I hope we sign Glen Murray. At 37 his game will be the same, never blessed with pace but strong and more than an eye for goal.
What do forest fans expect? We are in real danger of slipping into div one and dobyou think any agent would advise an up and coming striker to take the risk in joining us? Ok we could look to a another foreign journeyman but going down that road again? We all are against this policy, mainly as they tske time to settle and time is not on our side.
Glen murray knows this league and the task. He will bring experience and character and a bit more nounce displayed by grabban and taylor.
We say we lack creativity in the centre mid but look at the crosses coming in from christie and ameobi? Some dam good balls, wasted on both our strikers. Murray has a good head on him and without yates we do not have someone busting a gut to eet crosses. All be it yates has no direction with his headers murray will.
I also think Murray is at last a hughton player who will be professional and do a job, even if only to keep us up.
Come on smell reality we cannot shop for strikers in the harrods of this world. Look at dean windass at 40 scored goals that got hull premier league and sherringham at 40.
Think about it.

The smell of reality is, there has to be either a player that i contracted to the club, or a player that is younger than thirty seven years old that is out there to do a job for Forest.

Peterborough have no trouble attracting players and they will not pay half of what Forest pay some of the players that are more interested in improving their golf swing than they are playing well for Forest. 🤔.

The way things are going captain Tom's available on a free he'd fit in well and been keeping himself fit.

{Ed001's Note - the way things are going, Capt Tom would reduce the average age of the team!}

Get forward that is not the point. We know our scouting is dreadful we do not develop goal scoring centre forwards, look at brereton etc The issue is right here right now. We are not looking in scotland or the lower leagues for a player who MIGHT make the sep up. The question is DO WE SIGN MURRAY?
Your statement tho true is for another day when we avoid relegation and look to change direction. Right here right now we need players to fight for the shirt lift the doom and score some goals. Of those available, and i cannot think of many or any, then Murray fits the bill.

Murray's hardly played for two years barring odd game or being a sub.
Struggled with injuries this season so how can you say he'd be a good signing with any confidence?
Its too risky and expensive.
He also would prefer to stay in the south so will come to us if there are no takers down there.

Thsts a fair point 79. However he must be fit now or hughton would not be interested. Watch his prem goals with brighton he is lethal around the box and scores brave headers which nonecof our players do. As for game time i doubt thst will affect him but worthy of a mention. I too thought he seemed retisent to move north but if its a loan short term he might come with a positive mind set.

rutland red 7.

I agree with you about the clubs scouting system, and that they are not a club that likes to buy from lower leagues.

What you said though is, do you think any agent will advise an up and coming striker to take the risk of joining us.

Agents are interested in money, both for them, and the players they represent, so the club offer the right sort of money then they will come.

Rutland I agree with you. Loan till end of season would be ideal. A very physical target man that can hold ball up and is excellent in the air. Someone to rough up defenders and give us a threat from corners. I know he is getting on but these days players are fitter for longer. Anyway he wouldn't be expected to chase around just play on the centre halves and maybe create some chances for Grabban or Taylor who literally get nothing at the moment.

So why did Knockeart take so long to show even a glimpse of form when he had been out for less time than MURRAY.?

How is this debate even getting off the ground of course we shouldn’t sign Murray. He’s 37 for crying out loud. He’s not fit not scored for goodness knows how long. This is how bad we are that half of you would sign this type of player. Jeeezsus people your judgment is as bad as our the hierarchy at forest and you call them blind!

It’s a no from me.
