Hi Ed. I posted last week about Zaha on loan and was worried I'd get shot down. Looks like the rumour has got legs
Paterson has been made available for loan also.

I hope not Ed. Really rate Paterson.

{Ed034's Note - as do I, but if it was a choice between zaha and pato, I'd have zaha and send pato out on loan to get games

I hope the Zaha rumour is true but I also think we should keep Patterson, as he is a player I rate and is inkeeping with the SP philosophy.

Cannot see Paterson going out on loan, other players will be moved on, he is to good to be loaned out!

Pato was one of our best performers last season scored some fantastic goals and should be in 1st team. I
Would not be loaning him out.
Don't think we need Zaha spend the money
Keeping Lansbury and getting another defensive midfielder in.

Personal opinions on Patterson are irrelevant. If he doesn't fit in to Pearce preferred style of play, then he's better of out on loan than sat on the bench. Significant that he didn't start Sat after being one of our most productive players towards the end of last season.

I remember getting slated last season for suggesting we should let Patterson go out on loan as part of the sako deal with wolves. Patterson showed glimpses of brilliance last season but would still take zaha over him and send him out if its a possibility. He would only come back stronger as I still reckon he's a future reds star player.

Also I think this could be the sort of deal that could possibly sway Lansbury into wanting to stay. Would be a real statement of intent.

Patterson was one of few success stories last season, yet a semi-fit Antonio gets in ahead of him. My implication was, despite the fans (myself included) high regard for Patterson, for whatever reason Pearce is going to go a different way. couldn't think of a less confrontational way of putting it.

{Ed034's Note - I think pato has a great future and was expecting pearce to bring him on, but if it was a choice of him or zaha, really its no contest.

Surely not Paterson will have a big part to play this season. i'd rather keep him than have Zaha. We need a defensive Midfielder and maybe Harry Kane from spurs if we could get him on loan. Keep Lansbury and promotion would be ours for the taking.

Also think patto started well and improved in each game last yr to the point we were almost expecting big things from him everytime he played and he did deliver a lot of times, even with zaha, I would keep

Zaha played 158 games scored 18 goals
Paterson played 140 games scored 28 goals.

By all accounts pato has not been great during pre-seaon and that would explain why he didn't start or come on. SP must have a reason.

Zaha won't happen let's be honest, however. let's imagine it did. I still would keep Pato. I agree with posters sho say he showed flashes of brilliance last season, he needs to do that consistently. Last season he barely had any competition, so keep the lad and let's see what's he's made of. Flashes ain't going to wash this campagin. thank god, got to love the competition at the moment
