Latest on loan striker, DF says that he is hopefully about to announce a loan striker that will excite the fans, that it will be a great signing for a championship club. The deal is not fully finalised, but could be within 48 hours, however it may not be fully sorted before the trip to Brighton. He indicates that the player owes him a big favour, and is going to repay that favour to me.

Got to be Glenn Murray hasn't it?

Glenn Murray? However with Dwight Gayle leaving for Fulham may scupper a potential deal.

Tried posting on here the other day but admin obviously didn't find it worthy! But odds dropped for Gary hooper joining forest definitely a good striker and could come on loan with option to buy after ffp

Bournemouth have had a bid accept for Murray so doubt it's him, though DF said it was the Manager that owed him a big favour not the player (though I could've read that wrong)

Not been this excited about a signing since Cloughie told us he was signing a proven striker to keep us up, mad we ended up with Robert Rosario!

7.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 09:07:40
Having read DF interview its not a loan signing!!!

8.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 09:19:57
It's Gary Hooper, the manager that owes him a favour is the Norwich manager, who helped when he was starting out in managing, and gave him lots of advice being a fellow young manger himself, may of also loaned him one or two players in the past too. It's now down to Hooper to decide if he wants to drop back down, or fight for a place to play in the prem.

Doubt it, rumoured player has Europa league experience, never played in England but was interesting PL clubs last season. I'm thinking more Spanish, David Moyes connection. Unless anyone knows of DF contacts anywhere else in Europe? Or new scout working magic??

im not holding my breath about exciting, i heard it was a guy from swansea. i can only think of marvin emnes ? or is it not a striker ?

Deffo a striker, hopefully he will be better than what we already have.

Ljc makes a credible argument fur hooper!

Colin fray has just tweeted that Gary Hooper is close to joining, would be a great signing IMO!

14.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 11:45:38
Fray tweeted that ages ago !! Long eaton red is it definitely a striker or is it Defoe a striker ???!!

15.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 11:54:46
I said Gary Hooper last week and got grief from people, would be great if it comes off, would you play Hooper and assambolonga up front together?

16.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 12:04:44
If Hooper would be a great signing, just thought maybe Adam Le Fonda as he been told can leave Cardiff and wants to move back towards his roots (Manchester).

17.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 12:07:46
Captain Caveman - Colin Fray doesn't have a twitter account he occasionally uses the Official BBC Sports Nottingham one and the tweet about Hooper signing was 5 days ago.

Sneaky feelin it could be defoe too!!!!

Adam Le Fondre having a medical today at a undisclosed location/club. Could it be Nffc? Does DF have any history with this player?

20.) 03 Aug 2015

Le fondre has tweeted he's off for a medical but hasn't said who!

This is my left field rumour for an exciting surprise loan signing.
Jay Rodriguez from Southampton.

Here's why.

He has finally returned to full fitness but lacks match time to go straight back into the team.

Southampton will not risk loaning him to a Premiership club but need to get him firing again in the first 6 months of the season.

When DF was at Palace he sold Clyne to Saints for £3m who have now cashed in. Favour to be returned to get JR match fit whist Britt returns. Both are similar players to fit in tactically.

That's why DF is keeping it quiet.

25.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 15:13:44
Berbatov looking at joining a club in the Midlands, surely too good/too expensive for nffc?

26.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 15:20:31
Whoever it is they will probably be haunted by the curse of the forest strikers. do a season with us on loan score 6 goals then a season at another team and hit 25, but i'd like to see murray, experienced, scores, can play either in a 2 or on his own and wickham has just gone palace to push him further down the pecking order.

27.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 15:22:37
Norwich are close to signing a striker from Dynamo Kiev, this will free up Hooper to move on loan to nffc.

28.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 15:26:50
Alexander Sorlath, Rosenborg, anyone?
Dougie sold a striker to them when clearing out Palace, player young international, Europa league experience and available? Just trying to piece the clues together, here to be shot down.😉

29.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 16:05:51
The Rodriguez one is exciting, but was it Koeman who DF sold Clyne too, or Pochatino (or whatever his name is, the Spurs manager)

30.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 16:25:22
Longeatonred

It would not be Berbetov, he is a luxury striker. Fergie got rid of him for that reason.

31.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 16:36:48
Another name to throw into the pot - Marouane Chamakh - European Experience at Palace but not sure any Freedman link to him or Pardew though is a link to Palace.

32.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 17:13:07
Still sticking my neck out for Hooper.

33.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 17:13:37
Wont be jay rod as DF says it is a signing not a loan. Also twrnty other clubs mean champs. Its prob hooper as nirwich fans say he will be third or fourth choicevthis season. Yhey also say he has noy been given good run in team due to manager change!!!!

34.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 17:42:00
Redinexile, Koeman saying the season has come to soon for Rodriguez he is nowhere near match fitness, pity he would link up well with Antonio 😎

35.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 18:00:27
DF sold a couple players to Rodgers at Swansea back in 2011/12, could it be a case of two young managers giving each other advice?
A fringe Liverpool player might be on his way.
Heard he doesn't want ballotelli. ;)

36.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 18:33:58
If it's a signing not a loan do you think norwich will let hooper go for free?and would he drop from 30k + to 10k?

37.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 18:40:56
The suspense is killing me 😬😬😬😬😬

38.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 18:48:02
Berbatov going to Villa, so that's one out the way, Norwich fans saying he will go, and bookies have Hooper at 4/1 to join nffc.

39.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 19:19:42
I sort of hope its a season long loan, with a view to buy later. No 'exciting' striker will sign for 10k a week will they?

40.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 19:31:05
I will only concede the, 'Europa league experience, international, never played in England, PL target last season' rumours are not true, if they are red herrings. DF using smoke and mirrors to throw the competition of the real target. who is. just as much of a mystery to me!

41.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 20:50:40
If it is brendan Rodgers it could either be borini or origi. Divock origi has europa league experience when playing for lille last season???

42.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 21:16:36
Origi was voted the worst striker in Ligue 1 last season, he showed promise in the World Cup though. I reckon he would storm the league.

43.) 04 Aug 2015

Zamora just moved to Brighton. Got a suspicious feeling he was our man

44.) 04 Aug 2015

DF did the deal with Les Reed for Clyne when at Palace. Koeman has said Rodriguez is not match fit for the Premiership. However, he has played pre season so the only way he is going to get match fit for the Premiership is a loan move to the Championship.

This will be another John Terry moment for Forest if DF pulls this off!
