The Kuwait City Ground stadium anyone? Not the end of the world is it. New name and sponsored by the Kuwaiti government according to the Dailey fail . First step back towards the premier league. You Reds!

Always the City Ground 2 me ,so its all good, more money better for the club :)

{Ed034's Note - as it will be to every one of us

I'm in two minds, as I understand and agree that this is nothing but a move forward.

& I was perfectly fine with the name "Kuwait City Ground", something about adding the word stadium after it makes it sound a bit cheesy.

Still, can't wait to see what this brings and I suppose things could be a LOT worse. Coyr

4.) 25 Jul 2014
I was just getting used to the Kuwait City Ground too, maybe I'm being picky but not keen on the abbreviated KCG Stadium at all. Sounds too much like KFC. Will always be the City Ground to me like everyone else. Any news on Sancidino Silva yet?

The harsh reality is our great club has to move with the times or die. This sponsorship deal is good news for the the future, and we still get to keep the name City Ground. Well done Fawaz in securing this deal.

6.) 25 Jul 2014
Great news, still keep the city ground in the name, lots of £'s and hopefully enough money to rebuild the main stand, maybe raise the ground capacity to 40,000.

7.) 25 Jul 2014
Read a post on another site I thought funny, " I don't care if it's called Tampax Entrance if it brings in a shed load of money ".

8.) 25 Jul 2014
Our club would be god only knows where if it wasn't for Fawaz and his money so if this helps him to get us to the PL so be it, Kuwait City Ground is fine by me, and as said already, things could be a hell of a lot worse! If we do get to the PL hopefully this will only be the start of the influx of money from Kuwait, bring it on!

So do we know what this deals actually worth in £'s?

10.) 26 Jul 2014
No sure how much the deal is worth but I bet some folk want it all spending on a pacey forward.

I guess, and hope, they won't be renaming the Brian Clough Stand.

I think this can only been seen as a win win situation 1 we keep the words city and ground in the stadium name plus we get millions for adding the word Kuwait how can any fan not be happy with this.

i know there are going to be a few who will hate it but its called the modern game everyone is doing it and we would be crazy not too.Its not as though we have money pouring into the club from all directions is it.

Its basicaly all down to fawaz to fund everything and that's just not fair on the guy and his family they already have done so so much for this club I say well done fawaz it looks like a great deal you have pulled off.

13.) 26 Jul 2014
Even if the Kuwait government give us £20 million (just a guess), in the championship you can't just spend it, the ffp rules will have you, look at man city in the premiership they got done under ffp, I am pretty sure you need to spend a certain amount of money and stay within ffp rules

{Ed034's Note - that money will go towards our income

14.) 26 Jul 2014
It could be worse, we could be changing our ground name to be that of an unknown sports drink! #ipro #iwhat #iwho

15.) 26 Jul 2014
Cheers ed, does that mean in theory we could by a striker for £20 million?

{Ed034's Note - being as we are about £10m over the budget last season and that's been reduced another £2m this, I would say no

Abdulaziz Al Hasawi has confirmed name change to city ground

17.) 26 Jul 2014
A sheep I know on fb was having a laugh at the name change and his mates started to join in. It's gone quiet after I posted
"Derby based Eurythmics tribute band 'Ewethickmix' have dropped "Thorne in my side" from their repertoire. "

Great to see there's no negativity in the posts above.

For me it couldn't simpler. I love my club. Not it's name or it's stadium's name or who the manager is. I love my club. Whatever happens I'll be a red.

19.) 26 Jul 2014
I can't understand all the negative comments regarding the change of name from City Ground to Kuwait City Ground Stadium. We can't always live in the past and if this kind of sponsorship promotes and secures our clubs future I'm all for it. I'm privileged to have been born in Nottingham and Forest runs through my blood. Fawaz is a God for all he is doing for Forest and hopefully one day soon he will deliver the Club to Premier league status. Let's all get behind Stuart, Fawaz and the players. COYR

20.) 26 Jul 2014
You have to love Fawaz; at least he listens to the fans. Let's face it, he could do what he wants and just call it something like the Kuwait Stadium but the fact he cleverly retains City Ground and has word play on Kuwait City to please the backers is a win win. Could've been like Cardiff and turned us Blue if he fancied it so I think ewe're very lucky that the inevitable naming is so agreeable to all.

21.) 26 Jul 2014
I haven't got a problem with the name change its just the way the games going, it could be worse we could have Vincent Tan as an owner, onwards and upwards COYR

I was hoping for the Fawaz Fridge Factory Stadium

23.) 26 Jul 2014
There's no hopefully about fawaz getting us to the premiership! Its fact that he won't stop until he gets forest back in the premiership! FTID

24.) 27 Jul 2014
I think its a good compromise. as long as city ground is still in the name i'm happy. COYR!!

If it does happen then why not The City Ground Kuwait Stadium?

Maintains the name we all love but also nicely incorporates the sponsors as well?

{Ed034's Note - lol blimey. I'm sure all possibilities would have been thought of

City ground
kuwait stadium sounds better to me
