So a difficult day for the team today but resilient . Similar to Boro game except we survived the penalty.
Lots of grumbles that we didn't thrash the divisions bottom team but all games are tough.

Wigan for all their struggles have taken points off Forest, Derby, Huddersfield, WBA, Bristol C, Hull and Cardiff.

Its going to be a scrap lads.

Trentender

1.) 29 Dec 2019 20:57:33
Personally were clutching at straws they have only won 4 games all season one of them was against us lol, if they had any kind of quality in the final 3rd today would of been another Sheffield Wednesday, if we have any kind of desire on the top 6 then yes we should be thrashing them, to be totally dominated by a team that hasn't won for 12 games can no how be made to look positive in your list there is 1 side in the top 6 being wba.

2.) 29 Dec 2019 21:01:43
Trentender. We are pretty woeful, particularly at home. We scrape games. Wigan are bottom of the league and yet they dominated us and but for a poor penalty should have taken a point. Cash was the only one at the races today defensively. You can't be a forest fan and say you are happy to watch that dross. How many managers and transfer windows do we need to fome up with the same conclusion?

3.) 29 Dec 2019 22:36:02
Figuereido was the best defender by far, did everything right and kept the back four in line.

4.) 29 Dec 2019 23:00:07
Totally agree. Too negative approach always. Something needs to change. Hard work watching forest at home despite the full houses!

5.) 30 Dec 2019 01:06:27
Yep I'd sack the coach, first six months in charge and we are so bad were 5th. 🤩🤩🤩.

6.) 30 Dec 2019 06:48:18
Too much bloody gloom and despair! Yes we got a lucky 3 points yesterday, but for those of us at KCOM on Thursday we saw a really energetic Forest beat Hull convincingly. Don’t underestimate what that took out of the squad! I believe SL knows that he can only rely on a relatively small squad and there needs to be more moving out of the dross this January and reinvestment in a small number of quality additions. Hefele, Benaloune, Carvalho, Mir, Muric must go!

7.) 30 Dec 2019 11:20:45
To be honest, if we won the prem some on here would still be moaning, that's just the way it is.

Good 3 points yesterday, back to back wins against potential banana skin opponents. Well done Samba on your penalty save.

Hopefully have Sow back for the next league game.

8.) 30 Dec 2019 14:46:59
We don't have a relatively small squad Tyke, it is huge. LOOOOOOL.

9.) 30 Dec 2019 18:38:50
RedCyclist. I said he could only “rely” on a small squad, there are far too may he cannot rely on!

10.) 30 Dec 2019 19:03:43
Tyke, I'd agree he can't rely on Mir or Muric. Silva and Carvalho are good on their day but totally unreliable. He also hasn't been able to rely on injured players. However there are some decent players he hasn't used or barely used at all yet.

Benalouane is decent but worrying on discipline. Jacob is a good player. Tyler Walker is a prolific goalscorer and not even in the squad. Brennan Johnson is a very good player and wouldn't have to do much to turn out to be more consistent than Silva and/ or Carvalho.

28 Nov 2018 22:17:44
Well, we will never score goals because AK is defensive minded and we won't be entertained. need a new manager, be gone by international break.
Oh and fancy paying 6 million for a crap striker.
Some advocated patience . vindicated I feel.

Trentender

1.) 28 Nov 2018 23:35:30
Yes, it looks like we have the defence sorted as well. lol

09 Jul 2013 15:10:10
Rafik Djebboue to sign this week.

Trentender

1.) Would be a great addition 39 goals in 56 games.

2.) Billy's back tomorrow

So now its " no goals in the team, won't score, won't win games just scratch out draws.
Lets try and get some perspective.
We lose 1-0 to a very good Swansea side in play off position pushing for automatic places. They have conceded just 6 goals at home all season. We were better than them on the night but fell to one chance they created. On Saturday we drew 0-0 with another very good side that score for fun and have just come from Premier league and just beaten Burnley away in the cup.
So 2 games without scoring against quality sides. Hardly a disaster!
Whilst I have time in isolation I looked at goals situation in the Championship.
Norwich, Bournemouth and Brentford scoring for fun however, the chasing pack aren't exactly scoring for fun.
Swansea scored 36, failed to score in 5 games, scored 1 goal in 13 games.
Cardiff scored 42, failed to score in 10 games and scored 1 in 11 games
Watford scored 38, failed to score in 9 and scored 1 in 14 games
Boro scored 34
FOREST scored 31, failed to score in 13 and scored 1 in 10 games.
We ain't that bad when you consider since the Jan transfer window we are a far different team trying to make up for a shocking start to the campaign. These clubs mentioned are in the promotion shake up and we are in a relegation battle.
Ok we haven't scored in last 2 games but scored 5 in the previous 2.

Trentender

1.) 18 Feb 2021 18:24:44
Trentender no one is saying half the things you are.
Its just been pointed out that we don't have many players contributing more a reliance on a just a few players.
Great performance last night but you don't get points for it unfortunately.

2.) 18 Feb 2021 18:58:11
What and how we were doing last season . Sometimes we were the underdogs and were nicking results . We are finding we have to work harder, it's coming be patient.

3.) 18 Feb 2021 19:45:07
Just watching nigella Lawson a lot of people on here would love to or am meringue?

4.) 18 Feb 2021 20:01:47
Totally agree, trentender. I think things are starting to look ok and have been since New Year. I'm on the march with Hughton's army anyway. COYR.

5.) 18 Feb 2021 20:27:01
I like hugtoun and want to stick with him for a few seasons think he will do well with us were not going anywhere this season I just wish he would try some of the youngsters for full games instead of some over payed has bins.

6.) 18 Feb 2021 20:32:20
Trentender as much as i appreciate what your saying mate. i really think nobody is denying we played well last night. The idea of the site is just to comment on what people think could happen. Its not going to make any difference at the end of the day. People are frustrated with life at the moment with this dam c.v.. And as the government advertised its good to talk. Even if it is bullsh#t myself included.

7.) 18 Feb 2021 22:37:39
Just inches and split second decisions away from bagging 3 goals last night . Such a shame as it was deserved and would’ve done wonders for our confidence in a victory for higher pressing tactics - never mind .

8.) 19 Feb 2021 13:29:38
Is there life on mars. Well were going to find out apparently. Just shows with a good team anything can happen. keep believing stay positive and most of all stay safe. 2-1 reds tomorrow 👌 COYR.

13 Feb 2021 22:02:59
So before todays game our resident suicidal moaners were predicting we would be slaughtered and the revival would be shown as a false dawn. But we play well, defend well and prevent Bournmouths goal machine from scoring. We get a point and its now 1 defeat in 11 games.
So now apparantly Cherries were there for the taking, they aren't that good.
Maybe that has more to do with good tactics and doing a job on them . can't some people give credit where its due.

Trentender

1.) 13 Feb 2021 22:40:14
Class trentender.

2.) 13 Feb 2021 22:52:28
at last someone talking sense, ill take a point at swansea. give the man a chance. on paper he's the best manager since bc. i'm sure he will keep us up not fancy football but never mind. if we go down we might get the leather clad biker from bottom of the league wanders.

3.) 14 Feb 2021 09:21:37
On paper what toilet paper? we've had bassett Davis Hart and even megson and karanka had promotion on there cvs.

4.) 14 Feb 2021 10:34:49
Class 79.😁.

5.) 14 Feb 2021 10:44:31
Frank clark.

6.) 14 Feb 2021 10:57:52
Ff79 and o’ Neill, and MacLeish,

7.) 14 Feb 2021 14:43:50
Paul Hart, Frank Cark and Martin O'Neil were far better managers and have more trophies or success (apart from maybe Hart has less trophies) . CH is a competent but boring manager.

07 Feb 2021 12:45:08
I don't get the constant clamour for Mighten and Lolley to play from the start. Lolley is just not performing . Regardless of the poor stats he isn't contributing in the games in general play. Maybe his legs have gone, who knows.
Played 13 games
scored 1
2 assist and
3 shots on target.
Mighten as a winger
started 6 games, 5 more as sub
1 goal
NO ASSISTS
2 shots on target.
Mighten is 18 and learning, his time will come.

Trentender

1.) 07 Feb 2021 12:58:39
Trentender could you please be kind enough to surply this site with the stat of those that kept Mighten out of the team before the new signings came in in the last window.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 14:11:42
Trentender. Who do you think should ae played on that Flank with Ameobi injured?

Freeman, Mighten, Lolley or the invisible man? We have to play one of them.

Ameobi: Injured
Lolley: Managing calf problem and struggling for form.
Mighten: Inexperienced, hit and miss performances and defensively not great.
Freeman: Completely out of condition but loads of ability

Who else?

3.) 07 Feb 2021 14:21:26
Should never play a player out of condition and out of position.
Lolley came on and put over a great cross for the third goal and is a winger.
He hasn't lost it he'll be back.

4.) 07 Feb 2021 14:41:23
He needs games FF and out support and loyalty, he’s earned that In my opinion. Freeman can be given game time via the bench . He shouldn’t start against Bournemouth, he’s too far off the pace.

5.) 07 Feb 2021 16:26:28
I never post what the team should be for any match as its pointless. The manager is paid to pick the side. I juries to players always mean compromises have to be made re players picked, positions played in and tactics. But Lolley has been poor this season for whatever reason, could well be he plays well when the team plays well or could be he's struggling with fitness or could be his form has dipped. Whatever the reason he's not getting picked that often so the manager has noticed aswell. can't pick players for emotional reasons or loyalty just current form.
Re Mighten do you honestlythink he has created chances? Put defenders under pressure? Made an impact on the opposition? I dont. I know he's one of our own but again emotions and loyalty have tobe put aside. He will get better but not ready yet.

6.) 07 Feb 2021 16:39:44
I agree with you, put it all to one side and I’d still put Lolley in front of mighten and Freeman. I can’t watch ameobi, I think he’s an awful footballer . The thing is though he scores and creates so if he plays I have to accept he’s there on merit . I can’t watch him though his first touch most of the time is just terrible.

7.) 07 Feb 2021 16:46:28
Good points trentender.
But its ok for a loan player to get playtime despite being unfit but not an 18 year old with pace to burn and one of our own? .
Lolley deserves respect, when he was signed his injury problem was well documented hence he cost us 400k

Hes scored ten goals a season and plenty of assists so he's having a tough season?
Every player has dips in form.
Got respect for him as you can never say he doesn't try.
Whats your view on taylor not being picked?

8.) 07 Feb 2021 17:11:32
Good post trentender.

9.) 07 Feb 2021 19:21:15
If Forest do not loan Mighten out and they rarely play him how can he develop.

If you are so sure Mighten has done nothing then why have you not answered my request Trentender, is it you have looked at the stats and they do not back up your opinion? 😁.

10.) 08 Feb 2021 16:12:39
Mighten had an assist he played a 1-2 with Ameobi on the edge of the box for Sammy's 2nd cracking goal against Millwall?

07 Feb 2021 08:50:40
So CH the baffoon, clueless, stubborn, incompetent, doesn't know what he's doing, boring, defensive manager that needs to be sacked immediately as he's taking us down.
1 defeat in 10 games now.
Maybe not so clueless.

Trentender

1.) 07 Feb 2021 09:13:00
It is boring though trentender.
Did you watch the whole game?
Got a goal and sat back for the rest of the half.
Got a pen and that was game over third goal sublime.
Good result and workmanlike performance.
Like i say got five very tough games coming up.
That will tell us where we are heading.
Enjoy the win but don't get carried away.

2.) 07 Feb 2021 09:32:03
Agreed mate, surely the lads can take heart from that performance, especially the 2nd half.
Hopefully we can kick on, though we can't seem to do that after a win, maybe that will change, we will see!

3.) 07 Feb 2021 09:50:39
But he is a buffoon Trentender when he has better players at his disposal but doesn’t start the games with them. Lolley and Mighten are better than Fatty Freeman, Ribiero is much, much better than the weak link Bong where all of opposing managers target on attacks because he ain’t good enough and Colback the crab is a better option than the big immobile lump Cafu! Lolley, Mighten, Ribiero and Colback would make our side much stronger and dynamic, so yes, i stand by my words, the man is a buffoon.

4.) 07 Feb 2021 10:01:12
I seen to recall we got 6 / 6 points against Coventry and Wycombe in the previous opposite fixtures . So the Bournemouth and especially Swansea are a truer test . You can see the team spirit of the ex Brighton players which has been sorely missing with Forest . I was pleased that CH brought on both Lolley and Taylor and that they used the opportunity to impress. Taylor cannot help to see the guile and skill of Murray and learn and be inspired. If CH can restore team spirit in the dressing room and pitch we are in with a fighting chance . Even if we loose the next two matches, it will be the manner of our approach and effort the players put in. Swansea are the team of the moment. So at least we can now look forward to these matches with the names of the Brighton trio being first on the team sheet I suspect . Optimistically I think a win and a draw in our next two matches.

5.) 07 Feb 2021 10:09:17
Ff79 being a football fan, if you can’t be happy when your team goes away and wins 3-0, and it could have been more, when can you be happy?, teams at this level are never going to win like the Brazil 70 team, and remember this Wycombe team, poor though they are, frightened spurs to death recently, did you see Watford yesterday? A supposed top team in this division, they were shocking, , we are improving. I don’t think we’ll be anywhere near relegation, I think Wycombe, Wednesday, and brum are starting to look in real trouble will be the ones to go.

6.) 07 Feb 2021 10:12:46
Not much chance of getting carried away on here lol there's plenty of posters ready to drag you down. Yes it isn't pretty at times but bit by bit the confidence should grow. Its tough playing teams at bottom as they scrap, just look at us.
There seems to be more teams in champjonship now that play direct footy with giants in their side and that has always been our weakness. So far we seem to be coping better with them. Hey ho ho tough games coming up and there are bound to be set backs but i'm sure we will end up ok.

7.) 07 Feb 2021 10:16:02
79, you don't need to be telling anyone anything, you keep saying the manager is going to lose his job and slamming him and the players and they keep proving you talk rubbish:)

Enjoy your humble pie but save some for later!

8.) 07 Feb 2021 10:28:36
Only a handful of posters have asked for him to be sacked, take a look at the results in November and early December it’s taken Hughton a long time to get his head around this . His team selections whilst improving are still odd at times .

Some great play for the goals yesterday and we have to hope we get more of it.

However unless he plays when fit:
Samba, Christie, ribeirio, McKenna, Worrall, garner, Yates, Fk, Lolley, Murray, knockaert then he’s simply not doing his job properly and making it much harder than it needs to be, it’s clueless not to choose this team and he makes himself look like a baffooon when he doesn’t . as for wanting him sacked I think you’re mostly off the Mark in spite of many being frustrated with very boring turgid football.

A big test coming now, I hope he plays the best 11 we have and we come through it.

9.) 07 Feb 2021 10:53:14
Why should i have to eat humble pie gingerkid.
Sticking to what i believe not going to change me on that one.
The whole idea of getting rid of Lamouchi was to get a manager in playing more expansive football.
We haven't.
So you keep having a pop at me mate as you have nothing else to say. 😁.

10.) 07 Feb 2021 10:55:10
Give the man time he’s building something here.

11.) 07 Feb 2021 10:56:25
I haven't said i'm not happy stevie they ate your words.
Im pointing out a lot of the games are boring for long periods despite the results.
It showed with the third goal that take the shackles off and the players might express themselves very differently.

12.) 07 Feb 2021 11:39:39
Redtree he's getting results not building anything.
5 loans will go back and we can't afford to buy them.
Summer will come a clearout and we will start all over again.

13.) 07 Feb 2021 11:44:49
Totally agree Redtree, CH has brought four players in since being put in charge, have they done well, overall yes, they have. Things are changing, slowly, but for the better. And while I’m on I did say in my first post for a long time on here the other day that some times you can get a good tune out of an old fiddle, so what do all the old men bashers say now, he’s done a job already if he don't score again . 👍.

03 Feb 2021 15:25:38
Re the negativity on here i'd like to point out another perspective .
Sinc mid December when we lost to Brentford who are steam rolling most our stats are as follows.
Played 10 league games
won 5 drawn 4 lost 1
5 clean sheets
failed to score in 2 games
Agree it hasn't been pretty but we just need to survive this season. CH is doing ok with the hand he took on. It will take time because to move players he has he will have to wait till their contracts expire. Some have moved but not enough.
Once there is more rubbish moved he can get in better players and hopefully he can play more attacking tactics. I think it far too simplistic to just say CH has always been a negative manager. To win 2 promotions you need to win most of your games and you only do that if you have the right players. At the moment we are fragile but hopefully that will change the longer this mini run continues.

Trentender

1.) 03 Feb 2021 16:20:43
I agree but 10 games isn’t a mini run, it’s nearly a quarter of a season, I think the Swansea debacle frazzled everyone’s minds, mine included, the negativity is over the top,

2.) 03 Feb 2021 16:27:43
Fair points well made.
The Swansea game didn’t bother me . The lack of aggression abs urgency in every game is what bothers me .

3.) 03 Feb 2021 16:56:52
Its what I've been saying all along. just wish could get a vacation for negativity. Heres a scenario. After lamouchi went there's a manager behind a door. The manager assures out of 9 league games you would get one loss. how many on here would vote yes before the reveal. Its simple as that. Its not pretty by far. But in the circumstances who gives one flying? c'mon be honest.

4.) 03 Feb 2021 21:04:39
Well let's keep patting hughton on the back?
No need to make a comment as everything is rosie?
Opinions that are different to those of others aren't negative, they are just someone elses opinion that dissagree with you.
Its called freedom of speech and long may it last.
I don't want hughton here at al, i'm not sitting on the fence waiting to see what happens i just don't like his brand of football.
Lamouchi got slated as did O'Neil but were more successful.
Dinosaur football O'Neil?
Clueless and boring Lamouchi?
Well to me hughton has put the two together.
Just my opinion and i guarantee no matter how long you want to give him he won't succeed at forest.
Hes yesterdays man football has moved on
Clueless.

5.) 03 Feb 2021 22:59:42
Ahah the lesser spotted

Cluelessaur FF!

6.) 03 Feb 2021 23:23:52

we do need a striker but in the mean time i'm sure we will set up differently against other sides. We have played 2 of the favourites for promotion and away to one of them, its all about tactics for each game.

Just because we have several centre backs doesn't mean that position isn't a problem. Obviously the manager doesn't think they are good enough. The problem will be moving on the not wanted players.

Norwich got Pukki for free and look what he did
Sheff Utd got McGoldrick for free and Sharp for next to nowt so there are bargains out there, big money does not always guarantee results.
Im just hoping the scouts out there are doing their job.
The last week of close season is always busy with transfers, looking forward to who we get and the start of the season.

Agree need a quality goal scorer that can convert more chances than Grabban . In the past we have had great teams on paper and failed miserably so maybe with players that have gone under the radar is the way forward. Teams like Brentford, Swansea, Wolves have signed players nobody had heard of and ended up playing fantastic football and aside from Brentford gone up. i'm not sure what over whelming players people expect us to realistically go for?

Keep Him
doing a great job
his transfers have been far superior to what we have had in recent years, and with quite a few players out of contract in June I feel quite confident he will once again bring in quality.

FFM 79 ( Forest Forever Moaning )
Mate if you disect every game the way you do all goals are mistakes. Be it the forwards not closing down, then the midfielders not closing down or stopping a cross or blocking . Defenders same or getting a tackle in, goalie not diving, being flat footed, not seeing the ball, or not anticipating a deflection and so on.
So how is that the managers fault?

I thought we played really well and think CH is is doing a cracking job with the players he has available. We are pragmatic in the way we play but we are now very well organised and difficult to beat. I honestly feel confident before a game we aren't going to get beaten.
Re Derby match, Away from home in a local Derby, on top, why would you go all guns blazing and risk losing. Lolley isn't fully fit and hasn't scored for ages, Ameobi obviously not fully fit either. I think the substitution was about right.
But hey ho these things happen.
I just feel so sorry for Figs. Every time he makes a mistake we concede a goal.
