Dougie freedman in already
CARLO

1.) 01 Feb 2015
Does this mean we will finally get Darren Pratley, with his Bolton connections?

Feels like another Steve Cotterill type appointment. Desperation and a low budget. Will be sacked before end of the year.

3.) 01 Feb 2015
Yep Freednan in with Pearce expected to take on another role at the club as expected tho Freedman role at the club is believed to be only till the end of the season

Fawaz must be getting ready to sell

No-one will buy the club. Finances in a right mess, under an embargo and with this appointment taking a huge step backwards. League 1 is beckoning. Knee jerk appointment and I am seriously unhappy.

Well 3 wins in 24 not really knee jerk reaction? Needed to do something s d it's been done. Cannot get any worse- losing to the bottom club at home. It has been awful so although he is still a legend- time was up.

As a Pearce fan I am sad to see this day but most Reds could see this happening sooner or later.
Am I sad to see Stuart go: yes.
Do I think Freedman is the answer:no

8.) 01 Feb 2015
Absolutely no time has been taken to find a replacement. Results have been poor for a long time. So you would think that a ready made replacement would be lined up. So yes it is a knee jerk decision to replace sp with freedman. If it doesn't inspire the fans it isn't going to inspire the players. Out of work for a reason. Di Matteo would have been a better choice. Someone who is proven and will give the club stability.

Will this change the Abdoun situation?

Get real, why would Di Matteo leave Schalke? Could be a great choice, give him chance

I very much doubt that all of this was sorted out since the final whistle on Saturday (people don't really think that do they?). FAH and his advisers will have learned enough in recent months to realise that he couldn't possibly dismiss another manager without having his replacement fully prepped to step in (can you imagine the papers?). I suspect, therefore, that a search has been conducted away from the media gaze in recent weeks and, of those willing to entertain the idea, Dougie Freedman was the man with the highest profile (or something - I dunno).

12.) 02 Feb 2015
DF will have been in place for weeks; I suspect he was expecting to be in post Derby game but for the unexpected result. Sad SP not given time but DF not the answer to poor results. However, who else would take on the club with 6 (?) managers since 2112 and in the middle of an embargo?
SP deserved better treatment than someone in place within an hour. Farwaz, shoddy treatment of a legend and suspect he will tell you where to stick your other role in the club. He and I bleed red. Loyalty and respect needed Farwaz. If I was you, I'd have spent my money on a class, proven No2 and kept SP in place.

13.) 02 Feb 2015
@ Red Diva: The way to respect your manager is to let him select his own No. 2 and leave them to it: for all we know, FAH has done this (and for far too long). When a manager is demonstrably failing in his job, bringing in help - presumably against his will, what with him having brought his own people in - is not respecting his position. Furthermore, why would you shore up a management regime that doesn't work at the top rather than make the more obvious move of removing a failing manager? There are myriad valid questions and concerns about SPs ability to organise and motivate. if you have to hire someone to do those things for him, what's the point of keeping the manager on the payroll? We all love SP but there's a time and a place for sentiment and this ain't it.

Red Diva - living up to your name. I for one will always respect and love SP even though this job has not worked out. Do I personally think dougie Freedman is the right man, no! However I also hope I will be eating my words in ten games when fans are getting excited because he has got us on a good run and moving up the table. Fawaz has done so much for this club, I find it disrespectful that a section of fans continue to have a go at him.

I would not dismiss Freedman, he has at east the talent in the squad. What has been lacking is team tactics, and organisation. Some semblance to a pattern of play that the players buy into would do us wonders. Every week under SP we had different selections and different formations, it became shambolic. Pearce may have been a great left back but he is no manager.

16.) 02 Feb 2015
I can imagine the interview now:

FH: Will you play Abdoun?
DF: Yes
FH: The jobs yours :-)

Ultimately DF came in to both palace and Bolton and got them out of the proverbial messes that both clubs were in. Our aims have somewhat changed given recent results and on a short term contract perhaps he is exactly what we need
