9 players rested approx cost of our team last nite less than 10m
Spurs team last nite approx cost 100m
We matched until last 20mins
Well done lads.
Impressed with Vaughen hope he int injured
Osbourne going to be excellent player.
Wilson looking good.
Think with fryatt out injured I would like us to bring in another forward on loan because at the moment lars int ready.
Think he would benefit from going out on loan
To help him adjust to English game maybe lower championship side or league 1.

I love all these judgements on lars. The lad has played about twenty minutes of champ football before the Spurs games and then plays against excellent international centre halfs in his first action. Yet we have all decided that he isn't good enough yet or definitely can't play up top on his own. It's comical

Completely agree with Keeno, Lars is being made to adjust to life in England in tough circumstances. I would have preferred to see him play against Millwall rather than Spuds. It's no criticism of SP's choices though. You can't really drop Britt in league matches and Forest aren't playing two strikers up top at the moment. But as for Lars going out on loan, SP clearly thinks he's got something otherwise he wouldn't have bought him. And to send him out on loan would basically suggest that he can't learn by playing at Forest and would severely dent his confidence. It would be a terrible idea.

I managed to get to the game and I thought Forest were very good. Ben Osborn is absolute quality. He's a left footed Paul Scholes and will definitely be in the Prem before too long. Vaughan was good but I was also impressed with how cool Tesche looked. Cohen's injury is a real disappointment but Tesche is more than capable of playing in that position from what I saw. Pato also had a great first half but faded later.

Pity about the loss but there's a lot to be encouraged about.

Generalising about a player after one competitive performance may well be comical, suffice to say if Lars is to assume the role of lone target man or along side Assombalonga, he will need to impose himself much more on the game than he did against Spurs. When it came to pressing & workrate Lars seemed on a different page to the rest of the team. His performance didn't trouble Spurs, nor would it have troubled any championship defence. To say he's not ready yet seems perfectly fair to me.

When a lot of fans were getting excited over his signing i said at the time it was strange that none of the big Dutch clubs were sniffing round him given his record in the lower echalons of their league. It doesn't seem quite so strange now.

I thought Lars played well, he had very little service for much of the game and was forced to chase down scraps.
Set up the goal too

he'l be much better playing champ football when we have more controll of the game

Can we please stop comparing Ben Osborn to Paul Scholes. It's embarrassing.

Osborn is a busy and reasonably tidy player that will put in a shift but I think he very obviously lacks a bit of quality. Yes, he's got a trick or two and yes, he was our MOTM against Spurs but he is certainly not as good as Paul Scholes or even a similar type of player. The technique and range of passing just isn't there.

Even with his MOTM performance there were still misplaced passes and poor touches. I don't think he will end up a long-term top flight player, I think he should make a decent Championship-level CM in future but not much more. Certainly not an England International and defintely not Paul Scholes.

Blimey wonky are you a part time motivational speaker? :) he may as well pack up now - don't you think SP or our other coaches can improve him and make him into a slightly better player that could grace the premiership?

8.) 26 Sep 2014
Just a point ref Lars. This was the first time most of us had seen him play. Like me, I expect we all were looking for him to show he could be useful. Now I know he's not had much game time but usually you can tell if a player has got it or not even in the time he got the other night. Apart from his pass for the goal, which he made without an opponent anywhere near him, I really didn't see anything to convince me. Hope I'm wrong but he looks a donkey

9.) 26 Sep 2014
I'm just a realist, 2tone. I don't get carried away with myself like a lot of fans. He's progressing well and looks to be a useful squad player for us. If/When we reach the Premiership he might get a few games but I really don't think he is, or ever will be 'Premiership quality'. That's not pessimism or being negative, it's just an honest opinion.

My main gripe is that people have the balls to actually claim him to be the next Paul Scholes - One of the greatest midfielders of his generation. Seriously? Have a word.

10.) 26 Sep 2014
Osborn reminds me more of Jack Wilshere than Scholes. Left sided, likes to make driving runs from deep midfield positions, likes a tackle. I'm not sayng he is as good as Wilshere obviously but has a similar playing style.

11.) 26 Sep 2014
I get what you're saying wonky but even if he ends up half the player scholes was, we have got one hell of a player. I was just trying to say that we have a back room team who are all aiming to promote and improve young players and i'm a bit more optimistic that all of our players will continue to improve in the next few years-how much they improve is impossible to say but they all have a great opportunity to grow as players and aim to make an impact in the premier league.

He will have the lars laugh I'msure, you may have saw a donkey, I saw a nuisance for the opposition. Big strong, ok not quick, but this guy needs a few games and hw WILL score. FFS pineapple scored.
