I was one of the fans who really wanted stability to stick with a manager, give them plenty of time to get a decent backroom staff together and to try and implement a way of playing that can work through from the youngsters to the first team. I am however struggling to see enough positives from MW - the way he plays should be worked on through the academy and I'm sure we would see results in the coming years here comes the problem!

I cannot think of any manager who has ever been successful who hasn't played to his players or collective groups strengths, the level of success doesn't matter - it could be winning the champions league, a cup or winning a relegation battle. It looks to me that we are playing to our weaknesses in an attempt to play in a way that some of our players just cannot do.

We do have some good players and if they are encouraged to play to their strengths rather than their weaknesses we could easily have an extra 6-10 points this season. Come on breadman - play to our strengths and we will all support you, keep messing and it's a downwards spiral and more fans will get on your back.

1.) 29 Dec 2017 17:05:20
But he’s not got a full squad capable of playing the football he wants. He’s not moaned about the squad that he has but it’s certainly obvious he feels he needs more of a certain type of player.

You’re right, we need stability but more importantly, and possibly above other things - we need patience and belief. No one is saying, “let’s see how this works over the next 5 years” - it’s a case of us understanding that right now, we are simply a mid table team trying to improve.

That improvement comes from a structure, a philosophy and a recruitment plan which are all on the same page.

Give this man another season and if it’s not working we look at our options. I’d also make a case for us being unable to attract top, top managers if we continue this revolving door policy.

2.) 29 Dec 2017 18:43:56
2 tone your bang on regarding players playing to strengths.Joe Worrall is a good example. When he keeps it simple he looks class but sometimes I feel he takes risks with the ball when it's just not necessary and seems out of character.I do have to give MW credit for giving some of these young men a chance.Past managers have been guilty of having a closed door policy on young players development.

3.) 29 Dec 2017 19:18:51
Ldn red - he’ll never have a full squad capable of playing the way he wants, that’s a completely different level to where we are and would cost millions!! If he isn’t careful he will ruin some of our ‘better’ players as they will forget what they are actually good at. I want to back him and give him a few years but I do want to see steady signs of improvement

4.) 29 Dec 2017 19:56:43
I’m not saying you’re wrong - but what I will point to is that in past/current seasons, teams which play a very similar style to us have competed at the top end or been promoted without spending millions.

Teams like: Sheffield United, Reading, Fulham, Bournemouth, Watford and Swansea.

MW won’t be looking to try and spend millions, he’ll be selecting players which fit his style.

5.) 29 Dec 2017 21:51:21
Bang on 2tone. Best post on here for ages

6.) 29 Dec 2017 21:53:35
Another season... You really think so?
Please lnd red enlighten us to why you think he should be given another season?
You state you want to sit down all of whom disagree with the way of the breadman... Again please enlighten us? Myself like many feel exactly like 2tone.

The inability to address many shortcomings is not how structure is built.
Structure comes from the chairman down to the staff who steward each week.
There seems to be a piece missing where Warburton is concerned his way of tactics, leaving players out in the cold and playing out position isn't a structured formula.
Yes structure takes time I agree but how much time is required.... 2,3,4 seasons?
So lnd red please with your infinite wisdom and inside knowledge tell us why Mr. Warburton is the messiah?

7.) 29 Dec 2017 23:11:04
I’m not one for enlightenment, I have an opinion, just like everyone here.

There’s certainly negatives with some of MW’s decisions, not all I’ve agreed with. But why kick us when we’re down though? Why get rid of the manager so quickly and start from scratch - AGAIN.

I feel it boils down to this. We have a young squad incapable of playing MW’s tactics on a regular basis and some fan favourites not getting as much game time as people would like. I’d be the first to say that we should’ve signed a CB and a GK in the summer, I’d like to think we tried (Hector & Federici) at least! The defence is certainly our weak point and it’s of course a shortcoming thay it wasn’t fixed back then.

The team he has now isn’t even his yet. There’s plenty of players in there which don’t suit the way Warburton wants to play which I think is largely why some players are being played out of position or not at all (Vellios). I personally feel we need to trust in a philosophy/manager and buy players which are suited to that style. It’s the only way we can make a real success of this - not by bringing in someone new and having them reshape the squad their way.

If we’ve learnt anything over the past few years, it’s that changing manager takes us at least 8months to reset. It’s been the thing which has largely held us back in recent years.

What we have now (I think), is a manager who wants to promote from within, has a clear idea of how he wants us to play and is willing to build a squad capable of doing that in his style. It doesn’t just happen in 1 window (incredibly rarely!).

Worth noting quickly - if we lose MW, we also lose our DoF, Frank McParland. Not something I’d want to do in a hurry.

Warburton aside for a minute - and remembering last season, where do people feel would be an acceptable place for us to finish based on our squad. Top half would be a lot of progress in my book.

If we can manage our expectations and take the lows with the highs, I think we’ll all be better for it.

8.) 30 Dec 2017 09:38:31

I agree with what you are trying to get across, but i feel 2 things are getting on most people's nerves are, we let the opposition score too easily, and there has been little sign of it being sorted, and inspite all of our possession, and odd patches of really good football the opposition mostly out play us.

It is a slow process, and we should try to be more positive, and hope for the best, but with each loss it gets harder.

9.) 30 Dec 2017 10:25:00
With you there 100%. Who here could say watching us lose is much fun?! I was at the Wednesday game and felt for much of the match we were actually miles better than them. 3 one on ones and a strong penalty shout - we were unfortunate not to go in 3-1 up at half time.

I digress.

The defence is a cause for concern and a large one at that. Most attacking possession based sides do leave themselves open at the back. We do need to be more solid but I’d wager that this is a personnel issue more than anything else.

Look at Huddersfield’s style of play (Champ and Prem), they look to out score you rather than play bland, slow football where you’d be lucky to see us score a goal. Progress is slow but my god, weren’t we a lot worse before?

The statement from the new owners and in particular the new chairman stated they wanted stability. This comes from trust and again, managing our own expectations.

25 million for a club like ours which is running at a loss, has no real assets and no structure still seems an awful lot of money. Fawaz thinks it's worth double that? Whose mad? Is it fawaz, is it the yanks for spending so much time and effort on a gamble that the selller might just crumble and give it away at the last minute or is it the fans who think the club is something that any sane businessman would buy at 50 mill? I'd suggest it's all three of the above?

1.) 14 Jan 2017 19:03:50
It's a gamble but run the club right and we could be worth a hell of a lot more. just think with fawaz gone we will have the 10k back that are staying away whilst he's in charge bringing more money in. get Nigel clough or rowatt in and we will never lose another game and be promoted first season which again brings even more money in! simple

2.) 14 Jan 2017 19:25:28
Lets take it on dragons den see if peter jones will invest

3.) 14 Jan 2017 19:41:00
Nffc is a brand, and as one of only 5 English clubs to be. European champions, then yes, worth 50 mill. Famous throughout the world, and that, you can't buy. Well you can, but you know what I mean!

4.) 14 Jan 2017 19:42:28
what crystal ball you been using?

5.) 14 Jan 2017 22:31:49
None of the championship clubs make money unless they have parachute payments. The difference is a prem team costs 150M and a champ team can get brought for sub 30M. Get it right. get paid.

Our attraction is we have history and fan base. but no ground. We are in this melee every year until we either go up or down. Same as 16 of the other teams. Championship teams lose money. They operate on negative equity. Like it or not Fawaz has helped us exist. JJM would have just been the next one to spin us for another 5 years.

ive been told Rhodes is going Wigan on the final day of the window? Info from a big scouse fan with good links around the nw

1.) No you just read the rumour yesterday. Wigan may however have the cash to buy him after the sale of young midfielder James McCarthy.

2.) Forest rumours

{Ed034's Note - this is a forest rumour as fans on here have been talking about him. If any fan doesn't like the rumour being posted, ignore it and move on to the next

3.) If i'd seen that rumour yesterday why would I just post it again? As I said in the op I was told this by a lpool fan who has good links around the north west.

4.) And its the same Liverpool fan who told me that I wouldn't be able to understand carragher on tv! So he us 100% correct with his info so far this season :-)

{Ed034's Note - he is awful

5.) Not according to Blackburn MD who says they will not sell to Wigan. Its going to be an interesting week to see who we get and who goes. If we could sell a few Rhodes could be affordable with the financial rules.

6.) He has a terrible tv voice which seems to get higher and higher the more animated he gets! Knows his stuff though and says it how it is

7.) Wigan have signed Grant Holt - why would they need another?

Anyone going to any pre season games? Just got Northampton tickets but apparently not a huge amount of interest yet?

14 May 2021 17:56:10
I kept getting some belters from some mates who are Leicester fans, long lists of their recent successes (Lg1,championship, premiership, euro games, fa cup finalists etc) I've managed to shut them up by just replying - "not bad for the second biggest club in the east mids ⭐️⭐️"

1.) 14 May 2021 18:22:04
It says something when they think gourmet food is a packet of crisps. 🤣.

2.) 14 May 2021 18:37:08
Love it 2tone, but i do miss wes morgan 😔.

3.) 14 May 2021 20:06:29
One for you rogie. I was telling the lads my mate works at a bowling alley. Ten pin? I said nah full time 😑.

4.) 14 May 2021 20:17:39
Erm GF so I've been kidding myself mate . Always wondered why i was in the as kean said . Prawn cocktail crisp squad 😳.

5.) 14 May 2021 20:36:23
I see rooney has been given the vote of confidence. A spokesman said this time next season he should reach 3 stars. Putting salt on chips.

6.) 14 May 2021 21:07:25
Thats the last ya can tell i'm missing the wife hahahaha. Night reds enjoy your weekend and stay safe 👌.

7.) 15 May 2021 02:05:03
Very funny mate!

8.) 15 May 2021 09:38:17
😂 ended up talking to myself rogie. i'm off to a farm today with my mate. My youngest was supposed to be coming but he's unwell. There's about 3 bars next to it. So looking forward to sitting out freezing my nuts off. The geordie lasses probably wearing next to nothing putting us to shame 😂 1st time iv'e been away since lockdown started. got to make up for my birthday. Will have a drink to you all reds. Enjoy the game 👍👍👍.

9.) 15 May 2021 09:41:54
Dont really care about Leicester, personally. I even enjoyed watching them under Martin O'Neill.

Tell them to go play with Northampton or Coventry, their true rivals.

10.) 15 May 2021 14:50:49
Enjoy Bowie 🍻🍻🍻.

11.) 15 May 2021 17:27:45
Thanks rogie/ dreamteam my sons with me now . Change of plan he's ok. Me and my mate came back to watch final. The youngest getting stuck in. Probably see him around 2an . Little sh#t lol.

08 Mar 2020 20:06:37
Ok lads looks like it's one last push to make sure we finish seventh 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣.

1.) 08 Mar 2020 20:12:07
Brilliant 2tone you would think we've been crap all season and fighting relegation with some of posters on here, top 6 all season but still want more.

2.) 08 Mar 2020 20:30:42
How’s it going 2tone I was thinking we would of won the league by now got to say though am a wee bit pissed off but would of took the position were in now at the start of the season.

3.) 08 Mar 2020 20:40:05
Dont worry skeggs it's all part of the plan, we will win the last 9 games and go up as champions 😁😁😁.

4.) 08 Mar 2020 21:55:11
Anybody watch the manchester derby? sl should get the forest first team in to watch the dvd and learn how when a ball is played to a player you have it under control with first touch not three or four just an observation.

5.) 08 Mar 2020 22:44:10
We're not united and never want to be we are forest and really happy with that as like us they now live in the past but there past will never be run by the best manager in the world Mr clough.

6.) 08 Mar 2020 22:46:02
If he had that quality of player I'm sure he would, but he has the squad he's been given and can only work on them.

7.) 09 Mar 2020 08:41:48
My point is both teams had young players in them who can control a ball first time all i'm pointing out is why can't our players do the same isn't it basic skills? it don't have to be utd or city most prem teams are the same.

8.) 09 Mar 2020 11:18:38
Teams like Utd get to cherry pick the best young players that are in, and that will come to this country Aps. I do not know how the salaries of coaching staff affect ffp but if the club could attract better coaches by offering over the odds for the league we are in it would help the club in the long term.

30 Jan 2020 08:54:32
FawazM2-I'd like to try and send you a couple of cans of positivity and recycle those old negative cans, can I have your details from Ed? It's not all doom and gloom mate - I know it's a banter site and positive and negative views should all be posted and discussed but I'd love it if you posted something that made it sound like you're enjoying being a forest fan 👍 we are sitting pretty in the play offs and we should be enjoying it.

1.) 30 Jan 2020 09:15:09
Only 2 points from automatic promotion aswell, and with the top two still to play us.

2.) 30 Jan 2020 09:21:15
2tone are they cans of stella mate if they are don't waste them on fawaz send them to me lol.

3.) 30 Jan 2020 09:30:37
I’d buy most of you on here a pint of Stella if I met you🍻a couple of posters might only get a half empty glass of water though 🤷🏻‍♂️.

4.) 30 Jan 2020 09:33:58
2tone. Absolutely spot on my old mucker. We really only want positivity now until the last ball of the season is kicked ⚽⚽😎.

5.) 30 Jan 2020 09:59:47
lol 2Tone.

6.) 30 Jan 2020 10:02:43
2tone you certainly can my friend.

7.) 30 Jan 2020 13:10:02
Great words 2tone keep it up and keep smiling ☺.

09 Jan 2020 08:35:09
All we need is a striker who'll get 12 goals in the next 12 weeks but might have to sit on the bench for most of the time, a great winger who tracks back well and can cross on a sixpence and a hard working midfielder who scores goals- we also need to make sure they aren't too expensive and here comes the tricky part-we've got to make sure nobody else has everr heard of them or seen them play as there's a fair chance 200 other clubs throughout the world are looking for these gems 🤷🏻‍♂️
It really should be easy 🤣.

1.) 09 Jan 2020 09:02:21
We'd better stop putting names forward then 2tone, we don't want the opposition getting a head start on us, you know what beleisa is like he's got spies everywhere. 😁😁😁.

2.) 09 Jan 2020 09:11:08
Just about sums it up 2tone.
You might add Happy to play for less than premier or parachute payment wages.

3.) 09 Jan 2020 09:40:27
How's it going 2tone all 3 of them in by the end of the day then 😁.

4.) 09 Jan 2020 09:42:18
And according to some fans on here, we need to sign them all before clubs are willing to release them just because we already knew who we wanted to sign!

5.) 09 Jan 2020 10:02:10
Should been looking for them last summer as opposed to some of the flops we did sign and waste lots of cash on!

6.) 09 Jan 2020 10:03:49
To be honest red cyclist it's the same old crap every transfer window just lately I'm just a little bit more concerned that we still have a lot of rubbish in our squad that's still here and we're still paying there wages lol.

7.) 09 Jan 2020 11:23:11
Ff79 - we need to have a word with Ed and make this sure a bit more secure just in case they let our secrets out 👍 hi skegs how are you keeping mate? It’s a bit frustrating at the minute but isn’t it great to be floating around the play offs and still being hopeful that we can push on. I love it when friends start conversations by saying ‘your lot are doing well at the minute aren’t they? ’ I don’t tell them that performances haven’t been great and we’ve pushed our luck at times - I just milk it whilst I can! It’s the one bonus of so called elite football fans (Or Just the premiership?! ) hardly ever seeing championship games 👍 🍻.

8.) 09 Jan 2020 11:40:27
Here Skeggsy?
Wonder if we could get our Forest kit on. and sneak into the training ground? The squad's so big, no one would know?
We could just kind of blend in?
And pick up a hefty wedge too!
What about the rest of you lads?
You up for it?

9.) 09 Jan 2020 12:15:31
We won't get rid of the likes of Clough unless we're really lucky. Jacob is obviously happy to pick up the money and not pay. It seems clear to me.

10.) 09 Jan 2020 12:43:02
great summary 2tone. some people seem to think these things are easy. you missed the part about pricing all the other 200 clubs out of the market as well.

11.) 09 Jan 2020 13:54:21
Yes brilliant 2tone I have a sheep fan who comes in the club when I'm on he's going to be owing me a 100 quid at the end of the season we only after stay above them shouldn't be hard lol and this time last season and the 10 seasons before that always copped the crap off different fans at the club I'm smiling my way through the shift now and I'm not rubbing it in lol and rogie sounds like a great idea I could do with a 4th job one that pays well so I can give the other 3 up lol I think I could run around a pitch for a hour and half also I might get away with looking 36-37 I could get away with saying I'm the new striker lol🤣🤣😎.

12.) 09 Jan 2020 14:07:34
I could do a John o'hare belly lookalike 🤣🤣🤣.

Bowie we have to try and keep positive and continue to support the team 👍 I’m not going to lie though, If I don’t get more enjoyment from this season I will be just watching my local non league team as I am at the end of the line with the money and attitude side of the game.

I think he had two good moments in the n’pton game - neither of them fantastic and didn’t score or create a clear chance. No better than several n’pton players who cost and earn peanuts in comparison to Jc, I would love him to prove me wrong but it’s only because we’ve invested so much in him. if a youth team player or an under 23 player had as many chances as he has he’d be gone. Forget the price tag and he’d be long gone 🤷🏻‍♂️ Over to CH to make the big decision-get rid or Is there still a glimmer of hope?

The few minutes I saw we looked good, moving the ball around quickly and with a bit of intent - didn’t see that much last season.
