Is it me? Is the EFL run by bigger and more efficient clowns than us? How on earth can a deadline day decision not be sorted one way or the other after nearly a week. Did they all go on holiday at 5pm on friday and leave the cleaner to answer the phones? Are they Derby fans
Something smells regarding this situation, is it something they have discovered about previous paperwork regarding the player? No as prem have told brom they can include him in their 25 man squad. So something more serious than a 21 second delay has caused this deal to be scutinesd. Whichever as hughton says he knows nothing it is just another clusterf#$k of incompetance from every where surrounding transfers.
Does the efl not realise that the foorball league is about to enter more uncertain territory regarding the virus and and lack of gate money. Clubs are being stretched and soon some clubs will be struggling to pay wages. If they cannot manage a last minute transfer with coherant communications before and after, then God help the clubs that will turn to them in their hour of need. The silence around this supposed deal is frighteningly deafening.

Don't know what else to add to that Rutter's you're spot on mate it's an absolute shambles beyond belief. The thing that bugs me is the silence from the club . They have totally given up speaking to fans unless they want to sell you something . 🤷.

2.) 22 Oct 2020 16:23:12
It’s obvious that the deal has not been agreed by the EFL but forest are challenging it on a technicality that it was still 17:00 when the deal was done. There’s no dilly dallying from the EFL they made the decision straight away. Forest are saying they are waiting to keep us (the fans) quiet until they have chance to challenge the decision. Just my opinion🤷‍♂️.

Very excited to await Hughtons first eleven on saturday. I think he will put out a 4 5 1 set up with only one holding centre mid. Hoping that Arter and Mckenna are fit.
As for new signings i think hughton illonlybringin a player if heis beter than what he hasand have realistic valuations. I still think we need a target and cover for lolley.

Does anyone on here fear for the future of football. Particularly the Lower EFL clubs? With the unpredictability of this the virus issue am not sure hiw sustainable ckubs are going to be without gate money. Orient chairman has said as much. If you look down the food chain with msny of our high earners on loan it will effect us too. Just how long before it becomes an issue is anyones guess. But reality says, who is going to keep paying the bills?

1.) 13 Oct 2020 13:17:07
Its notjust football but buisness in general.
Makes you wonder how many airlines will go bust.
Think wage cuts and tough times will be the order of the day for many years to come.
Football will have to come to terms with it and ffp rules will probably get tougher with wages being looked at especially clubs paying out more in wages than income.

2.) 13 Oct 2020 16:05:34
I was worried about the future of football clubs years before the virus appeared.

3.) 13 Oct 2020 19:35:18
The futures of football clubs was ruined by alex Ferguson's decision to pull out the fa cup because it wasnt important enough?
Alot of money dissapeared for good that day along with the romance of the cup.
So well done alex you should give the sir back for the diservice you did to the fa cup.

Just reading the commentsfrom the eve post regarding the avsilability of Henri Lansbury. Not one positive comment from readers, one even quoting he would much rather have carvallaho back. This really surprised me as Lansbury for us was a fine attack minded hard tackling midfielder. We lack quality from dead balls and he is excellent here. Scored goals from freekicks and open play. TLansbury is the type of player we need at this level. Not your transient sow's of this world, silva or semedo. I hope Hughton does not read, or is influenced by those ignorant comments. Go get him Chris. He would also bring better balance to the midfield than knockeart, thoigh both eould be even better.

1.) 11 Oct 2020 09:55:09
Don't forget when Lansbury left, a short time later we lost Reidy, We have not been the same since.

2.) 11 Oct 2020 09:59:29
I reckon Hughton is fully aware of Lansbury and his attributes.

3.) 11 Oct 2020 10:19:02
Rutland red, got to agree
With you,

4.) 11 Oct 2020 10:42:53
So much more optimistic now with our new Manager.
Surely he'll get them playing?
I've no doubt we can challenge for top six AGAIN this year.
This league is renowned for being so unpredictable.
So no reason why we can't achieve this.
COYRS!

5.) 11 Oct 2020 10:55:55
Just read ANOTHER brilliant Cloughie story from our own Stuart Pearce.
Arsenal were playing us at the City Ground.
Their goal keeper the "Big Pat" Jennings went to retrieve a ball behind the goals. and was hit by a dart, thrown by one of our lot.
So he just pulls it out and puts it in the goals, and told Don Howe about it in his usual casual manner.
So Don Howe tells Cloughie "your supporters are animals! Look what they threw at Pat? "
So that seemed to be the end of it. until Big Pat actually showed Pearce the actual letter. which he read "Dear Pat, I have absolutely no sympathy for you. as when you come here you stop everything that comes your way, so it's no surprise that you stopped a dart"
Lots of Love Brian.
Pearcey laughed his head off!
Just think if that happened today, they'd be rolling around tangled up in the netting like a kipper!
🤣🤣🤣.

6.) 11 Oct 2020 12:09:56
Rutland, maybe this sums up in a nutshell what’s wrong with the club. 75% of the dross we’ve signed post Lansbury couldn’t hold a candle to him .

7.) 11 Oct 2020 12:39:42
Agreed 2star. I understood his leaving but we lost a player thst day.

8.) 11 Oct 2020 14:13:02
Lansbury hasn't really played competitive football for around 3 years I would have reservation's about signing him, just look at Colback he has been awful this season because he hasn't had game time for 18 months.

9.) 11 Oct 2020 15:08:35
Fair point, he looks nothing like the Colback we had before . As you say . Lack of game time as a real Negative outcome .

10.) 11 Oct 2020 19:54:12
Colback was always a done deal regardless of the coach.
He would have been here in jan jan window but for getting injured.
Thats what annoys me.
Idont rate him at all not even when he first came to us.
No pace passes backwards and can't tackle picking up countless yelliws on the way.
Been said on here about carvalho and three coaches left him out.
Well same at Newcastle none of their managers fancied him.
Were they all wrong?

11.) 11 Oct 2020 23:00:35
Well I can vouch you on that, you’ve moaned about him consistently and he’s living up to it now now doubt. I have to say I’ve been shocked by his performances, he doesn’t even look like a footballer at the minute . We will just have to hope he improves with game time pal.

Are you out of isolation yet?

12.) 12 Oct 2020 10:06:04
No missus has tested positive now can't go out until 21st October now mate.
Had four days in bed with bad back pain from my kidney area followed by a lousy headache and coughing and flemmy, missus the same but we are on the mend now.

13.) 12 Oct 2020 19:42:38
That’s not great .
Look after yourselves, this weather is making me feel ill!

Stevief you say i always put a negative slant on things. Well i am bursting with excitement at having Chris Hughton at the helm. This is the sort of manager you invest in. Not your lamouchi's of this world. Hughton knows the expectations of the fans and owners and was a very good attacking full back in his day. Do you know if the backroom staff have been moved on or some still at the club?
Ff79 has mentioned the circus of appointments recently and we have to agree. Partifularly the similarity to that of the Oneil appointment. I think the problem with Martin was bringing Keane with him. I think that had its own issues and may have led to the breakdown. So let's hope Hughton gets the luxury of time, patience and a little investment. Chris Hughton is the man we have been crying out for. He needs time and i doubt anything dramatic will happen in a short space of time but with several tiny positive steps like the first goal first point etc we should move in the right direction. But to repeat, for the first time in a long time we have a very very good manager. let's keep him mr marinakis.

I think lansbury will give better balance to the side. Knockeart was always going to stretch us. Butvif its doen to money i am sure Chris will get the backing. A big strong striker would be my priority.

It gets worse Retford. According to another website that claims forests lawyers are arguing that 21 seconds is still part of 5pm and not 5.01pm. If this is so not only is it childishly pathetic but should be put out in the media domain to let the fans know. Whatever happened to the spirit of the law and good intent and all that? Be interesting to know if it is infact law or rules? Either way what a sorry sorry situation for the fans to have to sit on the sidelines not knowing, not able to attend matches but this bunch of officious clowns can keep the fans in the dark for no valid reason.

Sow won't play he is a liability particularly for this gsme. This may sound daft but i would play ameobi and mighten down the middle. Mighten is headless chicken at the moment but his pace down the middle will terrorise a poor derby defence. Ameobi can hold the ball work it and get shots off very quickly, unlike taylor and grabban. Lolley and knockeart can take care of the wide positions.
