Business end of the season and time to start doing the business. Scrappy 1-0 wins, dogged come from behind draws, not interested in football purity - just get the points on the board. A 6,7 even 8 game unbeaten run will cement our top 6 place, mostly wins and pressure well applied to the top 2. Luck with injuries and more of a fair riub of the green from officials (an agenda surely, too frequent for paranoia) and Forest can achieve. But we do it as a team because Together Everyone Achieves More. COYR.

Our back four and keeper are amoungst the best in the league. And our holding two very strong. It will be scrappy odd goal victories for sure. Very interesting two months scouse.

Yes, would agree back four and keeper best in the Championship. In many games though holding play in midfield has been non existent - desperation football at times! Lots of scrappy wins already - would like to see some more controlled games and more cohesion. And more goals hopefully.

I agree red hot but though blessed with skilĺ silva does not impact on enough games and maybe its pace that let's him down can't fault his effort something Missing at this level.

What he lacks is a final ball and goal when in good positions.
What he can do is tackle as well and that's probably why he gets in ahead of carvalho, if ever he can deliver a final ball and score regular he'd be first class.
Nobody has knocked him more than me but he just fits in with the hard working team ethic that we are about.

Quick review of posts and some of us have issues with certain players. Neco? Jota? Yates? (In the past, including me). PL is relentless beast, we need all of our players on board. Until or unless we get 'better' replacements, we need them all. Injuries and suspensions dictate that. We're over achieving (IMO and pleased) but need all of our squad. If they rate 5 or 6 out of 10 and we still win, great. If they're continually average, they get replaced. Nuno knows. FTID.

The league is too unpredictable at present. We beat West Ham easily, Newcastle beat us easily and West Ham just beat Newcastle easily. Go figure. I did a bet builder last night, based on Newcastle's performance against us and got 2 right out of 10. The game is all about attitude. After manager and player of the month awards, we were briefly 3rd and played like we just needed to turn up. Regardless of our next opponents, we need the hard work that got us up the league in the first place. If not, we will drop points again. FTID.

Agreed Scouse. I watched both games on Sky on Sunday afternoon. I thought Onana saved Man Utd from defeat at Ipswich and bottom v top Saints could ans perhaps should have got at least a point against Liverpool. If it wasn’t for their managers ridiculous insistence on playing out from the back which cost them the first goal ( and a nasty bounce of the ball for the penalty) they’d might even have won. Crazy times!

Agreed DTP but we have the quality of players who can do that, Southampton don’t. It’s beyond them and it’s cost them, I believe, 8 goals this season already.
Like SC Martin should adopt his style to the type of players he’s got.

I think Nuno is less of a purist than Martin. Against certain opposition, if we are weathering a storm, the players have permission to launch it long, particularly Sels. We are lucky to have players like Murillo who can do it.
Pickford at Everton plays entirely differently for them than he does for England because, unless it’s a simple pass, he hits it long usually into touch. Dyche recognises that anyone who thinks Pickford is a ball playing goalkeeper needs sectioning under the Mental Health Act imo! ??.

We play the other 19 teams twice. When we play them is largely irrelevant, although playing the perceived top 6 on the bounce could effect morale. Judging a season after 3-4 games seems a little nonsensical. If the doomers are still calling for Nuno's head in Dec, then let's see who's available. Maranakis is keen to tap into the Brazilian market, using Mendes. Having a Portuguese coach seems a logical step to me. In the words of Lance Corporal Jack Jones 'Don't Panic' - yet. FTID.
