky Maynard in this transfer window, but may persue him either in January or Next summer depending on the clubs position ? Now from what i can gather Mr Steve McClaren has spoken to two players from Abroad who are due at the city ground this monday, Do not not their names only their positions ( Center Midfield ) and ( Left wing back ). As soon as i know more i shall post to you ED: take care for now Cath.

Believable8 Unbelievable12

I'd say this a reliable peice of info

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems far fetched to me this is forest were talking about here

Agree0 Disagree0

Well guys monday come we will see or is cathy telling porkies i well be back monday to see

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say this is another load of cobblers

Agree0 Disagree0

I say i believe cath.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really wish very hard shes not telling porkies...so want this to be true

Agree0 Disagree0

As the second replier said, too far fetched. Forest are not as straight forward as this...

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people who cant reveal thier name should not be trusted

Agree0 Disagree0

Cath, hope your right, but this is Forest we are talking about

MArthur and his puppeteer will let us believe anything is possible, i will believe it when i see it in the press and on the OS..

Agree0 Disagree0

Trust cathy she is not wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

If Cath wants to remain anonymous then why give her first name? Absolute rubbish no contract would be drawn up on a Saturday.

sheep are saying that we are set to sign bailey and barker from them and another 4 players before forest leave for portugal

Believable3 Unbelievable17

Hope not

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we were in for Barker originally and were glad to have lost out once he started playing like that for the Sheep

Agree0 Disagree0

Bailey is rubbish imo, Barker used to be good but is now rubbish too. No thanks Derby...

Agree0 Disagree0

Barker is quality, probs 1 of Derby's best players, he's been playing with injuries end of last season I believe.

Agree0 Disagree0

No thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Barker would be good for us, he'd improve just by having better players around him. I doubt he would be able to get into our team at the minute unless Steve does what many managers have seemingly been scared to ...... he'll have to drop Big Wes - he's been food for us but he's cost us quiet a few goals the last few years

ED can you tell me if forest are going to make a move for tshabalala and whats the latest on barnes and routledge would like to know because like all us forest fans its getting beyond a joke now {Ed016's Note - No nearer to a deal yet for Tshabalala but there has been contact Routledge is most likely to be completed by Monday}

Believable15 Unbelievable3

09 Jul 2011 15:05:45

To the people that write comments like this...

*

Come on Forest pull your finger out or it will be a repeat of the Paul Hart days again, League 1 here we come...

*

Shut up We're not going back to League 1, and if you say that you're more a Derby fan than a Forest fan. Why would McClaren join a club that won't pull their finger out and we're not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice?

Honestly, some people on here don't have two brain cells to run together...

Believable24 Unbelievable6

Not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice? Havnt we failed to invest in the January transfer window in two consecutive seasons which was one of the main reasons for our downfall in the play offs.

McClaren wouldnt know what happens behind the scenes until he joins. If it carries on like this dont expect him to be around at the start of next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut up mate We may have failed to invest but we've still made the playoffs twice, and correct me if I'm mistaken but I don't think the playoffs is to decide who else goes down. its to decide who else goes up. So we are hardly struggling, have faith In Steve I trust

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve is not the problem at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, steve isn't the problem it is the senior management who seem to have massive problems securing deals, as per the last few transfer windows.

Yes, we made the playoffs twice and that is no mean feat but that is in the past and the concern now is the fact we are 8 players short with 4 weeks to go til KO. I think that warrants a bit of 'moaning'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whenever we do sign a player the manager gets the credit, whenever we don't the board get the blame.

Dig a little deeper: "the board" last summer had the likes of scott sinclair and henry lansbury lined up. "The Manager" turned them down. Make of that what you will.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on no one wants to go back to the days when Donut undermined Harty, but Donut and Marthur have got form for being well err crap sometimes.

Forest are much bigger than the current Board, only wish the board realised that. Pull your fingers out Board back McClaren with money and quality and numbers, and we will back you all the way...dont ..and us loyal fans will bray for your blood.

Agree0 Disagree0

To that replier, shut up

McClaren wouldn't join a club that wouldn't be buying people or with no money

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with the Mcclaren comment

And Thanks for the info from the original poster

Agree0 Disagree0

Parr is not signing for Forest, he ll go elsewhere at the end of the norwegian season.

Giles Barnes will not be flying out to Portugal with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, very sad to say he has been offered a trial by Leeds United, which he's accepted. He could still sign for Forest though, i suppose it will be down to wages offered in the end.

Believable13 Unbelievable15

No, you're BSing.

Agree0 Disagree0

As i posted yesterday-why do we(forest)take so long tying up deals when other teams jump in and push us out , lets face it, if barnes was serious about us he would of signed by now, another playing using us until a better offer comes along and who can blame them when we dither for so long

Agree0 Disagree0

Source?

Agree0 Disagree0

So itll be forest then as Bates only deals in grasshopper wings

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry can't tell you my source mate, i would never get anymore info if i did, you will see i'm telling the truth on monday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barnes wont be signing for Leeds unless they unload a few as they cant afford Lonergan from PNE

dont belive all the hype about who Forest are signing. The truth is that there is no money in the transfer kitty to purchase new players, hence why Billy davies was sacked because he was angered by the lack of ambition shown by Nigel Doughty. Steve Maclaren has been given strict orders to search the leagues for free transfers and loanees. Nigel Doughty is basically SKINT and plans to sell the club later in the year. There WILL be NO INVESTMENT this season.

Source: I work for the club, I am a lifelong supporter and I am angered by the way supporters are treated by the heirachy. I will give the good supporters of this club as much information as possible. {Ed014's Note - What a load of rubbish. Don't Derby or Leicester fans have their own rumour sites?}

Believable10 Unbelievable22

They have just bid 2mill for roultadge, stop lying and go bother someone else, try getting a girlfriend or a hobby, something to stop you just annoying people.

Agree0 Disagree0

Muppet, BD was sacked because of constant digs at the board causing disharmony in the club. our board (although frustrating) are making sure we have a sensible transfer and wage structure. all these other clubs are gambling and if tht backfires there gna do wht alot of clubs are doin. selling best players cheap and slipping dwn leagues

Agree0 Disagree0

God and you work for them glad you're not my mate pr

Agree0 Disagree0

SM has confirmed Forest are bidding for players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why have we bid four million for Maynard, Mr Derby/Leicester/County/Leeds fan? You're an person that should go forth and try and trick some other people.

Oh wait, you're not clever enough to...

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you derby in disguise? a resounding yes... At least forest seem to have some sense of quality not quantity...although a bit of quantity would be welcome atm im glad we arent following derby's typical example of signing anything that moves... if tys was unhappy at squad status at forest good luck to him being one of derbys 30 front men (for the sake of any derby fans reading this is an "exaggeration")

Agree0 Disagree0

If that was true why do we make offical money moves?

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said editor......well said

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm 10000% certain that Macca wouldn't have come to a club if he didn't have money to spend also he wouldn't have let 9 players leave if he didn't have new players in line

I can not believe some people, most of the players gone are player who made sub or a run of a few games when injury, suspension or fatigue kicked in. I would not be suprised to see a few squad player in plus a few loans putting the squad on par to last year.
Some fans may moan about Andy Reid but lets be honest he has more skill than any of the players gone who can play on the left. Us fans have no idea whats happeing or whats coming through the ranks. Maybe just maybe some youth can fill in for a few games when needed.
I don't blame ND for not waisting millions on over prised players.
As far as we know selling the player who have gone on a free may have ment Forest having to pay sell on fees, costing more than the transfer fee we may have got.
To all the hardcore fans COYR {Ed014's Note - From the U18s; Lascelles, Bamford, Gibbons and Freeman all look quality players and will be in and around the 1st team squad next season.}

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Got no problem with the likes of lascelles and bamford coming through and even young freeman but let's be honest about the situation, squad is already young, need a few older heads in the team. And our strikers are purely awful, tudgay crap 1 good game against derby, garner is Sunday league quality and dopey mcgoldric couldn't score in a brothel. Findley and young bamford are our only hope at the minute but we need a quality striker alongside findley and use bamford from the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for that Marthur

Agree0 Disagree0

Both lascelles and bamford look really good, big futures ahead for those boys, arsenal have already had a 5mill bid turned down for lascelles.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you are forgetting about Blackstock even though he will not be back till Christmas/January he is still quality and Tudgay is good always gives 110% and i think we should give McGoldrick a chance as when he has played he can prove what he can do so next time think before you speak

Agree0 Disagree0

Tudgay gives 110% have I been watching a different team then? he's a idle git. mcgoldrick isn't good enough mate, how many chances do you want him to have? yes we do have blackstock and he does give 110% and can get goals so I agree on him but tudgay is just lazy and the amount of tap ins he misses is a crime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not forgetting Robbie Findley....he will be a goal machine this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Findley to be championship top scorer

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbons was released earlier in the season

Agree0 Disagree0

We've also got Karlton Watson too. He's back in training after his knee injury. The squad will be young for next season. I'd sooner us look for the few experienced players than those players that will cost us a few million. I would like us to go for Peter Leven. He's left MK Dons and I don't think he's joined anyone yet(has he?) I know we don't exactly need central midfielders but he'll be a nice back-up to have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Top scorer in Scotland. Rubish down here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same reason kenny miller went, scott carson has gone, and steven whittaker was tempted...the turkish league is spending silly money wage wise on average players... although as former red michael stewart discovered as did darius vassell payment is often delayed and even witheld

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2011 10:51:52
everyone seems to be posting saying that routledge is a done deal but there is nothing in the press or on any other sites to say that our bid was even accepted, never mind him having a medical. Ed, can u shed any light on this or what the giles barnes situation is as he apparently has bin offered a contract too. {Ed014's Note - I'm told the bid has been accepted, although i am not entirely 100% certain. There hasn't been anything further so far regarding Routledge (contract talks, medical yet..). I think Barnes is still proving his fitness but is also negotiating a contract, which both parties hope will be sorted before the pre-season trip to Portugal. If not, still expect him to join up for the 5-days training.}

Believable4 Unbelievable5

This is a prime example in the way Forest operate when trying to sign a player. It's like a saga, it drags on and on. Other clubs just seem to sign players 'out of the blue'. But not us. It's obviously down to the fact that we are trying to get players 'on the cheap'; but I'm affraid it wont work.

Why does everyone complain about transfers we still have our best players and have got rid of the extra baggage eg tyson, mckenna and we have brought in premiership players eg reid and routledge. none of our targets have gone elsewere and mcclaren is not leaving so relax its only early july

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Has routledge been confirmed? we have a squad of 13 thats whats worrying

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate, we complain because we are considerably weaker as a squad now compared to the end of last season while our rivals are getting stronger. We complain because if we dont get players on soon they won't have time to gel with the squad and understand how Schteeve wants them to play. We are only 4 weeks away from KO and 8 players short. We have to move fast.

Agree0 Disagree0

So we've signed Routledge have we? That's news to me. And if we don't 'dab in' Leicester will probably sign him as well {Ed014's Note - No, we haven't. Although I'm told the fee has been agreed, but contracts can regularly be a large stumbling block at Forest}

Agree0 Disagree0

To the first replier. WE HAVE MORE THAN 13 PLAYERS FOR GODS SAKE {Ed014's Note - Not according to McClaren}

Agree0 Disagree0

Camp, darlow, smith, lynch, chambers, Morgan, Gunter, freeman, lacelles, Anderson, mccleary, Reid,
Cohen, mcgugan, majewski, garner, mcgoldrick, blackstock, findley, tudgay, bamford. 22 players there..... And I'm sure I've missed some. Need to bring 4 or 5 players, so we aren't relying on the youngsters so much. Keep the faith....

I have heard that McClaren requested an emergency meeting with Arthur and Doughty yesterday. He is extremely worried about the lack of signings and having to work with 13 players during the first week of pre-season. He has already seen a number of targets go elsewhere and understands that other potential targets are preferring moves to other clubs. McClaren and has asked a few questions of agents he knows and found that Forest are just not prepared to match the salaries offered by other Championship clubs. I understand that McClaren is seriously thinking about his future already.

Believable22 Unbelievable12

Rubbish whats your source HP

Agree0 Disagree0

And who can blame him

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point i do think wages are a problem at this club

Agree0 Disagree0

I've also heard this as well. Pity nobody told Mclaren what he was walking into with Arther & Doughty
Mclaren should have had a word with Billy what to expect. 3 Years with no permenant left back - an absolute disgrace.

Agree0 Disagree0

I ve said it before......Forests money men have got ambitions far above the depth of their pockets, it s as simple as that
We need to sign at least 4 top, and I mean top, quality players or we may as well forget it this season, end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

Somebody told me last night that McClaren is really angry about what has happened in the past week or two and feels his reputation will be damaged if he stays. The actions of the Board have not matched up to the words before he signed up. He feels cheated.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if it's just forest that have such legions of ungrateful trouble making fans? They would still moan and have tantrums if we signed messi and made the CL.

Seems someone's decided to destroy mcclaren before he's even played a game. For the amount of abuse he gets I wouldn't blame doughty if he chucked it all in and let forest go bust. {Ed001's Note - every club has them, I cover all the sites and it is the same on them all, it can be depressing reading all the negativity at times!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, this is ridiculous - having seen the way BD was treated for a couple of years, there's no way SM would have expected more than this. He'll be hacked off but will be aware of the limitations. Are there really any clubs with our finances who are doing anything more than us? West Ham are a Prem club and have been for years so they can attract real quality while Leicester and Cardiff have more money than sense and it could all go crashing down for both of them. We aren't missing out on many - Cork is the only one I believe chose an opposition side rather than us and even he may not have been approached for all we know.
Have patience guys - and don't believe the wums

Forest now looking at sharp and goodwillie 4 strikeing postions along with heskey, they r also looking abrord at 2 or 3 players. Routlege, jones and zenden all could sign as soon as this week. Also enquarys 4 defensive players moussi 2 sign contract this week

Believable14 Unbelievable12

What a load of tosh, are you right Heskey?

The man is useless, i hope this crap is that, what a waste of space

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont believ that we will bring anyone in who costs more than say 1 mill, or anyone who has wages above something like 9k...so we need to adjust our sights accordingly - mediocre players, and mid/lower tab finish sorry guys its not looking good....gawd I hate fester

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont believe we are looking at anyone other than hasbeens ive no faith in the board anymore

i have hard from an internal source within the club that we have given up on the pursuit of nicky maynard as the fee bristol are after is far to high, however the attention has now been turned to getting Emile Heskey in along with Billy Sharpe from Doncaster, Routledge deal is agreed in principal just waiting on the medical to go through over the weekend along with the signing of Dave Jones and Bolo Zenden.
The Left back problem remains though as Ryan Bertrand is waiting to see if he can secure a Premiership move and Nicky Shorey is not interested in a move. Wayne Bridge was enquired after but also said no, the main target now is Murphey from Birmingham.
The lad in scotland Goodwillie is also been enquired about.

Believable15 Unbelievable10

Hope your right tbh

Any of that list named would be decent players for us........except HESKEY

No way would i like to see that donkey at our club

Nottingham Forest defender Luke Chambers is attracting interest from Reading.
Despite Forest missing out on promotion yet again through the play-offs, Chambers was outstanding at the heart of the defence.
And Royals boss Brian McDermott has earmarked the current Forest player of the year as a direct replacement for skipper Matt Mills, who joined big-spending Leicester City this week.
