He's quality!

According to Fabrizio Romano Forest are in contact with Nuno Espirito Santo as new Head coach in case they decide to fire Steve Cooper.

Heard that Fred, did okay with Wolves but was a flop with Spurs. Has experience in the Prem but is he any better than Cooper?

29 Aug 2023 16:26:56
Nuno Tavares loan deal with an option to buy. Could be completed in next 24 hours according to Fabrizio Romano.

Red Fred

1.) 29 Aug 2023 17:28:03
Surprised we haven't gone for Ndombele - serie a winner last year.

2.) 29 Aug 2023 22:23:51
Probably the fee and his wages?

3.) 30 Aug 2023 17:03:48
very true but could get him on a loan if spurs pay most of his wages? It sounds like we are going to be buisy this week though.

Tavares
Hudson Odoi
Murillo
Domingues

then Batshuayi, Ndid and this greek goalie waiting in the wings!

4.) 31 Aug 2023 01:14:43
Over the 24 hrs now.

5.) 01 Sep 2023 10:09:58
Your an impatient one Phil!
Only a day and a bit late.

27 Aug 2023 21:03:28
Looks like Wifred Ndidi may be next through the door.
Personal terms look to have been agreed.

Red Fred

1.) 27 Aug 2023 22:20:32
Not a bad shout fred.

2.) 28 Aug 2023 06:47:57
He’s been poor for Leicester for a couple of seasons but prior to that he was one of the best holding midfielders in the league. If he can rediscover that form he’ll be a very good signing. Think with more runners around him like Yates, Danilo, Santos he should do well. Good option along with Mangala for a defensive midfielder.

{Ed001's Note - he has had a succession of injury problems, which is why he lost form. It is keeping him fit and not playing him in the centre of defence (which Rodgers did quite a lot) that is the key to getting the most from him.}

3.) 28 Aug 2023 08:09:59
Munich are also after him on loan. Also Nigeria have already qualified for the African league of nations, so could be out for that if we sign him.

@Stevie f. As you requested here I am still bragging after 16 games.
We were in 10th I believe after 6 games when we last spoke?
We can't drop any lower than 5th after the rest of the weekends fixtures.
Great ain't It pal? Like Ed said still early days but my don't it feel good?

Red Fred

1.) 14 Dec 2024 22:08:19

4.) 15 Dec 2024 06:07:33
He is Legless. Check out discussion page where he posted last week.
He asked me to post after 16 games and I have.

5.) 15 Dec 2024 09:28:31
I’ll come back just to acknowledge that Fred, you are entitled to a reply, as I did say what you suggest, yes things are going very well and credit where it’s due, but it’s laughable that your now all tossing yourselves off over the same style of football you were slating the last manager for, he has the luxury of better players, as Ed rightly pointed out, milenkovic has stabilised the defence and is being lauded by most as the bargain of the season, murrillo is a much better and more experienced player and improving all the time, Anderson is a superb player, wood is fit and firing, having turned up from Newcastle totally unfit, with hardly any football, as it happens I never said I wanted nuno gone, but questioned his selections, and still do from time to time, like yesterdays, starting at home with Dominguez and Yates didn’t work, and we looked a different side when he changed it, and he freely admitted in his interview on match of the day, they ignored his instructions and got more forward than he wanted, so won the game inspite of his instructions, , I like nuno he comes across as a lovely bloke, gut don’t let's kid ourselves it’s clough mark 2,

6.) 15 Dec 2024 10:17:29
Good man Stevie.
I'm more excited about the results than the style of football if I'm being honest.
We do get more men forward than we used to though and have looked a lot more solid even with more or less the same midfield, hence we aren't losing as many.
I'll not get into the argument of better players as it's been done to death on here. There seems to be a fairly even split among posters on the merits of that subject.
I think Nuno's comments were meant to be tongue in cheek and not taken seriously. Not to be used as another way of undermining his role in last night's win.
Once again thanks for the reply.

7.) 15 Dec 2024 11:09:06

Red Fred

1.) 19 May 2024 18:07:32
Incredible away supporters today, and every away game, everyone one of you was pure class. ???.

2.) 19 May 2024 19:09:47
Well said you 2, ureds.

3.) 19 May 2024 19:12:00
As always mate, as always.

4.) 19 May 2024 19:34:52
Well done forest, 4 away wins, and without the points deduction we could have been comfortable before today. there's a good side in the making but can MR M. keep them together?

The rumour mill is already in motion with spurs allegedly in talks with MGW and arsenal looking at MURILLO, I'm sure we could offload fringe players to raise the money for ffp or whatever it is. mgw elanga and Cho are starting to gel together put a quality sf in the mix and they could take any prem defence apart.

If Nuno is to go, then make it this week. If not give him the transfer window and bring in who he wants. Don't get shut in July not fair on a new manager and not enough time before the new season. Have a great summer all you REDS.

5.) 19 May 2024 20:56:11
There is mate. we just didn't see enough of it.
Sort set pieces/ corners too!

6.) 19 May 2024 21:19:43
Nuno won't be going
Not his greatest fan when it comes to subs, but he will be given till at least Christmas to show what he can do
Marinakis seems to of changed his stance on the revolving doors slightly, gave Cooper another contract when we were in the drop zone
Only time will tell
End of the day it's an achievement to stay in the premier for two seasons for a club without parachute payment.

28 Feb 2024 21:50:47
Has this new set piece coach of ours been ringing in sick every day since his appointment?
Our free kicks and corners are abysmal and lack any imagination.
Is he actually telling all the players to line up 25 yards from the opposition goal while MGW lumps it as far as he can hoping a Felipe or Boly will head it back into the area from near the touchline?
It's like a non league set piece ?.

Red Fred

1.) 28 Feb 2024 22:27:00
Haha - brilliant.

2.) 28 Feb 2024 23:35:45
Fred I couldn't agree more on set pieces
MGB is playing well but is not a set piece player.

17 Feb 2024 17:09:16
Nuno masterclass.

Red Fred

1.) 17 Feb 2024 17:49:26

Yeh but can't see us signing both of them?
I expect Turner would want the assurance of being no.1 at Forest.
Real shame either way as by all accounts Hendo wants to come.
The Turner bid may be a ploy to force UTD's hand into stop messing us about?

Aina was at fault for both goals.
More so than Morato for the opener.

And I've named more than a full team of very good players ?.
One thing we can agree on is the two memorable seasons we had under him will remain in our memories forever.

Interestingly Stokey he managed to keep us up with those centre backs.
Unfortunately it was the following season with 3 wins from the opening 17 games or 1 win in 13 if it needs to be made to sound even worse that did for him. A run bad enough to see any manager lose his job.
He had 2 of the players you mention in Murillo and Dominguez available for a decent chunk of that bad run.
Also do you recall Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea? Came with a big reputation but for some strange reason started one game for us and has since gone on to earn rave reviews on loan at Strasbourg.
Indeed it's easy to forget such things when one is trying to convince oneself that we had a load of crap players back then.

No splitting hairs Legolas.
It's come down the Cooper v Nuno debate again.
Here it is in a nutshell in some posters eyes.
Coopers success was down to Cooper.
Nuno's success is down to the players.
Cooper had no say in transfers and had to play who he was given.
Nuno has a say in transfers and gets to choose who comes in.
I know, total nonsense isn't it?
